I got my 2009 Lexus ES350's water pump fixed here. They did a wonderful job. Quick, skilled, and very nice to my daughter who was the one stranded with my car approximately four hours from our home. I am very happy with their service and the warranty. Not all shops are as clean and kind to their customers as this one is. My water pump failed again and it was warrantied through Tuffy, thank God. I should have brought it back to this shop, my mistake for bringing it elsewhere. I hope nothing but the best for this shop and their crew. Yall do an amazing job. Much love from the Minnesotans!

Traveling between Wisconsin & Illinois: I Stopped and when I went to start my van again it simply clicked. I checked the obvious: battery connections and that lights worked etc, which they did. Called a friend that lived in this city, who suggested Tuffy s on Riverside Street in Rockford, IL. Tuffy s thought it sounded like the starter failed. Their shop was packed! I had them look at it further and ultimately authorized the replacement of the starter. In 4 hours they had me back on the road! Part of the time was just freeing up a bay and mechanic knowing I was from out of town/state. So thoughtful!Just as they/we thought it was the starter. It was actually cheaper than the area shop pricing, all of whom couldn t get me in for two to three days.I highly recommend Tuffy s for their customer service, diagnostics and repairs. Jim and his crew are fantastic! Everyone is extremely friendly and they did an amazing job with our vehicle. Very informative, took us back and actually showed us what was wrong and even drew up a demonstration. I will 100% be back!

I only have positive things to say about Tuffy! The staff is so kind, helpful, and knowledgeable! I know that my car is always in good hands at Tuffy. I won't take my vehicle anywhere else! They absolutely live up to the 'Done Right, period.'

Very rarely leave a negative review as I feel most often they are unwarranted. But this is the second time I've had a poor experience with this repair shop. Scheduled a 7:30 am appointment for them to look at an issue I was having with my truck. Didn't hear a word back until 3:30 in the afternoon when they texted and stated they need my approval to charge for diagnostic. I took it in for them to do a diagnostic. Took them 8 hours (and my wasted work day) to ask me for permission to diagnose the issue. How about asking when I check in? I expect to pay for diagnostic. That's why I took it in in the first place. Why 8 hours later when they would'nt be able to make the repair before the next day anyway.

The mechanic I went to for 30 years retired, and I was searching for another that I felt that I could trust. I am so glad that a friend referred me to Tuffys. Jim is honest and the work is well done. There are payment options and a crew that cares for my safety. I have a new mechanic!

This is the worst auto mechanic my husband and I have ever inquired. Estimates are billed at 80% over the price of the part. What kind of labor are they providing. The prices are insane with poor quality and customer service. My husband paid almost $400 to fix the window motor. So far we have been back two additional times to get it fixed again because the window has dropped down again twice in a matter of months. On top of that the last instance they kept the car for 6 days to fix their error. Completely unacceptable!!Services: Electrical repair, Tires

I have been bringing my cars to Tuffys for years and the service, quality, and price truly can't be beat. The staff is friendly and approachable making sure you understand what is going on with your car. They also offer so many extra perks included with your service that other shops don't like roadside assistance, extended and lifetime warranty, and upgraded technology with pictures of the initial inspection. Original:First time at Tuffy's and I sure won't return again. Was quoted $139 - $179 for a radiator flush, and was, instead charged $215 today. For a 2016 Toyota Yaris. Today, I also had a different shop do a radiator flush on my 2012 Nissan NV 2500 cargo van. They charged me $151 for flushing the higher coolant capacity van by comparison. I know the days of the $65 coolant flush special are over, but price gouging due to corporate quotas is apparently flourishing. I was given a lame excuse. I selected Tuffy's because of the good reviews, but their lack of honesty has cost them an on-going customer, and I hope this alerts others.Response to owner's response:Apparently, you believe that any customer who accepts your service waives the right to complain about it. Most people would agree however that this is not correct. A customer may accept service for an unrelated reason, but this does not mean one is not allowed to complain about said "service" afterward if unhappy with it. Also, I stated a complaint and the nature of your response does not refute its merit. First, that you use "top tier" product in your radiator flush is your choice and irrelevant to the basis of my complaint that I was charged a higher amount for a radiator flush than I was quoted (the invoice states the flush was $185.89 and $191.69 with shop supplies of $15.80 added and then a $10 coupon amount was deducted and the taxes on top amounted to $12.84 to reduce to $204.53 in total. Ignoring the tax amount, $191.69 is above the $179 quoted to me however one views it.Second, I complain that my charge for a radiator flush for a Toyota Yaris is unreasonable relative to the small size and capacity of the vehicle compared to a larger vehicle, and compared to the cost I paid for a radiator flush for my NV2500. The quote I was given upfront by you wasn't specific to the Yaris. I just requested your cost range for a radiator flush and assumed that the small Yaris would fit within that $139 - $179 range (hopefully at the lower end). That it surpassed the entire range is the issue, and I have to wonder after exactly which vehicle does merit the lower range cost: perhaps an air-cooled Volkswagen Beetle?Now you say you don't do a "cheap" service, but many of your reviewers claim your service is affordable. I wasn't looking for a "cheap" service, but I was looking for an "affordable" and reasonably priced service, and you really disappointed me. I won't be back, and I'm entitled to complain as I have.Last, I was there with my sister and the Yaris is her vehicle (the NV is mine). That I chose to accept service at the price offered is solely because my sister works, and I arranged the appointment and her coming with me today to fit her schedule. Sure, I could have blown you off, but it would have cost her and I another week that she could not afford to waste the time on another appointment elsewhere. Not everybody accepts service for the reasons you assert.Actually, I think I was pretty nice in-person today by just advising your rep about the price misrepresentation and not making a stink when his response indicated he could care less and then by factually stating my complaint here. Your arrogant attempt by response to paint me in the wrong for doing so does not reflect well upon you and your reputation.

I had a tire emergency while traveling through from out of state, needed 2 new tires. The staff at Tuffy Tire went above and beyond to help me out. They were polite, professional, and showed me true kindness at a time when I really needed it. 5 Stars for employee named Guy especially.Service: TiresService: Tires

I had a nail in my tire and got it checked out. The cashier made a joke saying if I'd want matching nails in all my tires. After getting my tire checked they couldn't repair it wanted to sell me a set of 2 tires which i only had a problem with one. 2 days later my other back tire dramatically losses air. I get it checked out and the nail is in a unrepairable spot literally the very edge of the tire. Plus they took off screws from back bumper and did not put them back. They did not do anything had me wait 15 min-20min to sign papers to top it off. I don't know if this was a coincidence but it's very strange. Went to Plan B Tires in Machesney Park they fixed the original tire and put a replacement for $72 less than 20 mins.

Have been their client for 2 years now! Not a single complaint against them. Always friendly and helpful. Best part is their price! We got a quote from a local mechanic that was twice more experience than Tuffy quoted us! Job done! For the price of the quote of that other mechanic we were able to fix all the issues with my kid little SUV, not only the original oil leak. We appreciate your honesty! Hi I am a new customer with Tuffy shop in Rockford, my experience has been excellent. I ask for a quote on Rear brakes for my car, Al responded my over the phone with all the knowledge regarding brakes. It helped me understand a lot better and how do breaks on a car interact and .Good pricing with guarantee on the service+ road assistance.I really like there ServiceWalter.Service: Brakes
