Carlos in the service center was a pleasure to work with. He was helpful, greeted me right away, and provided all information needed. The repair was done quickly and Carlos communicated to me when the repair was almost done as well as when they were finished up. There were some additional services he offered that I wasn't able to pay for at the moment, but he provided me a breakdown of the cost and services for when I am ready to have it done which I appreciate. Overall it was a great experience with Carlos and the service center and I would highly recommend them.Service: Brakes

I had my SUV serviced on Wednesday and had no issues with anyone or anything. My service advisor Carlos L was very personable and did a great job keeping me informed on the status. #NoOneButFord - happy customer.

My latest experience was not a good one. Service people are always great. But I brought my 22 Mustang GT in for an intermittent transmission issue, where it was shifting really hard under light driving. And now it's worse. They tell me to drive it for 3 weeks. Well I don't feel comfortable or confident driving it when it behaves in this manner. Especially in slippery or snowy conditions. When I say I had the worst experience at Ford is to put it lightly. I lost the key fob of my car (Mustang) which of course is my fault. I called the dealership to have an estimate of the service, they told me I only needed 1 key fob which was around $220-$240 + programming $90. When I bring the car in (towing) they say I needed TWO key fobs and each one is $270.5 with only programming charge of $90. Two days after that they call me to let me know that I now will be charged two programming charges. I asked If I could only have one key fob since I only needed one, they said No; I don t understand why they MAKE ME purchase two key fobs. My mistake ended up costing me $850+Thank you, Ford. Can t wait to sell the car and never again have a ford.

I scheduled to have my vehicle looked at on 4/21 for 9am appointment (got there around 8:20ish), they said it would be a few hours and offered a ride home. That was perfectly fine! I understand it could take a while. I questioned them multiple times if they would call me once it s done. I never received a call and I had to call regarding the vehicle. The first time I called, I talked to the service advisor, he said what was wrong and told me the balance. Told him I would call back with my card information to release the vehicle. I called two separate times after, the cashier was very nice. She stated he was busy on the phone and would call back in a few minutes. Again, I understand people get busy, it s not a big deal. I never received a call back to be able to give payment information to release my vehicle and had to call the following morning to find someone able to do it. I am really disappointed in the customer service from the advisor, the advisor I spoke with this following morning was very nice as well as the rest of staff. With my experience, I chose to take my repairs somewhere else.Service: Vehicle Inspection

I brought my car in to be diagnosed due to a warranty extension. I made an appointment and arrived at 8:00 and was told it would take just over half a day. Later in the afternoon I heard no word from service (at this point it's fine, sometimes things take longer). I call for an update and they can't get me through to service. As it gets close to their closing time I call twice more, again no one at service picks up or calls me back. At this point I get a ride to the dealer to speak to them in person before they close. I get there just before they close to find out that my car now won't be finished this day, and they hadn't bothered to even think of calling me to let me know. They insist though that I would get an update before 9am the following day. Next day, no update by 10 so I call them and again can't get through to the service department. I call twice more before noon for updates, and again can't get through to service.Eventually I get an email with an estimate for repairs, but no call to ask if I want to do the repairs or not.I decide to go to the dealership in the afternoon to pick up the car, and end up waiting around for several minutes because no one was manning the service department or the cashier's desk. They ask me if I want to do the repairs with no explanation of what was wrong, or why they where needed.This was hands down the most unprofessional and worst experience I've ever had at any car dealership or repair shop in my life. Do yourself a favor and avoid the headache of dealing with them and pick a different location for any repairs or maintenance.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I get all my truck maintenance done here, its been a great experience each time. The crew that works here is awesome and they keep you updated while your vehicle is being serviced which is awesome if you re waiting around. I had an issue with a box sensor and was causing a check engine light. Oscar from the service department was great and kept me informed throughout the diagnostic and repair process. They were able to troubleshoot the issue and get it repaired in a timely fashion. Tom and his team have always treated me as I am family there and you really do not find that anymore these days. I had Oscar as the service assistant. He kept me informed on the progress of my vehicle and when I first came in asked him about how long the oil change, etc., would take and he said about 1-1/2 hours and that's exactly how long it took. Took my 2015 Transit van in for a repair and they broke glow plug inside the engine and told me they can change the head on it for 9,000 or change the engine for 15,000. Funny how they break something and somehow they don t feel like they should own it. They also charged me for the technicians time for breaking the glow plug inside the engine. The shop supervisor didn t even offer a discount. Nope!! They charged me full price for the time it took to destroying my engine!! After they broke the glow plug off inside the engine, they proceeded to change the brakes on the van even though they couldn t fix the original repair. Stay clear of this service center.

Fix drivers seat track.First appointment requested a ride home, but ended up waiting three hours in the waiting room. After leaving, I noticed the tires had not been rotated as requested. Brought the car back to fix the driver seat for a three hour job and it took an entire day. picked up the car the following morning, the tires still have not been rotated. Service people were extremely friendly but some of the details had been missed.Service: Oil change

I had a problem with new Lightning and they were able to get me in and out before my regular dealership could get me in!! They are friendly and easy to work with. I am really happy that the Gerald Family purchased this dealership from Fox Valley Ford. (I left them in 2013.)I will be back!

Everyone was very friendly and knowledgeable. I brought my car in for scheduled transmission fluid replacement. They found that there was a recall. We opted to do the recall while it was there. The service use to be good at this location. I have noticed the last few times the quality of service has declined. Communication was poor with service staff to customer, it wasdifficult to get someone to answer the phone to ask your question, had to almost beg to get a vehicle replacement that is included in my warranty, that they were not going to provide and vehicle was in the shop for over a week. then the vehicle they provided was a service van (Ford Transit Van). Picked up my vehicle after the service was completed and it was dirty inside and out, and had a smell/odor on the inside consistent with grease and oil. Not a good experience since it has changed ownership.Service: Engine repair

Recall on the wiper blade motor and purchase and set up installation of mud flaps. The service personal there are dynamite they always treat me with the upmost receipted and the always take care of my truck. They have installed a few things for me and assisted me in what ever way I needed

I had taken my car to two other Ford dealerships and was given misinformation and being charged for a warranty item. I was able to go online and make an appointment to take it in at Gerald Ford. When I got there, Larry promptly assisted me. He informed me that I would need to leave the car for a day or so. He arranged to have someone drive home. When the mechanic determined that I needed a transmission replacement, Larry informed me that it was covered by warranty and told me when it would be ready. I requested a loaner and Larry told me that he would call the following day if the loaner was in fact returned in which he did. Larry called me as promised on Thursday evening to let me know my car would ready on Friday morning. Larry was very professional and provided great customer service. He has definitely made a customer out of me. I will return here for future service. While this may sound like he was just doing his job. I spent many years a customer service professional and I this being the third dealership with the same problem, I can tell you that you don t get the service that I received from Larry much anymore. He made this transaction smooth and stress free. Consequently, I have been side eyeing trucks, after driving the F-150 as a loaner, I think Larry unknowingly, sold me that truck. If so, I will only buy it at Gerald especially since I found out that it offers lifetime warranties.Service: Transmission replacement

Frustrating. I asked for a 40,000 mile check up to be sure everything is in good order. But I also wanted to check the alignment of the front end. Not sure what happened but when I called to check-in four hours after leaving the car, I was told the alignment equipment was not working. So my truck sat there but no one called to fill me in. I told the service guy to skip trying the alignment and move to the maintenance check (just to keep things moving). And I was expecting a full exam of my truck, and I expected recommendations. But I got nothing regarding vehicle health. I think they just changed the oil and I have to admit I m nervous as to whether they even did that. One final thing, and I hate coming across as being a complainer or being someone with unreasonable expectations, but the invoice recap said that the tires were rotated. After spending 45 minutes on the highway, I checked the tire pressure gauge and there were drastic differences. This kind of service is about trust, or the lack thereof. I won t be back. If you check your records you ll see that I ve been a loyal Ford customer. And it started 20 years before I bought from you. But I m done with Ford. Sorry but you asked. And admit it, none of this means anything to you.Service: Auto maintenance

Just recently bought my Expedition. It was used and barely on the lot for 24 hours. I had a few issues that I m assuming for part of the 180 point inspection that needed repairs. A simple motor for my back windshield wiper. They ordered it and replaced that in the blade. Even did a factory reset for the code to unlock the car. While it took a long time to troubleshoot the problem, my Service Advisor Oscar Nevarez kept me up to date on what the technicians were doing and finally with a satisfactory conclusion. Mr. Nevarez was courteous and made me feel all along that the problem would be resolved. He apologized profusely for the long delay but the test procedure took a long time, which was completely out of his control. I have used this service department exclusively since moving to Illinois in 2010 and will continue to do so because of their professionalism and going "the extra mile" to satisfy their customers.Services: Auto battery replacement, Battery

I recently purchased a vehicle here and enjoyed working with the whole Gerard Ford team. Ronaldo was my main contact and was responsive, attentive, and gave me the impression he was working to achieve a win win deal. In his absence Tom the manager made the deal very straightforward and easy to execute.
