Every time I bring my car to Spitfire I am greeted warmly and I feel confident that my car will be diagnosed and repaired correctly.I've been coming here for years and also referring Spitfire to both family and friends. Their honesty in letting you know what the issues are with your car and cost to repair stands out the most. Also, I had the pleasure to meet the owner, Rich, without knowing he was the owner today when I came in for service and the shop was open before 7am. To make a long story short, he was very gracious, extremely pleasant and humorous! In closing, I thank GOD for leading me to Spitfire and so appreciate and commend ALL the Spitfire team.May GOD continue to bless you and your business as you continue to perform great service with a spirit of excellence and honesty.S. This place is great. It's an old school, no-BS repair place that takes care of business! I've brought both of my vehicles here for plenty of oddball repairs and have never left disappointed. Prices are generally quite reasonable, and I never get the sense that I'm being sold something I don't need. I can tell these guys take pride in their repairs! Great shop Service: General repairs & maintenance

Al the service manager is a very nice guy I brought my Chevy S10 2001 in because it wouldn't pass admissions he said it would cost about $380 for the two tests and then whatever to fix it take a couple days well my truck ended up being a real pain in the butt for him and they work down it for 4 days but they got it passed for me very happy the price was right and I would reuse them again

They may be a tad more expensive than some other shops, but the service makes it worth it. I've had some rather extensive work done on two of my Ford Escapes, and Al kept me informed every step of the way. If something was found that would add to the original estimate, I was called before the work was done. The shop is very clean (much cleaner than my garage), and everyone there seemed friendly and eager to help.

This shop is one of the best in the area for car repairs. Highly recommend them! Honesty and integrity are very important to me and Spitfire has- both! The management team is very professional, courteous and friendly and the mechanics are top notch! I have never been disappointed with the quality and skill applied to the repairs. They are far cheaper then dealer service for almost everything. Some discount places may sell tires or batteries cheaper then Spitfire but unless it is a must repair under dealer warranty I bring our vehicles here for service. It s also the cleanest shop I have ever seen! I would not be surprised to see white linen tablecloths on the car hoists!

They did great work on my SUV. The labor cost was pretty minimal since it ended up being a quick job but they diagnosed the broken high pressure sensor and replaced it in under 2hrs. They got me in right away without an appointment, explained exactly what was wrong and didn't go through with anything without my permission. They'll definitely be getting my continued business.

I've been going to Spitfire for about a year now. Al, the manager, is great. He and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. Everyone there is very friendly. It's also the cleanest shop I've been in! This last visit I was pretty sure I needed new brakes so out of curiosity, I priced out 4 other shops and Spitfire. Spitfire was the lowest for brakes! I also got an oil change, air filter, and vehicle check (lights, fluids, tires etc) They diagnosed an exhaust issue but it's something I can wait on for a while. So the bottom line is that you can go to a place like Pep Boys, get overcharged, and have to go back five times to get something fixed. OR you can go to a quality shop like Spitfire where they have the skills to diagnose a problem, explain it to you, and then fix it. And it STAYS fixed! And Al, I passed the emissions test ~ Yay!

Great service! I went to them because it would have cost me over $100 more to get the same services I needed done at a Toyota dealership. I was in and out faster than I thought I would be and the customer service was phenomenal! The ladies that worked in the front were so kind! Definitely will return!

Heard about this place while at the doctor's office. Two patients were talking about getting ripped-off at the Dealership. One of them said they were quoted a price of a $1,000.00 for some work on their car. They heard about Spitfire from a friend & took it there for a second opinion. They were really shocked at their price, that was hundreds under what the dealer quoted for the same problem.I went there for some front end work & was really happy with the work that was done & the price was way better than others that I stopped at. They really take there time checking-out your car & explainingyour options. No pressure. Just good old-fashioned caring about their customers.I'll definitely be coming back to Spitfire for all my future car problems. You can trust them & their work!

I recently moved from the Northside to Oak Lawn and was looking for a good mechanic on this side of the city. I checked out many places on the internet and saw that Spitfire had the best reviews. I called and spoke with Al who told me to come in right away. I needed a wheel alignment. I was in and out in 45 minutes and the price was reasonable and fair. Al and I had a great conversation. This place is top notch and I highly recommend them. Dan Burns

My check engine light was on. An ongoing problem for 2 years now. Kept coding the catalytic converter or something like that. I had it replaced last June. This morning I had my car towed to Spitfire and later in the afternoon, my car was ready for pick up! The service was surprisingly timely! That's a good sign. Let's see how well a job they'll do.....When I picked up my car, I had reservations about them actually addressing the issue with my car. That's based on my past experience with other mechanics. The other place I used to take my car to never seemed to know much about what was going on with it, even after they "fixed" it. The guys at Spitfire were very knowledgeable about what needed to be done and so far so good! My car seems to be on point!I'll write another review in a couple of weeks, good, bad or otherwise (whatever that is)!08/30/2016I'd forgot about following up with this post. So far so good. I continue regular maintenance with Spitfire Automotive and they're on point. Really good guys. Knowledgeable and excellent customer service!I agree with another poster on here; cleanest shop I've seen!

I've been to this location a couple times now and each time I go they surprise me in a positive way. First time I visited to get a wheel alignment and while they did the job right I wasn't sure if the steering wheel was properly centered so I brought it back and they addressed the issue with no additional cost. The second time I asked to have my tow hitch removed, I would have done it myself but the bolt locations looked pretty tough to get to, and even after a little work they did it at no cost. The third time I went to have a check engine light diagnosed and potentially fixed. I, as usual, went to an O'Reilly to get the code and handed it to the mechanic. After a couple hours, they were busy at the time, the mechanic who was assigned to my car sat down with me and explained in great detail what my issue was, how he got it, and what my potential fixes were. Considering I work at an auto parts store I appreciate that they talk to me in lingo that I understood. The work is pricey and they are usually busy but you pay for what you get and they are busy for a reason!

Been dealing with Spitfire for years, and will continue to do so. Their technicians are well trained, and keep up with the latest automotive technology. Recently purchased a "new USED car." It needed work which was covered by warranty. I chose to bring it to Spitfire, rather then the dealer. They honored the warranty, and performed the necessary work. I would trust my car to Spitfire before I would have a dealer work on it.

The staff is have very good interpersonal skills, they care about you the customer. I've never been dissatisfied with any work they've done on my car or my family or company cars. I've been a customer if theirs since 1998.

I took my minivan in to a local dealer and they said I needed a new transmission for $5000. Spitfire diagnosed the problem as something different and fixed it for less than 10% of that estimate. They are very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful.

Mechanic stayed over to fix my car so I could get home.My engine began misfiring after my clinical an hour away from home. I chugged along while trying to find a place that could fix my issue (car is a hybrid so I was particularly worried and it was getting late) and I found this place after the first guys were busy and would be able to get to it for at least 45 min. I walked in and they weren't busy and they were happy to help, despite the shop closing soon. They checked out the issue, found it was a bad fuel injector and said they would do what they can to get it done. Walked over to Culver's and grabbed a bite, finished watching a lecture and they had it up and running and I was able to get home and get some sleep before my 4 am shift the next day. I believe the mechanics name started with an M, maybe Matt or Mike, I'm terrible with names, but thank you. I don't live in the area so hopefully I won't be in the same circumstance where I would have to return, but I would recommend them for their wonderful customer service.

If you want something fixed right the first time, then come here. Very great mechanics and an auto shop that is on par with any dealership. Also a great place to pick up GM parts for serious repair. Not like a an auto zone, no b.s. parts and no display. But if you want something serious they have a great and knowledgeable service desk that will find you what you need (not a place to buy floor mats or fuzzy dice, but if you need an alternator or relay or shocks for a diy mechanic they will set you up with the right OEM parts, especially GM.) AC Delco certified, so you can bring any GM in under warranty instead of having to put up with a dealership.

Brought my car in to get checked out and they tried to rip me off of over 1,000 saying i need a transfer case when i had 3 other places look at it for me and no i didnt need one. Plus this place over charge for each thing. Wheel bearing plus labor around 400.oo and other places in 200s. Thats a big difference too big that they can or anyone else can say its the laber. No it wasnt as i got parts and laber totals for this place and another place. So a warning to anyone who goes to this place they over charge and was wrong about a big part of what keeps vehicle going a transfer case. I dont know about you ladys but as a women im tired being lied to and ripped off so here you go. Just a honest tip.
