Went in for my second oil change from them. Just like last time, I found the friendliest and most helpful bunch of guys I've ever encountered at an auto repair shop! They have good honest prices and do great work! I was prepared to have to wait at least 30 min or so, as there were at least two ahead of me, but it was Maybe 15 min, if that...As long as they're around, I won't take my vehicles anywhere else.

Having known the owner for many years, and been considered a sister, as well as being a proud member of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, I feel it is truly disheartening that such false narratives could be placed on this man in attempts to destroy his business...all for the sake of simply a person not getting their way, and not being allowed for their entitlement to be placed above other waiting clients.

We were about 4 hours from our destination when our van broke down. We were able to make it to USave. They took our van in on the spot so that we could be on our way. The gave us a price and when we went to pay it was actually $100 cheaper than they had said because they ended up not having to replace one part they thought they'd have to. We really appreciated their honesty and their willingness to fix our van without an appointment.Services: Steering & suspension replacement, Wiper blade installation

Took my PT cruiser here on Monday. The gentleman at the front desk was very nice. A mechanic came out and inspected the car and test drove it confirming it sounded like a bad wheel bearing. It was late in the day when I brought it in so they worked on it the next day and had me taken care of. I appreciate the up front price before I left the car with them. And that they did not upsell me stuff. Got me back on the road fast. I thought it was impossible to find a trustworthy mechanic in Mattoon. But I stand corrected. Highly recommend this place. My car is buttery smooth now. Thanks U save Auto!

We showed up 2 hours before our appointment and they took my SUV right in and did the oil change. Very polite and did the job efficiently. No complaints with service and can't beat the price. Business is always neat and clean. I highly recommend them. We have been taking our autos there for over a year. Wouldn't trust anyone else like I do them.

Had an Alternator installed - the alternator went out (under warranty) - This Business insist upon having the WHOLE vehicle (which is in Champaign - Urbana 50 miles away) in order to stand behind a bad part!! WHO pays for the $250 TOW???

My daughter stopped in U SAVE to ask for someone to check her tire that seemed low to her. She asked the guy behind the counter to check if they were"flat".As a young woman that isn't familiar with vehicles and her terminology may not be the best, she explained to the guy that the car had issues with steering and the car was handling different so she was concerned about the tires.The guy at the desk went out, walked around the car looking at the tires and told her they looked ok but she would need tires soon.My daughter then stopped by our house to see if I could check them because she felt that they could have at least checked the air pressure in the tire. Although she may not be very mechanical or vehicle savvy, she had enough sense to know that the pressure should have been checked.When I looked at the tires, I immediately knew which tire was low. It was 10 pounds low on air and the other 3 tires were 5 to 7 pounds low.In my 54 years, I have never known anyone that can just look at a tire and be able to know what the psi of a tire was.My only conclusion is that the guy either doesn't know how to use an air pressure gauge or was too lazy to check it.I then called this business to ask why this was not done and the guy's response was "She just asked me if they were flat and I told her no, they aren't flat, but the tires were worn and she would need tires soon and she would have to come in to see me about some""Tires do have a tendency to wear prematurely when the proper psi is not maintained.I suppose by not checking the psi, the tires would wear out quicker and need replaced sooner. That's a pretty poor business model if that was why the basic courtesy of checking the tires psi with a gauge was not done.The excuse that was given to me was pathetic and weak.I did go off on him on the phone because I felt my daughter went there for help, asking about her tires and telling him the car wasn't handling right. When she was told that they were ok just by him looking at the tires, I felt it was dismissive, unprofessional, and dangerous.I became really upset when he is giving me excuses for why he didn't gauge the tires when I've got grandkids that ride in that car. As a father and grandfather I took the lack of customer service for my daughter personal.I did use faul language and I do regret that. I meant what I said to him but regret how I said it. When I feel my family isn't treated right, I respond in a very unpolitically incorrect way.My daughter says she now has to find another place to service her car after I called them. She's a bit bummed out for that because she said the actual mechanics there are good.I assured her that there are other shops that are capable and willing to go the extra mile to keep customers happy.Services: Vehicle Inspection, Oil change

Wonderful people and service. Randy is one of my favorite people ever. He is a great mechanic and is willing to educate you on your vehicular issues. He also provides sound advice when discussing your vehicle and maintenance. If theres one place I trust to not rip me off its U Save. I enjoy all the staff and they even have a beautiful loving shop dog who brightens your day with every encounter. Trust in U Save.

Great service, friendly staff! Very accommodating in getting our just purchased car in for repairs and making sure it was safe! Reasonably priced - they gave us an estimate and that's what they charged, and the work was done in a timely manner. Very satisfied customer! Thanks!

I really like these guys! These guys Mainly just do my maintenance and upkeep because my Toyota is still in pretty good shape! They are friendly and efficient and super fair priced!!! And don't forgot the beautiful Pittie girl that helps out at the counter!!! I'd go there just to pet her!!! $26 oil change and a sweet puppy, I'm sold!!!

Do not trust this establishment. Contact me for further information. It is my opinion, and the opinion of a very reputable mechanic in the area that the employees sabotage my car trying to get more money. After filing a Better Business Bureau complaint I was informed they have been accused multiple times of doing the same exact thing they claimed was wrong with my car. They claimed they change the water pump, after the new mechanic fixed it stated they had never even replaced anything.

This place right here went above and beyond they call of duty. We was truly blessed to have stonble on this place of business we had a spare tire that gave out and no rim to put a tire on. Every where we went or called couldn't help us, until I prayed that we would get help and walked in.. I don't know if the Man at the front desk was the owner or what but he made sure we left with a tire so much so One of the employees gave us his rim and only charged about a hundred dollars.God bless them men at that shop.

Great service!Went in with a flat, left 30 minutes later with a repaired tire.Super easy, no hassle, not expensive at all.Bonus: had a super sweet dog that greeted us and requested pets.

The staff At U save auto &tire we re extremely friendly and very knowledgeable I was getting ready to fish a bass Tournament and I had a problem with my tire on the trailer they got me right in and fixed the problem I would recommend U Save auto and tire for your tire and automotive needs

Took my van in to have cylinder 5 problem fixed and they put new spark plug wires on and told me the person who put plugs in put cylinder 3 and 5 wires on backwards. My mom was there and they put them on backwards and when he started it made horrible knocking sound. I was told they inspected the motor to ensure there was not any more problems and me when I got it back the battery light was on. We drove it and started to smell rotten egg smell and after inspecting the new battery had acid boil from unusual power surge and blew 3 fuses and both headlights. This happened immediately after I got it back and was not a problem before. I got replacement battery and had alternator tested which is also new which tested fine. They were not honest about the fact that they put wires 3 and 5 on backwards and I know the other person who put spark plugs on didn't because the can would have made the same knocking sound and not run. I have lost all trust in them as I spent my Sunday morning cleaning up their mess and getting new battery and replacing both headlights and 3 fuses. If I found one honest mechanic in Mattoon I would use them. They also charge dealer rates for labor and I've had my vehicle there mutiple times and they kept fixing one thing and never fixed original problem of a broken crankshaft position sensor which a friend of mine did. Their ineptness has cost me a lot of business as this is my work vehicle which has new motor in it. I would recommend looking somewhere else to fix as you will probably have to take it back several times to get it done and with a new diagnosis and charge each time.
