11/3/22: Broke the bank today and got a complete brake system overhaul. Calipers, rotors, and pads and 100K mile tuneup as recommended. Rides like new and found and eliminated an annoying thumping noise. Good for at least another 100K miles.Had thoughts of replacing this vehicle but it looks and rides better than when new.The Tim crew did an amazing job. We upgraded all the parts to remove any worry of parts failure. It was totally worth it. The spouse was happy. That s what s most important.Original PostI haven t had any work done here yet but I m planning to in the near future. I really appreciate a clean workshop. Tim is kind enough to make time to offer suggestions on repairs and maintenance. I m confident it will be a good experience.

We are customers for life! Tim and his crew are upstanding and honest. I brought my car in for brakes, and they let me know that my brakes still had a lot of life left in them (even showed me the measurements). Many places would have just changed the brakes and took the money. Thank you to everyone at MotorTechs for your honest and amazing service. I took my VW Passat here and I got my vehicle back WORSE than when I dropped it off! I needed a parking brake light off and now it is trying to engage, my breaks are grinding and I smell exhaust when I turn the defrost on which NEVER happened before.I brought it back the next day telling him that something wasn t right and my gas mileage was terrible he told me he doesn t have time and doesn t have to do jobs like my vehicle I want to cry after paying $300 to reset a code and now I smell exhaust and have to take it in to get the brakes redone. Terribly rude owner.

Absolutely horrible send the wife and her father into have a light looked at. In the end her father was charged for them to reset a code and engage a caliper on a Passat that ultimately ruined a brand new set of brakes and rotors we put on. If you don't know what you're doing they will take full advantage of you and I highly recommend you go elsewhere !

I have been looking for a great mechanic to work on my high value collector car for a while now. Tim ended up being someone I could trust who was willing to take on the work. He was honest and appreciated my need for high quality work. He could have turned me away to focus on higher profit and quicker turn around jobs and he didn t. I bought a Used car in 2019, that's when I started having Tim work on my car. He always finishes the work before the time he says it will take. Tim is Dependable, trustworthy, honest. The best auto repair shop I ever dealt with, the owner Tim is very professional and extremely knowledgeable, excellent service and very fairly priced., I will Always give him my business, and I recommend his shop to anyone who wants the best service and quality of work, very reliable, thanks a million, my car blew an engine, he replaced it with a brand new engine and turbo as well, best warranty as well ..

If you don t have a car guy , Tim is your guy! I ve never felt more comfortable having someone work on my car than I do here. Tim not only diagnoses the problem but he shows you why it happened. He works to make sure you re comfortable knowing your car is safe with him. Thanks Tim for always making time to get our cars in and giving fair prices. I have been going to Tim for over 20 years. He is an owner who thinks of the customer first! My college daughter knocked off her side mirror. I said Take it to Tim You will need to replace it...$$...So Tim works on it, spent time on it, and applies a special screws & glue, and waits 24 hours for drying and rechecking.... When she asked to pay the bill, Tim merely replied, "Go finish college & get good grades!" (And the mirror looked brand new again). This is who Tim is! Tim knows foreign cars and can repair them easily for less than any dealership can. If you need car advice....Tim is always there to lay it on the line. I did not buy my new car without his advice! I can go on and on.....Motor Techs is the best value, with a good team, and Tim will always remain hands on with every car that comes in that door! Thank you Tim! Tim and his crew were professional, helpful, and honest. I did both sets of brakes for my BMW at his shop. I was a first time customer, now I will definitely be a lifetime customer. Tim at MotorTechs did an AMAZING job recently diagnosing a recent TIPM module failure on my 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. This electrical issue prevented the minivan from starting and within 2 days Tim and crew figured out the problem, came up with a solution, and worked to get the new part overnighted.MotorTechs in Orland Park provides excellent customer service and I will highly recommend this business to other people in need to auto repairs.Service: Electrical repair

I had grown weary of all of my mechanic visits. I had been trying to tackle a persistent leak after I replaced an oil pan gasket, and no one could pinpoint the source of the leak nor could they tell me why, after a $2,000 oil pan gasket replacement, it was still leaking at all. I, at one point, was told that I needed to replace my front differential unit, which is sealed. With parts and labor it would have costed me well over $2500! I decided to take a chance on Tim and the guys at Motor Techs after reading the reviews online. To say they lived up to those reviews would be an understatement. First and foremost, Tim and John, the mechanic I worked with, thoroughly and meticulously cleaned the area around my oil pan and differential and told me to monitor it for the weekend that followed the Friday I got my car back. When I saw that there was wetness in the same area, the guys were quick to determine that it wasn't the differential at all. It was a bolt that just needed sealer. For two visits, they only charged me for one hour of labor a far cry from the $2500-$3000 I had been worried about having to spend. Thank you so much to Tim and everyone at Motor Techs for your diligence, honesty, and unrivaled competence. I am so glad to have walked into the shop as a prospect and walk out as a customer for life!Service: General repairs & maintenance

The estimate was $400. It wasn't as bad once they had a look. Final bill was around $250. That speaks volumes towards thier integrity. It was also a pleasant and easy interaction. I've found my repair shop.

I called up Tim of Motor Techs following a visit to the dealership who wanted $2500 to fix the air conditioning on my 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. Tim told me what day to bring the car in and he gave me an idea of how much it would cost that same day. Within 2 days of that time he fixed the problem and he saved me over a thousand dollars! Tim spent the time to show me that part that had broken and all the steps he took to fix the problem. Very trustworthy and down to earth business owner and mechanic. I would recommend his service to anyone.

Tim and his team made sure I understood what what wrong with my car and what caused the problem. He provided every option available to fix the car and even broke down the parts needed and prices. Excellent service and very reasonable. I love the time he took to make sure I was pleased. Replaced my engine and my 2014 runs like new!!

Awesome place! Was recommended to go here and so I brought in my car earlier this week - Tim is really cool and was helpful with explaining what was wrong with my car, and he and his team fixed it up in less than 2 days. My car had been repaired by a previous shop, and they didn't fix it well, so Tim fixed their work and overall the bill was way more affordable than I was expecting. One thing I like about this garage is they didn't treat me like a female who doesn't know anything about cars (have experienced that before) - they showed me the mechanisms under the car and explained what they were doing, letting me touch different gears and treating me just like everyone else. Really great. Definitely coming back.

Motor Techs did a great job on my 9yr-old-Volvo. Tim diagnosed the problem within 60 seconds. I made the appointment, it was done within the day, and the problem was fixed for literally half of what the dealer would have charged me. AND Tim used genuine parts, no cheap knock-off parts. Very happy with the service and price. Motor Tech is my auto mechanic from this day forward.Service: Engine repair

My car was having trouble with it's cooling system. He replaced my water pump and installed a knock -off pump and a hose that led to my radiator, which was injured by the radiator fan (not the correct hose for my car). Charged me $998.00 for a $750.00 job. Not reputable.

The owner's attention to detail is exceptional. The repair work completed on the replacing of brake pads and rotors included sandblasting and painting the support brackets. This is something my husband and I have never seen done before. The honesty and upfront straight forwardness is greatly appreciated with each encounter.Service: BrakesService: Brakes

The manager Tim has been extremely helpful, polite and knowledgeable when I asked him for an estimate on a rebuilt engine for my car that I am leaving for my son; providing me with the information I asked. I highly recommend motortechs to anyone who need there car repaired. I've had 7 different cars while I live in Orland Park, and The guys at Motor Techs are really great to work with...They don't replace the parts you need with junk parts(Autozone, etc..) And because of this, the repair stay repaired! I just wish I had followed more of his advise when if came time replace my Engine...These guys really care about you and your car

Steve was awesome. I came in on a busy morning and they were short staffed. He still managed to get my car diagnosed and fixed by the next day. A family member picked up my car for me and Steve insisted that I was shown the defective part so he gave it to them to bring back. Pricing was fair, service was fast and friendly. This is a diamond in the rough auto shop! Recommended!

I dropped off my car to have the brakes fixed and the radio checked out. Tim called me back and said that he had taken a look at the brakes and test drove it and decided that the brakes didnt really need to be changed right now, the prior brakes I had done (at another shop) just used some low quality parts that didnt have a great feel but still had about half their life left. He recommended I NOT get new brakes yet as it would be a waste of money. He then looked at the radio and determined it might be more expensive to fix than I had anticipated so he called me to advise of this and ask if I wanted him to continue working on it. I actually didnt given the value of the car so I truly appreciated the call. Both exchanges reflect fair and honest dealings (clearly he could have just told me I needed new brakes and I would have paid him for them). I will definitely be taking my cars back here in the future.

I have had multiple cars here for various reasons over the past 2 years. Whether is was my blown transmission, broken AC, or engine light causing me to fail an emissions test, they have always done an excellent job making the repairs. MotorTechs will continue to be my go to place!
