I would not recommend getting your next car battery at Pep Boys even though their battery prices are a bit lower, but it's not worth the hassle!I purchased my AGM car battery 2 & 1/2 years ago from Pep Boys Lombard on 12/28/2020.The battery has 48 months warranty. The battery died on 11/29/2023. I took the battery in at 2pm that day. The counter person said they have to check the battery before they can replace which I can understand. He said they can't get to testing the battery until the next day and will give me a call. 2 days have past and I have not received a phone call. I am not sure why Pep Boys' car battery test is so different that it takes so long. Previously when I had car battery issue, other auto parts chain store can test your battery and alternator in about 10 minutes. Maybe Pep Boys' battery tester is more comprehensive and requires more testing time, but that's definitely not worth the 2 days+ down time on my car.Pay a little more and save the hassle!

Steve was great in helping me schedule an appointment for a valve cover gasket.Upon arrival I was promptly checked in by Ike and Olivia who helped understand what exactly I was getting worked on in my car.Declan was also super helpful and informative.Ike helped me pick the best parts and overall I am satisfied with the work.Would highly recommend this location.

I came in for an oil change. I didn't have an appointment and the manger Ike, took care of me. Not only did they do the oil change but Jose in the back did a full evaluation on my car. He noticed the brakes were at the end of their life. He took me back and showed me the brakes so I can understand exactly what he was talking about.The service was quick and friendly. Excellent experience at this location

I recently had my wheel alignment done at this auto shop, and I am beyond impressed. The service was exceptional from start to finish. The technicians were knowledgeable, and the state-of-the-art equipment ensured precision in the alignment process. My vehicle now drives like new smooth and straight. The staff was friendly, the facility clean, and the service was completed in a timely manner. I highly recommend this shop for anyone in need of a top-notch wheel alignment. Five stars without a doubt!"

Horrible service and horrible attitude.The older gentleman working behind the desk had nothing but attitude when speaking to us, And the gentleman supposedly Doing the diagnostic on our tires, Gave us a attitude as well..Went there for what should have been a simple diagnostic on the tire and possible tire pitch turned into A sales pitch, Stating that all four tires needed to be replaced, Due to age stating that the tires were 6 years old. When in fact I know they are only three or four years old at best. Didn't even give the option of repairing tire just stated that they couldn't repair it and all four had to be replaced.When I put my foot down. And just stated that all we wanted if they couldn't repair the single tire then to just replace it's for the meantime, Until we could plan to have all 4 tires replaced properly.But it didn't seem like they liked that option too much because they then stated that they didn't have the proper tools to replace the tire. And then just simply gave us the keys back and that was the end of it.Didn't give us any options of what to do next. Just simply gave us the keys back and walked away.Got even funnier when I called their competitors down the street. And they were able to help us way more over a phone conversation, than Pepe Boys could do in personThe only nice person that we interacted with Was the young lady that gave us our keys back.

Steve and his team at the Lombard location are always super helpful and honest. Their honesty and concern for the customer is why we keep coming back. We've known Steve for over a decade (since the North Ave location days) and he is always looking to find the best quality solution for the lowest cost impact to the customer. He always makes sure to call and discuss your circumstances, the potential costs and solutions, and give fair and honest feedback. If he feels you might get a cheaper/better solution for your money at a dealer or elsewhere, he doesn't keep that to himself and run up diagnostic fees or install parts that are partial/sub-standard fixes to your overall issue that will end up costing you more money in the end. Again, this is why my family and I will continue to frequent this location for our auto servicing needs. Thank you to Steve and the team for all they do. Your honesty, hard work, and professionalism should be a model for how other auto services should operate.

Went here to get front end work and suspension. Prices are very fair and the mechanics are top notch. Mechanic Steve worked on my car and he did an awesome job while challenged with rusted threads. Ike and Manager Steve are customer friendly and if you try them, chances are you'll be a repeat customer.

Steve G is great. I have taken my car to this Pep Boys and Steve G has worked on it each time. Each time I thought I was going to have to do more work but he checked the car and only did what is necessary and has saved me money.A good mechanic who is honest also is a real find. I couldn't recommend Steve G and the Lombard Pep Boys enough.

I went to Pepboys today at 3 and the worker at the desk immediately told me as I walked in the door any service has to be a drop off as they close at 4. Then he choose to answer a call regarding another customer s vehicle while I was in the middle of responding. I booked an online appointment for 3 and he didn t bother looking up the service I was coming in for but which likely would ve taken less than an hour. Very rude interaction

What a fantastic job by the Pep Boys teams especially Ike. I called about getting brakes done on my Tesla X. He verified they could do the brake job and even called back to schedule the time that was convenient for me. Ike went above and beyond in making sure it went well. I d refer anyone to this location make sure to ask for Ike. Also, it s hard to find a place to do brakes on a Tesla especially at a fair price. Thanks again. See you in 100k miles.

I recently got my tires replaced at the Countryside Pep Boys and they were awesome! Jacob was very helpful! Then I got a nail in my new tires not even a week after that. I took it to the Lombard Pep Boys and they were amazing! Carlos was great that trip and has been super helpful every trip after. I have gotten a few more nails/screws since then and I have taken my car to Pep Boys every time. Pep Boys is now my go to for service. They are reliable and trustworthy.

(I DONOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE) I got a very bad experience from this place. When my car broke down i took it to them, they said it was a battery issue and changed it. They did not took time to charge the battery aswell and then they were like they cant figure out what the problem is with the car and asked me to take the car to a different place. I asked to show the old battery they were like it is already thrown in trash or disposed ( iam sure my old battery was just doing fine as i didnot even get a battery symbol on odometer even tho they have changed it with out knowing the main problem)EVEN THE STAFF ARE RUDE

I took my car in because my heater had stopped working altogether. First they changed the blower motor but then it wasn't blowing any hot air even though it was blowing air. I took it back and they told me it might be the resistor next which I was told my car didn't have so they just gave the car back and it wasn't fixed. I brought it back a third time and was told I needed to wait for some other part which took them a week to get. When I got the car back it was basically doing the same thing blowing air but no hot air. I went back a 4th time and Carlos at the desk told me it might be the thermostat next and he actually told me I need to let my car warm up like I'm lying or I'm an idiot or something. He also said there was no one there to change the thermostat at the time. I decided to go to the Chevy dealer next cuase pep boys seemed unable to fix it. The Chevy dealer said it was a coolant leak. They fixed it in one day, after I spent a month dealing with pep boys. It really seemed like they were just guessing what the problem was and didn't know what they were doing and then acted like I was crazy when I brought my car back that I was expecting to have heat after I paid them 900 dollars. I won't ever be going back to pep boys after this experience, the staff at this location was a total joke.

Steve & Steve were awesome to work with -- highly recommend! They diagnosed and resolved my AC issues in Lola my Mini Cooper Convertible. We made it to FL in tis crazy summer best staying cool as cucumbers! Thanks a bunch guys!

I am looking for a place to go where I don't feel like a woman, but just like a human. I felt treated differently because I am woman...it was subtle but still there. Women will know what I mean.I also can't believe a headlight and oil change at 4:15 would take 1.25 hours.They only had 2-3 mechanics working even though the place is MASSIVE. My guess is that no one wants to work for rotten pay.I cannot stand car repair/oil/tire places. I hate them. I thought this would be better than Jiffy Lube but it was worse.

Such a poor service ever I have experienced. They should stop servicing if they don't have staff. They will hold your car for 1/2 day and will spoil your life. I suggest you to stop visiting them.

Went in for an oil change, and they found a loose part on my car, from a previous job on my car from my mechanic. They did a great job, even did a tire rotation as well.

Really pleased and surprised at how good the experience was. Called at 5:30 pm asking if they could put 4 new tires on that evening. Was thrilled when they said yes. Incredibly fast, polite and courteous service. Counter man went out of his way to be helpful. Highly recommend.

Excellent service...coffee is good, actually the only place open on Sunday to solve a problem unlike most car dealerships.
