We have been bringing our grandchildren here for years. In the past years we have been able to check in an hour early... with no problem, this year I called the day before and asked if we would be able to check in early and she said if the cabin was ready to go but it would be a 10.00 fee per hour if you come early, I was very surprised by that! ( Thiswas never the case in the past years) I Politely said thank you but no I cannot pay extra, my daughter then called and said she would be willing to pay the extra $10 for us to come early and they gave her the run around... So at this point we just decide we will come and check in at 3:00 check in time. I get to the campground at 2:40 walk in and say I'm here to check in for a cabin and she says okay when she pulls my reservation and recognizes the name and then she says you need to come back in 20 minutes we can't check cabins in early as I was walking out another family was walking in I proceeded to go sit in my car 5 minutes later they called and said oh you can come check in now when I went in the other family that I passed as I was going out was getting their keys to their cabin with no problem but I had to go sit in my car...and wait till 3:00 check in and she was very rude!I do feel like the inside of the cabin was cleaner than it has ever been in years past... The outside is in shambles, ( I was embarrassed to take pictures of us on the deck) it's missing pieces of the log cabin siding, the deck is rotting, under skirtingis falling off , and worse of all the sliding door was so hard to open and close ( we remember this from last year) within hours of checking in the metal frame holding the glass in pulled away from the glass itself! We had to call after hours and maintenance came in a timely manner, he tried fixing the frame and ended up shattering the glass patio door! He taped it up and put cardboard over the shattered glass and we went rest of the weekend waiting for the glass to fall in.... we had our 6 grandchildren with us...I felt like it was an unsafe situation with children...no one ever called or came by to see how the shattered glass was holding up ... for the money they are charging for these cabins $$$ they need to be better maintained...I can't recommend renting the cabins at all!! The grounds itself are nice and do see some improvements there. kids enjoyed the activities! I really can't say that we will be returning next year!

Brought grand kids for the Halloween creek end. This was second year . Grand kids had a blast. We were year last year stayed in rustic cabins, ask the grand kids about going again (this year) they said yes but we need abath room. So we rented the deluxe cabin. At the end of the week end we ask about reserving for next year, was told by office the deluxe cabins may be eliminated. Is this true. I brought my kids here 20 years ago for the Halloween weekends and started to do this again.

Really fun place. Employees were nice and accommodating. Big pool with good hours. Fun activities for kids and good playground and game room. We assumed there would be more food available to purchase at the shop for some quick meals, so plan better than we did, but town wasn't too far away to pick up supplies.

My parents used to bring us here when we were kids and have always had great memories, I ve read a lot of bad reviews but I promise you if your planning on camping don t trust what other people say come find out for yourself. When we arrived late ( 7 pm) we were greeted by the workers who were kind and did nothing but help us get into the right spot and get settled. The kids loved meeting the bears, take in fact we arrived on a Thursday in the off season when everyone s back in school , and yogi, his side kick, and his girlfriend all made an appearance. It was quiet all weekend and we did not get bothered by anyone.

If I could rate them higher than 5 stars, I would!! The staff have all been top notch!! They go above and beyond to make sure everyone is having a great time! The RV sites are clean and spacious! There is so much to do here! From swimming, games, playground, jump pad and gem mining. Not to mention the planned activities the staff puts on! Great walking paths too!By far this is our new favorite spot! We will DEFINITELY be back!!

On Friday, July 28th a severe storm ripped through the park. I have to commend management for their quick actions to make sure everyone was safe. The storm came with no warning. No sirens nor code red alerts from phones. No injuries just tons of trees down.Management was out Che king grounds within minutes checking to make sure everyone was safe. The park has been going through construction for over a yearSlowly things are improving.I cant wait to see more improvements and the bright future ahead .

So i was very hopeful the reviews I had previously read were just picky people. Unfortunately they are not. The park is very beautiful however there isn't much to do. So we rented a cabin for fathers day weekend with the hopes of a few days by the pool with the kids getting wore out didn't happen. We tried having the kids do what little activities there were however that was not enough to keep them entertained. Not once did I see anyone working on the pool, with as much money as your pulling in daily an emergency pool company would have been well spent for all the people that were there. The pool was closed the entire time we were there, we ended up going to raging waters which was close by however with the amount of money we had already spent on the cabin it was a unexpected expense. The cabins were small and cute but there was no preperation that there would be no linnens, a email with what size beds were there and to bring sheets would have been nice. Overall we left a day early as it wasn't what we were looking for. The pool is your biggest attraction I suggest you try and keep it open especially on a holiday weekend. The staff at the store needs to be more friendly,a hello goes a long way.. Every time we walked in it was quiet and the workers would just stare at us...Akward!

I am very disappointed with some of the changes made here. We were just there this past weekend for water weekend, and the staff and everything was really nice. However, my 3 year old ONLY wanted to see the bears. In our 3 nights there, they saw the bears once, for a few minutes, and that was it. Then, the day we were leaving, they were going to do a heyride with a bear at 10:15. We get down there and the hey ride already left at 10 (with a bear) and then the bear got off and the 10:15 heyride had no bear (even though clearly it was on the schedule)! My daughter was hysterical! We've been coming here for 10 years, and now that we've tried a few more locations, I don't believe we will be coming back to this one. Nothing annoys me more than when they don't follow the schedule that they gave you when you checked in. I'm leaving very disappointed and upset because my toddler is devastated. How hard is it to just stick with your schedule? People take their kids to yogi bear to interact with the bears. We were lucky we were able to get a picture. Not to mention, the kiddie pool was closed, the pool was NOT heated, and the hot tub was also closed!

We were headed to the Chicago area and had initially planned on boondocking. We made last-minute plans to head to Jellystone when we heard the weather might make us a bit uncomfortable (it was forecasted to be hotter than the hubs of hades). And when I say "we," I mean that we were traveling in a 6-RV convoy.I called and spoke with Sharon at Jellystone Chicago, who was SUPER helpful and sympathetic to our needs. She set us up, spoke with each couple separately as we passed the phone among one another, and patiently ensured everyone in our group had their needs met.BONUS! Upon our arrival, we found that she'd made a special welcome package for each and every couple in our group! If all of your customer service is like what we received at Jellystone, Chicago... we'll make it a habit to visit Sun Outdoors parks more often.

I don't understand all the poor reviews. My family is picky, so after reading some negative reviews my expectations were admittedly low. I was definitely a little hesitant about this stay, but we had an awesome time and we were all pleasantly surprised! Despite the fact that it was nearly 100 the whole weekend! For what they are, the camping cabins are nice and clean and the AC was able to keep up with the heat. I will say it was the most $$ I've ever paid for a 'camping cabin' without even a bathroom, but it was a great time and definitely worth it in the end. The kids loved the hay rides and the pools. The adults loved the evenings around the fire after the kids went to bed. I'm sure we'll be back in the coming years.

It was a really nice campground with a lot of activities for the kids. Bathrooms were really clean! I would have gave it a 5 star rating but I did have an issue. I stayed in a cabin. It was clean however they put a coffee pot, coffee, creamer and sugar in the cabin. When I got all our stuff in the cabin I looked at the creamers and all the sides were chewed on every one of them. I wouldn't have used them anyway but thought it was odd. I did see little ants in the tray. I sprayed the ants and was hopeful that was it. The last night of my stay I heard chewing and I looked around didn't see anything by the coffee pot. I was up most of the night wondering what was in the cabin with us. When the sun came up I peeked out the window curtain and to my surprise there were more coffee creamers on the window ledge and some kind of animal droppings all along the ledge. I was thankful we were leaving that day! I did tell the young girl at check out and she was real short with me not wanting to be bothered and said she would tell house keeping. I know it's not the campgrounds fault that critters get into the cabin but it would be nice if house keeping would have went in there before our arrival. They would have seen the chewed creamer, coffee, ants and the animal droppings!

Rented a cabin and first thing we smelled was gas, then the hot water did not work, when we let customer service know all they did was shut off stove gas so we had no stove as well. After that not one person came to see if we were ok but instead they came and hastled us about having one car too many on the lot. For what they charge not worth it...

Staff was absolutely horrible! They all had attitudes and were very unprofessional. They all looked completely miserable. Bathrooms were very dirty and had no hot water. Manager Stephanie, was very unprofessional and had very poor communication. Something as easy as asking people politely to step out the pool so that we can do wrist band check turned into a arguing match every hour because staff didn't know how to be polite and explain what they were doing. We have been to other Yogi bear sites and never were this bad.

Horrible experience. Staff was extremely rude and very unprofessional. You arrive and they give you no information but hand you a little yellow bag and damn near tell you figure it out, good luck. The manager Stephanie was very unprofessional and not very helpful. Felt unwelcomed. No hot water the entire weekend. Bathrooms were very dirty. They were never cleaned the entire weekend or properly restocked with paper towels or hand soap. Very overpriced for such a horrible experience. Ive been to couple jellystone parks in the past and never experienced anything like this.Don't waste your time or your money and take your family somewhere you can build positive and happy memories.

Very disappointed with the restrooms, no warm water to take a shower, no one cleaning the restrooms throughout the day. The staff was not very friendly. The Manager Stephanie was not a very polite person. Overall not a great experience at Yogi bear campground. Would not recommend to any family or friends. I been to other Yogi bear campground and never had a bad experience compared to this location. If I would be able to post no stars I would. Unfortunately to leave a review I have to mark one star.

We probably camped here 15 years ago and can definitely say it was better back then. I have always loved the trees in this campground and the asphalt roads and concrete patio was nice. They also dont allow golf carts which was kind of a refreshing change. We booked for the Holiday weekend last November did not site lock since we have never been moved at a campground well they decided to move us two weeks prior and we noticed and put the other camper we were camping with two rows away and we even have the same last name. When I called to see if we could get any closer to each other the lady was very helpful on the phone and got us back to back. Well when we arrived the cousins site had been dug out to remove some bushes and after the previous few days it was a mud pit. We checked on the site next to us that remained empty all weekend that was paid for but was a no show. They are in the process of remodeling their bathhouse but they definitely needed a superhero cleaning crew for the weekend because they were filthy thanks to some rude campers. The mini golf was no longer and so was the second pool. The little pool next to the big pool was still getting cleaned and ready for the summer. It appears they are installing a jumping pillow, I saw a box in the playground area with it but not ready. Wifi and cell phone reception was very spotty not that you need that the whole time camping. With this being the first official weekend of camping season this campground really didnt start the camping season on a high note. Not planning on returning anytime soon and will look for other options.

just came back from a memorial weekend 3 night stay at this park. we really had a great time and the staff was friendly, attentive and upbeat our entire trip. we enjoyed all the activities and entertainment that was planned for the weekend. I'm really surprised to see the numerous negative reviews. A couple of complaints were valid. Both pools were way overcrowded, our biggest complaint as well. The bathrooms started off clean and tidy the first couple of days but by the end of our stay seemed to get dirtier and less tended too. There seemed to be a large group with few supervising adults and many rowdy children. Staff seemed to attempt to resolve the situation with a wristband and stand with your parent check but nothing came of it. I also think the campsites were too small and not woodsy enough for us. Overall though we liked our experience and would come back again.

We are pretty easy going travel trailer campers. It doesn't take much to please us. Fun for the kids, clean operational bathrooms. They do have a nice location with beautiful mature trees. The kids did have fun (the only reason for 2 stars). The Bathrooms were gross. Looks like they are always that way. Showers didn't drain. They do have a newer shower house on the other side of the park but I never went in to that one. They do have the bones to be a great park and the staff was freindly. Paying nearly a $100 night to camp I feel it should be almost perfect. If I paid $30 a night it would have probably would have gotten 4 stars.

So we booked for a week at the end of April 2022. We did the booking online and paid for the "pick your site" $35 fee. We called the day of arrival to let them know we would be arriving after hours. I got a voice-mail recording after being directed through an automated setup for over 3 minutes. The voice-mail did not say it belonged to the park, it had a woman's name and said she was unavailable. Since all the automated referred to yogi, I left the message. I got a return call several hours later and was told where our info would be and that the bathhouses were under construction. We arrived to more than a campground with under construction bathhouses Our week was spent being woke up by either paving trucks or landscaping trucks or tree removal trucks between 630am and 830am. The basketball court had port-a-pots sitting on it, half the playground was tore up for them to make room for the bounce pillow, the whole putt-putt was destroyed and debris sitting where the putt-putt once was. The lots are not gravel, they are either grown over asphalt or torn up asphalt from the bobcats and tree removal equipment. The Gaga pit did not exist, no access to the pavilion as they were using it for storage. The laundry room was very dirty. Washers and dryers were not clean. One washer sat with green sheets or curtains in it the whole time we were there and the basin had the yogi bear banners sitting in it. I cleaned out 1 washer and 1 dryer and that is all I used while there for our clothes. The plans that SUN OUTDOORS have for this place are great BUT they should NEVER opened for the season while under MASSIVE CONSTRUCTION, especially at $93 a night. If you plan to visit, CALL THEM AND SEE WHEN THEY WILL ACTUALLY BE RUNNING FULL TILT AND WITHOUT ANY CONSTRUCTION!!!I will say that the staff is super friendly! Except for one woman in the office that keeps to her desk and just sort of glares as the other employees talk to the guests Maybe on a return visit after all the construction, we will be able to give this campground a 5 star rating.

I actually couldn't believe it; Yogi 's spot! He greets you upon your entrance. Very cool. This place is gigantic! I couldn't see as well as I wished I could have because it was pitch black. You ever wanted to film a scary movie with realistic creepiness; GO THERE! The first time, I dropped off my nephew, there was no one out. This passed week, It was full like the night clubs. There's a nice sitting area for family the further that you drive in & I was told it was a great restaurant, too. The roads were slim so just be careful driving especially in the dark. Overall it was pretty cool. It reminds me of the nice camp sites you see in the movies where the kids go kicking & screaming, but return home changed. Lol Maybe the next time I go, it will be in broad daylight & I can do a much better review.

We love the environment, very calmed, the personnel is very cordial and nice. They have a few activities available like mini-golf, some ceramics and crafts, board games, etc. If you look for a cool place to relax, this is a good option. However, the facilities need some major updates. The comfort station 1 is very uncomfortable to take a shower since there is nowhere to leave our belongings while showering and not a good place to change. The mini golf is falling apart and the second pool is out of service. Besides that, an great option to go camping with the family.

Pool heater is broken and has been for all of 2022 season and last season. Pool is closed more than open. Limited to no activities and amenities. Overpriced for what you received and the poor quality. Camped here for over 25 years. Every year they raise the prices and quality and amenities disappear. There is a 4 Star Yogi available in Amboy and a 3 star in Pittsfield Illinois. Make the drive and more memories worth saving. They offer no refunds or discounts for closed amenities or "misunderstood" advertising. Lots of broken promises and empty words here.

One of the main attractions is the pool, and my sister wanted to go. The first time it was fine, she wore her usual swim attire, a waterproof sports bra, some water shorts and a see through tank top. The second time this lady continued to argue with her very rudely saying it isnt appropriate, even after she took it off, the manager and her told her she can't go in with the sports bra. It is very upsetting because some kids do have self esteem issues and this was my sisters way of feeling comfortable. She was on the verge of tears. They didnt say anything to anyone else just my sister, and I think it was reminiscent of bullying. Terrible way of handling it.

We have stayed here several times over the past 4 years and they have been more than amazing!! activities all the time, as clean as can be with. we always have our special needs family with us and they make them feel so special. my 6 year old and my other family members cant wait to go back. the price is high, but they also put on a lot of good shows and do activities all the time. staff has always been respectful. pretty surprising because they are college kids and they are super respectful. I hope nothing has changed this year. we will find out soon!!

One of my favorite camp sites I loved spending family time here but 2 years now that have been disappointed.1.5 stars to be nice2 Pools were out of service and the one working was pretty dirty, seemed the filtration was not working. Kiddy pool should be open .....at least for smaller kids.Cabins were not as clean as I would have expected. I brought Clorox wipes and wiped the cabin, beds , fridge and bathroom on all 3 deluxe cabin we rented. One cabin had 100 flies that we did our best to get them out.. broken toilet bows. Better working appliances if they are included at least have them working. Stove did not turn on on 2 cabins and fridge was leaking water on one cabin.2 cabins had no hot water and had to use our bathroom, we complain but nothing was done.Yogi needs a better cleaning crew with Covid still around I would have expected better cleaning all around and better maintenance to the cabins. Sliding doors need to be fixed on 2 cabins and screens added for the flies.Bathroom showers in all 3 cabins needed extra cleaning, seemed they only got a wipe down. Cleaned and disinfected the showers, shower floor was pretty dirty.Cabins should have a working broom not just half of a broom. All cabins should have a broom, dustpan, and mop.Beds should be check and stains should at least be tried to be removed, previous campers left dusty footprint all over.Decks needed attention on all 3 cabins, all were pretty dirty one had a broken table and had trash left outside from previous camper.Note I used the cabin with the ramp and most my complains are on that one, this site being the better one and in better conditions. All around not the best experience this year.Staff I will say a 2.5..some were very nice. For over $2000 for all 3 cabins I felt it was too pricey for the quality of the cabins, will probably not be going back.

I loved spending time with family at this site and I love the size of the camp ground. There are a couple of reasons why I gave 3 stars:The first was because the pools were out of service on the 4th of July weekend. The second was because the cabins were not as clean as I would have expected. I brought Clorox wipes and with on swipe on the floor it was black and filthy. The third was because the bathroom showers had no hot water and could have been cleaned more frequently. For $425 from 7/2 through 7/5 I felt it was too pricey for the quality of the site.

The changes in ownership and staff has been such a welcome change. We have been going there for 10 years and we were really thinking of not going any longer, because of the lack of upkeep to the property. 2 years ago the 4, I gave would have been a 1, but the update to the campground is a welcome new start.Dan & the entire Yogi staff, hats off to all of you for dedication to making the Yogi campground the get away campers will enjoy bringing their families.Thank you!

This place is nice for camping with kids, especially when it's not too busy. We went on a weekend at the end of August when school is back in session so the weather was still nice but it wasn't too packed. Lots of fun activities for the kids and a large, friendly staff. We were in the tent camping area and since it wasn't too busy we could spread out a little, but the allotted areas are small and packed in tightly next to each other. If it were busy I'm sure it would be a less pleasant experience...depending on your neighbors, I guess.I wouldn't recommend it without kids. I was there as an uncle and it was fun, but otherwise I would choose somewhere else for camping. The Yogi Bear stuff was making us laugh because do these kids have any clue who Yogi Bear is? That was already an old cartoon when we were young in the 80s. But that didn't seem to matter; they enjoyed it. I didn't hear any reference to Yogi stealing picnic baskets... I guess you wouldn't want to give people any ideas.
