Great experience! They were knowledgeable, honest, and the pricing was very fair. They performed the repairs quickly, alerted me as soon as complete, and even drove it to the emissions testing facility to ensure it passed inspection for me. I will be taking my car here from now on!

These folks are great! We took a car in that I brought to 3 separate places without success. Chris and his team took apart the engine and actually spent time diagnosing the problem. He found it, fixed it and we couldn't be happier! A+++

Proffessional and quality service. They scheduled me out a few days at the next available time. I dropped of my car and they promptly worked on it, diagnosed the issues, addressed other critical issues they observed, got it emission tested and had it ready the same afternoon. Even the lady who collected payment was nice enough to ask if I had any questions for the serviced technician before she collected payment. Great first experience! I will definitely continue taking my car for service there.

Ernie's was amazing. They gave me a great price for a difficult job (axle replacement). Everyone who worked there was very calm and made me feel taken care of. Honest work done well at a great price. Not to mention they took in my car and got it passed for emissions testing without me needing to ask (they knew that the vehicle was getting repaired because it failed the test). Overall excellent service and would recommend to anyone for anything. 101/100Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Very polite and very good prices for the work done. The work done on my car was pretty quick and the brakes were installed perfectly. Definitely coming back for my repair needs highly recommend this shop.

I had been having trouble with my rear exterior lights on my 2013 Hyundai Sonata. The internet is full of customers with similar problems yet Hyundai has refused to issue a recall on Sonatas from 2011-2017 thus far. Make a long story short, the Hyundai dealership wanted $170 just to do an electrical "diagnosis". Chris and his crew of great people instead allowed me to drop the car off on the spot, called me in a couple hours and said to "come on in and that the car is ready, no charge". Without providing all the details, they found the simple problem and fixed it. I will be back ALWAYS from this moment on. THANK YOU CHRIS AND EVERYBODY ELSE AT ERNIE'S AUTO SERVICE IN PALATINE! Have quite a bit of work done to my car, I used to always call auto shops to get prices before Ernies. Now they are my go to location for anything I need done, Chris is very honest, the prices are great cannot be beat anywhere and the work is always done proper and never half assed. Highly recommend

Had an oil leak on my Tahoe. Brought it to several other mechanics in the area and was told anywhere from $1000 to $1600 for a rear main seal and maybe more needing replacing. Brought it to Ernie's and within 5 hours they found the leak in another spot, repaired the leaking component, and charged me $125. Good honest mechanic, will be taking my truck here again.

Owner Mechanic (Chris) is very honest and his prices are very reasonable. Most other repair shops will try to rip you off and repair items on your car that are not needed.Thanks for your honest repair service !

Worked at Ernie's Auto for my first job in high school. They had two mechanics at the time and had friendly and fast service. I believe this has been sold since then but the name has not changed. Have not had my car there.

Chris and his staff are HONEST GUYS and Girl(his wife)WHO WONT LIE ABOUT PRICING OR WHAT SERVICE YOU NEED DONE SOONER THAN OTHER SERVICES, He is a great guy and is always willing to work with you and explain what you need done right away and what you can wait on getting replaced or fixed

Don t call Ernie s for a tow if any other options are available. Their night manager damaged the front end of a car during a tow and the woman supervisor who works weekends was incredibly rude, unhelpful and wouldn t hear us out even though we had photo proof of the damage. Wouldn t recommend this place to an enemy.
