This is the second vehicle I have had brakes and rotors put on. They always have done a great job and I ve never had any issues. Also, they are very convenient when scheduling an appointment and confirming repairs online.

Unfortunately for Tuffy, the last few visits have been unsatisfactory. However, I will only discuss my most recent visit on 12/2/23. Went in for an oil change and used a $20 off coupon I received from that location for a prior issues they wanted to rectify with me. The associate was reluctant to accept it at first muttering something about it being from prior management but honored it after all. The issue came when he gave back my vehicle. His team could not reset the maintenance dashboard alert. He said we tried the easy method and with our $5000 error scanner if the alert bothers you, you can take it to the dealer and they can use their Toyota scanners. The Mechanic is sending me to another mechanic that can complete the job correctly got it! I went home, jumped on YouTube, and no more than 2 minutes later reset the unbeatable dash error that was told would need dealer help to resolve. Not a good look for you guys. I really tried to make this my go-to shop because of the proximity but your shop has convinced me otherwise. It s back to Fluid MotorUnion for me.

I needed brakes on both of my SUV's. Tuffy staff always did their own inspection and gave me very good pricing. I haven't had any issues and would recommend them to anyone.

Horrible. These guys don t have a clue as to what they are doing or what is really needed. Everything is cookie cut as they use computers and other digital scripts to diagnose and provide repair instructions. Went in impromptu with a torn belt and came out $2000+ later with new water pump, thermostat and other unnecessary repairs, yet car heat was not working (and both heat and AC were working fine before car went in). They had car for weeks and then said it would cost $4000 for further repair. Folks there have these inflated titles - District Manager, etc and come to find out it s only for the location in which they service so good luck with any attempts to escalate.I had car towed to my normal service guy who was unavailable but had heard the horror stories and said he would make time to review and repair. He repaired in a couple of coupe days for $600. He gave me the thermostat they put on and showed me that it was defective and only partially opening. They said they had problems burping the car when changing the fluids. He said that the car has a special temperature control setting that needs to be enacted that they were apparently unaware of, and it was doubtful that a new thermostat was even needed. Further, he showed me pictures of where they applied glue in an attempt to hold the hose down (that they replaced when they broke in their attempt to repair) because they had the wrong plastic seal that cost less the $5.STAY AWAY from these guys. They are a franchise biz and not a legit auto repair biz. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

I got an oil change. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I dropped my vehicle off and was not in a rush. The work was still completed quickly.

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS PLACE! Do not bring your car in if it needs more than an oil change. Chris the assistant manager and Ron the regional manager have no idea what they are doing and very unprofessional. I brought my car in to check an engine light and a failed emissions test. Diagnostics cost me 167 dollars. They were not able to probably diagnose my car and figure out what was wrong after 2 attempts. The first day all they tried to do was "clear" the computer to make the check engine light go off. Of course it went back on. Brought it in a second time and my car sat there for 8 hours without it being looked at. Apparently the regional manager, Ron had to go there to look at it because no one else in the shop that day was certified to figure out what was going wrong. He was not able to figure it out either. They told me to bring my car in a third time but I just wanted a refund. Literally after two days of them having my car, it sat there without being looked at and they couldn't figure out what was going wrong. They refused to give me my money back. Chris never communicated with me and always directed my concerns to Ron. Ron was very unprofessional. He told me I was being unreasonable. Please do not bring your car into this place! They took my money and had no answers for what was wrong with my car! I will be contacting Better Business Bureau and filing a report on this place.

This Place is the best and most trustworthy garage I've ever used!!!!My fiancee has been taking her cars there for years. When my sons car broke down, she referred me to TUFFY! 1000% HAPPY.

Excellent work and they were accurate as to time repair would take. Walked over to menards and did some shopping, by the time I got back work was complete. LOL Competitive pricing also. Definitely will return when needed.

We went to Tuffy for an engine light and ended up getting an oil change too. They do not try to over sell, not pushy.They were very reasonably priced and VERY kind! They are caring, their waiting room is very nice and clean and smells good too, not like other shops that smell like gas/oil! We now go to them for all of our vehicles and needs! Highly recommend!

Do no bring your car here to get anything done. Terrible service and unprofessional. They over charge and they make up diagnoses up with your car. I brought my car into two different shops and couldn't believe what Tuffys Plainfield was trying to charge and what they recommended me to get done. Bring your car anywhere else but this place. Incompetent mechanics!

My car was towed here. Store Manager John and his staff were top-notch helpful at every step of my experience with this store. I had text messages and phone calls at every turn throughout the care of my car. I never wondered what was going on. I absolutely recommend this this place. Tuffy always has been very nice and will look out for you. These guys here are true customer service. They are happy to help with any concerns and do it with a smile............................ 3 years later... I been coming to this place alot for repairs and been having nothing but issues lately.. The quality here has been lost. I hate to say it but I brought my wife's car in to get a wiper issue that took them over 2 weeks to repair and it was a 10 dollar wire. But i already paid for a wiper motor and was installed so i dont think it even was the issue originally... The manager said for my troubles he would give me a hundred dollar credit cause he wanted to do right by the issue and inconvenience. Well I needed an oil change and low and behold there is a new manager and will not honor the 100 off. He says I can give you something off from the internet but it's not going to be the 100 bucks. I think it will be the last time I come here cause I had alot of other stuff done and always became issues and WAITS. This Empty promise was the last draw. I typed this while waiting to get my last oil change here. And sent this as my Farwell letter. So disappointing and that sucks. Tuffy you really need to get back to what you ever were 3 years ago. P.S. the oil change with point checks is taking over an hour when I had a 3:30pm. appointment. A 5 star down too 2 star. And it's only 2 cause at one point I liked this place. Not anymore now. Now I am dealing with them not able to pay from synchrony card this is just getting even worst. Now it's a 1 star. This can't be happening.

$130 for an oil change? When I questioned it they told me my yukon takes 8 quarts like that justified the cost. I miss Wal-Mart auto. Oil change less than $50

I brought my car in for an oil change and was very Impressed by the great customer service John provided. John is very professional and knowledgeable and kept me informed throughout the process. He made sure that my vehicle was thoroughly inspected and provided detailed explanation of what is required. I definitely recommend this place for your car maintenance.Service: Oil change

Worst experience. Front desk person has no clue, they confirmed my appointment a week before for transmission oil change for my car make and model. As soon as I go there on the day of appointment, they said they have to order the transmission oil. What is the point of appointment? The front desk lady is unapologetic and defensive. No wonder why these guys have 2.5 rating in yelp. Hope they have people who ll knows what they are doing.Services: Transmission, Oil change

I ve been bringing my vehicles here for several years. The staff is friendly and helpful. Their work is solid and timely. When the (very) rare post-repair issues came up, they bent over backwards to make things right. They ve even done a trivial repair for free on my car directly in the parking lot (cutting loose a dangling panel under the engine). Awesome buncha people.

I totally recommend using Tuffy on 135th in Plainfield. The business is under new management, John and Danielle are very personable and knowledgeable. They are up front and let you know what is wrong and what needs to fixed in order of nessisity. The Tuffy staff at 135 and Rte59 is Exceptional. They are very friendly and knowledgeable and have great customer service. I dropped off my truck for some work and instead of making me wait there for 3 hrs like all the other shops I was personally dropped off by Christina at home and picked up when the truck was ready. I will recommend them to everyone I can.
