The Pit Shop Auto Repair came highly recommended to me and trust worthy. Now I know why. From day 1, or contact 1 rather, Vince put in his more than 100% knowledge, professionalism, 5 star customer service. He went the extra mile to explain all the steps involved from where and what parts would be needed to handling my claim with my Auto Insurance. The team at The Pit Shop expedited exceptional work in a timely fashion with no stress involved. My car has been fixed better than what it came with from original part of purchasing my car! I gave this review a definite 5 star but deserved a 10!Greatly appreciated! Will definitely be referring!

They did a great job on diagnosing and repairing my valve gaskets, as well as a manifold gasket. They also, check on things due for upcoming or preventative maintenance. Really helpful in giving me an overall picture of my vehicles condition. Vince is super friendly and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

Friendly & great service! Vince takes the time to explain things. Also has reasonable prices. I m definitely coming back and passing the word!I m so glad my co-worker referred me to get my oil change here. I came by a few weeks ago, and got an oil change and an overall inspection of my car. I came by at a busy time while it was snowing which resulted in limited parking.. they said it was ok for me to park in the back lot though. I was there for at least an hour which was nice.

Pit Stop has taken car of my Santa Fe and my husband's Silverado. Service has always been top-notch!! Everything is explained clearly and everyone is very courteous. Highly recommend.

I received great service and they have reasonable prices. Vince is a great guy. He's honest and he doesn't talk down to us because we're women. My daughter and I both take our cars to Pit Shop. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Vince R. Is absolutely phenomenal! When my car broke down I was desperate to find help on such short notice! I was lucky enough to have found these guys nearby to fix my car right away! I drove away ecstatic today! I will definitely come back for future car maintenance needs!

Part 1: July 2023I had a great experience here! I brought my car into Pit Shop to get a second opinion after being told at a nearby Pepboys that I needed to have both ball joints on each side of the steering control arm replaced and it would cost me upwards of $1,400 for parts and labor. At Pit Shop, they told me that only one side actually needed replaced, and it was going to cost about $1,000 LESS, with a wheel alignment included, for parts and labor. I am so thankful for their straightforwardness, respectfulness, honesty, clarity, and thorough explanations of what they would be doing and what I would be paying for. Best of all, they were able to get the job done that same day and I have not had any issues since. I highly recommend this location.Edited to add Part 2, January 2024:Another great experience I had: I had a concern with my car's transmission and Vince was so helpful, he brought me to the back so I could look at it and learn about it myself, explaining thoroughly what my options were. I brought it back to get checked on again a couple of weeks later, and received quick, efficient, super helpful service! The people I have talked to here are never pushy, just genuine about the circumstances and offer reasonable solutions and prices.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Steering & suspension replacement, Vehicle Inspection, Wheel alignment

The guys at the PitShop were so awesome. My truck broke down on a weekend when they weren t open so I towed my truck to their shop which was the closest to my breakdown. I call Monday and set everything up with drew. He was so responsive and honest and made sure they were taking necessary steps to only do what was needed before just throwing a ton of time and parts at the vehicle. All said and done they had me fixed up in two days and I was back to having my vehicle. Super professional and speedy fix. Thanks to everyone here. Highly recommendService: Electrical repair

These guys are awesome, I have been brining my Passat here to get it serviced since the dealerships are so expansive. I had nothing but the best experience with pit shop auto repair. I just bought a Honda oddessy for work, got it serviced at pit shop and all the work they did they made the car drive like it s brand new! I m happy that I have found pit shop to be my family s mechanic, very honest and trustfully. Thank you guys! You are awesome!!!!

Highly recommend this shop!! Brought my vehicle in due to my check engine light coming on & had acceleration problem these guys did a wonderful job fixing the issue & on top of it they were able to do the job with a breathalyzer in the car if you need any repairs or oil change come here!

Friendly, fast, and high quality service at a great price. I had to hang out for a few hours while they worked on my car and the waiting room was comfortable. The whole car is running better just due to new Rear brakes. I was looking for your email address. I don't know if I could reply back to the one you sent me. But how much would you charge for a fuel filter, OEM? When the customersays they needed to add brake fluid that means there is a leak. You guys failed to find the leak and told me there is no leak, and I'm getting wheel cylinders replaced now because there is a leak and there was a leak. Now I had to get new brake shoes because they didn't find leak and they are ruined. You guys did not try hard enough to find this leak. Now I got to pay for it.

I m so ecstatic to have this shop close to where I live and trustworthy mechanics in it! I was in a state of panic and Pit Shop took care of me and got my car running safe again! Drew was fabulous!

Great shop thank you Vince and everyone at the pit shop helped me with a check engine problem super fast this is after I went to a few other shops that couldn t do anything because nothing was showing up on the scanner they took care of it. 10 out of 10 experience I would recommend this shop.

I don t know where to begin. I don t think I ve ever received this kind of service before. I m new at navigating life without my husband. I had some doubts about dealing with car stuff on my own. Well, all that went straight down the drain after finding this amazing shop. Chris communicated with me every step of the way, explained everything and helped me to know my car was in good hands. They also loaned me a courtesy car so I could remain mobile as a mom and business owner. I wish I could give ten stars. I highly recommend Pit Shop Auto Repair.Services: Exhaust, Tire rotations

I drove to Chicago for a business trip and noticed upon arrival that my brakes started scraping really bad. I drove around a parking lot like a crazy lady trying to identify which side of my vehicle the sound was coming from. I determined it was the rear right. I figured my caliper had to have been sticking for that to happen as I had just bought new brake pads in July of this year. With it scraping, I was pretty sure I had done some damage to my rotor and I haven't had those changed in a while anyways. I have horrible anxiety about anyone else taking care of my car as I always fear being taken advantage of as a 'out of towner'. I'm also from a small town with pricing/labor congruent with what one would expect of small towns, not Chicago pricing.I called into Pit Shop and spoke w/a very kind gentleman on the phone. I told him the situation and that I was hoping to be able to get back on the road the next day in the afternoon. He let me know they were booked pretty solid that Friday, but asked if I could drop my car off first thing in the morning and they would do their best to fit it in and get me back on the road. I let them know I had a business meeting to get to with all of my sales material, so I would need to figure that out. They said it wasn't a problem and they would PAY for an Uber for me. I was like "really?!?!" First point of being blown away by their level of customer service. They also knew I would not be able to talk on the phone very easily during the meeting and made sure they communicated with me via text with their findings and proposed repairs. They did not proceed with repairs until I approved it; this was an easy process and the proposed repairs were easy to understand. They even applied an online coupon for me as a courtesy. None of the repairs were a surprise to me (whew!). I went to lunch with a former boss and returned to my car all fixed and ready to go. I drove back home (a 6+ hour drive) safely.Two days later, my kiddos and I went to church and we parked on an incline. I discovered my e-brake was no longer working. It was working prior to my rotors, calipers, and brake pads being fixed at Pit Shop. Being a small business owner myself, I understand things can go wrong sometimes and the best thing you can do is own it, correct the issue, and do right by your customer. Unfortunately MOST businesses these days are NOT customer oriented and do not operate with integrity. I was concerned that Pit Shop would deny the possibility my e-brake was no longer working due to some condition that occurred while my car was in their care. They could have taken advantage of me, knowing that I live 6+ hours away and likely wouldn't come back or would have no way of proving it was them, so they could just sweep it under the rug. NOT THE CASE AT ALL.I can assure you that Pit Shop Auto Repair is 100% customer oriented and conduct business fairly and with absolute integrity. They acknowledged the potential issue, asked me to have it checked out w/my local mechanic, and they would go from there. My mechanic found the rear left caliper was defective and had to order in a new one for replacement. Pit Shop refunded the money for the caliper AND the labor. WAY TO GO PIT SHOP!!!!! If I was a resident of the Libertyville area, I would trust these guys with ALL my service needs. Things happen...it's how a business handles when things go wrong that shows their true colors. And their true colors are that of INTEGRITY. Thank you!!! You guys ROCK!

Drew and Dan are knowledgeable, honest, and friendly. I had 2 of my SUVs serviced here and it has been a great experience both times. They get the job done right and at a reasonable price. Oh man, I was hoping to love this place, but I was told I needed over a $1k worth of urgent work. So I took my vehicle to my trusted mechanic for his opinion and he found one of the repairs necessary (the less expensive one) but the other work was NOT necessary.

I can t praise this shop enough! They are definitely the first shop I ve ever experienced kindness and customer service versus just feeling like a buck. My car went in with one problem and when that didn t fix it, they took it back in reassessed at no cost, and not only found the problem but fixed it at no extra charge. Was a blessing and highly recommend this shop for any car trouble!Service: Auto brake repair

I thought that I was having a problem with my transmission, it turned out to be something else but I liked the way that the pit shop handled the problem. I also observed other customers and it seemed like they were honest and truthful to customers, even saying that they weren t sure when there was a doubt. My issue may have been too simple for a 5 rating, but they did a great jobService: General repairs & maintenance

Fixed my trucks engine, this shop has done me a great service, and on top of it the man I spoke to everyday about my truck Dan was amazing with his customer service and very helpful, the person who also worked on my truck Gage did an amazing job mechanically.
