Based on the reviews online and some first hand reference, I stopped by this place. I have two cars, live 2 blocks away and was looking for a good local mechanic. The dealer had given me $4,000 worth of work that I was sure could be done for less.The lady at the front was extremely rude. I was explaining all the different things I needed help with and she seemed engaged and as soon as she saw another customer walk in, she lost her patience and told me "I cannot talk to you all day, I have a customer waiting behind", what does that mean, I am a freakin customer too and we barely spoke for 3 mins! It felt more like an interrogation than a conversation.Based on what I heard and saw, I think Mr. Lee is a competent mechanic but the lady at the front desk is super impatient, impolite and extremely rude.You have a lost good local customer!! My only advise is to either teach your staff good customer service or forgo business.

Always a good experience at North Town Auto. Mr Lee is a Toyota specialist and keeps our 16 yr-old Highlander going like new. He s fixed our older Mercedes, too! We keep our cars a long time and having North Town in the neighborhood allows us to feel confident they will keep running smoothly.

Yesterday I went to pick up my car and saw Mr. Lee's face first time after the pandemic. He looks different and much younger! Also, before the pandemic (maybe a few more years back), Teresa was not there, it was always the old Mr. Lee and his apprentice. Are there two Mr. Lee's?

Knowledgeable and efficient. Diagnosed and repaired 2 leaking/rusted brake lines in a 13 year old hybrid in 4 hours and had me back on the road to Ohio Thanksgiving weekend.

I just had oil change and tire check (that kept deflating slowly) done for my 2022 van. They showed me the big nail that was stuck in the tire and explained what/how service was done very carefully. Stopped by to ask when my car could be looked at for a non-urgent repair. After the woman at the front desk asked me twice whether I had ever been there before (and me responding "no"), she could not/would not provide me with ANY kind of ROUGH estimate (today, tomorrow, next week) as to when it could be looked at, and explicitly told me to take it to my usual mechanic. After innocuously asking "So you won't give me a rough estimate?", she got extremely emotional -- it was surreal. I guess it's good that existing customers must keep coming back to keep it busy, but if you are a potential new customer, avoid Crazy Town Auto Service.

Mr. Lee is an excellent mechanic. Very thorough and knowledgeable. His quote was reasonable and his wife was great at communicating what needed to be repaired.At other repairs shops I've felt like I was getting had or upsold. Never here, Mr. Lee is a very trustworthy guy.

The woman on the phone was very rude. When I asked for an appointment, she asked for my license number. I told her I have the vin number. She actually said she was busy "and had things to do" and when I get the license number to call back. She acted like she didn't need my business. She said they would fix my starter when the weather was nicer outside. I asked what about taking it inside their garage? This repair shop apparently seems to be unorganized or not needing the business. Needless to say, I went somewhere else much better. Stay away from this shop that doesn't need business.

Every time I have brought in my vehicle for work Mr. Lee has done a great job. He explains the issues of my car and makes sure that I understand. He is spot on with his quotes and even comes in lower often times and will go the extra mile to please a customer.They have great mechanics that are very nice and helpful. When I have questions or concerns they are happy to talk when not in the middle of a service. Overall I enjoy my experience with Mr. Lee and North Town Auto every time.

I called them on Saturday this past weekend to get my car in there it has bad break pads and a rotor or bearing needs to be replaced. She told me to bring it in on Monday. When I called to inform I'd be bringing it in she told me they were booked at to come on Wednesday. So today I call them to inform them I'm coming and they say they're booked and I explain I'm having issues with a grinding sound so suddenly she changes her mind and tells me to come in. I come in and as soon as she found out I wasn't a current customer she lost all interest in doing business with me, and then proceeded to lie and say that they're legally not allowed to work on my car cause it wouldn't be deemed "salvageable" via registration which is absolutely not true and the only thing required to pass registration is emissions which doesn't correlate with the condition and it being salvageable. Then she accused me of lying to her because I said I wasn't driving the vehicle for the last week because I had discovered the issue. This woman is absolutely ridiculous and should not have a job there she's absolutely uneducated on the laws and simply lies to people they deem "not worthy" of their service. I don't discredit the ability of the mechanics here for I have heard good things. But to the lady running the front you're absolutely useless and shouldn't work there because you are gonna run that business into the ground if you're turning down anyone who isn't a existing customer. Upon leaving I called HEART Auto in Northbrook, explained my situation and they were more than happy to have my car worked on and they also backed the claim that the lady running the front was lying and was also completely uneducated on this sort of business. Go to HEART they told me "We don't care about those little irrelevant things. You're in a predicimine and we're here to help."

We have been going to Mr Lee forever. He always does great work, fast and always excellent prices.He works on our whole family s cars. Newer older foreign or domestic he just gets the job done.He has even saved us from buying expensive parts by fixing/welding things that others would just charge you for expensive new parts.I can t sing his praises enough.

Great repair shop and the owners are very nice. Didn t even have service here but the customer service is horrible. The first question she asked me was whether or not I was a current customer and when I said no she seemed to be not interested in my question. I was asking about a simple headlight service and she proceeded to tell me she could only do that on current customers. How does she expect to get more business if they will only perform services on previous customers. Makes no sense to me.

The shop owner and his staff are extremely nice to talk to and the shop owner is very ethical and honest. He probably could have talked me into a few things I didn t really need, but instead he helped me to understand what needed to be done and what the priority of each thing was. I will definitely be taking my car here for any future services.Service: Brakes

Absolutely THE place to go for auto sevice in Northbrook! We have used Mr. Lee for over 16 years. We totally trust him to give us great service at a great price. 100% honest. I take his advice every time because I know he really will recommend what is best.

North Town does great work. I ve been using Mr. Lee for years. He has kept my old cars running. Mr Lee serves the entire local community it seems. He is very fair and does great work. Thats why he is always so busy. He and his mechanics work their tails off to keep their customers happy!

Great place, excellent employees who are willing to help. The front end of my car recently got hit and even though they closed in under 5 minutes they waited until my car was towed to the shop. Thanks again guys!!

Had never been to this garage; however, the problem was quickly diagnosed and fixed. I was treated like I was a long-time customer. Being new to the area, it is good to know that I can get this type of service. Thank you.

I called on a Thursday to schedule an appointment for an oil change. I was told to bring my car that Saturday around 9am or 10am. I get there at 9:50am on Saturday and they refused to take my car. The only reason I was given was that they closed soon...1pm. I left feeling very upset and confused.

Took my car to replace few broken parts, brakes pads and rotors and paid way less compared to dealership s quote. Place to go for anything if your car is out of warranty.
