This is a great local shop! Manny was around at the original Fred's in Winnetka and continuing the tradition in Northfield now.From small work to anything major it's always worth giving a call to your local mechanic to get an honest quote. We all know what dealership do to you without warranty so look local when possible. Highly recommend!

Hands down best experience with repair i ve ever had. My partner and I are currently road tripping and had an issue with our van. We became pretty much stranded in Illinois so we went down to this shop for Mannie to take a look and diagnose an issue. He figured it out, we got the part overnighted, and the next day he fixed it. Mannie squeezed us into a spot and worked quickly to get us up and running again. He was so nice and the prices were unbeatable. Everyone there is so hardworking and won t stop for anything. HUGE THANKS MANNIE!!!

Their pricing is decent and, most importantly, transparent. This is the most professional auto repair shop I've worked with and I'll keep coming back to them for as long as possible.

This shop is fantastic. Twice now I have gone here to get repairs done. First time, it was to fix my tire that had a hole in it as well as replace the stud. At the time, the tow truck driver requested I go to Firestone to get the stud replaced and the tire patched. They wanted almost $200. I went here and Mani and the team fixed the tire and replaced the stud for $60. The most recent experience was fixing a reflector on my bumper. The team did a great job and it was super affordable. I'm also very impressed how well they treat their customers. Twice, I was given a ride to and from work. Highly recommend this shop. Your wallet will thank you :)

Manny, is the owner and operator of this auto repair shop .The work he does is great. I had ball joints ,upper and lowers installed on my Lexus LS460 at a great. honest price the car rides like new again. He later installed new rotors and pads,he can do it all .This should be your go to shop.Taking my Sons car for service he was going to another shop ,but not now.Do yourself a favor when you need service See Manny at Fred's Northfield Auto Service Shop A+++

ONE OF THE MOST HONEST SHOPS AROUND.I was looking at a car at CarMax and the vehicle I was driving had it's battery light come on. I am from Indiana and was 2 hrs from home. I stopped in at 2pm and was told from Mannie that it would be an hour or two before he could look at it.Once he could look at vehicle it was determined that alternator needed to be replaced.When all was finished it was 6:50 pm and he was supposed to close at 5.I am so grateful to Mannie for staying around to fix my car so I could get home.Great place, wish he was closer to my home. I highly recommend this place!Thanks again Mannie.

I've already been here twice. Once because my brakes were a mess and my car was making a weird noise. They replaced my brakes and right away found what the noise was and replaced the part. They also to me explained what was happening, which I appreciated. During that visit they let me know how my belt was doing and advised me to keep an eye on it. Any other place would've just taken that chance to add that on and force me to pay more than what I was expecting for the visit.The second time I went in for a tuneup, oil change, and to change the belt. They got it done really quickly and had me well-informed during the whole process. They also thoroughly checked my car and ended up finding a screw in a tire and took care of that too. My 10 year old car is now running smoothly. This is the only place I'll trust with my car now!

I had a great experience at Fred's. They did a great job installing some after market turbo piping on my truck, and the staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and courteous. I will definitely be going back for future work, and I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an honest, friendly auto-mechanic.

I needed help and Mannie took me right in, fixed my tire and got me out in less than an hour. Friendly, very knowledgable, and hard working- he did a great job. We are switching all our business to him!

They had my car ready to go the next day. Staff was very friendly and very patient with me. Went over my car issue in detail and in a manner that allowed me to understand the component, the issue, and the solution. Also, because of the situation I found myself in, I was even provided a ride to the nearest train station to get me back to Chicago. Would highly recommend.

Realized I had a nail stuck in my tire on my Tahoe, called the dealer and they only wanted to sell me a new tire for $170!! I made an appointment with with Freds and came by the next morning. Manny inspected the tire and then told me I didn't need a new tire but just a patch?! So he fixed it on the spot, so in 30 minutes I was back on the road and he saved me over $100 bucks and the headache of the a**holes at the dealership. Good honest shop and would recommend them highly-

Headlight went out on my 2015 Chrysler 200, took it to the dealer. The dealer said it was going to cost over $200 to replace, they fed me some garbage about it being tricky to replace because they have to remove the bumper to install ( I'm not a sucker) A friend suggested Fred's northfield, so I made a appointment on there website, which was quick and easy, they replied in minutes and I had a appointment with Manny the next day. Thanks to the great and knowledgeable staff at Fred's northfield. Highly recommended
