My husband and I had been taking our vehicles to this location for several years and had spent thousands of dollarsNot anymoreAfter questioning Chuck (the head mechanic ) on a diagnosis of a particular problem we still have with our truck. He refused to admit that his solution was wrong and that he fixed something that wasn t broken. In fact we brought the truck back for a free tire rotation ( having purchased our tires there) and he brought the matter up with us treating us like crap and telling us to take our business elsewhere. After sharing our story with our NEW mechanic. Our NEW mechanic said he knew of Chuck and that he s treated many other customers the same way we were treated and that Chuck also isn t as qualified mechanic as he pretends to be. We just wonder how much other money we may have wasted on other Chuck misdiagnoses

This store and the Cherry Valley store off of Perryville are now under new ownership from Delavan Wisconsin a total different f&f tire that you've had before. Come see these guys they'll do an excellent job on your car the only hire the best mechanics that they can find and they are very reasonable and can get it done. Come see Troy and Jared, February 28th, 2024, needed to get an oil change. Even when on Facebook and ask people where they thought places were reasonable around Rockford didn't get really any answers I called around and asked how much for a regular conventional oil change and tire rotate the majority of them were well over $100. Went to f&f tire world and got the oil change and the Tire rotate for $60. You can't beat the price! If you haven't seen these guys yet you need to go see them now they will take care of all your needs for your car.

We stopped to address an issue with a nail in our tire. Staff was friendly and extremely helpful, especially considering it was the Saturday before Easter

F&F tire is very expensive. If you compare prices around other top places , they're more expensive. But we needed help and felt stuck into paying more than we should have for same work. Later I was told there's coupons on the website. I looked and the website was down. They were very nice and helpful but again very over priced. Sorry but we spent over 5 thousand dollars in repairs. It was NOT the parts but labor and a bunch of extra stuff. I asked did you check why the check engine light was on and they said no that's not our job. Yup, going to another place to get that work done. So far the work is holding up but will see. I would go back if I needed my car work done asap or a oil change. I really should have waited for another place. Nothing I could do about it now . No senior discount nor was I told at the time about coupons, not that the website worked. Again super nice and clean place. Buyers remorse I guess . I was warned by others but I didn't listen.

My daughter's car broke down on the interstate near Rockford. She was able to get it off the interstate safely but could get no further than a gas station. It was 7:00 at night and she is hours from home. There was only so much I could do to help her. Basically, I felt hopeless. She called AAA and I looked up shops. This is where they took it. Blindly, at night, hours from home, I took a chance. These guys at F&F were remarkable! Not only were they able to get the car in right away in the morning and have it fixed by 3 p.m., Josh that was handling the phone calls was incredibly reassuring. Not sure if they did more than was needed but they went above and beyond to make sure my daughter could safely get to her destination and back home. When they found problems as they went they fixed them while staying under my budget. Truly grateful... 10 stars!!!

Walked in at 3:30PM with no appointment after another shop wanted to keep my truck for an entire day. They had the parts on hand and got me in and out in less than 45 minutes. Good luck finding that anywhere else. Got new pads and rotors for $25 less than the other place and saved a lot of time. They pointed out two other issues to keep an eye on but it was strictly informative. Overall it was a great experience.

Not exactly transparent with pricing. I drive 800 miles each week so I get tires often and am very familiar with many tire shops and tire pricing. They have extra fees they tack on top that no other tire shop charges. Also they will try to talk you into doing unnecessary work and buying things you don't need so not sure how trustworthy that makes them. Maybe the 3 stars I gave them is too generous but if you just need tires and know enough not to get talked into buying things you don't need they are fine.

I used to enjoy bringing my vehicles here until recently. There is a new manager at this location and the service has gone south along with their integrity. I no longer trust them, buyer beware!. Second opinion is highly recommended on all quotes from these guys.

I love this place. Especially, enjoy a man named Josh that works here. They are honest, kind, knowledgeable, and very flexible at getting my car in. Honestly, there isn t a place I trust more being a women and knowing nothing about cars . A huge thank you to Josh and the staff here.

Josh Matson is a great manager, the shop is clean and well organized, I never feel pressured to buy something I don't really need, yet get a great explanation of what needs maintenance in the near future. The prices are very reasonable. As a repeat customer, I am very satisfied.Thank you Josh!

I went here for a quick tire repair. They did the repair without an appointment which was great. I was in and out within about 15 minutes. A normal tire repair is about $15 which is very reasonable. When I went to pay the guy at the counter he told me not to worry about it and wished me a merry Christmas. I will be telling others about the great service I received here! Thank You!

NEVER EVER GO HERE !!!! THEY ARE TOTAL SCAMMERS!!! THEY AREN'T MECHANICS !!! My car wouldn't start so I had a neighbor give me a jump. Took it to them because they were close .They put in an overpriced starter and battery. Next day it didn't start. They jumped it and put in an ignition switch. Next day it wouldn't start. The third day they said it was a $5 relay switch. My bill was $850.00 for a $5 switch. They are incompetent and will totally RIP you off. I am writing a letter to the owner and president of the co.Warning NEVER go here !!!!!!!!

My wife brought our 2016 Chrysler 200 in for an oil change. When she got home she heard a scrapping from under the car. She noticed the oil filter door was left hanging down. She also noticed that the oil change light was not reset. I called and spoke to Kurt who told me to bring it in and he would take care if it. So I left work to bring the car back so they could finish their job. Kurt met me at the door and I asked how he was doing today. He said he would be better if he could get his lasy a$$ employees to do their job. He went out to the car and reset the oil change light. Then he drove the car to the back. 5-6 minutes later they were done and I left with my car. On my way home I stopped and looked underneath the car (I just couldn't trust them) and noticed they just zip tied the door up because now the lock is missing. I called and spoke with Kurt again. I told him I was not very happy about the zip tie. If I knew that was what they were going to do I wouldn't have left work, drove 30 minutes home, drove 25 minutes there and then 25 minutes back home. I could have done that myself at home. Then he claims it was broken at the last place we had an oil change and they are doing the best they can. I asked if it was broken why didn't you mention it and I got no response. The replacement part is $20 and a reputable shop would have replaced it. This place is unprofessional and dangerous to their clients with their blatant negligence. I will never take another vehicle there and if you have half a brain you won't either. Kurt you are rude and a boldface liar. Own up to your mistakes and take care of your customers if you plan on staying in business very much longer.Edit: I was called by the new owner of all the IL F&F Tires within a couple of days of posting this. He is primarily located out of the Cherryvale Mall location. He was very apologetic and concerned about my experience. He offered to make it right and replace the part. He ordered a new part and stayed in contact with me to ensure my satisfaction. I will definitely be a patron of the other F&F tire locations in Illinois.

These guys have always done right by me. I started coming here after my dealership tried to sell me on steering fluid, new breaks, rotors, etc; when I'd just had them done not too long ago.Low & behold, power setting fluid was fine (it's been 3 years since and I haven't replaced it!) and the breaks lasted another two - F&F removed a tiny little clip that was stuck in the break pad making the horrible noise - for free. They also found that my spark plugs had never been changed (had 110k miles at the time) so I took them up on changing them.F&F has always been prompt, courteous, and miraculously the cost for upkeep on my car has gone down! (And not just because there cheaper than the dealership either!)

I have been going to this F and F location for a couple years now and usually would not go anywhere else for the big work I can not do myself. Sadly I have to say I will never go back there again. I went in for a simple oil change not to long ago and they told me that my $25 oil change was going to cost my $300 due to the last person who did my oil change cross threading the filter into the housing and they would have to replace the whole housing. I still have the paper they printed for me. I was very upset and could not afford the $300 and they advised me to apply for their credit card which hit my credit in a negative way. I then took it to another mechanic who said that it was just the filter that was crossthreaded. He was able to carefully take it off and my $300 fix with down to a $5 fix. I just called Kurt (The manager at F and F) and he basically accused me of lying and was very rude to me. I will never ever recommend this place nor go there myself again.

Do not bring your vehicle here unless you want to go 3-4 times within the same week because they could not fix your car. This has happened on 3 seperate occasions for me.They will charge you as if it fixed and it is not fixed at all. When you bring it back expect to pay more. You will leave and your car is running worse than before the original problem you brought it for. My car sounds like its going to explode in 1st gear....if i could give this place a zero i would. I dont really think an actual licensed mechanic works there..just children . On my last visit 450 dollars later this female mechanic stated "i wouldnt put another dime into that car"..right after i paid? I could not believe the unprofessionalism

Took my beloved and cherished Honda Passport in to get the Check Engine light checked. Catalytic Convertor was taking a dump. Got it changed at a great rate and with great honesty. Check Engine light came back on after replacement because my truck was complaining about it. Got the light shut off and codes reset. Came on again but I not only got the light shut off and codes reset but they also replaced the Catalytic Convertor under warranty. My truck runs great, sounds great and kicks so much a**. Thanks, dudes. I ll be back.

I would highly recommend avoiding any of these f&f tire world sites at all cost. Just got done dealing with this one. A friend of mine was charged around $900 for pads, rotors, and calipers. However several months later they started grinding and she asked me to inspect them. Upon inspection I noticed the calipers were extremely rusted and beat up and I could tell they were old calipers. So I took them to a mechanic up the road Kurtz auto and had them do a full inspection. He agreed these calipers were either not replaced or had been replaced with used ones. So I took the vehicle back to f&f and explained that who ever did the job didn't properly replace the calipers. Immediately the service clerk at the desk got extremely defensive and started yelling that he has 20 years of experience and that all calipers have a coat of rust on them when purchased and that the mechanic I spoke with had no clue what he was talking about. When addressed that I too have been trained as a mechanic he simply told me it wasn't my car and he's refusing to talk to me and only my friend. He then proceeded to cover up the scam by saying both brake hoses went bad and that those needed to be replaced trying to get more money. After placing pressure on the clerk he eventually replaced all the components free of charge but still denies any wrong doing. I'm glad that in the end the parts got replaced but had I not gone with my friend they would have tried to pull another job out of her and scam her for more money. Sad we have unethical places like this that give mechanics a bad name.

Bought new Cooper tires for three of my vehicles there. Had mechanical work done: fixed bad water pump, had tuneups- they replaced plugs and ignition coils. Back coils required removal of intake manifold and other parts for access. Kurt is very knowledgable and helpful. His mechanics in the garage I think are experts. Highly recommend. Especially if keeping and maintaining older cars. But would bring a NEW car there also -when I get one.

Cars cost a lot to fix if not well maintained. I feel the prove I spent to get everything fixed it was a great price. Haven t had a problem since, and they have great customer service as well. I definitely recommend this shop! Thanks guys!

I read the reviews on this auto repair shop. Some of us get lucky on repair jobs and some of us don't. They had my girlfriends truck for thirty hours just to change a exhaust manifold gasket on the passenger side which is an estimated of 3 to 4 hour job. Ok, if that was done right but only time will tell and charged her for new bolts that were never installed because I looked and saw the original rusty bolts were reinstalled. Kurt show me the new bolts in an unopened plastic package that were going to replace the old ones. They charge $59.99 for them and the complete job was a total of $357.19. To top it all off, the mechanic put a small dent on the top of the passenger front fender which was the side the work had to be done. The dent was not there before because I had that whole side of the truck painted with all dents fixed two months ago. I would have confronted them but knowing they would denied it and I couldn't prove it. The Basters, never going there again !!!!!!

"Mechanic" refused to fix my car and insisted there was no problem. Was rude and uneducated. Big waste of time. He test drove my car but it was more like a test race! I wouldn't trust these guys to fix anything more than a flat tire. Don't waste your time and go to an actual mechanic.

Friendly and affordable. I look quite young and can tell when service centers try to take advantage of a young woman who doesn't know a lot about cars. I trust my vehicle and my wallet with these guys. Great shop!

Be warned! I own a mint condition truck. Clean, low mileage, running great. I decided it was time for brakes. Brought it here....one of the worst decisions of my life. They destroyed my truck & I paid $800+ for it.Drove it in operating perfect, got quote for $499. Brakes, Rotors, Drums, Shoes. Easy right? 6 hours later....over $800 with add-ons, interior filthy with grease all over my upholstery, I mean A LOT, like zero effort was taken to keep it clean. Brakes rubbing, making shimmy noises & my emergency brake is now useless & flimsy.I returned, explained the situation & they took it right in....30 minutes later, they call me back into shop to tell me my e-brake never worked - which it did & the brakes were fine, which they arent. They closed for the day. When I get into truck 2nd time - ITS EVEN FILTHIER!!! To the point where I beleive it was malicious. Im disgusted over this, drive truck home brakes pull right & rubbing sounds terrible. Not sure if I can scrub the grease out of my cloth interior. E brake still not working. F&F says bring it back again... I say NEVER again!!!My truck was clean, pristine & fine, operating perfect. This was ROUTINE maintenance...easy...now my truck needs professional cleaning, my lawyer is involved, BBB involved, CC company involved & im thinking....I just wanted brakes! How hard is it to screw that up?For all this...they hijacked hard earned $800 pay from me.If I save just one person from going to this place - its a good thing. Stay away! Keep your investment AWAY from F&F on Alpine - they are incompetent & totally disrespectful about cleanliness. I feel like a victim of a crime, like they stole money out of my wallet & vandalized my property.

IMO... Worst "car repair" in the entire city. Routine maintenance, turned into vehicle damage. The interior looks vandalized, car doesn't drive correct now, paint is scratched. A junkyard could do better. Mgmt. could care less & SHOWS it. The mechanics don't appear skilled & shop helpers treat your vehicle with disdain. They break more than they fix. Absolute failure from top to bottom. Zero stars!!!

Amazing service. Picked up our car, after it broke down, took care of it without us having to be there, then dropped it off at our house instead of making us have to arrange a ride to go get it. Wonderful job truly. Thank you.

I would like to help the next person don't go here again. I have report from two other shops saying alternator is bad and we had it replaced about two months ago at f and f. Brought the car back in it should be under warranty and asked them to fix it and they gave us the run around and said it was the battery clearly it is not. If two different places told us it's the alternator. Cause not even a hour latter the alternator wasn't charging the battery again. So cause two women brought the car in to get it fixed we are idiots i guess. The car will back there in the morning and will get fixed or else. 2001 Nissan Sentra is going to get a replaced alternator for the amount of money they charge they should stand behind there service.
