Excellent experience with PepBoys after having BOTH driver side tires blown out by a colossal crater on IL-53N thankfully was only a few miles away to have my car brought in for new tires.The folks that helped me were extremely friendly and worked my car in for immediate service upon receipt at a far price I might add!Will definitely return! Thanks gents for turning an awful experience completely around so quickly!

Awful experience getting an alignment here. Scheduled an appointment for the afternoon on a Monday. Brought my car in, was told that they were very busy and might not be able to do it. I argued that's the point of the appointment. They did it but told me they couldn't get it into spec but got it close. On my drive home it was pulling to the right and steering wheel was to the left. I called and complained that this was unacceptable. They admitted they didn't have a good tech available and asked me to come back on a Thursday to have it done again. Took time off work to have their "good tech" give it a shot. Spent two hours there, tech couldn't get it into spec, told me my car must have damage or bent suspension components. I drove home and it was way worse than the previous tech who did it. Pulling hard to the right and steering wheel way off to the left. I called back and demanded a refund, they gave me a run around that it wasn't possible to refund. Also, I inspected their work at home. No one disconnected the zip ties holding the tie rod boots so they were all twisted up. The front passenger tire was so toed out it was visible with the naked eye. I adjusted the toe in my own driveway using a string as a gauge and got it to stop pulling. I then took my truck to a specialist shop that only does alignments and they got it perfect. Do yourself a favor and avoid this pep boys. I wouldn't trust them to do an oil change.

They did the best they could with the situation they were handed they were a little short staffed in the beginning and kind of gave me a heads up on a long wait. I'm not going to hold someone calling off because of being sick or what not against them. They did however do a great job of under promising and over delivering. That is not a knock on their service. They led me to believe the wait would be several hours because of how short staff they were. However a few people stepped up when the business needed it and showed up. Reducing my expected wait time to maybe an hour overall. Great overall experience.

Pep boys palatine is Amazing and really helped me out Value wise! My dealership was trying to charge me almost 62 percent more than what I paid for tires! My three kids and I Thank you sooooooo much..LOL!

Eric was great when I arrived at the location. He greeted me and ask me if he can help me. I arrived little late and he was still able to reschedule me for my car alignment. Vehicle was ready at the time he promised. Thanks for your service. Always like the service of pep boys!

Excellent service! I was really impressed by the way the mechanic with the long hair and tattoos fixed my car. Very knowledgeable and professional. Will definitely be coming back here again

Erick is great. Took care of a shotty alignment my Dad had done at Midas in Palatine a week before. My Dad said Erick was extremely attentive and fixed the issue. My Dad has worked on cars for years. He took his Toyota Camry there as he does not have equipment to do alignments at home. He said, yea that kid knew what he was doin , I was watching him. Erick- you are great and it takes a lot to win over someone like my Dad. Good job on your service and communication skills. Hope you get a raise. You deserve it.

I came in for a free tire rotation. The tech claimed I did not need one, but that is irrelevant. After driving 10,000 miles on the current tire configuration, I wanted a rotation. They wouldn't give me one.

The team at Pep Boys Palatine, went out of their way to make sure that it was not my starter that had caused my car to have a hard start. For the cost of simple test I was saved the large sum a starter replacement can occur.Thanks

The tech and check in were great. The only, and this is just picky, complaint was the waiting area was tired and shabby and not really clean. I'm guessing the techs also have to clean that space and they were so busy they probably just do not have the time. I love the ability to have weekend appointments.

Awful, I don't know what happened here, used to be a good place. I schedule a simple oil change appointment. I arrive there only to be told that there is a 3 hour wait despite having an appointment. What was the point of setting the appointment up? Why couldn't they just call and tell me instead of having me drive out there?

It was easy to make an appointment and was contacted in advance to tell me they might not have staff available to address my problem with my tires. I was offered a general check of my tires at the appointed time. The service was prompt and thorough. Luckily I only needed air which of course was free but received great advice about next steps! This is why I trust Pep Boys and will continue to use their services.

Pep Boys at 315 W Northwest Hwy in palatine has the best customer service with Tyler, who went above and beyond for me. He has made me a satisfied, come back Customer. I was extremely pleased. He gave me directions, and took care of my needs. Their prices are better. I would definitely recommend.

Every. Single. Time. I have made an appointment online at this location, they have been OVER BOOKED. Either they call to cancel LAST MINUTE or they let you show up and tell you it s going to be 2-3 hours. Ridiculous. I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT to work around my schedule. As a single mom of 3 kids, waiting 2-3 hours for simple maintenance that I booked for a specific time, is just unacceptable. I work for a company that provides service so I understand being busy. BUT EVERY TIME??? we are talking now 6-7 separate times in the past year. I will save my time and book else where first, since I always have to do that anyways AFTER attempting to go here.Sad, because when I actually have been able to get my car serviced here (a little over a year ago), they ve done AMAZING work. But defs not worth the hassle.

Highly recommend. We had a "rush" situation. We drove into wet cement that wasn't blocked off. This had to be taken care of due to the hardening of the cement. Pep Boys fit us in the schedule the next day. The price was very reasonable too. Already added Pep Boys to my phone contacts for future needs.PS Ty and the front desk was awesome too. Very patient and knowledgeable!

I've been a loyal customer for over 4 years, even when I felt they overcharged me. NO MORE!! Every time I come in, I ask about the alignment. I paid for a lifetime alignment. Now, my tires are worn out because of the alignment. Tires that I bought here and paid for the lifetime tire service!! Obviously buying that was a waste of money and they're going to make me pay more no matter what. Ialso asked for a quote on some other maintenance and they told me 3x what another shop will do it for. They take my loyalty for granted giving them license to charge me a lot more.

I took my Jeep Patriot in to have my license plate bulbs replaced as Firestone during my safety check while performing an oil changed diagnosed that my license plate lights weren't lightning.I called pep boys and they were absolutely amazing from start to finish they replaced my license plate bulbs quickly and efficiently!! The store Mgr on duty was absolutely fantastic !!I couldn't ask for better service any where else and they just earned an extremely frequent loyal customer for any further repairs to my jeep !!

So far every visit has been a good one. Bought tires a little over a year ago. And just went back to have rotation and had theme check the brakes. They could have lied and told me I needed them but they said I have some life left on them.

The new management is a huge improvement. Ty and Omar are professional and friendly. I made an appt online in advance and they made an effort to get me taken care of quickly. I appreciate very much that they don t try to pitch additional services. They tell you what s needed and let you decide with no additional sales talk.

Great new manager. Good communication, fast, easy appointment. Tire rotation and balancing done at Pep Boys after Costco said they couldn't take off one of the wheels. Problem solved.

We live in a world where there is no humanity left. People just don't want to help anyone at all. I came from Indianapolis to Palatine for a funeral service and as soon as we left the service I got a low tire pressure sign so I thought I should get that checked out before getting stuck in the middle. I stopped at this location around 10 till 6pm (technically they weren't closed), there's this caucasian young guy with a long hair. I told him what's going on and he seems to be very irritated. I even apologize for coming in at the last minute, he wasn't willing to help me. So the least I asked him to show me how to put an air in the tire and again he gave me an attitude. I was very shocked to see the way he turned me. People has zero work ethics these days and it made me very sad because I am not one of this kind of person. Luckily I made home safe after putting some air from the gas station but he should've helped me at the first place or anyone in the future to prevent something major happen.

I had nothing but the best experience at Pep Boys in Palatine. The guys are young but very knowledgeable, hardworking and professional! George and Pablo went beyond my expectation of quality work! There was one more guy that did work on my car, but I don't recall his name... I recommend this place to all my friends now!!! Do not hesitate to get tire work done there!

I scheduled an appointment with Pep Boys for a tire patch and I was worried about buying new tires because the tires that I have are no longer available in stores. Scott took care of it and he was very honest with me which I truly appreciated it. It was a quick and an easy fix!My dad and I have been coming to Pep Boys for years and we never had any issues with them. I would definitely come back to Pep Boys! Thank you!

Great experience at this location. Ordered 4 new tires and made an appointment online, dropped off my car Saturday night and it was done by 12:30pm Sunday. George called with updates and was helpful and knowledgeable. Appreciate the service!

The online appointment schedule needs work. Work was scheduled before the tire were shipped. To fix the issue, the manager made sure the tires were expedited, in the shop and I was a priority. He even came in on his day off to make sure everything was corrected.Great Customer service and recovery.
