I visited this place to get the second opinion and price comparison of a quote from another auto shop who did the first repair based on a one hour diagnostic scan on the same problem which illuminates annoying warning lights. Kevin of Tuffy told me that he is willing to give me their quote but he wanted to spend free extra time to analize to find out exactly what is causing this problem. Then ,he discovered one culprit like a needle in the haystack and gave me detailed explanation why and what is causing the problem based on the result of his own deep learning method. Although he offered completely different parts quoted by another auto shop , I trusted Kevin and chose him to fix this problem. My decision was right and I have been driving my car for the past one week without warning messages and illuminations. Kevin is really a hero and thank you to all of the Tuffy members.

We were customers of the prior two auto repair shops, and now with Tuffy. We haven t noticed any change in the quality of service and parts - which is good. Prices are in line with what I d expect given the inflation we are all suffering. That is, similar to the previous + inflation. I feel comfortable taking our cars to Tuffy s so far. Give them a chance if you haven t been there yet.

They stayed open a little later than planned on a Saturday to patch a hole in my tire which I really appreciate! Did a good job, price was right and service great.

Frustrating experience. Left car for an oil change at 8:45. Called at 2:00 to get a time when it would be ready and was told by 3:30 - 4:00. Showed up at 3:45 and my car had not moved all day. The excuse was they could not handle the reservation process from both Tuffy and Wild Automotive. Unfortunate the customer service dropped so drastically from Wild Automotive standard.

I went in due to a slow leak for a rear tire. Kevin and team found out quickly that it was the TPMS causing the leak, not the tire itself. After replacing this OEM part, they also provided a quote with list of other potential items to address (brake fluid, wipers, tire treads). Overall, excellent customer service. Fair prices.

Had kind of a unique, annoying electrical issue that Kevin fixed with no sweat! One fifth the cost of a local dealership. Highly recommend!

They did a super great job on my car I will totally recommend anyone to them. With my issue with my car they work on it and make it happen and I walk out with a big happy day I will never go anywhere else!!!!!!!

The price was a bit high for an oil change and they didn't check and fill all the fluids. Other estimates they gave me were twice the cost of going to the Dealer, so I think they're too expensive for me.

They did our brakes on our VW Van. They fixed the issue we had with the rotors and the steering wheel shaking when applying the brakes. Van has been driving better than the day we bought it.

Jim is simply the best! He knows how to run a business and while keeping the customers happy. I am always skeptical when bring my car in to a repair place. My wife and I have been taking our cars to this location for 5 years.Any light or problem I have I know I can trust Jim and his team to diagnose it in a timely manner and repair only what is necessary.Jim and his team have been nothing but honest and forthright over the years.I know that after my car has been serviced that it will run safely and that I will also be given a detailed report of any other issues and when it is recommended to get them done - never have I felt pressured to get extra work done.I am so very proud to have Jim and his team as my neighborhood mechanics, and I believe he/they do our small town proud.Services: Tires, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

My family has been entrusting our cars with Jim and his crew for over 15 years now, starting with just the 2 we owned back then, to the 5 cars we now have for all of our college-aged kids. He's honest and will tell you don't need to do maintenance quite yet as often as when you do need work done immediately. If he can't take care of a problem, he has always had good suggestions of where to go to get it fixed. When we have been ready to buy another car, we've gone to him for advice on which vehicles to look at based on his experience. I've even called him for advice and guidance when I've been on the road and had a problem. It's unusual to find that kind of customer service in this day. These guys were so great. I brought them in for a tire issues while I was visiting the burbs. It ended up being something that would take them a bit more time, and when I told them that I needed to take the car back into the city, they didn't charge me anything. Very helpful, thorough explanation, but were generous in their time (on a Saturday, nonetheless).Service: Tires

I have been coming to Fox River Grove Car-X for over 8 years. Jim, the owner, always provides trustworthy advice and recommendations, and has helped me with multiple vehicles maintenance. I have also brought all my used cars to him to check out first before purchasing to make sure they are up to standards. Being a single female it can be easy to be taken advantage of when it comes to your car's maintenance and I have always felt confident and comfortable at Car-X. I don't even live in Fox River Grove and I still drive out here for all my car needs. This is a great establishment and I highly recommend it!!

I have been bringing our vehicles to Car X in Fox River Grove for a few years now. I really appreciate the honesty, integrity, and willingness to work with a customer. Like any vehicle, it is never easy to spend money on unexpected maintenance, but Jim and the rest of the team there make it as easy as possible. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. ******Had my BMW taken to this place as I had a slow leak. They told me I had a staple puncture and Jim, the owner, said tire was not repairable. Fyi- the tires were brand new !!! He also said it had a slash on the side of the tire too.. which we found out later was not true. He wanted to charge me over 200 for one tire. Honesty is not this business priority. It seems like making money at whatever the LIE is. I took it to Queens in Carpentersville. This tire shop looked at it and within 20 minutes was able to patch it and said the tire was fine. They charged me 20.00!! I have had no issues on the tire at all!! Jim, the owner, who just looked at the tire wanted to charge me 40.00 even though I never asked him to take the tire off the rim. I gave him 20.00 and was very upset. This is a very shady shop. The owner just wants to make money. Customers BEWARE...!!!!!!!Service: Tires

Jim and his team did a fantastic job on my Chrysler 300 front end . The car has never handled better and the cost of repairs was very fair . I would 100% recommend them as a quality shop . Jim has a great place

I drive 40k miles a year mostly in Chicagoland traffic. This wreaks havoc on my vehicle. Jim and his team have proven that using the right parts coupled with their expert diagnostics and skill will keep me rolling without worries year after year and well beyond the "standard lifespan." I have never hesitated to reccomend this shop to anyone. Jim and his wife are honest business owners and will make sure the job is done right.
