DO NOT GO HERE. Untrust worthy mechanics, THEY WILL SCAM YOU. Horrible customer service.They will charge for things your car does not need. I took it in for a problem I was having with my car. The first time, they said it was one thing and charged me for parts. The problem was not fixed, so I took it back. They said it was something else and charged me for different parts. They ordered the wrong parts and put the wrong parts on my car. Took it back a third time, and they got the correct part, but the problem still continued. Took it elsewhere for another opinion, and they stated it was an easy fix and that they shouldn't have charged me that much. What should have been about 250, they got me for a couple of grand. You got me this time, but lost a customer for life. From the people in the front to the mechanics, they don't know what they are doing or try to rip people off. They also won't tell you right away. They'll wait until you leave the car and agree to some work. They claimed I couldn't take the car out that it would cause further damage, and the warranty for what I had paid would be void.

I came in about 3 months ago to get a new set of tires. They did a vehicle inspection and told me that I needed to have tie rods replaced for an additional cost almost $600. I declined at the time because the car felt fine before I took the car in, and I had just spent $1000 on tires. They said if I didn't get it fixed it would affect the warranty on the tires because it would affect the way the tires would ware. I said I would have to come back.Just a couple of days I took my car in to a different mechanic for an unrelated issue. (The check ingine light was on). While I was there I ask for an estimate for the tie rods.I picked up the car the next day and ask about the estimate for the tie rods.Much to my surprise they told me the tie rods were fine and didn't need to be replaced. Unbelievable. These people over at Pep Boys are scamartist. Now I not sure if I have a warranty on the tires or not.STAY AWAY FROM PEP BOYS OF MELROSE PARK.If you're looking for a good Honest mechanic take your car to Bob's Auto on Lee St. In Desplaines

Don t come here in a pinch. I came for a flat tire repair . No one in sight. Sat there for 20 mins. I called from my cell phone no answer. No wonder they re closing these places down.

Terrible installation of tires, charged about 700 for all 4 tires during Black Friday. You would think that they can install a tire right but looks like the other negative reviews are right. Whoever can t install a tire shouldn t work there because I my tire flew off on the highway and almost crashed into a truck. Had to pay for a tow truck and when I tried to call them they decide to put you on hold until they close. I plead anyone who has more than half a brain to rethink your decision coming here.Service: Tires

My mom recommended me this place to get tires the price good but the service suck. I was told from 12:30pm to 1:30 my car be ready. I order 4 tires it should not take that long get it done specially they not even that busy. I told the guy I have to get my baby from school before 2pm so he said it should be ready by 1:30 and it never did. I ask 1:45 is my car ready? he didn t even say anything how long I have to wait more. I waited patiently and upset already. cause I have to call my sister to pick up the baby. she has to walk to pick the baby because this people taking there time. I mean seriously they are done 2:45 from 12:30 just to change 4tires and they not even busy. I see them on there phone, gossiping and no one watching the front too for customer service. There was old couple too. I felt so bad for them they ve been waiting since 11am they told me. They are tired and hungry and they are still waiting when I walk out.

Went in for new tires and an alignment. Had an 8am appointment was told it would take about 2 hours. Left and came back an hour and a half later and they were just starting on my car. I didn't realize walk ins have priority over appointments so it's pointless to set up appointments here. It ended up taking 5 hours for new tires and an alignment. Had I known it was going to take this long I would have left the car instead of waiting. Express service is a lie and just a waste of time. Next time definitely going somewhere else.

Great customer service! I have been here a couple time and will keep coming back. You can tell the shop has turned around with some key team members here. Worked with Isaiah and he seems to go above and beyond explaining issues, and make recommendations.

If a tech ever tells you to just come back to get a re work for a job that was not done well . get a receipt with that wrighten down or the new staff wont honor it .

Great service and prices. Technician was very friendly and offered great service. I was offered a Lyft to drop and pick me up once the vehicle was serviced. Will recommend this location to anyone. Only downside to my visit was watching these techs work and engage customer in a facility that has no air conditioning or one that needed repair. Not the best conditions for them or the anyone having to wait.

2600 W North Avenue Melrose Park Il location was amazing. I had an appointment at a different location, but when I got there they weren't open, even though it was 930 and they should have been open at 8. I waited 25 minutes then called Adam at the North Avenue location. He not only apologized for the other location not being open but said to come right over and they would do the work I needed done. This kind of customer service is hard to come by these days, but Adam made sure everything was completed correctly and timely. Best experience. I would recommend them for sure.

I went here to get tires installed on some SSR Type C wheels. The guy that installed it was very friendly. He also told me that I had a bad valve so I had him replace all of them since they were becoming corroded. He saved me time and money in the long run.

Disappointing terrible experience . I had a preset 8 AM Saturday morning appointment for an oil change and back brakes. I called in at noon to check the status and was told my vehicle would be ready in two hours. I arrived at 2 o clock, and found out that my vehicle had never been touched or worked on at all. This is TERRIBLE customer service: a simple courtesy call would have went a long way.

I went to an appointment for 9am today. When I got there, I was awaiting till 9:30am when the techs found out manager called off. Placed was closed so I had a busy day ahead. So I went to a different Pepboys. Hopefully someone would have communicated with us if a manager calls off and would not have the place open on time.(I am not a happy camper)

Called in earlier today for trans flush and oil change, clearly asked for pricing and the guy told me that it will be 260-280$ for both. Went there as per my appointment and a guy came up with $450 total. I asked why??? He said he has to add labor and all. Are you kidding me??? So basically you gave me a price without labor on the phone!!!! It's called false advertising and mis information which is definitely not good for a business.

Went in a few months back to replace my front tires because they were worn from the previous owner. I bought some tires from here and put them under a warranty, so that if anything were to happen to them they'd be covered. The other day I recieved some damage to one of my front tires to the point where it needed to be replaced. I took my car in expecting no issue and maybe at most pay them for their labor. Well, according to the mechanic I spoke to, the only tires under warranty were my rear tires and if I needed the damaged tire replaced, I would need to pay full price. That would mean that they rotated the tires without me asking them to and because of that, the warranty was useless during the one time I would actually need it. I felt pretty scammed to be honest. I ended up going to Leyden Tires to get my tire replaced for about half the price that Pep-boys would've charged me.

The staff was so polite, prompt and helpful in providing the service for my own and my husband cars. Saturday mornings are definitely the best time at this Pep Boys location no wait necessary!!

They charged me almost 500 to replace a camshaft selenoid and 2 months later same issue appeared, went back for the warranty and they said that its another issue related to the time belt but I took it to a well rated and experienced auto shop and they showed me the error code and its the same selenoid issue, in other word pep boys did not do anything charged me and then washed their hands saying it was the timing belt and they could not check that there. Avoid getting ripped off!!! These shops only do basic oil changes and tires they're a rip off at this office

The service was okay but I have one concern. Pep boys have always changed the oil on my Acura MDX but through the years their mechanic did not put the oil drain pan bolt on correctly. Therefore the oli pan threads are slightly stripped. At some point the oil pan needs to be replaced. But pep boys want me to pay for the repair. Since it was pep boys mechanic who caused the problem they should be responsible for paying for the repair.

I went in for an oil change at 230 and got out around 7pm. My seat on driver side was broken. I told the manager before I pulled off that my seat wasn't working properly. So the manager took my car to the back to tell me to file a complaint because his associate told him the seat was working fine.The manager was rude.

Although they close at 7pm. I went in at 5:40pm and they refused to replace my tire saying it s too late and they don t fix flats at this time I had to specify multiple times that I don t have a flat tire, I need a new tire and I already have it unmounted from the vehicle and in the shop. The worker walks to the backroom visually bothered and analyzes the tire and asks one of the shop techs if he wants to do it saying it s up to you what kind of business has their employees saying that to their coworkers especially in front of the customer. Trash service.Eventually they decided to change the tire and it was done in 10 minutes. I don t understand how this place says they close at 7 yet they won t do a 10 minute job after 5:30pm.Apart from all this, I will say that the shop tech who actually changed the tire (Ramon) was really respectful and polite and im grateful that through this unfortunate experience, at least he was nice. That guy deserves a raise while the front cashier guys need to be retrained. Coming from a business owner myself, that was extremely unprofessional and not how you run a businessService: Tires
