Greetings.I have a '86 Chevy C10. W/SBC 355 engine.Had an issue with my transmission (700R4) skipping gear.John went thru and built the transmission as if it was his own.Added the stall convertor which was nonexistent and set the TV cable accordingly.The time and money spent is backed by a 3 year warranty.Knowing my "Squarebody" is set up properly, Priceless!Thank you for the professional service.Sincerely Pete

Just picked up my 2005 Ranger that had some intermittent shifting issues with the transmission in drive and reverse. John looked at it and determined the torque converter was not holding enough fluid after it was parked for a few days especially in the cold weather. With 72K miles I thought about getting it rebuilt, but this would cost between three and four thousand. He put a new filter and trans fluid in and suggested I drive it more rather than let it sit. Honesty at its best and I can still decide if I want the rebuild. Honesty with integrity sells me every time. Thanks John.

They're amazing! I stumbled upon them about a year ago while taking a family member there to grab their vehicle. Once I arrived, I had a brake line bust. They said they would fit me into their schedule which ended up being done a lot quicker than I thought! Since then, I've gone to them for everything. Their pricing is affordable and their work is done right and promptly. I would and have recommended them to friends and family.

I contacted J&A on Monday Jan 15th (temperatures were -15F) regarding a check engine light. They were swamped but said they could look at it on Wednesday. Good to their word they looked at it for several hours on Wednesday and concluded no mechanical issues were discovered. The check engine was probably due to the extreme cold. To top it off, J&A did not charge me for their time which was very generous. Thank you very much for looking the car over thoroughly on ahort notice and for your generous no charge. We will continue to use your business and will continue to recommend you to friends needing a mechanic.Thanks again very much!!

Took my 65 chevelle ss had transmission issues and they replace it with a new two 5 speed transmission and it works great.

I was driving back to St. Louis when my transmission went bad and stopped at J & H. J & H did a quick diagnostic for free and referred me to some tech info. J & H then helped me with my car staying at shop overnight and I came back with my trailer. Thank you for your help! NO Charge and hope to payback someway. Very grateful I stopped their.

Had my vehicle in to check transmission. John found another issue that would cause my problem. I was honestly told about an issue with my charging system, and that my transmission is healthy. Between myself and my family we have had 4 transmission's replaced here in the last 15 years. Everytime it's the same honest service, and amazing customer service experience. I can't recommend this place enough.This is a separate review. Just had my girlfriend's car in for transmission work, and they hit it out of the ballpark again. Quit diagnosis easy options for fixing and even an option for our vehicle to be done before Thanksgiving. We thank them and told them that we could wait until the following week, and appreciate their fast reliable service. To the team over at J&A We can't thank you enough for another fabulous transmission repair. I can't recommend this shop enough for transmission work. Myself and several of my family members have had maintenance, transmission repair and replacement, and specialty transmission builds done. Every time the work is five stars! Don't just take my word for it read the other reviews and pay a visit to the shop and find out what your options are if you need transmission work.

Probably my biggest saving grace for me to keep my car. My 2008 Saturn Sky was damaged in a test drive to diagnose a problem at another shop, when they claimed that them dropping the car into low and redlining it wasn't the issue i did my research. then i came here, and let me tell you this, i am for sure going to be a customer for J and A. The owner took his time to figure out my issue instead of trying to push me away. if i could give 10 star i most certainly would.Service: Transmission

The people here are very honest and kind. My dad goes here all the time because he knows these people won't recommend services you don't need and will always be up front and honest about the services and price. It's a little family owned business, but this place is a great place to get your car worked on by honest people.

After an absolutely horrible experience at another mechanic, we took our truck to J&A and received 5-star treatment. They rebuilt my husband s transmission for a reasonable price and it runs like a dream! They are very quick on their repairs and so friendly! I work for a Small Business - Alarm Company and I was informed by my technician that he had a driveability issue with his van at 5:30am on Thursday. I had him contact J & A Transmission since he lives locally and see when they might be able to get the vehicle in for diagnosis. I knew everyone was backed up. He told me would be next week. Told technician to drop it off as it wasn't going to do us any good anyway. I get a call hours later that John the owner told my technician to stick around and he would see if he himself could test drive the vehicle to see if a major transmission issue or a quick fix. An hour and a half later came back with the conclusion the transmission is bad. From one small business to another this is so appreciated. The quick diagnosis so we can plan from here. We are waiting on the estimate but at least I know that we have to plan for further out. We take pride in our customer service and it is very apparent that so does J & A Transmissions. We had them replace the transmission and the outstanding customer service continued. Quick turn around time. Would highly recommend them.

I wasn t able to drop my vehicle off for 4 new tires so I was expecting a long wait time there. But I was out of there before I knew it it , and the service was great as always! Morris Tire and Auto Service is truly a professional repair facility. The employees are competent and always trying to accommodate the customers needs. I brought my 99 s10 here to have a transmission installed and I have to say, hands down the best shop I've ever been to and will continue to go to. They were very quick to start working on it and got it done quickly and they even provided the tow. Extremely fair price for the work and even found a few other potential issues while they were working.

J and A came highly recommended and they showed me just why. They are true experts and they conduct themselves with the highest level of integrity. I had a serious transmission issue and they had me fixed up and ready to roll, right on schedule and at the estimated price for repair. Having car problems is always stressful and I m so glad John, Aaron and their staff were there to alleviate all worry, stress, and concern. I trust them with my cars and you should, too. I had a tire blow and didn t feel comfortable driving all the way to a Mercedes Benz dealership. I received EXCELLENT customer service, and my tire was ordered and installed in less than 24 hours! Good service is KEY and I m so grateful to find a professional, reliable shop only 5 miles from my home. THANK YOU.... anything else I need done, I m going here FIRST!

J&A is top notch for any vehicle repairs you may need! Office staff is always friendly and accommodating. I specifically appreciate that John is always available to talk through and explain the findings with your vehicle, he will always provide how they suggest it should be fixed and let you decide from there. I never question them, the owners and technicians are very educated!

I have been using J&A for about 5-6 years and have had excellent service. Scheduled services have been done on time and budget. Unscheduled work was done in a reasonable time frame. I have a HIGH mileage vehicle (260,000+ miles) and it is still reliable because of the care it has received there.

So last week sometime my mothers car broke down on the way to renew her license so she pulled off into this places parking lot. The gentleman there offered her and ride and side he would look at it well myMother assumed because of the circumstances he d just look at it for free . Wellmy mother had already had a lower quote and told him she s sorry but she s taking the vehicle elsewhere and has someone ready to pick up the vehicle but this gentleman is now saying he wants 35$ for his time on vehicle he literally drove it into his shop looked at it did nothing to it now he s holding her car in his shop and told her he wants 35$ to get it out.
