Very good place to go if you re looking to ACTUALLY get your car fixed.. went here for a splash shield replacement and an oil change everything all together costed under 100$.. they diagnosed and looked over my car with me for free. Informed me of any incoming issues to be vigilant about and also gave me advice on how to keep a car with burning oil issues running for a long time.. you pay a tiny extra but it s well worth it in return you get a trustworthy shop, good people who are honest and don t play you for extra money(extremely hard to find honest people in this world even more so in the auto business.) would give it a 10 star review if I could. Larry was also great and friendly too. Thank you again for your help and I look forward to our next service.update!: I got a new used car and thought it would be a great deal.. these guys legit just saved me thousands of dollars by pointing out huge things that the dealership lied about mainly being huge suspension issues before my warranty ran out... I cannot thank them enough this place is my number one choice in mechanics. 5 stars just doesn t even do enough of a justice. I Would give it a 10. Thanks again

I have been going to Northtown since childhood! My parents took us there as kids to wait on our car getting serviced. Then In my teenage years I carried on the tradition of taking my own car there. And today, I brought my daughter with me. They have a fun setup for kids while waiting for your car to be serviced and friendly staff as well! Steve & Larry are always welcoming, and very good at explaining car inspections & service recommendations. I love supporting local businesses, and it has been a joy working with them for all these years.

I needed a oil pan replacement and these guys did a great job. I Scheduled with Steve he was extremely polite and knowledgeable of my issues. Steve stayed in contact during my work being done also contacted me first to let me know the job was gonna be a little longer and was gonna effect my price. The Communication is great the type of service you want. I will be back to have things done and I Recommend this place big time.

My car was making terrible noise from rear passenger side. Had just had brakes and calipers done here recently so was worried and had it towed there. They were able to look at it next day which was awesome because I needed my car for work. Thankfully it turned out to just be some corrosion on rotors and they sanded out for me and car has been running great since! I also love that they have a drop off system because I work long hours at the hospital so can never get in to most places during regular business hours. They were great to deal with and keep my older car running !

We have been using the Northtown Auto Service and Tire Center for several years for both personal and company vehicles. Great service, good communication, affordable prices. We've never had any problems and always receive top notch service. Their team always accepts our last minute requests for any services we need. My husband took my car in for an oil change and to diagnose some noises we were feeling while driving. Larry and Michael took great care in keeping us up to date with a very in-depth digital report with pictures and descriptions of everything that was going on. Not only was the process easy, we were blown away from the level of customer service we received! The online payment portal was great and easy to navigate, and with our work schedules picking our car up before they were done for the day on Friday would have been difficult to swing but they had an convenient lock box pick up so we could pick the car up Saturday morning! Northtown Auto in McHenry has always given me the best of service for all my vehicles throughout the years. They are very honest and care about the quality of their service work. From the very first phone call to the pick up of my vehicle after services were complete the staff, service and cost were top notch! I was referred to them through my job, which sends their entire work fleet to Northtown. There is a reason our company fleet is maintained by Northtown and now, anything my husband or son don t have the time or means to do Northtown is the ONLY place I will go! My go-to tire shop! I am astounded by the level of detail taken with every inspection, too. The tech takes pictures of each action item, provides justification for it, and sends it all in a text message for you to review. The quality of work performed by Northtown is already top-notch, but this level of engagement, transparency and embracement of technology puts them well ahead of the curve and into the next turn!

First time patron here. The service wasn t good it was great! Haha gotcha there for a sec Mark. Communication was top notch, friendliness is top notch, repairs top notch. They went above and beyond to accommodate me. I honestly felt like i was their only customer. Super honest and fair. Thank you Mark, Steve, Larry, and the entire team! Stopped in with RV to get air checked in tires as one looked low. We were told one of the screws on hubcap was stripped so we would need to schedule a day to drop off RV so they could drill through screw to remove hubcap to get to air nozzle.Left there, went across town to another business where hubcap was easily removed, all tires were easily checked, all in 15 min. No problem with screws at all and free of cost.Gave 2 stars because of friendliness but 0 for competency. Our family usually gets great service from Northtown, but this gouging was a game changer.

Very impressed with Northtown Auto. Everyone I have spoken to has been kind and helpful. It is obvious that they truly care about their customers and ensuring that vehicles are well taken care of and safe to drive.I greatly appreciate the full report of my vehicle with pictures to show the issues with my car. The team is helpful in explaining what the priorities of the issues found should be. I also appreciate being educated on my vehicle in a way that does not make me feel stupid for not knowing.I have so many great things to say about this company but the main point is that I will continue to take my vehicles here and am grateful to have found this place!

This is the first place you should send your car! I've been to four different mechanics( including the dealership), but my Denali was still shifting hard into 2nd gear frequently. Carlos was very knowledgeable and thorough. He found the problem on the trans harness and finally fixed my Denali's hard shift. If I would have gone here first I would have saved thousands of dollars and have had less headaches! A++++ for service, A++++ for communication, A++++ for value. He even went the extra miles and showed me what he did ( and the bad harness he replaced). I would recommend to this shop to anybody!

I have been coming here for about 5 years now and appreciate what they do. I have had several car s repaired here and never have had an issue. They alway inform you before they do any work. They provide photos and give opinions. The best thing I guess is the commutation, I am never wondering what s going on or when are they going to call. They are competitive with their pricing. I do recommend them for repair and tire replacement.

This place has the best staff I've worked with in a very long time. Mainly worked with Steve who went above and beyond to make sire my car was running right and that any worries I had were taken care of. The mechanics even got involved above the normal just with being excited about the car I brought in. Any time I've come in they all asked me how I was doing and for updates with the car. Also had to deal with a claim from another auto company who destroyed my suspension and they got it back to me in less than a week with a new suspension, new tires, and 2 alignment to assure it was perfect. I have worked with Northtown a few times now for my SUV. My vehicle was strictly serviced by the dealer prior to this. It was under a very long warranty and I would only have the dealer do oil changes, etc. I was worried when my warranty was up and knew I did not want to keep going to the dealer but I had to find a reputable shop that was fair on pricing. Many of my neighbors recommended Northtown and a quick google search calmed my fears immediately. Even from the first interaction they made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I have seen them multiple times and pricing is always fair, work is fast and they communicate with me the whole way through. They even went as far once as to tell me that they recommended I take it to the dealer for a specialized service because the dealer had the knowledge for a very specific safety feature on my vehicle and Northtown did not feel I would spend my money wisely if I had them do it because they might use more labor than the dealer. That was when I was sold on them and decided to always bring my SUV to them. I have also recommended anyone that asks to go to them also. I have a job where I work long hours and they have a convenient after hours drop off and pickup where they will give me a lockbox code and I can go grab my car when I am done with meetings or work. I appreciate that feature more than anything. They are always flexible with payment and make it easy and convenient to pay before picking up. I always know what work was done, I get a full report of service with photos and ratings for everything they checked. Their lobby and waiting room is comfortable and inviting and the location of the shop is convenient with plenty of parking. I have had about 4 services done with them in the past year and I could not find one thing to even offer as constructive criticism. Yet again had a great experience here. Brought our car in last minute. (Needed to get it fixed for an emissions test which it now passed). I was told it would likely take a few days to a week to get the parts in and get it fixed.We got the car back the very next day! Thanks to Cory for diagnosing what needed to be done. & for Carlos & Rob for working hard on the car & getting it done quickly. We are very pleased with the job we had done. Thanks again!

I was going to get my car towed closer to home but friends & family *insisted* I go to Northtown. Now I'm really glad I did! What could have been a total headache turned out to be a relatively easy fix. Great mechanics, excellent service, full diagnostic report, efficient repair, fair & upfront pricing, & great customer service too! I'll go out of my way to go back to them! Thanks Steve!

Obviously no one enjoys HAVING to spend money, but I will say that the money spent here was well worth it. Larry was the representative I worked with, and have on numerous other occasions. His communication and foresight is beyond helpful. The quality of work exceeds expectations. I will forever utilize this shop as a home for my vehicles to be nurtured to stay on the road. My car was a hot mess. Check engine light on, kept dying out, idled rough, and had busted motor mount with bolts busted off in the engine. Northtown Auto did a great job taking care of all these issues! Air filter cover had stripped screws and wouldn't close. They fixed that too! My car has approximately 130K mi and now runs better than ever. Smooth acceleration, great compression! Pricing was very fair and in line with my expectations. Did not suffer sticker shock at all when getting the bill. Definitely a trustworthy place for auto maintenance!Service: Auto maintenance

I discovered a large oil leak on my SUV and had to leave town the next day. I called Northtown at 5:30 p.m. and spoke to Steve about my situation/time crunch. He was able to fit me in the next day!Northtown diagnosed the problem, retro-fitted an oil ring/gasket (part was no longer in production) and had me on my way that afternoon!They did a great job and the price was right.Steve was professional, courteous, and went into great detail on not just the oil leak, but the overall health of my SUV (he texted me pics of other potential issues etc.).This service shop is way above all other shops I have dealt with over the past 30 years.
