ABSOLUTELY THE WORST DMV I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. I came in, took my number and sat down. She called the number before mine and I kept sitting because it wasn t mine. I know I m the only one waiting. She started our interaction off with, you re the only person waiting just come here . Um, ok. She was rude, has an attitude issue and power trip. The whole time I m waiting the lady helping me was talking trash with her co-worker about how the people her co-worker was helping didn t have proper documentation and that it was trashy she had a pot leaf on her bag. I m at this point just not appreciating the banter about these people back and forth. I didn t have a correct document and instead of listing off what I could use she just didn t say anything until I had to ask what was acceptable and at this point flustered. I used my paystub on my phone for the document. Then I answered a text from my mom about my daughter. She snapped on me and told me I can t have my phone at the counter. I m obviously confused because it s not directly posted above and asked where it was posted. She snapped back, it s posted everywhere we can refuse service to anyone on their phone . I simply wanted to know because it s new to me. I haven t stepped foot in a DMV since COVID. We continue on and I m waiting on my plates and registration. They re still talking about these people as they come in and out trying to have correct documentation and I muttered, wow. What an experience this has been . The lady snapped and told me verbatim, If I didn t like it I can go somewhere else because I live in Champaign and didn t even have to come here . Power trips. Disgusting character flaws. The people in Illinois who pay taxes literally fund your paycheck. Why is it state workers are the most unpleasant people and get away with it. Right to refuse service . Will never be back and have filed an official complaint with the State of Illinois. Nobody should be treated like this in a place that is not considered easy to navigate. I work in a dealership and have to work directly with the SOS. You never know who you re being rude to.

Service was fast, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Jennifer assisted me and got everything taken care of with minimal hassle and great sensitivity. Top tier customer service.

They have a lot of room for improvement, and they need to remember there is a job to be done, and that work is not a social hour. They all should be in comedy. Each situation warrants a reaction from each worker every time, and they are not focusing on the task at hand. Need 1 person answering the phones and doing stickers, and the other people need to start focusing more on providing the services they are paid for instead of interacting with coworkers and causing distractions just to follow up with the excuse that they are short staffed and that is the reason for the long wait. Because it is, in fact, not the reason. I've been to several DMV's in DuPage and Cook County and they are run way more efficient and managed more serious. Also have way more people coming through there per worker. Rantoul has to do better in so many ways but managing the DMV more effectively would be a great start.

I went to write my written and driving test initially as the climate is so cold I was advised to give written first and come back when the weather is warmer . Everything is very smooth if you come very early morning. I took my drive test two days after due to weather. The women who took my test was very nice and explained all the rules before the test . She attend my file on both occasions during the written and drive test. All the staff members are super nice here . When Champaign DMV is crowded I would suggest it's worth to drive to his DMV for your license requirements.

I walked into the most unprofessional government building I have ever been into my entire life. I had all of the correct documentation to get a real id according to the secretary of states website. I also called and verified that what I had would be sufficient for a real id. The person their was obviously trying not to do her job and did not know what she was talking about and literally shouldn't be working there. How is it professional to literally not know what you are doing. Maybe if they turned the radio down and weren't concerned with singing along with AC/DC on the radio they could do there job correctly.

Such a fantastic employee that serviced ALL the work I needed done. Very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. All the employees seemed to enjoy there job and it was a pleasure going there. Had to travel there due to it needing to be a CDL facility.

Come prepared to wait in line and dress appropriately for the weather as you will likely have to wait outside the building. I m not sure why they re doing this because they seem to have ample seating and space inside and Covid restrictions have been lifted.

It was a good experience. The staff wasn't very friendly the first time I went there. But, Shawn is the best. She is so friendly and sweet. I was nervous before the test but her attitude made it so much easier for me. I hope you guys get Shawn as your driving test instructor.

Fast, caring, and courteousShanna was a huge help and made everything smooth and easy. I had several questions and she knew all the answers right away. This is a DMV that cares about the people that walk in the door, worth any drive you have to do to get there.

The website says the Rantoul office was supposed to be open today, but we go there and there s a paper on the door saying they re taking today off for Veterans Day. Very disappointed.

I renewed my driver's license today and was in and out in about 25 minutes. There was a short line, but it was nothing unbearable. I live in Champaign which had no available appointments, so this location was the next closest and does not require an appointment for services. I found the staff working there to be friendly, efficient, and professional.

Courteous, friendly and most of all very helpful are all appropriate qualities of employees. Took 3 students to take cdl B pretrip, skills and road drive. Shawn worked with all three right up to her lunch time. We were able to finished for all 3 before last scheduled appointment time. Kudos Shawn!! Keep up the GREAT work.

Anyone looking to come here should get there before they open. I made the mistake of getting there 10 minutes after they opened and waited for about 2 hours (it was also the day after a holiday). When it was my turn, getting through everything was efficient.

I came on a Friday evening and it happened to be a very short wait before i was helped (<5 minutes). KERRY was SO nice and supportive!! As a trans person, I did not feel judged at all when changing my name on my license. She was super efficient too and I was out of there within 15 minutes. Fantastic experience overall.

I live in Urbana and needed a replacement and corrected ID. I arrived at the Champaign DMV shortly before 8am today when they open, but I didn't know until that moment that all services are available by appointment only. You can't just go when it's convenient for you , even if you have all the appropriate documents required for what you need, and walk inside to wait your turn. They won't even let you in the first set of doors until they verify you booked that time slot for your appointment. They're so overbooked that not only was I not able to even make an appointment for later today with their automated phone system because it was overwhelmed by being fully booked so far out, but the website also says there aren't any available appointment slots no matter how soon or how far out you try to set it. The employees aren't even allowing anyone to schedule appointments with them directly because all available time slots are completely booked for the next 2 1/2 weeks at least. The only option I was given that had even a small chance to work was to stay glued to the ISOS website or the automated phone system during their business hours and continually keep trying to schedule an appointment in the hopes that someone would cancel theirs at the same time I was trying to submit mine. After working a 12 hour overnight shift before going to the Champaign location only to be told I couldn't even walk in the door and no human, phone line, or website was gonna be able to do anything about it, nor was there any possibility of me getting any assistance at that location for the foreseeable future, "irritated" doesn't begin to explain the emotion I was dealing with. So I eventually snagged a ride from a friend to Rantoul ISOS (where you can show up whenever you please and get assistance, and the ONLY time you have to make an appointment if you're trying to do your CDL driving test). I arrived around 930am. They only allow a small group of people inside at a time due to capacity restrictions to ensure that all patrons inside can maintain the recommended 6ft distance, so I spent the first ~15 minutes standing outside the building waiting in line with about 8 or 9 other people in 12 weather. Once I got inside I was pleasantly surprised. The woman (I think her name tag said Shawn but I'm not positive) who let me and the rest of my "group" into the building was super kind and made sure to warn us they were short staffed (only 4 employees showed up) and they'd get to us as quickly as possible. Each one of those 4 were moving through the customers that were piling up at a steady pace as quickly as possible, and since majority of the customers at that time were there to renew their licenses, the employees would get done with verifying all the necessary paperwork fairly quickly, but were only able to spare one employee at a time to complete the behind the wheel portion of their test instead of being able to send 2-3 at a time like when they're fully staffed. The ladies were all efficient, courteous, and they did it all without being rude, having an attitude, or slowing down. While I waited for nearly 2 hours before it was my turn, I was walking out with my newly updated temporary paper ID less than 6 minutes after my number was called. Definitely the first and only enjoyable experience I've ever had at any DMV.

never thought I would give the d m v five stars but they do a great job over in Rantoul I strongly suggest you get your paperwork together take it over there for a quick and easy transaction. We waited about an hour to get in because the line was long on the Saturday morning. Once in we may be waited another 8 to 10 minutes before being served and done.

I m posting this pretty late because I had a death in the family but I went to the Rantoul DMV on August 4th to take my test for my license and that alone but I was graced with the manager Taylor who did an outstanding job of not only telling me exactly what I need to do after (because I had a reinstatement fee) I pass but because there was a 2 hour wait she let me take the drivers portion instead of coming in another day to take the road test. She was patient and aware of the concern I was facing but she ultimately was the one to find a solution to my problem I was facing. I ve never been to a dmv where they actually like the customers. Not only Taylor but the entire team interacted with every single customer sincerely and moved quicker than any other dmv I ve seen. I would know I was there for two hours. If you live in Champaign I recommend taking the 20 min drive to Rantoul it s worth it. Sorry, I m late posting this Taylor. You re awesome.

I was able to get my driver's license today for the first time ever in my life. The people there is nice and even tho I got there at 8am and left at noon it was all worth it. They let 10-16 people in at a time otherwise you're outside in a line.tgey have a good system working

Super great! Friendly staff, was in and out in a flash, and the place was clean. Even the bathroom! Went to take tests for my CLP (passed, thank you very much) and I'll definitely be returning for my CDL when the time comes. Party!! 10/10, will recommend.

Short handed. The people are very nice and helpful. With covid social distancing we had to wait out in the heat for over an hour. .High marks for the employees but there are better ways to handle the situation like making appointments. Management changes ....

DMVs often have a bad reputation, but the ladies at the Rantoul DMV could not have been more helpful or gracious. Moving from out-of-state is always a pain, but they handled our transfers of titles/registrations and our obtaining new driver's licenses wonderfully. Efficient, kind, polite. Thank you so much!
