This place is unbelievable, dropped my car off to get it fixed. Turn out there is only a small adjustment that needs to be made. Everything was done so quickly. The owner also didn t charge me at all. He seems like a very honest gentleman.

I normally do my oil change for my car but since we moved, we now street park and i was not able to do an oil change on the street, plus i put a lot of mileage to my car due to my work and hobby. Normally i wud drive to Dupage county to get a military discount and cheaper sales or service taxes. Since we have moved in this area, im looking for an autoshop that i can trust and rely on, i started calling well known nationwide autoshops and they charge way too far from my budget. Then my second options are the local autoshops. I finally called Dempster Auto Service and ask for conventional or regular oil change price. Mr. Kim said "$25" It fits my budget perfectly and after knowing the owner and the mechanics, they gave me a discount. I don't know if it's military discount or for being a first-timer customer. The mechanic also checked my tire pressure and filled it up with air and cleaned/wipe the dead leaves off my windshield. Those small things, impressed me, it shows that they care about their customers, so im very satisfied. They have coffee pot that everyone is welcome to make their own coffee, there's a tv but it was in korean channel. Im not much a TV watcher so it doesnt really affect me. One thing that caught my eye is their American flag and POW flag outside facing the busy street of Dempster St. They also supported or sponsored many sport and they received 2 certificate of appreciation from American Legion which is awesome. It would be really amazing if they start giving military discounts to our armed forces and veterans though or perhaps a loyalty program. But nonetheless, i highly recommend this place, support our local businesses!!! I will definitely come here again. Building trust and friendship takes more than one visit.

The owner, Richard, is what you want in a service repair owner. Honest and thorough, so much so that their reputation IS THE MARKETING.If it's required to be fixed, they will tell you. If it can wait, they will tell you that as well.A repair shop is one of the few things in life where one must have a 'dependable go-to'. Dempster Auto Service is on my 'go-to' list. The best on the northshore!

I have been taking my cars to Mr Kim for 5 years and he does the best work. They can fix almost every issue with you car and they are very honest! I will never go to another mechanic for my car needs. They also work very very efficiently to get your car done in a timely matter!

After receiving a referral, I brought my car to this mechanic. I found them to be honest and very helpful. I shared the issue in having with my car and then scheduled to bring it in. They checked the car and shared their findings and recommendations. I decided to proceed with the repairs after receiving the quote, and they were able to complete the repairs that same day. Great service and communication.

Beware they try to add to the bill a timing belt that I had already replaced 4 months ago just because it still looked brand new very upset .

I ve been taking my car to Mr. Kim and his mechanics for about 2-3 years now. As someone who knows nothing about cars, it s reassuring that I don t have to worry about getting scammed. Mr. Kim is extremely honest and his prices are more than fair. He s more than willing to go the extra mile, show you exactly what s wrong and explain how they are going to fix the car. I took my car there for an oil change and mentioned I just bought the old jaloopy and their mechanic did a very thorough inspection of the vehicle. He identified issues with tire rims leaking, state of my brakes, condition of my transmission, brake and washer fluid, suspension issues, leaks on the power steering system. None of them were an upsell, they were proper issues and I am glad the mechanic was so knowledgeable and detailed. Definitely gave me more peace of mind then before I went there. And the oil change was much cheaper then franchise shops in the area. Will definitely recommend them.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

I have been going to Mr. Kim for 7 years for all of my cars. He is gifted and fast and always does the job right. He is extremely honest and the price is always reasonable. I recommend him to everyone I know. He is also very funny and friendly and always professional.

Great, honest owner that works really hard. they are actually so busy that sometimes you have to try them three or four times. but it is worth the wait. I had a good service, shop stood behind their service, gave advice, invited me back for more service. I had a fabulous experience with Mr. Kim and his team! We are making the cross country trip from New York to Sam Francisco, and in Evanston we noticed a burning rubber smell. We ended up at Dempster Auto Service and they fixed the issue with our breaks quickly and effectively. We were able to get back on the road the same day and travel for 12+ hours, no problems. It is not easy to find honest mechanic nowadays. Mr Kim is amazing.I am using his service already for many years. Not only he does very good job fast but is also affordable and honest.Today I had squeaking brakes due to ice under the cover. When an interior door panel in my car became dislodged, I brought the car to the dealer to be fixed. The repair coordinator told me, 'we are SO busy that you'll have to bring it back in a few days, and it'll cost at least $150 to take the panel off and see what's happening. Maybe more.' UGH. :-(So then I drove over to Dempster Auto. Mr Kim came out, actually looked at the door panel rather than a price sheet... and was able to put it back in place in a minute or so. <3So impressed with Mr Kim's can-do, get-it-fixed attitude. :-)

Been taking care of my family and I for years. Most of my relatives are serviced here. Always a great job, years ago I would see a different mechanic who always charged me for some other bullshit then I would drive away with the same issue. After going to dempster auto service I've been satisfied ever since.

My bicycle broke down in the forest preserve and I needed a fix to get home. The mechanic stopped working on a car and provided a fix so I could get home. Incredible customer service.
