I didn t arrive until late, after 10pm. There was 1 other couple checking in besides me. The staff was efficient, friendly, and to the point. It was an easy check in. My room was clean and check out the next day was easy also. The only reason I gave them a 4/5 star review is because I didn t get a chance to have breakfast before I left (completely my fault!).

Before I hit the front entry, I was like 'uh oh.' It just looked dirty. Right away, caught the smell was a combination of cleaning products and cigarette smoke. Then, saw the sign that the pool was closed. Strike two. Then we got to the rooms. Stains on the bedding. Way overdue for a remodel. About half the size of a typical hotel room. The *very nice* attendant (credit where it is due) said he would refunded the direct reservation right away; but that I had to go through Expedia to initiate a claim for the refund of the other room. They made it difficult, but my account was ultimately refunded.

Beware! Do not use this hotel! It's disgustingIt was late at night when we arrived. The 1st room we were given did not have heat. The thermostat had a burn mark by the heat side so it wouldn't work. The second room we got smelled like cigarette smoke and the sheets looked wrinkled and used. There were hairs and some kind of crumbs on the sheets. By this time we were tired and just slept on top of the top sheet. This is unforgiveable-it should never happen!. I asked to have the manager/owner call me but he's apparently too busy for good customer service. We deserve a full refund for this disgusting mistake!

The price was nice, the room was nice, but it just had a weird layout. My kids really liked the river view. We got in too late to be able to use the pool and left before we could get pictures of the breakfast area. The lighting was weird in the room. It had one wall sconce and then had full wall over the bed lighting along with full wall mirrors. The "mini" fridge has been one of the bigger fridges we've seen in a room and it was nice. The counter/table were the microwave felt very random. Didnt use the microwave. Beds were a firmer style, i liked but kids didnt. The bathroom had nice bright lighting, a fan, and one of those sauna style lights. Had enough towels for us, and the shower was hot and in good shape. The only downside was that our toilet was loud, and we had to jiggle the handle to get it to stop running. Also, you had to make sure the room door was pushed/pulled closed because it didn't just auto latched when let go.Breakfast was alright. It had a waffle maker(waffles were not crispy when made), a toaster with white/wheat breads, peanut butter and jelly, and blueberry packaged muffins. Three types of cereal, chafing dishes with egg patties and sausage links, a min fridge with two types of yogurt, and jugs of milk. The area had a nice size seating area, a tv, and a view of the river. It also had another counter with some oatmeal packets, a Folger's automatic coffee machine, and apple/orange juice dispenser. This is a pet friendly hotel, and the night we stayed, we saw multiple dogs, and they were all well-behaved. Overnight, we didn't hear any barking, but you could that morning when everyone was awake. They had two vending machines, candy/miscellaneous and a bottled drink. Nice variety of bottled drinks, but the bottles of water were priced the same as the sodas($2.75). We didn't get candy, so I'm not sure if the other machine worked or what the prices were. The overnight staff was a little abrupt, the gal in charge of the breakfast was friendly, and the morning front desk guy was very nice.

All in all, it's not a bad place. Suites, if you get one are basic, clean and nice to have. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Check-In does take sometime for whatever reason. Biggest issue I had was a few roaches in the room and hot water was not working in the AM. I would probably give it 1 more shot staying there, but I will wait a little bit.

Some rooms are super quiet but others are really noisy. Can hear other people talking through the walls. Side door slams and keypad has been broken with wires hanging out for at least a year so it just locks you out. Location is far from any stores. Beds are comfy. I've gotten really good sleep here and also very poor sleep. I stay every month. Sometimes twice a month.

I didn't realize "Micro" wasn't just a name. The rooms are tiny, I couldn't even squeezed the luggage cart inside. For the price, I'd say it's fair, just understand that it's a very basic room. If you're like 300+ pounds, you might not fit in the door.Other then the size, it was clean, and the service was fine.

My husband had a very early surgery time, so we basically just needed a clean room with a mini fridge. We got just that. Upon arrival, in which we were early, they allowed us to check in before time, which was very nice. Vending machines were fully stocked (prices varied). Our Queen Suite was flawed but functional. When we got in the room, everything was shut off, the fridge & air conditioning took a good half hour to get going. Once it was going, it was satisfying. A few outlets didn't work. Lighting was very dim. The bed was super comfortable. Our riverside view was filled with trees and a dirty window. We had to keep opening the back of the toilet, after we flushed because the hose wasn't filling up the tank properly. We did not get to enjoy the pool or breakfast, due to our early exit. The front desk lady was super nice when we arrived and the morning desk attendant was very cheery, checkout was smooth and the price of stay was reasonable.

Beautiful view of the Mississippi and the beds don't suck. But the plumbing is LOUD and the water doesn't get hot. Staff says to "let it run" which basically means the plumbing is garbage.Okay for a stop on a road trip for a night, but wouldn't recommend for longer.

We travel with our very well manner dog and it's a challenge finding a hotel that's not a complete dump. This very nice hotel was nice for the price. It was fairly clean, the staff worked hard and were pleasant, our bed was comfortable and the linens decent. We had a wonderfully hot shower and the breakfast was pretty good. (The coffee wasn't that great though.) The surrounding area was run down in part, but we thought our hotel was decently maintained. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

The room smelled like cigarette smoke. The hair dryer was smashed but a temporary was provided. The breakfast was uninspired with mostly garbage food. If I were diabetic, other than black coffee there were no options. We ate at a local restaurant. No coffee machine in the room. Staff were generally present. There were no paper towels or sanitizer in the "gym." This is a tired hotel and should cost $75 a night. We won't pick it again when we go to Quincy.

I was very dissatisfied with my stay. When we got to our room it had clearly been smoked in. I called the front desk and asked if we could be moved and they said they didn't have any other rooms. So I asked for a discount and they said they could not do that but they could spray air freshener. Like that was going to help. Not to mention the weed smell coming from the elevator. This place was very dirty and I will not stay there again.

It s not hard to figure out that when you pull up, it s not what you thought you booked. No smoking rooms, smell like smoke or marijuana. Pillows, brutal. They ve all been washed too many times and are disfigured. Bath drain is a chore and the overall feel is dated and dingy. My shampoo they so nicely left for me was almost empty with goo on it. I had to run to Walgreens. This is more of a Motel 6, definitely not a Wyndham property. Side note, it seems people are living here on discounted rates. Children screaming in a room and another when they opened the door looked like 10 people were living in there. Never again .

Very easy to check in, room is great for the price and it's right on the Mississippi!Rooms: Room is very clean and organized! Great size and easy to find in the hotel as well.Nearby activities: There's a few restaurants and bar and grills in walking distance. Not even a 3 minute walk from Riverside bar and grill which had amazing brisket and bbq sauces!Walkability: The hotel is right on the river and near a lot of downtown places with sidewalks everywhere.

Great location in the historic downtown in Quincy, Illinois. The rooms were nice and cozy. Room service is limited to trash and towel service however.Walkability: Within a 10 minute walk to historic Washington Park and Villa Katherine. Also close to nice restaurants.

Background: I travel approximately 75-80 nights per year from coast to coast. I am a member of 4 of the big hotel chains. (Some regions will have one hotel and not the other, so I joined all 4). IHG is the one I frequent 95% of the time. (Tried to cut corners this time and got burned).I noticed the smell of smoke upon waiting to check in in the lobby. I had been driving for several several hours and I was tired, hungry, and had a pretty substantial headache. Tabitha checked me in and up to the 3rd floor we went. (I had my kids with me). As soon as I opened the door, I smelled more smoke. My head started to pound harder. I immediately started flipping on all of the light switches to look around as the room was pretty dark even if you opened the curtains to let in the sunlight. (The stellar view of the Mississippi is the only thing this place had going for them). I noticed the light above the couch didn't work at all. I made my kids sit on the foot of the bed and not touch anything. My head is pounding double time at this point with the constant smoke smell.I turned the TV on that's near the bed. ALL of the channels were extremely fuzzy/ grainy and not clear. The sound was clear but the picture was terrible. No one could watch a movie or a TV program as bad as the picture showed. I didn't even try the other TV because I refused to sit on the dark couch in the dark that I couldn't even inspect because the light was not working.I received a call from Dominoe's saying my pizza was in the lobby. (I ordered it online while we were still outside). We went downstairs. We weren't in the room for 10 full minutes. By this time, my head was throbbing so bad that I could barely see. I took the pizza and went back over to the front desk.I told Tabitha that I couldn't stay in that room and that I'd like my money back. She was very personable and seemed nice. She asked if I'd like another room and I politely declined. Side note: I've traveled enough to know when "the next room" will be different/sufficient OR when "the next room" will be the same or worse. She then informed me that only the manager could issue refunds and that he was not there. She said that I could call back between 7am and 3:30pm to speak with him on the following day. She also handed me one of his (Aryan's) business cards. We left and booked a room elsewhere.I called the front desk the next morning around 7:40am and Bridget informed me that the manager was not there. I told her that Tabitha said that I could reach him at 7. Bridget stated that he didn't come in until 9am. At this point, I knew this would be a "run around" situation. When basic communication is a "miss", that's a red flag. She asked if she could be of assistance and I told her not unless she had been authorized to refund my stay. She asked for my name and room number. She found the reservation and read the notes that the manager put in... sadly, he claimed that all the lights were working, the tv was in HDMI mode, and the room did not smell of smoke. He ended his notes with, "no refund at this time." I thanked her for her time and told her I'd call back.I checked my phone to make sure I hadn't missed a call from the time I left that hotel up to the time I got off the phone with Bridget. I had not. I didn't expect Mr. Aryan to do the right thing and follow up. I found the corporate number for Wyndham and called to inform them in detail about my poor experience.I called the hotel front desk sometime later and Mr. Aryan refused to speak with me. He told Bridget to tell me that he saw my corporate complaint come through, so he'll handle it through corporate. The crazy part is, I would've never called corporate had he at LEAST addressed me and my experience and told me when I could expect to see the charges reversed. Hopefully this helps someone dodge a bullet.
