Do not go to Dave s. First, we took our jeep there for acceleration problems but was sold a throttle body for $900 and two weeks later, the truck wasn t working properly again and brought it back where they said it was an electrical connection problem and charged us another $700 to clean connections with the plugs. A month later, it started having the same issue with no acceleration and lights coming back on. Spoke to another mechanic/friend who told us you can t use after market parts on jeeps and while replacing the throttle body for the second time, found the plugs full of moisture and corroded and could only get one apart because the other was glued together. He should have explained the plugs needed to be replaced rather than just clean them. If you re selling us an after market throttle body, should have guessed the plugs were also reused. On top of the bolts holding the throttle body in, were stripped out!

I went to Dave's to inspect my brakes that were wearing out fast, they were not thorough and only replaced pads and rotors which caused further issues and cost me another set of brakes and caliper replacement and denied any fault. I went to another mechanic who was able to diagnose clogged brake hose and same day repair.

Alternator:WARNING:MAKE SURE TO GET PRICING SORTED OUT ON PAPER BEFORE allowing these guys to do any work.i brought my jeep to be looked at and turns out i need a new alternator. Spoke to Dave on the phone and asked whats the cost before they start the work, and was told top 550. When i went to pick up, they charged me 345 for a used alternator and 325 for labor + tax, etc on my invoice. - Dave said the alternator was a pain. i wouldnt mind paying that price if Dave was upfront on the estimated cost, or at least call back and let me know 'oh by the way, this may cause more etc", NADA. i showed up with a $200 more.

This is the first time I brought my car to a place that wasn't a dealership and I had no idea what to expect. I was amazed that I was offered a loaner car from an independent mechanic. I had my car towed to Dave's Auto Clinic the same week that coincidentally was the busiest week of the year at my employer. I informed Dave that I would be at work 14 hours a day and even booked a hotel room minutes from my work in order to save time commuting every day. Dave allowed me to keep the loaner car until I had time to return it, 5 days after my car was fixed. I truly appreciate the fact that Dave was willing to work around my schedule and accommodate my needs. Due to the excellent customer service I received, I will definitely bring my car to Dave because of the level of trust I have in Dave.

Dave s auto repair was recommended by a friend and he sure came through for me. A National muffler chain wanted more than $900 to replace a section of exhaust and Dave s crew made the repair for less than half of that. They fixed my car and were honest about what needed to be fixed. Not sure if I just went on a bad day because there were some weird vibes. Like when I was about to leave after they fixed my stabilizer link pins Dave said I didn t have a catalytic converter when I do have it (I checked and took photos so multiple people can verify I do have my catalytic converter). It was just weird like if I didn t have it why would you tell me right when I m about to leave and not address it right away? And why would you say I don t have it when I do??? Maybe he was thinking of a different car? It just made me feel very uncomfortable. I also mentioned to them that my dad fixed my lower ball joint last year just so they know the work that s been done in the area where the noise was and he was a little passive aggressive and said my dad can fix it instead or something along those lines. Maybe I just came on a bad day im not sure. As i was waiting for my car I noticed that they have plenty of regular customers coming in so maybe I just got unlucky with this experience, but I m not coming back

I get in trouble. Get stock on grocery parking lot 1hour from my house. I called Dave's Auto Clinic for estimate. For old 2001 Toyota Echo starter change they give me estimate price $75 towing(two blocks) & $500 for starter change. I called my friend asking for help. He told me to take wrench for taking willows off and knock few times on starter. I did and car started. Local mechanic will charge me $150 for this job.

Dave has always been there for us; detailing a car for my husband after he lost his job and putting tires and fixing my son's car to get him safely to his journey. We appreciate Dave a lot and he's a great mechanic!

I've been a customer for 15 years and I have been consistently satisfied with their work. They are not the most expensive shop, nor are they the cheapest. You get what you pay for however and all of my repairs throughout the years on a number of my cars and my families cars have been absolutely solid.The owner, Dave, is courteous, conscientious and honest. His work has always been reliable and his advice invaluable.I could not recommend this shop more highly.

Dave and his staff do great work. I had a problem with a blower motor. They removed the damaged motor and noticed that a critter may have moved in to the heater box. They removed what they needed to in order to clean out all the debris. They installed the new motor and everything is working great!

Totally Dishonest!My wife works out in the area and her car was breaking down. Misfiring and engine light on. I told her to drop it off at the nearest shop (Dave's Auto Clinic) and leave the keys in the drop box since it was after hours. I called dave and informed him that my wife dropped off our car. He took a look and informed us that it's a coil that went bad, which was my suspicion as well because our car had issues in the past with coils.Since the intake manifold had to be removed to replace the coil I suggested to replace all three coils back there. I specifically asked Dave since the manifold will need to be removed will he also replace the gaskets/seals (which is standard practice when removing the manifold). He replied with the answer "of course". Well that was BS because 6 weeks later the car starting idling low and dying out at stop lights. I brought it in to our local trusted mechanic and they did a diagnostic check. They found that the intake manifold gasket/seals were old and not new at all, therefore causing an air leak. I would have called Dave and brought it in there for them to look over but since I could not trust them at that point I figured it to be pointless. Had to dish out another $260 to our trusted mechanic to take the manifold off and install the new gaskets/seals which Dave should have done to begin with. I'll never go back to Dave's and never refer anyone to them. Another unhappy customer of Dave's, what a surprise.

Dave has been our loyal mechanic for years. Today went shopping, stop the car shot off the engine pulled the key out and nothing stuck. After messing around, call Dave s. Within five minutes his mechanic showed up, looked the car over and pointed out the problem.I didn t have the shift lever in PARK!Asked for the charge .Dave replied NO CHARGE! Is That Service or not.Dave, Thank You!Ed D

Brought the car in that had multiple issues, and it was fixed the next day. Quick service and very reasonable prices. Very glad that I could find this place so close to my home. Will definitely use Dave's shop next time around.

After our mechanic went out of business, we sought a new shop. We came upon Dave's who has provided consistent and courteous service. They charge pretty standard pricing and I will continue to patronize this establishment so long as they keep up their service.

Dave listens. And then he takes the time needed to really figure out a problem before jumping to conclusions. My dealer quoted me $6,000 and recommended I junk my car. Dave figured out the real issues, fixed the car for $1500 and it's run great ever since!I highly recommend Dave's Auto Clinic!!!

Took my car in for a water leak. Had to bring it back 3 times because it wasn t repaired. Not only did they still not fix it after the fourth trip, they gouged my dashboard, they messed up my glove box so now it just drops instead of being gentle close. Not to mention when I brought it in for a known water leak, they left it outside in a thunderstorm uncovered so it got even more water in it. Each time I took it in, they had the car for at least 3 days, sometimes up to a week. Worst service I ve ever had. If you ever have a water leak, take it to Auto Glass plus in Arlington heights.

I took my car there for misfire issues. I was told that the valve covers need to come off even though the compression test came back fine. I then took my car to another shop and after 10 minutes I received a call to let me know that one of my plug wires had a huge burn on it from sitting against my headers and that it had a huge split in it causing it arch out. It seems to me that plugs and wires would be the first thing to check in a reported misfire. I was charged almost $200 for unnecessary time and labor. Not quite sure how this was missed but I will not be bringing my car there again

I found Dave's about 10 years ago. Very accommodating, friendly and honest real 'neighborhood' feeling local shop. Not to mention they provide loaners and offer discounts. I don't go anywhere else.

Dave's always takes care of my SUV and even has provided me with a loaner car if needed. AC just went and he is recharging while I wait. Great service.

Dave has been in business for a long time. He is a great shop for repairs on all makes and models. He does only what is needed and provides guidance on additional work that may be necessary.

Dave's Auto recommended unnecessary repairs for my Chevy Malibu. It's a common shady auto shop tactic in the Chicago area. I brought my car to another repair shop and they said I didn't need the repair work that Dave's did. Needless to say I will not be bringing any of my family's cars back to Dave's auto.

We've driven some real clunkers over the years, and Dave has always kept them moving for us. No job too small, or too large. He's always got a loaner for us in cases where we need one.

My job took me here to survey the property. The owners in the office were very nice people. I have no idea about their services but their attitudes were positively infectious! Have a great day :)
