I drove 5 hrs. to buy a part from them that I confirmed through a GMC dealership and through the VIN# that they gave me that it was indeed the right part for my vehicle. Arrived at their business and was shown the part, had a pretty good gash in it but I bought it anyways since I had driven that far. Got it home and sent it to a body shop to be painted and repaired. Couple days later we went to install it and it was the wrong bumper. Called and sent them photos but was told I'm out of luck since I had it painted and now couldn't return it. Funny thing is the exact one that I needed shows up for sale at double the price I think I got the bait and switch. I tried to negotiate with them but no can do. Be careful who you deal with.

It took me a while to write this review for the rims a purchase from this company. I originally ordered 4 rims from them. I was working with a guy name Jay Hedrick. He reached out to me and told me one of the rims were bad. So there were only three rims he could sell to me. I made sure to ask him if any of the wheels are cracked or bent before buying. He reassured me that there is no such issue other than just curb rash and scuffs. I have emails as proof if they try to deny it. I eventually picked the three rims up after they arrived at their shop. Initially, It took me a while to get the wheels refinished, painted and the right tires before getting them tire mounted at a shop. By then, the return warranty was up. When I eventually got them installed, the workers at my local tire shop told me one of the rims was extremely bent. It was so bad, I am surprised that jay told me by email:"my shipping department looked them over pretty good". I guess they never did or did a bad job at looking them over. By then, It was too late to get a refund since it took me some time to get rim refinished and painted. I had no clue that one was bent until i took it to the tire shop. It turned out that 2 out of the 4 rims they were selling were bad, yet they still sold me one of the bad ones. I am dissatisfied by my experience with this company. Not sure if they will do anything but for anyone buying rims from them, make sure to check them at a shop as soon as possible. I trusted jay and ended up being screwed.

This is my one stop shop for anything automotive related. Their bread and butter is High end used auto parts. They carry a huge inventory and in the rare chance they don t have it, their sales staff can find it. They also have a full service department for foreign and domestic offering not only basic repairs but can handle the more difficult electrical gremlins as well. I have had multiple cars serviced here. The service labor rate is almost impossible to beat that $75 an hour. An ASE certified mechanic is on staff to figure out the most complicated issues. If you don t know about them, you need to!

I had no idea this place was even here, my mechanic told me that they would have the best price on town for my battery and yes it was $60 cheaper than the quote at a competitor with a better warranty. Also they have great price on a 21 point oil change with up to 5 quarts of oil for only $25.64.

Very friendly and willing to work with the customer !!Higly recommended!! - NOT !!Thy said you get 10% off the price if you write a 5 star review....Not exactly an honest way to score...The truth is they keep almost all the parts outside after removing them from the vehicles so expect a lot of rust issues !!Their mechanics are not very well educated or expirienced.Not recommended at all!

Dexter Holmes and the sales staff at General Auto Parts are AWESOME!!! Ordered an entire engine assembly for a customer's 2010 Audi A4. The staff was professional and courteous and took care of all of our needs ordering an engine assembly in a timely manner. Also ordered a DSG transmission from them for a different vehicle, but that customer got cold feet. Dexter was very understanding and facilitated our needs with an impossible customer (who apparently does not want their vehicle fixed). GREAT JOB DEXTER!!!

After looking at several sources of used BMW motors to purchase after ours died, we decided to buys ours from General Auto Parts in Illinois. They were fantastic to work with and worked expediently to get our motor shipped to us. So - why the "0" rating you ask? Like most businesses, I'm sure they were eager to get a $4,000+ sale. However, their customer service left something to be desired (although their sales guy was very responsive). In shipping the motor to our mechanic, the invoice they included had fine print (on the back) indicating they enforce a 30 day core return policy on the engine - they told me on the phone they would refund $600.00 of our purchase back if we sent the original motor back to them. They DID NOT mention this return policy over the phone. After getting our engine working, 11 days after the 30 day core return policy, I called them to return our old engine (core) to get this refunded. They refused to return it due to "policy" even though I politely explained to them that it took longer to get the engine installed and working properly. I offered them our mechanic's number to verify our situation (they never called). The owner claims to want to "make it right" to people on previous reviews listed here. The owner never called us as a concerned or upset customer. You'd think you'd want to make a customer happy that's spent over $4,000 with their business. Their sales guy admitted they were a "volume" based business, and the owner simply doesn't have time.We simply wanted to return the core back to them (a $600 deciding factor on choosing this company to begin with) and they refused, all due a "policy". It should be noted that we ALREADY PAID for the return shipping of the core in our purchase price. Poor experience. Not informing customers up front of a MAJOR return policy like that is farce. We didn't even see the receipt from them (it was delivered to our mechanic's shop) until after the 30 day return policy.

I purchased a set of used tires from General Auto Parts that were advertised on Craigslist to have at least 11/32nds of tread remaining. When I arrived I told Tim that they did not look right. He said their technicians were top notch and that it was checked by them. I asked him for a tire gauge and we could clear this up right away. He said they did not have one. So I trusted him. Well the tires turned out to be 8/32 or over 30% less usable tread. To date the owner personally overrode an offer from his manager to resolve the matter and they have not been willing to make any accommodation or re-install new tires that I was willing to purchase. This is a typical business where honesty and integrity take a back seat to the buck from my experience. I am sure if you are their friend you will be fine but if you are a stranger, buyer beware. Sad experience. I worked with Tim who is the parts guy who will say whatever, Paul ( a little back and forth with him but he made an offer to amend but was forced to be the bad guy by the owner ). Now Paul has totally changed tact and is just as dishonest. He told me a priest once condemned him due to a dishonest deal so don't expect much there. Amanda ( owner's daughter who quickly backed out when her father got involved ) and Dexter who is the owner who was promised to call me but never did and reneged on any reparations due to their mistakes and showed an extreme lack of customer service as he refused to even address the issue with me directly. What may have been an honest mistake on their part turned out to be an honesty problem with the business. Hopefully this will help anyone from repeating my experience.

Scummy company, with smatterings of fake parts lists. Like those auto generated Locksmith websites. Businesses that don't exist and they funnel business to the REAL locksmiths. I spoke with two REAL people, both with American accents. Both times was given the run around about MULTIPLE parts they had listed on their websites but magically were not in stock whenever I called to pick them up. After finding a dozen or more parts listed as IN STOCK on their websites, speaking to two people. I went and used the online chat. BIG MISTAKE, almost bot like responses or someone using GOOGLE TRANSLATE to scam people. Was told they had NO compatible part even thought their website showed multiple results. And would be GLAD to SELL me a part, PAINTED for 100$+. I guess once they realized I didn't work for a shop they tried to regular person scam instead of the Mechanic Shop scam me. 2 hours later no car part, no idea if the chat room customer service reps are foreign and English isn't their first language or if they are just strange for the sake for throwing you off while they scam you. Found part at my local junkyard. Do as I did Support real LOCAL businesses. Instead of companies hiring foreigners to scam Americans.

First off let me start by saying that I hate doing reviews . So for me to be doing a review about General Auto Parts says a lot!!! Been going to them for over 6 years and have NEVER had a problem!!! Paul, Bill, and the sales personnel up front are Great!! You tell them what s wrong and they ll find the answer! No B.S or smoke up the a** tricks here!!!! Straight to the point. I highly recommend going here for your auto problems and parts!!!!

CROOKS!!!!!Told them the exact Make Model and Engine on the vehicle for a major project on the vehicle, the recipe confirmed it. They told me it was the last one so I needed to reserve the part so I went and picked it up. My mechanic was busy and took a while to get to it but I wanted to be ready. After I found out it was wrong they refused to take it back because it was more than 30 days. They admit they're mistake but refused to take it back now I'm out 320$
