My car was stolen so I brought it here. Said they wouldn t fix all the dents and scratches at the front of my car because it doesn't look too bad and didn t report it to my insurance because it would look sketchy because of the former reason also that they d have to take the whole front off. So they won t do it because they need to do work? They won t do it because they need to do their job? Terrible service. Who is this person to tell me it s not too bad. It s not his car? He didn t pay for it. Rude and disrespectful.Service: Body & Trim

Gerber is great. They did a wonderful post accident repair. And when one aspect was not addressed appropriately by a staff (who has since been let go), Joel, the manager personally handled it with kindness and professionalism. And their front desk person is friendly, courteous, and so personable. Would highly recommend Gerber Vernon Hills!Services: Painting, Body & Trim

This happened a few months back, but you should know how great this place is.I had a tail light out on my Nissan and the dealership said it would be 3+ days before they could get me in. I took it to a Jiffy Lube and they tried to replace it but had trouble getting the housing off. Something was stuck and they just gave up after trying it once and didn't really seem to care.I asked them what I should do and they pointed me towards Gerber Collision. I hadn't heard of them but desperately needed to get this tail light replaced.When I went to Gerber, I walked in and told them the problem. One of the repair guys came out to the parking lot to take a look. He spent about 10 minutes trying to get the housing off without damaging anything before getting another tech to come take a look. After another 10 minutes, they got the housing off, replaced the bulb, fixed the piece that was jamming the housing and put it all back together.This was better service than I have received anywhere else. When I asked how much I owed them, he told me THIS ISN'T EVEN SOMETHING THEY DO. This isn't a service they offer. They don't replace tail lights. But i was in a bind and these guys were so kind that they helped me anyway. They just did it lol. No charge. No mess. No problem. They wouldn't accept my money because this was so minor.Now, I'm not saying Gerber will give you free service or work or parts. Don't go asking for free stuff. I was the clueless guy who walked in needing help. But they saw someone in need and used their free time to help me out.I know better now than to bother a Collision Repair place for a tail light. But if I ever need Collision Repair, glass, etc. I will ABSOLUTELY be going to Gerber and you should too.

Terrible customer service. I have a 1999 GMC 3500 service writer completely wasted my time. The service writer did not inform be before driving to the shop that my vin has to show up on his computer system in order to give an estimate. Why didn't the service writer ask for my vin over the phone to check if the truck shows up on the system. Also I need my truck repaired why can't Gerber write an estimate.

This was the second time I came to Gerber Collision & Glass to get my car repaired. Both times I've came in, the staff was very pleasant & demonstrated exceptional customer service. I was always helped quickly & they really made the entire process easy. My repairs were done in less than a day, which I truly appreciated. The repairs that were completed on my car look amazing. My car looks like it never even got into an accident. I'm pretty sure someone also washed the outside of my vehicle afterwards because it was shiny & clean! I really appreciate all the efforts the staff put into not only the vehicle repairs, but the customer service as a whole. I'll definitely be a returning customer for years to come & I'll be recommending Gerber Collision & Glass to family/friends. Thank you!

Great experience! Taking my car to a shop has never been an easy process for me.. most recently,I had crashed my car in January and went to Crash Champions- they took about 4 months to fix my car. Crash Champions lacked communication and would change their ETA every week . I was left without a form of transportation for 4 months.I crashed my car AGAIN in June (same exact spot) and I was dreading the process again. We decided to try Gerber in Mundelein and they WOW ed me! The front desk lady was able to help me with the rental company. I dropped my car off and was in the rental same day. Gerber had constant communication with me AND my dad (thank you to your bilingual staff!) best part- my car was READY in just under 3 weeks. I was very pleased with the entire experience! :)

I would respectfully suggest you stay away from Gerber. After waiting three weeks for an opening they sat on my car without doing any work on it for over a week. And they were unable to do the work correctly -- I had to take it to another shop.

Update (after direct contact with Gerber's Customer Service Manager)Everything (including the 3-star review) originally mentioned is true - they did a decent job on the work itself, but multiple unkept promises, delays, and basically lies.I would much rather be told it will take 6 hours, then be surprised in 4 hours that it's complete, than to be told it will take 3 hours and have it take 2 days.Steal money, get caught, you sufferSteal time, someone else (me) suffersEither way, they're both a form of larcenyOriginal reviewMultiple unkept promisesWe'll send updates via text - never received an updateRepair should only take 2-3 hours - turned into 2 days11AM, we're washing now... 4 hours later, still not doneSimple repair of a bumper trim piece - scheduled for replacement AFTER they already received the part. I had the pleasure of doing business with Gerber Collision (Mundelein,IL) after an incident that occurred with my vehicle. They do business with state farm as an authorized repair center, so the process that they follow is very organized and streamlined in terms of handling the State Farm claims and repair process. You have the option of picking up a rental car at the facility after you drop off your car for the repairs to be done.I had pleasure of working with Epi Gutierrez (Estimator) and Joel Johnson (GM), they were extremely communicative throughout the repair process and they always kept in touch via text and phone. They did an excellent job on my collision repair to the point where it looks brand new. I highly recommend this place and can attest to their quality of work.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

The Good First. Gerber was very responsive with my vehicle, updates and communication was very good. Paint matches great. However When my GMC Acadia came back, hood/headlight was misaligned. Light was way off.. When taking the vehicle back for the hood misalignment. It seemed an aggravation and was rushed done to which the Hood was still misaligned as was the light. After this I no longer want to bring my Vehicle back to people upset that you are there about their work. Lining up a Vehicle in an Auto-body repair shop should be key to return service, I had a ding on the back of the car which I was going to use them to fix. No longer.. Well be going to Adams Auto body as my past experience with them was good. If someone brings you a $20,000 car, you don't slap it together and say good enough. I had to drive with it into the night and the passenger light was so bad off Alignment that it was not lighting up Interstate highway signs. Had to turn on Fog Lights. basically pointing at the ground. Not sure if my experience was a rushed job and not the norm but all I can do is give my experience.Services: Painting, General repairs & maintenance, Body & Trim

This place owned and operated by honest people!!! Very rare to find nowadays!! I took my car here after getting rear-ended at the parking lot. I called and was told to stop by to have the damage inspected/estimated. I told them my car was hit at the parking lot. I initially asked them for estimate so I can inform the driver/her car insurance to cover the damage. They took my car inside the shop very quickly (service is fast and reliable) and took time to inspect the damage. Both Joel and Nick inspected the car and within 20-30 minutes they came out and told me they fixed my car bumper. It looks like a new bumper and I did not see the scratches, so I asked them how much I owed them for the work. They REFUSED to accept any payment even I won't be the one who will pay for the damage. The other driver or her car insurance will compensate for the repair. They STILL REFUSED to accept any payment!!! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for honest and trusted people to take good care of your cars!!

A year ago we had the front windshield replaced on our 2017 CRV due to an unrepairable crack. It was easy to make an appointment, the windshield was fixed on time as promised and for a fair price. Most importantly, we have a number of safety features that rely on proper alignment and the replacement of the glass did not impact their performance, saving us about $500! The windshield is still leak-free after a year and performs as good as the OEM glass. I would whole-heartedly recommend this Gerber (Mundelein) to replace your car's windshield.

I had a small issue with my car as the front bumper was detached from the passenger side panel due to a broken bracket. The dealer would have wanted to replace the whole bumper for a significant coat. I talked to Nick at Gerber and he ordered the bracket, secured the bumper and didn't even charge me as it was a small amount of effort.Great service. Not looking to try to make a small problem a bigger one. Highly recommend.

NIck and Joel are unbelievable to work with. No pun intended, I highly recommend bringing your car to this Gerber location. Throughout the entire process, Nick and Joel made sure I knew what was happening and that they would deliver on everything that we discussed. Even when I went to pick up the car, they let me know what was worked on, went over each repair and made sure I was satisfied. If something didn't look right, they didn't hesitate to take it back into the garage to make it look better. I can' say enough about how amazing it was to work with Nick and Joel.

8hr estimate has turned into 8 days with no car. No communication unless I call and even then can't get a full story of what's going on. Each call adds another thing that needs done or they are waiting for. I get that a visual estimate might miss some little gadget, but NO communication when something extra is needing repair or replacement. Took late into 2nd day for them to disassemble.

I traveled across country to visit my son and grandkids and had the windshield trim piece on the drivers side come loose on my Acura TSX. Gerber repaired the trim piece the same day I called. These guys are awesome from Joel at the front desk to Angel in the shop! Great customer service, awesome repair work and they had me in and out of there in 15 minutes! Outstanding service, repair and results on my vehicle following an unfortunate rear-ending by an errant driver. Joel made the whole process hassle free and was thorough and courteous. Not only were the repairs by Angel top notch the car was complete 1.5 days early. You need collision repairs, call these folks!

Brought my Lincoln and previously my Toyota here. Always great customer service and quick turnaround. Some kid rear-ended my car and was really hoping to have it back by next weekend. Had it back within 4 days. Great job guys!

This shop is fantastic!! I went there after getting rear-ended for the second time in 6 weeks and wish I had gone here the first time! It was so easy to get an estimate and file the claim, they worked with my insurance provider directly. Everyone was nice, knowledgeable and professional. They were were flexible with my schedule and let me drop my car off right when they opened so I could get to work. When I dropped off my car for repairs they took the bumper off, realized there was nore damage than it looks like from the outside, ordered parts to repair it, the parts were delivered, and they fixed everything, and washed it...all in the SAME. DAY. I dropped it off at 7:30 and was able to pick it up at 4:30, it was so easy! I highly recommend this place....hopefully I dont get rear-ended again but if I do I know where I'm taking my car!!

One year ago I got into a small accident with my Subaru wrx. I went to the Subaru dealership and they quoted me over $2000 and told me I would need new rims. so then I went to gerber and they quoted me around $1300 and the sales man Joel told me that I wouldn t need new rims and demonstrated this by wiping off the scratch with his hand. Joel was a straight forward, no bs, salesman who saved me a lot of money. So when my car got scratched up yesterday in my school parking lot I went back to Gerber collision to get a quote on how much it would cost to fix because of the previous positive experience. I met Joel again today, impressively from our brief interaction a year ago, off the top of his head he seemingly remembered my name my car and multiple other details. Joel, once again, gave me no bs and got my car fixed at no cost by simply touching on some paint to where it had been chipped and his boss nick casually buffed out the scratches for free. No doubt this could have consumed a lot of my time and energy if I went to my dealership but instead I was in and out with my car being fixed in 20 minutes only requiring one visit. Joel is what a salesman should be and Gerber is what you wish most repair shops were.

Car got broken into (driver side rear window). Called Gerber and create appointment online. Gerber called to confirm appointment. Mike came and performed excellent job. He was detailed and professional. Overall great experience with service & staff. Highly recommend them.

I went in to get a couple of dents fixed and repainted on two of the doors from my jeep cherokee. Then when i got to see the results it looked like nothing hit the door in the first place, like brand new staright from the dealership. I was very pleased. They even gave me a ride home when i dropped it off. Excellent customer service!

I used this place for my car accident. Great service, and very fast and smooth operations. Would recommend.Update I pick my car today and they even buffed out some existing scratches that were not part of the accident as a complimentary service. This is a really great shop I can't I can't say enough good things about it
