I always get great service from Tuffy. They are family owned, very honest and personable. I have been going there for years. Now my daughter has her 1st car, I will only her goes there as well..

Went in for an oil change had a great experience everyone there is very professional. I talked with Eric, I m not sure if he was the manager or not but he answered any questions I had all while dealing with other customers both on the phone and in person. Great customer service!

Tim and crew are the very best mechanics. I would not hesitate taking them any auto issue. I love them so much, I bought them a dozen donuts from Donut Den. That's how great a shop.

I have used their services 3x, they do excellent work, and I can trust them. My son-in-law recommended them, and they have been very honest and tell the truth if it is fixable or not. It's hard to find people like that now.

Had an appointment for an oil change and A/C recharge. I got my car there at 9:15 am. I called to check progress and nothing was done yet. That would have been ok if not for the short attitude from the guy that answered the phone. I sure he was the same guy at the front desk with attitude when I picked it up. These were not major repairs. The point of an appointment is to respect the time of the business and the customer. I held up my end. Maybe they re doing so well that they didn t my small maintenance repairs. Obviously, it didn t matter that it was the third car I ve taken to them. I assumed it was the place when I needed work done. I just wish they would have declined my appointment if it wasn t worth their time

Have always had a positive experience here! Today topped the cake! We got their before the seller of the car. Nice gentlemen behind the counter(sorry I'm older and names don't stay anymore) they looked up the vin and unfortunately the miles on the car we wanted to purchase had been rolled back by over 100 thousand miles!!!! Thank you kind gentlemen at Tuffy!!! I work to hard for my money to throw it away!

I definitely do not recommend them. After $1,500 worth of work, the next day my car did the exact same thing I took it in for. They said drive it a couple of days and it will go away, 2 weeks later still had the same problem. Took it back only to be quoted a certain amount and was told they didn't include labor this time. I go to pick it up, and was charged 3 times the amount, and labor was included. Funny how the guy had just left who gave me the quote. They ended up reducing amount, but not to quoted amount, and held my car hostage. I had to pay it. Only to drive off and have an emmision light on that wasn't on before. Not to mention they kept my car 5 days the first time, and four the second. Also a few of those mechanics are pretty rude. Never ever going back there! ***Reply to below, put it in my husband's name, I know half of your staff now, and no thank you to your help, because you have done enough. This is not a story, they are facts, and I have my paid records. I definitely have the right shop.

My family and I have been taking our cars to Tim and John for 10 years now. They have always come through which is why I recommend them to my friends. While there are many options out there to repair ones vehicle, in my opinion, having someone I can trust is at the top of the list. There is a reason they are always busy...people seem to trust them! Tim Floss and his Tuffy team are top notch! I have been bringing my cars here for years and have always been impressed with the service they provide and the price is always more than fair. Tim always goes above and beyond for his customers as he did again for me today. What a great business. Tim you will have my business as long as I'm in Illinois!

10 STARS TO TUFFY! John and Tim are the BEST around. Patient, friendly, HONEST (which is definitely a plus), prices are reasonable, and they get your car done as soon as they can which is FAST! When I moved here 2 yrs ago, I started going to Tuffy and they haven't yet failed me yet. They are good people and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to them for your car repair needs!

Perfect service! I am a college student who doesn t really have too much money to be spending on my car. As I was driving home from work my tire was punctured by an industrial staple from the construction on the roads. I was worried I had to spend a load of money on a new tire, but I gave them a call and they said they could fix it for a great price. I dropped off the tire and came back when it was ready and right when I got there the guys jacked up the car and threw it on quick. Super cool guys to chat with and definitely the perfect spot to go for good work done on any of your cars needs.

Honest and ethical guys here at Tuffy on Rt 59! They fixed a problem that wasn t theirs to fix without hesitation. I will definitely be spending my money here instead of at the dealership from now on. 100% recommend!

This is far more the best auto repair service company that I ve been to in all my years of driving . I ve lived in the area for over 10 years and recently moved about and hour away. I still drive to Tuffy for my repairs reason being Tim and John have consistently went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied and my truck was safe and repaired properly. They make me feel secure and feel safe driving , being a woman that knows nothing about cars . They always take the time with me and have patience explaining the process of what s needed and what was done. Quality customer service is hard to find and you will definitely find it here. Thank you John and Tim and I am so blessed to have developed a great relationship with them.

Went in to get a tire patched up. Said no problem got my info and grabbed my tire brought it to the entrance and some guy in the shop yelling with an attitude that I'm not patching that its not new enough and I ask if I could get a price on a new one but the same guy with the attitude yelling you have to buy all 4 new tires and we have to put them on. Went down the street to Mavis and they patched it for free without any attitude. Don't let unintelligent mechanics talk to customers they are rude, dumb, and loosing business hopefully you realized the problem. He's probably the self entitled son of the owner either way it ruined my experience I went there because of local reviews but they are a lie.

My husband and I have taken our cars there for at least 3 years at least. I've had issues and called they've been to the point, honest and fair. I've recommended to people I know. Brandon is usually the one the answers when I call and is just the best young man.

My family has been going to Tuffy for over 10 years and have only recieved excellent service. The staff is always friendly and never talks down to me. If you are on a tight budget they will work with you to help you out and they will list all the repairs you need in order of importance. Over the years I have had all 5 of our cars and vans to this location. They are honest, respectful and compete the job on time. I do not spend a lot of time writing reviews because I just never been moved to do so for bad or great service... However, I wanted to express to Tim and his staff thank-you for all the years of wonderful service.

It's hard to find any place that genuinely cares and has GREAT customer service! Tim runs this place like EVERY business should be run. They are honest with you and they don't play games. I recommended them to a friend from out of town that ran into some car problems while here and Tim Tuffy :) did NOT disappoint. I've been taking my cars here for over 10 years! No need to go anywhere else! Highly, highly, highly recommended 100 time over!

Tuffys is hands down the best shop around. You know how most of us had " A Guy" when we lived in the city? Well Tim is your guy. Best prices. BEST SERVICE! No beats the "turn around" time. I had a full engine replacement on a 2015 Dodge Challenger done here. 3 days! Yes, You read it right. 72 hours and I had my car back. BEAT THAT! YOU CAN'T. Good with all makes and models. If you can't wrench on your own vehicles, This is the most trustworthy place to go. PERIOD! I wish I could give them 10 's!

Amazing first experience and will definitely go back. Ran there for a screw in tire and will now return for other issues in the future. Tim Floss who I believe was the owner, and staff were super nice. They helped us entertain my 5yr old who was bored. Returning customer in there gave it a family feel. Nice to see some places still greet and engage with customers and make you feel right at home. Would definitely recommend!

The service at this Plainfield facility on Route 59 near Caton Farm Road is excellent. Employees are all knowledgeable and friendly. Building has a clean, comfortable waiting room. Pricing is reasonable. They never do work you don't need, and I for one appreciate their honesty as does my wallet. Would highly recommend. Note: Do make an appointment for your work whether it is an oil change or other. The facility has such a high quality of customer service & care that they are always busy.

I ve had my oil changed, tires rotated, battery replaced, and engine worked on here. I trust them completely for two very specific reasons:I had a part in my engine go bad (it would later be recalled) and took the car to Tim for the work. He said the part was on back order everywhere and could take a month or two to come in. I told him to place the order and I d just have to wait. It turns out his supplier had been holding onto one of these rare parts and decided to give it, his only one, to Tim. I got my car back a few hours later. Tim has always been very friendly and personable with me, but this occurrence shows me that he is this way with everyone. That supplier knew it was a hard to get part and could have sold it to anyone, but he picked Tim as soon as he called. That tells me a lot.John helped me out one day with a door issue I was having. It was catching on the top of the back door. I had this problem previously and, left unchecked, it resulted it some pricy body work at another shop. He took a look at it, rammed a rubber piece back in with his hand, and sent me on my way. Problem solved, no charge. He easily could have took my car, tinkered around, and charged me for it. I would have had no idea what the problem was and just been happy it was fixed. Instead, he showed a tremendous amount of honesty and was more interested in helping me than charging me.I will always come here as long and Tim and John are around.Services: Tires, Engine repair, Battery, Oil change

Again Tuffys came through with amazing honesty! I took my sons 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a misfire code on cylinder 4. My son had tried to fix the misfire by changing the plugs and coils on all the cylinders. Well after he did the work it still had a misfire code on cylinder 4. He figured it must be a different problem. Tim worked on the car and quickly discovered that my son did not quite seat the coil on cylinder 4. Crazy coincidence! My point is.... this would have been an easy chance to claim something else was wrong. It would have been easy to claim it was something like the fuel injectors were bad because an air/gas problem could throw that code. But he didn t, he simply seated the coil and told me the truth. I appreciate tuffys and Tim because this is not the first time they have been so honest with me! He was also very pleasant and thorough on the phone explaining what had happened. Great and honest service! You can really trust this place! Thanks so much Tim and great work ethic. I respect that.

I brought my car in for what I thought was going to be a costly repair. The owner was so honest and helpful, along with Nick (who drove me to work). They both took the time to explain everything with my vehicle and even gave me a discount. They are literally the most honest people I have ever brought my car to. I would recommend them to anyone. I will bring my car here from now on!

My husband uses Tuffy's, but I do not. When we started there, I took my car in for brakes. When I picked it up the noise was still there. I drove directly back and tools Tuffy himself. He spoke down to me (the "oh the woman doesn't understand manly things") and actually asked me if I understand how brakes work? I never went back.

Absolutely the best service we could hope for! We found Tim and his team through a referral from a friend a few years ago. Their shop was 30 minutes from our house but we figured it was worth a try because of the referral. It's been over five years and we wouldn't take our cars anywhere else. Tim and his team are always professional, take time to explain things and offer an option if there is one, never overcharge and are reliable with estimates & when the vehicle will be done. We drive past at least fifteen other mechanics with all three of our cars to get to Tim's Tuffy - but it's well worth it. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Thanks Tim!

I visited Tuffy to have light bulbs replaced. The owner was very kind to me. They changed them quickly and were very fair and honest about the work. I've had work done on my car by Tuffy many times and I would highly recommend them to everyone who needs their vehicles repaired.

Finally I have my shop. I always hear people said they have a guy or shop for their car. For all these years I go from shop to shop, and never happy with any of them. A friend introduced me to this shop in 2019. I have been going there since then. They are truly honest people and they are patient and takes care of their customers.Just today, as I parked my car before I walked in the shop, I saw one of their stuff member were outside, under the hood of a car fixing something. I went inside and sit down. 5 minutes later the man came in and said to another man who sat in the waiting room, " you are all set, you are good to go." The man asked how much, the Tuffy guy said, "Don't worry about. "Thats exactly the shop that I want to be in.If you are in the area, this is the shop you should go.

Trust and building a relationship is hard especially when it comes to your vehicle! They give you great service and are honest with you. They break it down in a way I can understand them and my husband and I don't trust anyone else with our cars. Owen is genuine and he looks out for his customers.

Took my 1999 Impala to Tuffy because car would not pass emissions. However car started and drove every time. In my heart I knew car was on its last wheel, and if Tuffy told me they would fix it for whatever I would have payed it. They did not they told me car was not worth putting in anymore money. The car was junk. They were very truthful with me.
