Car keys are EXPENSIVE. But I paid $100 cheaper for a new key than I would at the dealership. Both of my keys pretty much split in half. It was a key with a fob. They got me one without a fob which I prefer anyways. I had to call off on a client due to my incident with my keys. They were quick enough to where I made it in time to my second client and time to spare to get coffee. I originally posted on Heartland swap asking for recommendations on what to do and 5 different people suggested this business. I'm just happy to not be without a vehicle.

Unfortunately for me, I have to utilize this company twice in two weeks!! HOWEVER, they are quick to answer and extremely efficient! Yes, after hours is pricey, but worth it when your car is running, with the keys in it and it's -47 out!!I hope to NEVER have to call for an after hours emergency again but I will shout their name when asked if anyone knows a good locksmith!!

This is the only locksmith who would actually respond with a return call when I sought assistance. I had a humble job and circumstances where a professional locksmith was required.... and Doug met the need in a helpful and understanding way. I greatly appreciated the service and I highly recommend this excellent individual and his staff.

I locked myself and my dog out of the car today at the park. It only took about 15 min from when I called until I was back in my car! Fast, professional and very friendly. I highly recommend Doug s Lock & Key Service.

This business has too much overhead, you will pay dearly. A call around to a few other locksmiths told the story of how far out in left field this business is with their pricing.DO NOT RECOMMEND

I engaged your services to craft a brand-new key, only to have it break just a few months down the line. I presumed that the warranty would cover a replacement, but to my surprise, when the work was completed, I was presented with a bill totaling $130, specifically for the key's frame. This lack of transparency and the unexpected charges make it impossible for me to recommend your services.

Very informative but ended up going to the dealership where they cut a key from the vin and then gave instructions on how to program it with the pickup. So it only cost me $85 rather than the much higher amount it would have been to have them come out and create a key and program it for me.All in all very good to talk to, was just hoping (and got) a cheaper option.

A bit pricey but everywhere is now, but they did am amazing job getting my Apts master key set and locks together. 10 stars if it were possible.

They were of a great help! I needed a replacement key fob for my 03 Jag, couldn't lock my doors, lol. Very straight forward people, they are very transparent (I bought my own replacement fob; they explained the risks of its faultiness, etc). My only key was so worn it wasn't even funny. In what I'd say was great timing, they were able to get me a new key fob, for a pretty decent price, regardless of me being a walk in, them busy, and my original key being so out of shape. I highly recommend!

Really friendly service. I got a car key copied for my mom's car, and it took only a few minutes to receive my copy. They do suggest that if you're having a car key made to have the vehicle with you, so you can check that the key works. We didn't have the car, but there were no issues, and it was so affordable that it was worth the risk. It was as convenient as could be.

I hired Doug's lock and key to replace all the locks in my new house. I know how to change locks, but I wanted to save time since I had so many, and I needed re-keying all the keys matched. Sometimes it's better to hire a pro. The locksmith that came out was quick and courteous and did good work. One lock was difficult and he worked it nicely. He changed three locks three deadbolts and also three doorknobs, I also had an electronic lock with a keypad that I wanted on the front door, and Doug had explained that they don't warranty locks they don't sell. That makes total sense. I agreed with him and accepted the terms. So from one perspective, you could say Doug is right and I'm wrong. However....All the other locks worked fine. He agreed to install it. I had problems with the lock, because it was actually UNLOCKING when I put in the code, not locking. I looked online and it said this was a common problem if the lock mechanism got accidentally installed upside down and easy to fix. I could do it myself, but since I had paid for installation, I called Doug's and asked them to send the guy out to flip it. The actual tech who installed it was polite and said he'd come out and flip it, but had to check with Doug first. To my suprise Doug refused because he said it was warranty work. I said, "Tell him I can see your point, but I'm not asking you to replace a broken lock, just re-install the one I provided properly. I paid for the correct install." To my understanding, warranty means warranty against the lock malfunctioning due to manufacture, not to it being installed upside down. After being refused again, I asked to speak to Doug directly, and he behaved kind of rude and didn't care for my business. I understand his position, so I included that his side people can judge his actions with all the information. I was wanting, and paid for the lock to be installed correctly, and I think he provided bad customer service after this job. I didn't lose my temper, or yell or anything, but I was so angry after speaking with him, and he could have handled it more pleasantly rather than "take it or leave it sucker". If the lock was broken than I would agree with him. He has somewhat of an arrogant attitude, and I guess being almost the only game in town, he can. I wasn't furious until after talking to him and that kind of attitude eventually will come back to hurt ones business. As a customer, I would just install all seven locks myself on another house, even if some work, rather than give return business. I would never use a business like this again, which has the time to correct an error, for minimal effort, yet instead choses to be petty with the customer who had a lot of work done. I cant understand how pigheaded the guy was when his tech even realized it took a little customer service and that would get a five star. Since the actual work was very good I have given a three stars, but Doug himself gets a one star or zero star. If I was Bugs Bunny, I wold take my glove off and slap his Elmer Fudd face with it. Really disappointed in you Doug.

My car was stolen as I am a young stupid person who left all my extra keys and all my identification in there as well. The car was located but without any key any they were able to make me a new set of keys. Super nice people, very helpful and more than $1,000 cheaper than a Toyota dealership would have done it for. Thank you so much.

Doug helped me out in an emergency needed and was able to make keys for my car without a original key.Doug helped me do it on the best price all while providing quick speedy service.As a previous key maker I was surprised how fast he was able to program the keys to my car as well. He even hoped that I found my keys prior to the service.There's a lot of people in this business that make this service a living hell and there's only a few like Doug that are as nice, well priced, and really good at what they do.10/10 will be more than happy to let Doug service me again

After locking myself out of my work truck I decided I needed another set of keys. I went to Doug's lock and key, they said they could make another set and it was very affordable. The keys work great, they were very friendly, and very affordable. I would recommend them to anyone. I left spending less money than I thought I would, which doesn't happen much these days lol.

Doug, Carla & Tim are the most phenomenally nice people with integrity. Tim was exceptional repairing my truck ignition key tumbler and doors and remade all keys and remotes when they could have replaced locks for a lot more. They kept suggesting on saving money. Tim stayed hour + late to finish the project with no extra fee.Thank you all!

I thought I would give them a challenge with wanting a key for a 30 year old motorcycle, but Nick took excellent care of me and got the key I needed. The key worked perfect. Service was fast. The price was good. I'm extremely well pleased. I would highly recommend them.

Couldn t ask for any better employees. I have a kind of rare key and by chance they had it in stock. Chance was able to cut and program a key for my GTO. That I had zero luck with at a dealer. I ll be a lifetime customer for sure! Thanks again guys.

What an awesome experience!! We got locked out of a room at our office and the old keys we had just were not working well. They got the door open in about 45 seconds and then they decoded and re-cut keys to fit everything in our office right out of their van. As an added bonus it only took them about 40 minutes to get here after I called.

Awesome service! After a series of unfortunate events I locked my only key in my car. Tim came out and got me back in my car in just a few minutes, paperwork included. He was a great guy and really knew his stuff.I tried 3 different places before I called Doug's Lock & Key, but next time (hopefully there isn't one) I will be calling them first. These people deserve your service!

The man who came to open our jeep was there within 15 mins. Very nice and respectful. And helped with disabling the alarm after he quickly opened the door. Only problem was, wife found her keys 4 minutes after he left.

Just had Doug come by and help me get two new keys for my car after I had lost my last and final key to it over the weekend. He was quick, very helpful, and understanding. His price was more than fair as well! Highly recommend going to Doug's service for any lockout you may have!! Thanks Doug!!!

I'd just ended the work day to find out it s locked my keys in my car. It s about 8:30 pm - 8:45 and I request AAA who shows that someone will be available at 9:15am the next day.Did a quick search and Dougs is one of the few 24/he locksmiths in the area. He must ve gotten there in 10 minutes and had me in the car with 3.Gotta love the efficiency and professionalism he has too.Service: Car lockouts

I had only one key for a truck I just bought and needed another one programmed, I took my old key in and Tim cleared both the new one and old key and programmed one as an admin. key and all works great. Cheaper than going to dealer and only took about 20 Min. I would recommend them.DLB.
