Ken and his team at Midas (University) are the best! I am car-illiterate, so I often need things explained in layman's terms. They took their time explaining the issue with my car, and their solutions to fix it. They provided top-notch customer service, AND my car drives like brand new! HUGE THANK YOU to Ken and his team!

Impossible to change ! I feel so good at ease over there ! With a guy like Ken ! So NICE , PEACEFUL ! He constantly keeps you in a good mood ! It s extraordinary ! What could push you then to leave that place !There is also a famous mechanic there ! I don t know why so far l didn t ask his name ! A black guy ! Tall and strong ! He is so lovable! So nice ! And so competent ! If l was given permission to choose my mechanic each time, for sure l would like him to work every time on my car !Thank you MIDAS UNIVERSITY ! My MIDAS !!!!!

The only plus side was the politeness of girl working at desk. Apon arrival alignment and 2 tires were to be put on.They failed to identify any problems in my husband's car which would keep him from the alignment but was charged for services. The tech that worked on his car after taking it out for a drive let us know it drove great and no problems...so wrong. As soon as we were onto highway noticed problems right away. The tech had failed to balance the tires, failed to align, and took car out for a hot spin down the block.

I had a very detailed problem with my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Ken and George and Nick were wonderful! They are truly interested in customers being satisfied and they. Listen unlike some other tecs/mechanics. They are my go to gentlemen from. Ow on! I've never felt so well treated at a car shop. Thank you men! Midas on University Ave in Peoria, IL is the best. Hands down. Ken who is the Mgr, starts with politeness and patiently listen to the customer. This is so nice and that's initially what drew me in. But the quality work kept me. The team at this shop was a pleasure to be around, easy to talk too and went out of their way to get ball rolling. I was given a choice as to which service would be performed and the cost of each service. The last shop I did business with decided to make the choice for me and tore everything from the underside of my vehicle whether it was usable or not . I will use this shop in the future for whatever automotive needs that I require. I doubt I will have a problem, if by some chance I should I will repost.Thank you,Ken and Gary.

If you own a vehicle manufactured before 2012, their services might be suitable for your needs. However, if your vehicle is newer, I recommend seeking alternative service providers, even for minor maintenance tasks such as brake pad replacements.I recently brought my 2019 BMW X5 in for a brake pad replacement. Before my arrival, I had confirmed with the service department that they were capable of performing this task. Upon my arrival, the manager reassured me that they routinely perform this service and that he personally works on his wife's new BMW X3, so I could rest, assured that my vehicle was in capable hands.Approximately one hour later, I detected persistent knocking sounds emanating from within the workshop. I attempted to investigate the source of the noise on several occasions. However, the knocking ceased each time I approached. I sincerely hope that the vehicle being knocked on is not mine.This sequence of events transpired repeatedly.About an hour after that, the technician comes to get me and says, "Hey, I'm not able to get in and clear the code. Your car isn't letting me. It has a lot of faulty codes.I was in a state of surprise as my vehicle was recently scanned, error code free and in a fully functional condition before its arrival, with the sole exception of an indicator displaying a message that the front brake pads require replacement in the near future, but that continued driving was still permissible.Upon inspecting the vehicle with the technician, several critical warning indicators were displayed on the BMW dashboard & iDrive screen, including notifications for chassis damage, malfunctioning driving assistance systems, brake issues, disabled stability control, and inoperable parking brakes. The vehicle's onboard system advised immediate cessation of operation and instructed me to contact BMW without delay.I was devastated. Upon speaking with the manager regarding the issue, I was met with an unsatisfactory response. The manager suggested that my car may have had pre-existing faults and dismissed my concerns, stating that it was not their responsibility. Despite the fact that the technician who drove my car prior to the service confirmed that it was in good operable condition, the manager disregarded this information and advised me to take my car to a BMW dealership for repairs. The manager's exact words were, "Well, it's your problem. There's nothing we can do."The service center at BMW was unavailable over the weekend, necessitating a cautious drive to the dealership without the use of active brakes or parking brakes.The subsequent repairs at the BMW service center resulted in a pretty $$.I'm just glad my car is back home now. I will not be visiting Midas on North University anymore.FYI: I never like leaving negative reviews for businesses.

Staff was great. Van fixed and stopping on dime with no noises. Would say give them a try. I will be going back for some other work.Another one of the chain is not so good but they won't get a mention here. We will stick to or Olight fan member.t

Warning!Warning!Warning!Warning!Warning! I took my 2013 Dodge charger to this place to have 2 front tires and an alignment done the tires got put on without being balanced and the alignment was not done. The mechanic took my car for about a 1/2 hour drive returned the car told me it ran beautifuly as soon as I drove the car I took notice the steering wheel was turned to the left and the car was pulling to the right my check engine light was on for a moment and my car didn't seem to be running correctly It seemed to be aspirated Immediately called the store back, receptionist told me to bring the car in on Saturday. Then I was called later during that week and told all the mechanics were sick with COVID. I ended up taking my car to another Midas in Bloomington they told me that I was ripped off. My tires had not been balanced and there was no way to do the alignment because there was damage to my control arms. I also took notice that my tires had been spun out to where they melted and there were melted pieces of tire all over my car ( Right after I just had my car detailed). The Midas in Bloomington was with me when I made the call to the Midas in Peoria, To let them know that I was conned out of my money, at that moment they had told me that they had fired the mechanic who had worked on my car they offered me my money back for the alignment but that was all, they would not tell me everything that the mechanic had done to my car although I do remember watching him banging on my car with a hammer underneath the frame which did not make sense to me with all the banging to my car. My lifter is ticking and my car now shifts rather hard. They did fire the individual who worked on my car they offered me an apology but I want the damages to my vehicle taking care of I don't care if you fired the mechanic who destroyed my car you need to pay for the repairs I am currently looking for an attorney. I have taking my car to 2 different shops there's about $5000 in damages. This is a horrible shop. Do not take your car here. Do not take anything here. When I went to get my refunded money back from the $700 spent and only getting a portion. I had to take the police with me just to make sure they didn't accuse me of doing something that I did not do even the receptionist said that I should be given all of my money back for the job. She told this to the police and to her boss she said that she was not aware of what had fully taken place until that momment and she said she would have given the money back to me in full she even agrees that I had been done horribly. She was a very polite and truthful individual more than what I got from anyone else at this business location This is a horrible place. Do not take your car here i want my damages taking care of. Even the police officer said he would not take his car here after listening to what took place Over $5000 in damages.!!!!!!!!! I know the Mechanic took my car drifting My car runs like garbage now it's a $20,000 car

Absolute joke of a place. They failed my rideshare inspection "due to the back brakes being too worn"Attempted to quote almost $600 for a brake pad and rotators. Go the the midas on Glen and brought my old brake pads in that ended up being completely good. Just to find out the control arm on my front was loose and the Midas on University knew about it bit DIDNT SAY A WORD TO ME AND THEY KNEW ABOUT THE CONTROL ARM! DONT GO HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED.Ps. Midas on Glen was absolutely wonderful and communicated effectively. Go there.

Got my vehicle inspected after hearing something was wrong with it. They got me in so quickly and then were able to schedule me for service the same week. Great service, communication, and assistance. Would recommend using them!

I hate to give them one star definitely a rip off $967 for a starter on a Kia and that wasn t the problem I only needed coolant because it was completely empty so it wouldn t start but they said it was the starter. I even told them it s not the starter because it wasn t making clicking noise

These guys are excellent! My brakes went out last week when I was more than an hour away from home, and this was the closest place to where I was and I absolutely lucked out. Sam helped me and was communicative and transparent explaining everything. They were able to get me in and do a ton of work in just two business days. Jason helped me this morning when I went to get my car and was also excellent. If I ever need car work in Peoria again this is where I ll be going- and who I ll be recommending. Once again blown away by the service that this Midas provides!! Jason and Brian have helped tremendously getting our car back in tip top shape! Truly feels like we are driving a brand new car. I called on Saturday to get my car in to be serviced. I worked with Ken at the University location. He was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. He was very informative and thorough. Being a woman, I haven t always had great experiences getting my vehicle serviced, so it was much appreciated!I would highly recommend taking your vehicle into see Ken and the staff at Midas!Services: Wheel alignment, Battery

These men were very professional and very helpful. I was quite relaxed and trusted them. I needed my JEEP to have a safety check all the way around. And the mechanic showed me everything. He was very patient and helpful, as was the Assistant Manager.I had a needed LOF and no one tried to upsell me or anything pushy. It was a great all around experience and I will be back. The entire team at this Midas on University are very friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable and most importantly honest. They were busy yet they honored my appointment. As I waited many came in with various issues and these guys took care of everyone with a smile. It took a a little while to get the battery delivered and they were very apologetic for the wait even when it wasn t their fault! I told them that I suspected I needed a new cabin filter and a/c filter. However they said they looked good and I did not need replacements. Jason, Ken and Les are professional and, I ll say it again, honest! I will not hesitate to return for any of my car issues/needs.Service: Battery

On a recent vacation, we were passing through Peoria on our way to Minnesota. Suddenly our van s censor indicated a rear tire was losing air. Not knowing anything about Peoria, we just took the next exit hoping to find someplace to help. We were directed to Midas as the closest shop. The shop was busy, but we were greeted courteously. After explaining our situation, the manager got someone to help us out. They diagnosed the problem and quickly fixed the tire. We were back on the road in under an hour. And they only charged us $30.Unbelievable service. They took a potentially devastating situation and made it an extraordinary experience. Thanks Midas!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Everybody is so quick to post negative reviews on social media so I wanted to give Ken and his crew at Midas a big thanks & shout out! Been dealing with several car issues since March being that I have a vehicle from 2007. I brought it to Ken at Midas on University for an oil change & diagnostic check. Turns out the sound it was making was a detached muffler bracket, simple fix. Ken took it upon himself to pay for my oil change. I m so thankful especially after all the money I ve had to put into this car, at another shop that wasted my time, not once, but 3x. Ken was so kind and even made it a point to ask me about my schooling.If you re local to Peoria & in need of car maintenance, this is the place to go!
