The auto service I received was truly excellent. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Wally and staff are knowledgeable and professional, making me feel confident that my vehicle was in good hands. The service was efficient and thorough, exceeding my expectations. Overal, I had a fantastic experience with this auto service. I highly recommend them.

My initial experience with Wally was dropping my 80 year old father off when he needed repairs done on his Town Car. He was always fair and fair is all I expect from a mechanic. I began using him as a backup mechanic, and then as a second opinion. Then I started referring him as people reach out to me often for advice. Now he is my goto person for repairs. He is honest and fair, and has always completed the task at hand.

Wally is one of the most fair upfront honest mechanic in the area you will ever find. I take my whole family cars to Wally for all my auto needs. He never does any work with out your approval. An he stay in touch with you an explain everything. If your car needs fixed Wally is your man!!

Bad experience at the mechanics in Oaklawn. To be brief, they changed the oil on my car and subsequently I noticed the car was leaking oil. I took the car back to the mechanics (Wally) and he said the oil plug needed to be tightened. Wally stated he didn't need to add oil because the dipstick showed full. However, once I arrived home from there I checked the oil level and it showed a quart low. I don't feel Wally was honest with me. Therefore, I will never seek his services again as I don't trust him.

Wally is the most fair mechanic there is in this entire area!! Always straight up and great prices!! Wouldn't even THINK about going ANYWHERE else!!

If you want an honest mechanic who will not over charge you or make you pay out of pocket for things that have nothing to do with the issue you are repairing your car, this is the place THEY ONLY REPAIR WHAT IS Necessary! Worst mechanic I ever met. I went to walleye because my car was over heating. He changed a few pipes and houses along with a water pump. He charged me $700 of labor along with $300 of parts. When I came to pick up my car I was not even able to pull out of the parking lot. My gear shifter would not go in to reverse or drive. When I told him what was happening he told he had nothing to do with it. I never had that problem before he worked on my vehicle. But whatever, he looked at it and explained I needed a new gear shifter and that it just so happen to be a coincidence that it broke when I brought it to him. I paid another $160 for repair. I left the shop and a day later my car was over heating again. I brought it back and he told me my fan was not working. He told me it would be less than $400 to fix. He called me later in the day and said my car was ready for pick up and that it was going to cost $450. After I paid him and left I notice my car was making a weird muffling sound under 2 RPMs and when I turned my AC on something under the hood would start to wine very loud. Again I brought it back to him and explained what was going on and he began to act clueless and that he doesn t know what it could be. He told me if I want the noises to stop he could start replacing parts to find the problem but it s going to come out of my pocket i left very angry and felt as though I was being lied to and got played. 2 days later my car started to make a very loud rattling noise. I went to another mechanic to check the issue because I did not trust walleyes dishonesty and lousy workmanship. The other mechanic explained to me that walleye installed my water pump incorrectly therefore damaging the water pump bolt holes since they were not fully tightened. Luckily the mechanic was very honest and nice and fixed it for free after hearing about my bad experience at walleyes. Another 2 weeks goes by and my car began overheating again I went to walleye and explained everything that s happened between us and how upset I was about the whole situation and asked if I could at least have half of my money back. Once he heard this he began to have very bad attitude and even raise his voice to me!! Stating he would not give me anything back because he did not do it! But that s not all! After working on my car there was dirt all on the side of my door, underneath my steering wheel, door jam and ever dirt finger stains on my cotton roof of the door, along with my steering wheel being very sticky and slimy I brought my car to walleyes to fix my over heating issues and left with the same problems plus more!! I can t believe it I will never recommend anyone to this horrible dishonest poor workmanship mechanic! In fact, I highly recommend you to stay far away from this guy! If you want a honest good working mechanic who will not lie or mess you car up more go to Steve s auto care on 87th and central.

I have been taking my car to Wally since I was 16 yes old I am 37! I am not taking my car no where else! They do GREAT WORK! They work on foreign cars too.

So the other day after hearing a thumping noise while on the highway I took my Jeep to the mechanics of oak lawn - after sitting for about aTwenty minutes he comes out and tells me it s my driveshaft rear u joint that needed to be replaced but that for my car they don t make just a rear u joint and I d have to buy a whole new driveshaft which would cost about $600 because it s not sold aftermarket plus labor. I called my mechanic(who is pretty far from where I was) and asked what he thought and right away told me that was not right. So I ended up taking my car to him just to find out it was my brakes and rotors falling apart! Nothing close to my driveshaft and nowhere near that expensive. I think they were just trying to make a quick couple hundred and trying to take advantage of someone who didn t know much. I would not ever take my car back or recommend going unless you want to be ripped of and charged for something that s not even wrong with your car.

Been dealing with The Mechanics for around 15 years or so till I got rid of my van and purchased a newer vehicle and didn t have to use them for a while , but when that vehicle needed repairs went back to them and they re still the same as they were professional They always figured out what was wrong with the vehicles and didn t charge me up the Ying yang or try to sell me repairs or something I didn t need, Wally and his son Clint are a father and son team you can have faith in, they do a fantastic job i ll keep bringing my vehicles back to The Mechanics,No hesitations!Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, A/C installation & repair

Unless you bring him the parts yourself, expect a 80% mark up of parts cost. I never knew "1" $140 ball joint existed?! Or "1" $60 sway link. I didnt know they made gold plated parts. - I could only imagine what he would have charged me for a control arm (that I gave him already), probably wouldve charged me 1k for it. What a Joke! Scam Artist. Lost a valuable customer. Save yourself some money folks, buy your own parts & dont support Shady mechanics.
