Ivan is awesome to work with. He and his crew did a thorough inspection of a 1978 FJ40 I bought. They were a one stop shop for me. They performed all the maintenance due, installed a stereo system, and changed out a rear bench for me. Ivan kept me updated throughout the process and walked me through the work once completed.

I cannot speak more highly of the guys at breaking point auto. I ve had my 1970 ford f-100 since 2019 and have struggled to find a mechanic who could work on it and give it the love it deserved and needed to run properly and safely. I am so glad I found this team here bc they were finally able to identify fixes and mods that could make my truck run better and safer than ever before, that no other mechanic was ever able to fix like they could. Very happy with the work they did to my truck and it drives like a brand new vehicle. Cannot recommend them enough for any job you have, be it on a classic or your new car. But if you have a classic car and need a pro to work on it, this is the only place to go where you ll get the job done right in the Chicago area

Ivan was super helpful and upfront about the services offered and how much they would cost. He also explained exactly why he thought my car needed what he suggested, and even said that the brakes were better off than we thought, thus making it potentially less likely I would buy brake service from him. Quick and easy, haven t had the work done yet but so far things were great.Services: Exhaust, Brakes

We have used Breaking Point several times in the past few years for minor repairs and always had a great experience. This time, I had a more substantial job - replacing a busted transmission pump. They did a fantastic job at a price of less than half what the dealer was proposing to charge. Always friendly, top notch work, local, and great value.Service: Transmission

Had a new engine installed and they did an amazing job. Cleaned everything in engine bay so it looks great and runs perfectly. Job was done on time and for a very reasonable price. Will definitely go back if I need any other work done.

I purchased an 87 Bronco XLT, Ivan and the team went through the entire vehicle, did a great job getting her back to life and took the time to research issues that were more complex. Look forward to bringing the Bronco back to get some upgrades this summer.

I really like that they are so approachable and can even handle last minute jobs. Service is always correct and on time.

The service here was excellent. My car happened to die as I was getting gas. After a new battery and an alternator I asked the staff to inspect the car since I hadn t had it serviced in quite a while. They gave me an honest assessment of was necessary to keep it road-worthy. They performed several services at reasonable prices and in a timely manner. I was very pleased.

These guys saved my old Jeep from rot and rust, as well as diagnosed issues another mechanic wasn't able to. Ivan went the extra mile and showed me photos of frame rot in areas I wasn't aware of, as well as removed rust in areas I wouldn't have been able to access without removing the body from the frame. A few days before Thanksgiving holiday and travel, my low milage 1995, 7 series 4.0 M60 BMW broke down and was towed in. Had to leave town, sans packed car. While here, the car was basically vandalised. Deep scratches in passenger side rear door (a month or so prior, I just did the paintwork myself on the door, sanding, and sanding, and buffing, and more sanding, buffing) , they let the car run with the radiator cap loose, anti freeze everywhere, even inside the sealed headlamps. I'm thinking of suing for damages.Follow up response: Yeah right, $600 later, including a $200 not exactly white glove tow job, from only a mile away, all I get back is ..." i dunno". Couldn't even drive to Evanston. Common fringe area vandals.
