Russo is the ultimate professional. Very fair pricing, timely with schedule. Russo is like a throwback to the olden days when service at the highest level meant something. When someone gave you their word, it actually meant a lot to themselves and the consumer. I've been using him for years, and I have nothing slightly negative to commit regarding his service. Totally trustworthy.

I've lived in Oak Park 4 years now, and have taken my vehicles to Russo's Auto for both routine maintenance and acute repairs. I have had nothing but positive experiences with Russo's, I won't be taking my vehicles anywhere else, couldn't recommend them any more highly.Earlier this week I dropped my car off unannounced due to an acute issue with my driver side rear tire. They were able to fix the problem quicker than I would have ever imagined, given how busy they are, and for an extremely reasonable price. They even professionally repaired a tail pipe issue I had jerry rigged on my own, all without telling me nor charging me for the additional repair. Wonderful experience, can't thank them enough.Services: Exhaust, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Air conditioning, Oil change

I showed up yesterday impromptu with my my front bike wheel flat, I had asked Russo how much it would cost for me to fill up my front tire he told me to wait 5 minutes. After 5 passed he filled my wheel and let me on my way with a smile. What a swell guy.Service: TiresService: Tires

Very honest and fair. I am trying to keep my 1997 Honda Civic around for a few more years. Passenger side window wouldn't roll down. Brought it to Russo's Fall of 2021 and it was fixed - which was my first time at Russo's. Had problems with it again in the spring and brought it back. The part they replaced in the fall was still under warranty. While they worked on it, they realized it was a different part that was a little expensive considering it an old car (approx. $450 for part alone). I asked Joe to see about fixing the A/C instead, which hadn't worked for 2 years. I can't have no windows down and no A/C. Joe recharged the A/C instead of continuing to fix the window, which was absolutely fine with me. I went to pickup the car and he only charged me for the A/C recharge. I was expecting to pay for labor to attempt to fix the window. I like this place a lot and plan on continuing to use Russo's.Services: Air conditioning, Oil change

Russo's is fantastic. Great customer service - Joe and his team are patient, friendly and they take the time to explain the ins and outs of the repair they propose. I find their prices to be completely in line with other places and you get personal attention, friendly service and thoroughness as well. We have been taking our cars there for 9 years and wouldn't go anywhere else.

They did an awesome job taking care of my Jeep when the battery died inside the infamous Oak Park parking garage. Went above and beyond by getting it to their shop without a low-profile tow and had the battery swapped out in no time. Extremely helpful, polite and professional.Service: BatteryService: Battery

They seem to be straight shooters. They seem like they're more interested in getting things fixed than making money. But you gotta make money to stay open. I feel like every service I've had done there is reasonably priced since my old place closed.I strongly implore anyone interested to call ahead for a (loose) appointment to make sure your needs are met the same day.

Just took my Prius here for a brake inspection after taking it to a dealership in the suburbs the week before that didn't solve the issue. The high ratings of this place are true! The guys here were so friendly from the start and listened to all of my concerns (i.e. didn't rush me or talk over me). When they called me to pick up my car, they explained everything they did/looked at and answered all my questions. They ensured the vehicle was safe and fully inspected which gave me peace of mind. I think their rate is $100/hr for labor which is about average but the vehicle service and customer service are excellent. So glad to have found a local mechanic I trust.

Personable and excellent service. Brought my car here and lucked out having an AC problem they've dealt with before that's common with my make and model. They had the part needed in stock and I was back behind the wheel in just a couple hours. Affordable and local. Always support local businesses. Thanks Russo's!

Our Prius was making a noise and we feared a bearing was going out. We only have one car, so were concerned to get it checked right away. They were able to get us in immediately to try and ID the problem. It was an exhaust clamp that had been ripped off the bottom of the car due to the snow and ice in our alley. (We are probably not the only Prius owners that will have this issue!). They were able to fix it right there and it wasn't expensive at all. Thank you Russo's!! Excellent service.

Low pressure tire alert came on. Every time this has happened in Chicago- there's been a nail in the tire. Took it here and found out it was just a temp drop and needed some more air. Got me in quick and was super nice. Didn't even charge me. Great place.

**DON'T trust the 5 star reviews** And take your car here at your own risk!I took my car to Russo's for some maintenance, as I did several times before. They accidentally broke a part in the interior of my car but I didn't mind, because they admitted their fault and replaced it for free. But in the process of fixing that, they damaged (as in cracked, dented, and scratched) the plastic around it, which was in 100% new condition before, despite the age of my car.Again, this was fine with me IF they would have admitted that it was their fault. Instead, I had to hear from Russo that it was "my word vs his employee's", and that there's no proof of what that part looked like before I brought it in. I think I would know, though... it's MY car! I should have seen this coming, though, because even when the first part broke, an employee on the phone tried to deny responsibility for it.He then tried to make up for it by looking for a used part in better condition, to replace the damaged one. (After refusing to pay for a new one, since apparently my car is too old and is now not worth treating the same as a new car, despite the fact that it looks and runs much better than cars that have been driven for half as long.)The issue is not whether they are willing to replace it, but the way I was spoken to and how I was basically accused of blaming them for breaking something that was already like that from before (which it was ~not~). He said it must have been "normal wear and tear" from before, rather than admitting that it may have accidentally/unintentionally been done by an employee. I would have even been willing to pay to have it fixed there, if they just said that accidental damage during repairs was not covered under their policy- instead of trying to talk their way out of taking the blame.Don't go here unless you're willing to risk your car being damaged by the workers AND being told that it was not their fault (therefore implying that it was your fault).I am going back to having my car dealership maintained (and the dealer, by the way, is selling me the new part for $80 less than the price quoted to me at Russo's for the same thing). At least I know that I'll be treated with respect there, and that they don't take their customers for granted.UPDATE: The day after getting my car back from Russo's, I tried to use my A/C button. I didn't need it the day before because of the cold weather. My button is broken now. It was working before I left it there, for sure. So now I have to pay hundreds of dollars to get my entire A/C unit fixed, which was working fine before. And Russo was insisting that his employee didn't even "touch" that whole area of my car...

It's the second time bringing our vehicle to Joe's shop. Water pump, pulley, belt, and some other odds and ends, and I will say that as not fun as it is to part with that money, Joe, Dan, and anyone else who works there have been nothing but kind, understanding, and professional. There was no pressure, and it was thoroughly and plainly explained to me. I'm not happy paying money for something that isn't fun. I am happy to pay money for peace of mind though. Russo's has now provided that two times. If I have a problem again, I know where I'm going to continue to go.

This sounds silly - but the best car repair and service place I have ever been to. Honest, thorough, went above and beyond to help, and had my car back to us on the same day. Would recommend to anyone.

Love Russo's. They do what's needed to my old car and nothing unnecessary. Joey Russo can baby my 2002 Civic for as long as I own it. Very honest repair guys.

Honesty,Integrity, and Professional Service...Any car problems...big or small...take your car to Joe, you'll never take your car back to the expensive car dealership again!! I can vouch for that...I've been overpaying for years but not anymore thanks to Joe...I am so happy that i can send my wife there and we can get an HONEST estimate for car service..I'll say no more...R.Z.
