Hilgarts Auto Services is one of those places that you can always count on to take care of you, whether it's a simple oil change or undiagnosed issues, they've got your back. I also love that they are one of the few places in the area that have a deep knowledge of jeeps (especially older models). Their advice and expertise have fixed many issues on my jeep and their crew are some of the best mechanics I've seen.

Have you ever been in a pinch with the engine light turning on in your car? I did and went to hilgarts to have it tested. They immediately diagnosed the error and were able to provide an estimate. Greatful for an honest mechanic.

I rarely write reviews but my SO and I have been taking our cars here for several years and they truly go above and beyond for their customers. They are honest and upfront about pricing and perform service quickly and efficiently even when the shop is PACKED (as it should be, they are the best!). Collin the manager deserves a special shout out - he genuinely cares about his customers and their cars and always makes the sometimes unpleasant task of auto maintenance far less daunting with his help and guidance.Service: Auto battery maintenance

I do all my own work until I do something stupid. That time was last week. Got me in quickly. Didn't even make fun of me, at least to my face. This quality service was not a one-off situation. They took care of the girlfriends GX460 for years and were honest and reasonable. Not cheap, but reasonable. That's value - that's rare and it's only a matter of time before my next stupid move. They will be my first call.

My husband and I were traveling from Wisconsin Dells back home to Chicago, IL and our oil pressure notification came on. Collin and the rest of the team got the issue fixed quickly which we appreciated considering we were far from home. Collin was so professional and explained everything clearly. Love this place! Colin is always so professional, honest and communicates well! We had a tire problem just as we were leaving town and they worked us in to get it fixed! Highly recommend this business! You won't be disappointed!

Collin is very professional and friendly. He values quality work and it definitely shows! He also was very kind in working us into his already busy day. Very comparable with price if not slightly more affordable than anywhere else local. He calls with updates and is very patient when explaining everything going on with your vehicle. We've been here many times for brakes, brake line replacement, front axel, welded exhausts, oil changes and more. Very reliable each and every time. I originally took my car in to get my brakes looked at and fixed somewhere else. And, I was told there was nothing wrong with them. We tell them to test drive it and they claim they did and still we were told there wasn't anything wrong. So, we brought it here and the owner John said he would take it for a test drive. He did just that and told me my car was unsafe to drive. He offered to give us a ride home but we had a car there so we didn't have to sit and wait. He told us what he felt what the problem was and gave us an estimate and would call us if anything else needed to be done. A few hours later we got a call from Collin and he told us what was fixed and he was concerned about my front brake pads and rotor. We had him go ahead and fix that. About 2 hours later he let us know everything was done. I have to say thank you to John and Collin for your knowledge and honesty. A big thank you to the mechanics who worked on my car. You all did a great job and I highly recommend Hilgarts. I feel much safer driving my car thanks to you all. I will definitely be returning for oil change or any other mechanical work.

I want to give a huge shout out to Hilgart s Auto Service in Roscoe, Illinois. My daughter, Elizabeth, was halfway into her 7 hour drive home from college for Christmas break when her battery light came on. She stopped at Hilgart s at 3:15 on a Friday afternoon. They checked her car and determined her alternator was bad. They went out of their way to find an alternator on short notice and installed it so she could get back on the road by 4:45! This business gets it! As a father, I m glad there are people like Colin and the crew at Hilgart s who are there to help a young lady in need. I appreciate you guys!

The level of professionalism I experienced today was absolutely amazing!!! Can not say enough great things about Collin and Jason. Collin kept in contact with me through out the day, keeping me updated on repairs needed and pricing. My vehicle proved rather difficult to find parts for but again Collin went out of his way, even offering to come in on his day off to finish if necessary.I have found my go to mechanic. Manager John was very rude! A company is only as good as its manager. Although the guys inside are nice the manager is anything but! I felt he was demeaning to me as a woman while talking to him and that he showed no respect towards me while all I was trying to do was solve an issue. Talked to me like I didn t know anything. I just wish for everyone (esp women) that you pass this place up and go to a different auto shop. I know I will!

Colin and the rest of the Hilgarts team are nothing short of spectacular. I have never had an experience with an auto shop go so smoothly and reasonably. It was a sincere pleasure doing business with Hilgarts. I've only went for oil changes so far, but my vehicle's previous owner gave me records from the work they've done on my trailblazer and everything is up to par. They've communicated with me in a professional manner and have been prompt with their service. I recommend them if you're looking for reliable service.

I was on my way to Florida for vacation and heard a loud clunking noise. Found Hilgart's Auto Service and was greeted by Collin who was so helpful.The professionalism and care for customers is top notch. It was nearing closing and they were busy, Collin still took the time to help me with the issues we were having. I am beyond grateful and would highly recommend this business. Great service. Fair pricing. I recently recommended a friend of the family to Hilgarts Auto Service. She's on disability with limited income recovering from a knee replacement and they got her car up and running again at minimal cost. She previously took it to an oil change place that tries to diagnose car problems and she drove out $200 poorer and the problem persisted. Well done Hilgarts! Thank you for your integrity and professionalism.

Can't say enough about these guys. Their ability to diagnose a problem is amazing. They do the work at a reasonable price. My air conditioner wasn't working. I brought to the dealer and was told I needed a new compressor and other things to get the air working again...to the tune of over 1000.00.A friend told me to take my vehicle to Hilgarts. They looked at my vehicle, told me it needed new refrigerant and now I have nice cool air. Oh, the bill? It was 167.00. Thanks Hilgarts!

I took my jeep in to have rear shocks, springs and control arms put on. He gave me a quote based on time he estimated. He called to let me know that they were going to run past that quote but when they finished he only charged me for the original time quoted. I thought that was honest, fair and more than I expected. They did a great job. He also let me know of some other things to be concerned about with my jeeps frame. I will recommend hilgarts to all of my friends based on my experience. The guy that helped me at the front counter was friendly and honest as well as the mechanics working there. Great shop!
