I cannot speak more highly of Lakemoor Transmissions & Auto Repair and their owner, Chris! They are amazing! I began my search on Google, of course, and found that Lakemoor Transmissions had rave reviews. I read a few and found that Chris appeared to be a hands-on, no nonsense, customer service-oriented guy. After feeling quite confident with who I'd be working with, I made a call to book the appointment. From the very first phone call, Chris was extremely professional, helpful, and sympathetic to the issues I was facing with my current transmission (Cummins 48RE problems that I wanted to get diagnosed by a professional). He agreed to look at it for me as well as install some components I had ordered online. Within a single business day he called me to explain my situation, what options I had, and even offer a little advice after checking over my transmission. I am so grateful to have been able to work with Chris on my truck to forge a path forward that keeps my rig on the road. He was able to complete the work and even do a few extra things to ensure my transmission was safe to drive, things that I didn't even think to ask about! I will recommend Chris, his shop, and his team every chance I can get! He is the REAL deal! He is one of the last remaining breeds of small business owners who genuinely want to help their customers. I brought my car to Chris/Lakemoore Transmission 2.5 years ago. He replaced my transmission and all has been going wonderful. I recently brought it back to Chris to check something with my exhaust. I highly recommend this business! I needed a full brake job. I called in the morning and they got me in immediately! They worked fast and efficiently and made my car safe again within a matter of a few hours. They even offered me a ride home while I waited for my car to be worked on. Chris explained everything to me very kindly and thoroughly while sticking to the point. I will definitely be back next time my car needs something.

Best place you could go to get work done on your car! The guys who work here are hard working, dedicated, and nothing but honest when it comes to solving the problem, and when the problem is solved your car runs better then when you bought it!!! And nothing is too out of pocket, price wise! Big thanks to Chris & his team for bringing the best service you can find!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!! Super sweet and nice. Anytime my husband and have a car engine light come on and if we hear a sound, we take our car in here. Each time they explain they problem and always call before doing anything! They are so great they even do a free inspection. Most places at least charge $50.00 just to diagnose your car. These guys are amazing, skilled, kind, and fast! I have little children and they offered to ride back to my house and then take my van back to the shop so we didn't have to wait there. They did my back brakes and rotors along with an oil change in less than 3 hours for much less money than everyone else I called. From the first phone call, through the work and ride home, they were so kind and professional. I highly recommend them to anyone who needs great work at an even better price.Service: Brakes

I (36 f) will absolutely be bringing my vehicles back here. My husband brought my van in for a suspected transmission leak. When they called to tell me what the problem was (a hose was not properly attached and was dripping antifreeze) , no one pressured me to purchase any unnecessary expensive parts. Instead, the hose already on my van was put back in its correct position, and the leak was resolved. I can not emphasize how awesome it was to not be treated like I m an idiot. Thank you and we will be utilizing your shop for our future needs.

Chris and Luke are great people. Hard to find good honest mechanics. These guys won't steer you wrong. Have used them for all my major work needing to be done in multiple vehicles for the past 15 years and they never have disappointed. their quality of service and pricing is worth it compared to the other rip off artists out there. They are straight shooters and tell you the honest options you have, can do it cheap or can fix it the right way. I always opt to fix it the right way and they haven't let me down yet. Took my car here to have the rear shocks replaced. They were quick with getting the job done. They were honest about pricing and which shocks to put on the vehicle. The cost of the job wasn't high. Only place I now trust to bring my Yukon. Brought my 2010 yukon to 10 places all told me I need to buy a new transmission. This was the only place that told me to try something before replacing. And it worked. No more hard shifting or shift jumps on the highway. Just needed V4 disabled. $125 dollar part instead of $5500 for a new transmission. I will now be using this shop for all my maintenance and repairs. 110% will refer to anyone. This is a place that seems to care more about giving customers a fair deal than making big profits. We came in thinking we'd be spending a bundle on a transmission, but after the owner had a chance to look at our SUV, drive it to see exactly what it was doing, and check codes that weren't even triggering the check engine light yet, he suggested that we replace some sensors that could be causing the issues. And since it's an easy process, he said my husband should just do it himself. No charge for the time he spent diagnosing the problem. We've been looking for a good mechanic for a while. We'll definitely be bringing our cars here from now on!

Chris was a great help with the understanding of what was wrong and needed to be fixed on my car. I appreciated his honesty. Luke was also very efficient on finishing the work and getting my car back to me. For that I'll definitely be taking my car back to their shop whenever an issue comes up again.

Where do I begin to tell you how AMAZING Lakemoor Transmissions is. We were in a bind with one of our fleet trucks and could not find a shop that could fix it in a timely manner. Chris got us in right away and had our truck back to us in no time.We have an extended warranty on the truck and Chris went above and beyond to assist us in dealing with the warranty company. He kept us in the loop with each time he contacted the warranty company.Chris does impeccable work!!!! Honest, Quality Work at an affordable price! Can't ask for more when it comes to your vehicle. Chris and his son are awesome. I brought my car in due to an oil leak. I live very close to the shop and each time I brought it in, the son drove me home. They are very friendly and knowledgeable and their prices are fair. I will definitely bring my car back to them in the future for any repairs. Chris was very knowledgeable, and gave me great options for my transmission repair on my Expedition. They gave me a very fair price, got the work done it a timely manner, and were extremely enjoyable to work with. I highly recommend them for any mechanical work you may need. It's nice to have a small local business that give you a family like atmosphere in a sometimes shady business industry. Thank you Lakemoor Transmission for doing great work and getting our family truck up in running for our vacation!

Chris is the really deal, very knowledgeable and fast. I HIGHLY recommend Lakemoor Transmissions for your transmission work. I took my SUV to the Buick dealership and they wanted $135.00 just to diagnose the issue. After sitting in the dealership for 2.5hr and they had not even looked at my vehicle. I took my SUV and left. My transmission was making a loud band and jerking when it shifted. I went home and started looking on the internet. I found Chris's shop and the reviews were great. so I took a chance. My transmission is working great it took two days. He knew I need my SUV so he worked until 3am and stayed late the next day for me to be able to pick it up. Customer are valuable to Chris and he takes pride in his work. GREAT JOB CHRIS!!!!

I first used this shop a year ago or so for my 2012 Subaru WRX for some transmission work and was more than impressed with how fast I got the car back and the pricing for parts & labor. I returned last week with a ACT clutch kit for Chris & Luke to install on my 2010 Subaru WRX and was just as happy as I was last time! They are true car guys who appreciate anything that comes rolling through the doors! Their service is quick and thorough, while maintaining professionalism( they went above and beyond what they had to!) Dropped my car in the morning had it the next night! I ll be returning here with all of my vehicles! I think I found my new shop!

Chris the owner is a very skilled and definitely a master trans mechanic . 2000 expedition 5.4 4x4 trans rebuilt . Called 4 other shops checked the Google reviews prices were at the high end of the price range. I paid 20% less here and my truck is back to life . Ask him to quote a cash price and definitely a substantial price saving without compromising quality

Never disappointed when I go here. Normally I like working on my own car but there are times I don't have the time or the tools needed for the job and Chris and his crew are always there. Great attitude, service, and always respectful. Chris explains the work and parts needed without you having to get a lawyer to translate what is being said. Went back to get my brakes done, after needing a new alternator in the fall of last year. I needed the whole 9 yards, brakes, pads, rotors, it all. Super professional, kept me updated on costs and timing. Very affordable pricing. Got my car back within 2 days! Brought my 2007 Mazda Speed 3 here a few months ago to replace my clutch, flywheel and bearings. They did a great job and Chris the owner is a good honest straight forward guy. He replaced a leaking transmission seal free of charge since it may have been caused by them taking it apart. Also replaced my worn front lower control arms at a minimal labor charge since everything was apart already. Everything's still working great a few months later and over 200,000 miles now!

Bring your vehicle here!!!!!! I brought my car in to this shop and i was greeted by Chris. he was kind and quick to help me. He put my worries to ease by offering to help in anyway possible to get my vehicle back to how it should be. He went above and beyond with service and kindness . I wish there were more honest affordable shops out there. This is one of a kind!!

I took my truck to lakemoor transmissions for an issue i thought was my transmission. The issue ended up not being my transmission, but a my driveshaft being out of balance. He also did a full inspection on my truck to make sure everything else was safe to drive down the road. He ended up finding one of my leaf spring shackles were broken and the truck had a slight misfire. He made sure the truck was running awesome. Chris is very up front, honest, and does great work!

I had noticed what had appeared to be a transmission issue with my 6.0l diesel Ford f250, I had asked a few friends what shop could do diesel transmission repair, and was directed to Lakemoor transmissions. The owner Chris took my diesel in the same day, then later that day had a diagnosis for me. The diagnosis ended up being for a fuel injector, Chris also noticed a crack in the turbo housing, he gave me a price on everything, and explained the issues thoroughly, sent pictures to my cell phone, and told me to think it over, I called around for some other prices and Chris had beat all the other shops on price. I left my diesel to Chris for the week and by Friday I had my truck back and it was running better than ever! Chris explained thoroughly and honestly everything that was done to the truck, some things that should be done and what could wait. And since that back in 2012, I've been back for any and all repairs needed, Chris did his best to bundle the repairs when I also needed upper and lower ball joints, and also showed me that I was worn almost metal on metal with barely any lining left on my brake pads. He then explained that the brakes, rotor, and wheel bearing assembly were going to be removed to do the ball joint, and asked if I wanted to replace those as well, with no additional labor cost, only the additional cost of parts would be added. Absolutely anything you could possibly need for your vehicle, whether it's gas or diesel, Chris and Lakemoor transmissions will get the job done right, and at a fair price.

From our Mercedes to diesel truck, Chris can work on it all. Chris is the only mechanic I trust working on my stuff, always very straight forward and a quick turn around. I know when I bring it to Chris it will be done right. Been going to him for 5+ years, and never once had an issue. Lakemoor Transmissions is the only place that will get my business.
