I ve stumbled into Randy s Auto while in need of immediate diagnostic work during a trip from Pennsylvania to Colorado. About an hour from Marshall, my recently acquired 1984 Ford Bronco II XLT started to misfire and the engine performance become erratic. Since this was a classic truck that wasn t yet fully examined, I became concerned and pulled off at the first exit in Illinois. I drove into town to grab a coffee and asked around for any recommendations for mechanics. Several people strongly recommended Randy s Auto, and I immediately saw why this shop had an outstanding reputation. I was greeted by the owner, Randy, who took my vehicle for a quick ride with me in shotgun. Within minutes of driving, Randy was able to diagnosis the problems. Unfortunately, getting the required parts would take a few days because this work occurred during the week of the Fourth of July. Despite having to spend nearly a week in Marshall, Randy and his team made me feel welcome by introducing me to their friends, recommending places to visit in town, and assisting me with additional repairs that were initially unforeseen. I d strongly recommend Randy s Auto for any repairs as their expertise and hospitality are unparalleled.

Helped me out and gave me a tow back to Champaign when I was in a jam, which I now know was due to a massive screwup at the DMV (don't ask). I'm not gonna say it was cheap but nothing is these days. Super friendly, and nice people.

My engine had a cylinder misfire 12 hours into an 18 hour drive from the east coast to KS. I pulled off the freeway to Randy's Auto. Travis was the only one present on staff and wasn't able to take any customers. I called 10 other mechanics in the area with no luck on getting my truck in that day or even the next few days. Travis graciously took time the time and had me pull in my truck, ordered a new spark plug and coil, installed them, and sent me on my way to finish the rest of my drive. Both myself and my dogs are very thankful he was able to get it fixed and I had a great conversation with him! Thanks Travis!!

When our car broke down as we pulled off I70 I thought we were in trouble! The police recommended Randy's Auto and it was a good thing I called them! They came to the rescue and went above and beyond with their friendly service. They had the alternator replaced and the car running in one day! who could ask for anything more! Thanks guys!

Best mechanic in the area. Prices are fair to say the least. I have known Randy for about 15 years. He was recommended by a friend. He has done all my repairs since and sold me 2 nice vehicles during this time. I have seen him go out of his way to get travelers back on the road. Very knowledgeable staff from the front desk to the last mechanic.

We had to stop in Marshall with a car problem late in the evening on a Sunday on the way to Denver. I had called a local towing company with a mechanic to fix it Monday, but the local hotel recommended Randy as having fair prices and being a better option. Randy came out, diagnosed the problem and got us in quickly while we had breakfast next door. He fit us in quickly to help us get on the road. Great experience, no unnecessary time or costs. Highly recommended.

I thought pretty hard about this and I can honestly say, Randy's Auto Repair is the best auto shop I've ever used. These guys surpassed my expectations and went above and beyond in so many ways. I'm not saying that because I'm some old friend or something like that either. In fact, I don't even live in the same state.-How I ended up at Randy's Auto:This past year, I was traveling from my home in KS to a veteran's program on the east coast when my truck died on the side of the highway due to ECM failure. The tow truck took me to Randy's (in retrospect, so thankfully)Because of shipping delays related to the global chip shortage, delivery of my replacement part kept being pushed back by the product supplier. Eventually, I opted to fly the rest of the way to my destination because I couldn't push back my arrival any further.Randy's crew worked amazingly with me in arranging to hold my vehicle, repair it upon arrival of the part, and then hold onto it until I was able to arrange for its retrieval at a later date. They also helped with motel & restaurant recommendations, transportation to the motel, etc. while I initially waited for the part.In the end, there were no costs to me other than the part & labor to replace the ecm. There were other things they could have easily charged me for, *and* that any other repair shop *definitely* would have charged for, but the team at Randy's simply told me, "thank you for you service, we appreciate what you've done for the country."-No lip service here folks- Randy's Auto puts their money, their hard work, and their expertise, where their mouth is. Some people 'say' they support the troops, but these guys really do. Please take advantage of any opportunity you have to support them- if you need vehicle services, go to Randy's.To Randy, Travis, and the whole team,Thanks so much for all the help and Semper Fi,Frank

Great guys to work with. Had a good experience every time I've went there. Recently they replaced the brakes and rotors, both wheel bearings on back wheels as well as wheel speed sensors. Perfect. Car runs sooo much quieter now. It's like I have a new car again. Can't believe it.

They are super friendly and very attentive. I came in with a transmission problem and they had it fixed and I was back on my way in 20 minutes. This is the second time they have helped me out while I was on my way to a dictors appointment. Good people.

Highly recommended! Had tire issues on a road trip and did not know the problem. Randy was able to fix the problem, and get us back on the road quickly! Randy and Andy were very kind and professional. We will be driving back (live an hour away) for all future car issues.

Edit: I just want to add that it was confirmed the gentleman who owns the shop has all his friends come on here to give him a 5 star rating for more business whether or not he serviced them or notThis place is OK for small, cheap fixes. If you don't know what the problem is, go somewhere else. The person that runs the place will take advantage of you because they are the only auto repair place in town. They are more than willing to make it sound like you need something expensive, when really it's just a shot in the dark. Got quoted for $750 for a fuel pump there, and we wouldn't have gotten it in for 3 days.We were on a trip from NY to KA, and were stranded with automobile troubles and he knew it.The woman at the desk was one of the kindest people i have ever met, it's a shame that the main mechanic doesn't share the same temperament. In my experience, when somebody has to tell you "I'm not a thief" ten times while trying to sell you something, they end up being a thief. We called Midas, and they quoted us for $400 for a fuel pump, labor included. We get there and the kind mechanics let us know that the fuel pump may not be the issue, and it's an expensive thing to replace just to find out it's not what you needed.Ended up only needing to spend $90 on a coil. Avoid the crooks, trust the Midas touch?

Awesome customer service. Very fair prices. Same day service. Made sure I was on the road before they went home. I have a couple trucks that travel thru this area. As soon as I get back their card will be in everyone of them.

Absolutely the worst shop I have ever taken a vehicle to. 6 months of long story about this place. I do not ever recommend anyone take any vehicle to them. Most horrific customer service, mechanic service, and owner. If zero stars were an option, that's what they would get.
