The best tire shop around goes above and Beyond to have the best service done very reasonable pricing very nice People.. Quality tires I wish more businesses can be like this business. Honest fair price, I'm just great people...highly recommend

Have always had a great experience with these guys, I was sad when I saw they weren't at the old location in island lake but was able to get in and get some tires mounted today when everyone else told me they couldn't do it. Appreciate the candor and the great prices. Keep up the great work guys!

The best good around!! James was very helpful in explaining the options to me about my tires, I felt very comfortable c choosing them, I had a time sensitive schedule and they got right to work and got me in and out in no time and replaced 4 tires!! I was recommended to them and I will definitely recommend them to everyone!! Great prices and IMPECCABLE service!!

Call them on Saturday, July 18th, 2022 & spoke with Ray. Described my tire issue & and Ray kindly answered all my questions. Brought in my 2015 Odyssey a few hours later for repair. $35 to repair the tire with a patch Deflate the tire, De-rim the tire, clean(scuff) both sides of the tire bead, locate and scuff/heat the patch area, patch the tire, roll the area, clean both sides of the rim, apply bead sealer to both sides, re-mount the tire, balance it, & check for leaks. Thorough job. The shop is nothing to look at, but the guys worked hard, know their craft, and respect their customers. Would go back again.

American Tire got pushed out of their home in Island Lake after 16 years and now are out in Unincorporated McHenry south of Lakemoor. Have been using him all these years for personal and business. James and his guys are great and they care.

I was a very happy customer and will recommend to all my friends and family.When they put the new rim on my car they spent the time to even clean up my car cap that was originally scratch up and now looks like new. Wonderful service overall and I am happy I went to them to help me over anyone else!

The owner is very nice, these guys are the best for tires , satisfied every time, the best prices all around for used tires or new been taking all my cars here for years. Can t compare to any other tire shops

These guys are the best and you will not find a better deal anywhere! I have been getting my tires from these guys for years, and they will do whatever it takes for their customers. I had a blowout on my way to work with no spare tire and made it to a gas station, called American Tire and they went to where my car was and took care of everything for an extremely low price! Once you deal with these guys, you will never go elsewhere for your tires!

I had a small nail in my tire- it was on the border of being too far over. He suggested I consider getting it replaced- IF the plug didn't hold. Quoted me a price on the tire- ON SALE, just so I would know what the cost to replace it would be should I want to in the future.I saw some of the other reviews before I went- but I figured, what's the worst he can do? Sell me a tire...?The plug was $10. It was done in 5 min, he was very nice and polite, and I would go back again.

Went to get tires. Employee snapped off the low pressure sensor band inside the wheel well (while I was watching) and then proceeded to say it was already broken. 1. It would've shredded the tire on the drive over. 2. I saw how he put the crow bar in to split the seal. And 3. The sensor was unharmed and fully functioning before then. Also, afterwards he said they would fix it for an installation fee of $50 but I had to supply the band. I took it to the dealership the next day and it was replaced for $15 (wholesale cost of band). "Good service isn't cheap, and cheap service isn't good."

Guys took for ever to do 2 tires that i dropped off. Got there 3 hrs later to find the still havent touched them. Did the first one and had 2 new chips in my wheel that they denied doing.. after that they started doing someone elses while i was watching them... basically a big f u to mee. If u have a decent set of wheels DONT BRING THEM HERE! And on top of this they wouldn't discount the price for damaging my wheel will never come here again!

We called ahead and we're promised quick service. Service was then extremely slow, and they put the tires on our car BACKWARDS. Probably because the man doing the work was definitely high on drugs. My husband had to show up to rebalance just to make it driveable so we could leave this pit. DO NOT GO HERE.

Told me one piece in the beginning, half way installed my tires then told me it would be a different price then at the end, the kid changed $75 more after the dad told me it would be only $25 more! Very dishonest people

Have mixed feelings. Had a little tractor tire that ended up costing me more than a conventional tire. OK, so the tire had been on the rim for a long time and was hard to get off. That I get., but what upset me the most was the fact that they did not do what they said they were going to do. Have the tire done on a certain date. Had to go back multiple times only to find that the tires were not ready. To the owner, if you need a week to do a job, tell the customer that., do not say it will be ready the next day and not have it ready.

The worst management possible! I feel truly sorry for the kids who work here! I called today to get winter tires for more car because my truck crapped out and there is suppose to be snow tomorrow. I called around for who could do tires today. The kid at American tire called his boss who ordered me tires from "the warehouse." I paid for the tires in full and was told they would be there in an hour or so. I then get a call that they won't be in until Monday. So mistakes happen, so I asked for a refund so I could go somewhere else and get the tires today. But this poor kid then has to call his boss who tells him that there are no refunds and that he has to deal with it and the kid tells me the money is coming out of his pocket. I'm not taking money from this kid, it's the owner's job to rectify the situation. I paid for two winter tires to be put on my car TODAY, not MONDAY. Meanwhile I can't get the owner's phone number and I can't get him to call me back. So long story short the owner of American Tire in Island Lake is a cheapskate who doesn't stand behind his own business in my opinion. Never ever again.

I had a horrible experience.... sat and waited for hours for them to put on completely different tires that were agreed to be put on..So now my tire pressure is different from the front that messes with the sensors...NOT ONLY THAT...THE WORST PART IS MY PHONE WIRES WERE STOLEN OUT OF MY VECHILE TO CHARGE MY PHONE!!!!!! HOW LOW AND PATHETIC..... and when confronted they made it seem like we were the problem and denied any theft.....I just had my phone on the charger when I pulled up....smh..... hmmm....Better Buisness Bureau....... I think yes!!!!

i took my 1989 Chevy pickup in for used tires and James and american tire have the best used tires i have ever bought even when i was a teenager with my old junk cars years ago the used tires i used to get dont evencompare to american tires used tiresyou get really decent tires and they have quite a lot of tread left the service is also quick and youdont even need an appointment i will definitely use his shop again i have to older pickup trucks and his tires are perfect for what i need i recommend american tire to family and friends thank you James sincerely Rick Stevens from Lake ZURICH

Worst place!! They sold me a dangerous and illegal tire with a rope plug in it on the side wall. Owner told me they never did and will not give me money back. Very cocky owner and will lie to you!! Stay away!!
