For some reason Walmarts in the Illinois area will not do customer supplied oil and filter changes unless the oil weight 5w20 for example matches the weight stamped on the oil filler cap. My vehicle calls for 5w30 in the owners manual but the cap reads 5w20. My dealer told me to use 5w30 which I carry with me as well as a OEM Motorcraft factory filter. No where else do I have this issue with Walmart. I explained to the ignorant attendant that I am a Ford Motor Company retiree from the service engineering department explaining the history behind the issue and the requirements of the 5.0L coyote engine but I may as well have been speaking a foreign language because he was clueless. I travel the US extensively and no where else do I have this issue. Wake up Walmart, you are thoroughly annoying your well educated and knowledgeable customers. Disgusting.

Got the pit crew last time I went for a change and everything was fine. Go in again and they tell me the oil filter was not a core filter and it would be 8$ more. Which I didn't have so I received no oil change. And they apparently don't know how to use gloves because there was oil on my door and steering wheel.

Well if you want your oil change to take an hour and be late for work this is the place for you! Lady at the desk wasn t only rude to other customers and avoiding people, but the lack of urgency is very well known amongst all the other employees too, I asked what was taking so long on my oil change and all I got was they re working on itService: Oil change

For tires there good ,oil change they fuged up the cap on my sana Fa which leaked on the starter blew it n caused a small fire now I'm completely screwed

Really great and friendly employees! Also very educated in auto related issues etc. Very speedy service as well! I had a flat tire that I brought in to get looked at. Instead of telling me immediately that j needed new tires they found the source of the leak and fixed it saving a lot of money on my end!

I have had my oil change done and they do a good job for a good price as well. They have a pretty decent selection for your car needs. Some of the items were out of stock but they can order them for you. All in I will continue to shop there. Their prices are much more affordable than the auto stores prices around the area

Got a flat tire while visiting family in Ottawa and the people here were wonderful to work with. They patched my tire, switched out the spare, and put everything away for me so we could continue our trip in a timely fashion. They were professional and kind, and the bill was extremely reasonable! I went into this Walmart auto center yesterday, 7/27, to replace my battery. Their policy is free battery change with the purchase of a new one from their store. They replaced the battery but came back and told me the battery wasn't the issue and I might need a new starter and to take it somewhere else as they do not provide this service there. I took my car to another shop and surprise....it was just the battery. Apparently the tech couldn't install a battery properly and it cost me losing a day of work and an extra $100 due to labor. I can't believe their mechanic couldn't install a battery correctly and I should have just done it myself. Car is starting and running great now. Just a little ridiculous and embarrassing for their service department.Service: Battery

I had an appointment at 2pm today for 4 new tires and the guys were awesome. Got my car right in and we only had to wait an hour for everything to be completed. Very friendly guys and very fun to chat with.

Took a long time but that was only because how many customers were there. They got it done as quickly as possible and did a great job. Good communication with being able to scan the barcode in the app.

The price is right and you can get your grocery shopping done while you wait, but I asked them to call me when the oil change was done. They did not, resulting in needlessly walking up and down the aisles with my child for who knows how long.When asked, the associate said she paged me. Well, she did verify my phone number during drop-off so I replied, "I'm not an employee. I don't listen to the pages."

If you absolutely need something done I'd then say go here. My personal experience has not been too good. Several times I've gone, its longer than said wait times and dealt with a staff that did not seem to have any sense of urgency. Once the employee stripped the bolt on my oil reservoir and tried to claim he did not. Now I'm not a mechanic but I know if I had looked at it the day before and it was fine and the next day it's all messed up that doesnt happen out of nowhere. Seems mismanaged, understaffed or overworked. Most likely all three.

Scheduled and drove 50 miles to this store to be told at 11am regular buisness hours that tech gets off in an hour and that his impact gun wont work on a dodge dually with no attempt made . Called walmart customer complaint with no reply and scheduled with another walmart 30 miles away horrible customer service in my opinion.

Was told about an hour when I came in today. I waited around the store with my children, no big deal. Went back after an hour and that's when they decided to ask about the locking lug nut key. I said it was in the glove box, apparently they didnt check, nor did they try to contact me when they could not find it. So now I have been waiting for over an hour at the service center with my kids. Still waiting over 2 hours now. Very much a waste of my time today.

Walmart's Auto Dept. Ottawa location. Needs much improvement. I needed a tire plug. I got a nail. They told me half a hour wait. I had one lady in front of me. About 3 people came in after me. They were ALL done before me. 2 hours later I was finally done. Ugh!!!

This place would be much better with a friendlier face to attend you.Seems like the employees are always fighting, complaining about each other or just having a bad day that right away reflects when they attend you.Some even look like they hate their job, like i dont blame you I work with people too and I get irritated but always there is a point where you have to be professional and if you cant maybe that isnt the job for you.

Got me in to replace 2 tires 45 minutes before closing. Good selection of tires at great prices. They even hung my spare tire back under the car for me.

Employees are engaged and knowledgeable. Check in was difficult because of problems with the wireless signal at the desk. Management kindly take notice!

I was on hold for 20 mins, after that I got hung up on tried again just kept ringing. Finally got a answer and put on hold again. I understand being busy but that s crazy.

I went here two days ago to get my oil changed I should have listened to everybody and spent a little more money and went to another place I spent a total of $59 out of wipers and an oil change so two days later my light is on saying I need my oil change soon so I go to check it and they are three notches below where my oil level should have been and no I do not have an oil leak in my car go somewhere else spend the extra cash
