I had a great afternoon here in the Quintessence Audio. Mick and Patrick are super nice and friendly , willing to communicate and answer questions.I had 2 and half hours of stress free listening experience to the Hi Hi End system including Wilson Sasha V Dcs Boulder and transparent. You have to visit this place if you are in the quest for real music

There is no better high end audio store than Quintessence Audio and the owner, Mick, is an absolute legend in the industry. I ve been a customer of Mick s for 24 years. There is no better place in the country. It gets better every year. It s worth flying in if you don t live close. Music comes to life. Magical experience.

A very enjoyable experience with the crew at Quintessence Audio!Mick, Patrick and John made my shopping and listening experience worth the drive from Wisconsin. The new Simaudio streamer/dac is a great improvement in my system and I enjoy the music almost daily!Thank-you for the 5-star service and enjoyable visit. I will be back!

Great guys. I picked up a DSC Rossini Dac/ Streamer from them. It just arrived today and it s perfect. I got a great deal and it was packed up properly and shipped quickly to California. I couldn t be happier with the entire process.Thanks again to the entire team.Highly recommend.

Excellent in store inventory and two demo rooms that bring out the best in all the equipment they offer. This is the place to go in Chicagoland for your high end HiFi needs.

Needed to buy a replacement cartridge for the first time. One of my friends from high school recommended this shop, and I'm glad they did. While being surrounded by such extravagant equipment is a bit intimidating, the guys in the shop provide a super friendly environment for any level of audiophile. When you come here, you feel like family.I purchased the Hana EH cartridge at the recommendation of the staff, and got it setup on my turntable at no extra charge by the owner. Happy to say my records have never sounded better!!!I will definitely be a returning customer, and I especially hope to come in during their listening nights sometime soon!

I have been a long term customer of quintessence audio bought my first turntable with mick in 2009 and only recently underwent major upgrades . John , Patrick and Mick have always been available to discuss audio and have been very helpful in my journey. This could be the best hifi store in the entire country. Their love of audio is apparent in every conversation and the team (especially Pat) will patiently set up anything they have in the store for you to audition. Visiting Quintessence is pure joy and a must for any enthusiast looking for new gear. Can't wait to see (and hear!) the new listening room when it's finished.

When I woke yesterday to a nasty buzz coming from my 25 year old McIntosh Amplifier I was both sad but grateful that this remarkable piece of equipment enriched our lives with joyous music for all of this time! Now the work began quickly finding a replacement.After researching some authorized dealers in the area a phone call to John began the ball rolling to an enormously positive experience! With finding equipment in stock a dream of the past and the amplifier I wanted on a 6 month backorder John offered up his floor model at a very fair price. I type this review thoroughly enjoying the music that John and Mick have brought back into my life and can highly recommend their compassionate and knowledgable service!

This place is heaven for those who love audio. And the folks working and running this shop couldn't be friendlier, more giving with their time and knowledge, and easier to work with.I came in to get a repair quote on a Focal speaker which inexplicably stopped working and before they quoted me, they popped it open, ran a few tests, and decided to try a few more things before giving me bad news.That extra effort revealed the problem to be something really minor, that they fixed for free, with a smile on their face.These guys have my business from here on out!

Great people to work with. Extremely knowledgeable shop and probably the best store in Chicagoland area. They have 2 outstanding listening rooms .I got some of my equipment there and couldn't be happier. Highly recommended!

If you're into quality audio, this is your destination, whether you in Chicagoland or not. You won't find nicer, more knowledgeable folks to help you on your journey to that perfect system. They take great pride in only carrying the best and knowing how it all works together. These folks will listen to your needs and help you achieve your goals. No pressure, no push, just polite friendly sales and service. An asset to two channel audio.

Not a great customer service experience. Called today to discuss a used item they're selling online. I asked how old the item was and how long they had owned it. The gentleman who answered the phone was pretty condescending. I guess some clients may interpret snobbery as authenticity in this kind of establishment, I just see it as rude. Two stars because it was a short conversation and I'll chalk it up to a bad day on the part of the sales rep.

Finest audio gear in the world and friendliest most knowledgeable staff anywhere. Mick and his crew will not steer you wrong. Both Stereophile & The Absolute Sound are right, these guys can put together some of the best sounding systems you've ever heard!

If you are looking for a truly outstanding buying experience look no further.Mic and Dave at Quintessence audio will solve your audio needs without any malice or snobbery. These guys understand that everyone has a budget,whether it is 2k, 50k or higher. Mic and Dave go out of their way to help find a HI Fi solution that will fit within anyone's budget. Their selection will astonish the most discriminating customer and, don't be surprised if you, the customer chooses something different than what you might have expected. I never thought i would choose a Prima Luna product because of where it is made,but after listening to it and overcoming my internal objection I am the proud owner of a Prima Luna integrated amp.It is an amazing product. Another great purchase from Q audio is my Clearaudio performance DC turntable- fantastic table to say the least. Whether you are in the market or you just want to look at great gear, do yourself a favor and go the store and audition some great gear. You will not be disappointed working with Mic and Dave.Eric
