The proprietor Jim as extremely friendly and helpful and made us a delicious breakfast on Sunday moring. I definitely recommend Timber Creek Bed and Breakfast. I'm sure we will be back.Rooms: Our room was great. Fireplace, Whirlpool bathtub, and big double bed.Safety: Very safe as it is in the middle of nowhereFood & drinks: The website says continental breakfast on Sundays but Jim made us a delicious breakfast the included Strawberries, an egg casserole, English muffins, and jam.

The whole weekend was terrible, DO NOT stay there. Parking, do not park under the trees where you are suppose to unless you like tree sap on your car. The whole lodge was rented by our family. After the 1st night the manager ripped into my sister stating the language used in the past evening was unacceptable. Where was he at to hear what words where used in our conversations? The way everyone was treated terrible, this guy does not belong in the people business. The next day he kept popping up everywhere then he'd disappear kind a creepy. I wont get into the mess he made of the brides maid gathering which was supposed be there other than he had bride in tears within 10 minutes of her arrival. The last night we were there my daughter and grand-children were on the main floor logged into their I-pads not making any noise, he was in the kitchen, doing what at that time of the night is beyond me. My daughter said he peer around the corner to see what they were doing a number of times. The whole time we were there it felt as if we were being watched, uncomfortable feeling. Worst experience ever, will never go there again!!!

If you want a nice relaxing place to go this is it. Timber Creek is fantastic with it's hospitality. I've never been anywhere and felt so welcomed and comfortable besides my own house. The breakfast was wonderful and I'm pretty sure it was made because my 4 year old specifically said she loves eggs. The owner loved my girls and was so sweet to them, he even left them candy before we left. I am so pleased with lovely little place, we will definitely be back.

Owner is a jerk. The whole place (including the cabin) was rented out and prepaid by the groom s family for guests attending my daughter s wedding, which was taking place at a different location. Days prior he said the cabin was unavailable and did not give any refund. Day of wedding the bride and her attendants showed up to get ready for the big event, they were to do hair and makeup there before the big event. Jim Walder inexplicably and with no grounds to do so.. told them they could not get ready there. Umm.. what? They d rented the entire place!!!! After much harassment from Mr. Walder anger, tears from my daughter and a visit from the grooms father, Walder eventually and grudgingly allowed them to use the rooms that had already been paid for, but would not allow the planned brunch to be brought indoors. It could only be eaten outdoors picnic style in the hot July sun. Mr Walder walked through the common area frequently with an angry scowl at anyone who would look his way. The grounds are beautiful. The owner is unstable, rude, unethical, and downright hateful. This place will never see a penny of my money.

Really uncomfortable experience here. The owner Jim seems to either live at the main lodging building or just loiter inside the entire weekend. He very creepily was always present inside the main living areas, and even when he wasn t visible we always had a strong sense of being watched. He verbally attacked one of our party members VERY randomly. We cleaned up after ourselves and respected the property at all times but definitely did not receive mutual respect from him. He seemed to have expectations of a curfew that were never communicated to us. He accused someone of stealing a dish that they brought cookies on from their own home. The creepiness felt like a horror movie by the end of our stay and I was scared to go into the kitchen alone during the night to warm up a bottle for my baby. Absolutely no idea why this guy is in the B&B business, he seemed to loathe every second of our stay besides going off on people at random and spying on us at all times.

Great location. I was a groomsman in my buddy's wedding and it was awesome. Each room has its own shower and plenty of beds throughout the house. The grounds are beautiful. They have a tent you can use for the reception and it's really nice.

Do not go here! The owner should not be in the BnB business. He verbally lashed out to one of my family members, tried to pull out part of his contract, and made the bride cry on her wedding day. Please avoid, go to the cobblestone hotel instead.

My husband and I were recently married at Timber Creek. We had a wonderful weekend with our family and friends staying at the B&B and the wedding was gorgeous. The owners were wonderfully helpful and the setting couldn't have been more beautiful and relaxing. 200 people were easily accommodated and everyone had a wonderful time.

I stayed 3 nights at Timber Creek and highly recommend it. The B&B, its rooms and grounds are just delightful. Connie is a gracious hostess who serves a delicious breakfast. It would be a great alternative to a hotel for those traveling in East Central Illinois around Champaign.

I've visited Timbercreek for a wedding and for many annual church retreats. I've been there 15 times (since 2005) and have stayed in every room. The facility is secluded and amazing! The landscaping is professional, the buildings are beautiful, and the staff couldn't be better! Connie is the hostess who cooks a great breakfast, keeps the place clean, and is friendly and warm always. She is a jewel. I've never had a bad experience at Timbercreek! I've never experienced ANY of the *alleged* problems reported on other posts. Sadly, I think I know why there are essentially only 5 star and 1 star reviews of Timbercreek. Those who have actually visited and seen what a great place it is have left 5 star reviews and those who have less-than-noble intentions to be cyber bullies, trying to destroy a business over their religious convictions, have left 1-star reviews. If you want to visit a great B&B, don't hesitate to give Timbercreek a try!

Absolutely loved the place! We regret we couldn't stay for breakfast, but absolutely enjoyed the hospitality of the host. The rooms are beautiful and enough open space for kids to run around. Definitely look forward to coming back!

The owner of this place harassed my friends...including a small child. He made inappropriate gestures while parking us and then made my wife back the car up to shift over a few inches. There were only 2 Porto potties for a pretty large venue. He also has a thing against older people and kicked a cute old couple out of their room, but I'm not sure why.

Beautiful location for a wedding and reception. The reception tent was a little hot, especially for a sunny July day and could have used some air flow. The cabin was super cute and tucked nicely within the trees.

Horrible. One of our band mates had his wedding here and had a terrible experience with the owner. Do no stay here - the owner, Jim Walder, is extremely rude and unprofessional. He harassed his family and did all he could to ruin that day for them. Will never recommend this place unless it comes under new management.

Never in my life would I think someone who prides themselves on their "Christian values" would treat a young couple trying to get married and trying to celebrate a new chapter in their lives with their families like these people have. Unless you are renting the entire B&B or purchasing the $10,000 tent package, dont bother trying to work with these people, they will show you no patience, kindness, love, ect. (1 Cor. 13:4-8). After losing $425 that these people refuse to refund ($250 being needed to hold the wedding date, they refuse to give us anything we've put down), being talked down to, disrespected, and literally demanded I accept terms I was not comfortable with (I have email screenshots to prove it) I can understand fully why many have come to mock the Christian faith and the people who believe in it. I should of known ahead of time after reading the reviews about this man that he'd do this to anyone, not just gay people wanting to get married. If you'd like to know more about my experience, I'd be more than happy to provide the email screenshots or share my full story. This man figured since we only had a few months before our wedding he could hardball us and force us into an agreement even our families had issues with. I wouldn't recommend this venue to my worst enemy. Be careful if you do choose them.

My wife and stayed here on our anniversary. A great relaxing stay with great food. Would highly recommend. Enjoy supporting businesses that promote Christian values and [real] marriage, between a man and woman.

This looks like a very nice B&B that is run by very nice people. Don't concern yourself with the anti-God, hateful and vicious comments. Jim and Beth Walder are gracious hosts. Praying for you! God is proud of you!

Very nice place. Didn't go into the Bed and Breakfast, but did see the surrounding area. It is beautiful, and a great place for a wedding or other outdoor events.

My wife and I had a horrible experience at TimberCreek for our wedding. Please contact me with any questions and I will share more details as well as can provide evidence to support some of what I'm about to say.Pros - TimberCreek's employee, Connie, is wonderful. I am astonished that she still works there. The owner legitimately had her crying with how he treated us and her.Cons - I'll mention two...1) When we were having our rehearsal ceremony the night before the wedding, the owner (Jim Walder) decided to mow the lawn right next to us. Then as we were heading to our cars, he decided to mow around our cars. He was driving his lawnmower inches away from us and my nieces/nephews - even with us trying to make him stop. This event occurred after numerous instances where we were harassed and blamed for being the most disrespectful family he's ever had to deal with. He sent some very unprofessional emails to my fiance (the bride) days before the wedding which included personal attacks on our family. This was obviously an act of aggression and there were many eye-witnesses who saw this take place.2) The owner refused to let me check into the rooms (which was paid for in full). We had booked all the rooms. My dad tried to check in, however, the owner kicked him out and locked the doors to the Bed and Breakfast because he apparently didn't like his attitude. I went in to talk with the owner to see if I could smooth things over but he started rudely telling me that I better have a different attitude than my dad's or I was not going to be allowed into the rooms. He was shaking and spoke very inarticulately - clear signs of instability. It turned out he was mad that we had amended the contract many months prior to the wedding. We only wanted to stay there one night instead of two, so we amended the contract and the price and we (including Jim) signed it at the time it was amended. There was no reason for there to be any trouble. I deal with contracts in my professional field all the time and this is a very normal occurrence.I then asked him about his attitude because he was making accusations about my character, as well as my dad's, without me having done anything to show disrespect or unprofessionalism in any way. He was about to not fulfill his contractual obligations due to our apparent "bad attitude" and him being mad we chose not to pay extra in order to stay another night. He proceeded to tell me to leave and locked me out as well. My fiance and the bridesmaids were in there with a clearly unstable man locked inside alone with them. I had no reception so I could not call my fiance to warn her. Luckily, I was eventually able to call 911.Once I hung up, Jim opened the front door and at this point, my groomsmen came to help. I then went up to him and told him he was contractually obligated to let us get in our rooms since we paid for all of it. There were only three hours until the wedding. He told me he'd let me in if he saw an attitude change so I asked him what he meant by that. I was wondering what specific actions he was looking for to show my attitude had "changed". I then asked if the contract mentioned any specific attitudes we needed to have in which he replied, "the attitude is the contract!" Everything I said just seemed to infuriate him.I realized I had two options - (1) pretend to be in the wrong and apologize in hopes it satisfies him or (2) reschedule the wedding and lose the $7,000 we paid. Luckily, my best man smooth-talked our way into the Bed and Breakfast so we could finally shower and get ready for the ceremony. I talked with the cop once he arrived and told him all was well (because the owner was walking right next to me).We had to succumb to the owner's delusions in order for him to fulfill his contractual obligations. Again, this was hours before the ceremony. I've worked with many venues in my professional career and have dealt with some difficult business owners but trust me - this is as bad as it gets.

I agree with Larry Ford. I just read what happened to these people on my CBN phone app. I will pray you folks. Also I am a truck driver getting work done at a dealership in Champaign, IL, I'm not from here just passing through. I just so happen to pull up this news app on my phone and read this story. Not sure if that means anything, but definitely had a Check in my spirit. God bless you folks. 4/4/16 8:09am

I loved everything about this place! The bed was comfortable, the property and lodgings were beautiful. A completely serene retreat.
