Writing this review ONE year later the owner is probably the most honest mechanic I have come across. I used to drive a lot doing the whole Uber, Lyft back in the day so I know a thing or two about mechanics and there personalities. They are usually sharks and awesome at lying. The owner Jon has done amazing work, since I ve had my brakes and rotors changed I have not changed my brakes in over a year! He must use quality parts because my car still sounds and feels great. The other day my car would not start my instant reaction was to call John. Luckily it wasn t anything serious just a simple battery change. Feels great to have a safe and reliable mechanic in the back of my mind. Peace of mind is what I m all about!

I ve always had a great experience with this place. I moved out of the area recently and tried another mechanic, but they did not service my vehicle correctly. I will be making the drive to this mechanic to fix whatever was done wrong at the other place. J1 Auto is worth it, even if I have to drive a little further. On top of being reliable and reasonable, they are very nice, hardworking people.

I was referred to J1 after Discount Tire sheared one of my wheel studs the day before a big roadtrip. Luckily, J1 was able to fit me in! I already had a new stud with me and they were able to pop it on in no time. They were very kind and understanding, and I'll happily bring my cars back to them in the future!

Staff was very polite and professional in specifically the owner high quality and price but well worth didn't do the car repair however help me with an estimate thanks for your help will difently keep you in mind for future car repairs very hones guy.

Jon is the best. We trust and respect his opinions, and costs are fair. He recently went above and beyond for us, coming to where our car broke down and testing our battery. Can t say enough good things about this auto shop. I ve brought my car in 3 times now for different issues and they have always been extremely fair with there prices, clear with what they were doing and never tried to push me into doing something I didn t want to do with my car. They are the best around!

Absolutely wonderful shop. We are 14 hours from home & our vehicle started throwing codes. We were treated so well. Very honest shop. They could have easily swindled us, but instead gave us honest guidance to get us home safely.

Super nice guys that work there. Had nail in my tire tried to go to Firestone and was turned away. I stopped in J1, and they took care of my tire quickly, and they were almost closing as well but didn't turn me away.

I highly recommend J1 for automotive repairs because of their honesty. We use J1 for maintenance and repairs for a manual trans car and an older Jeep. Jon and his staff are forthcoming about the work needed and charge a fair price.My family has been going here for almost 10 years with a variety of vehicles.

Needed someone to fix my car away from home on a Saturday. Found them after a search and barely made the trip to them. I broke down only 5 minutes away from them but live 35 away. They were quick to diagnose the car. Fixed it quickly and reasonably priced. They also gave me an inspection and told me what will need to be addressed in the future.You won't be disappointed with this company.

100% recommend - Jon and his team will go above and beyond for you! If you need a job done and you want it done right the first time, take your vehicle here. Jon and his team have incredible expertise, are super friendly, very honest, priced fair, and super fast! I live about 40 minutes away and it is worth the drive every time! I cannot imagine taking my vehicle anywhere else. I ve had my shocks/struts replaced here, tire rods, oil pressure switches, etc..... A+ across the board from quality of repair to the exceptional quality of customer service!

We have taken three of our cars (WRX, Flex, Transit) here in the past 2 months. Not only did they not take advantage of us, they fixed everything 100% correctly with a fair price. I can t recommend them enough and am beyond grateful to have found our new lifetime mechanic

My regular mechanic retired and I needed a new place to take my car. J1 Automotive was recommended to me. They are absolutely fantastic! They are friendly, informative, knowledgeable and they love what they do. I needed my tie rods replaced but they did all the proper checks to make sure it was the tie rods and not something else or in addition to. They also sent a link to there website that included what needed to be repaired with pictures, what I should consider having looked at in the future and a everything that is good on my car, like oil, transmission fluid and anything else. They are very fair in their pricing. As for the work they did on my car, it was great as soon as I got on the expressway i noticed the improvement right away. My car didn't shake, it wasn't loud and I felt safe. If you need to take your car in for anything put J1 Automotive at the top of your list to take your vehicle to. You'll be extremely pleased.

Incredibly good and trustworthy mechanics. Jon and his team will help you every step of the way with your car and will be up front about what you need and do not need. He's the perfect mechanic shop owner, honest, trustworthy and won't upcharge you. I've brought both of my cars in to his shop and he never disappoints.Many mechanics will happily overcharge you for repairs, J1 will not. If you google the average price of specific repairs on the car you have you'll easily see that they are always within that range and they're always honest about how long it'll take them to do a repair. They're often busy so you might need to give them a bit of time to finish your repair but the wait is well worth it.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

Owner is a really great guy and very reasonable priced in fact it's more expensive for me to buy everything for an oil change and do it myself than to have his shop change my oil my. J1 is great. They care about working on your car until the issue is fixed.We've had a couple of hiccups with them, but in the end, everything was resolved. One time there was a miscommunication about what work needed to be done. They took the time to fully explain everything until we were fully informed. Another time the work they did caused our engine to start misfiring. We were pretty freaked out, but they worked overtime that same day to fully fix our car, and test drove it extensively to make sure the problem was fully resolved.They are extremely busy, so try to make an appointment ahead of time to help out their scheduling.I'm not a car person at all, so I need a trustworthy mechanic, and I'll be taking our car here exclusively from now on.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine tuning, Auto maintenance, Oil change

Couldn't ask for a better experience. Getting your car worked on its always stressful so there's no reason it should be more difficult than it has to be. The staff is known knowledgeable, friendly and patient with my lack of knowledge. When I came here the wait time was pleasant because it has a lobby with refreshments, tv, magazines, etc. I would highly recommend local Lombardian folks to go here for they're car needs!

Finally... a truly honest mechanic! Great work, fair prices and super friendly.Jon is very skilled and will tell you if you don't need a repair (that you thought you did), and will estimate of how far in the future you may need repairs based on your car's current state. He also is NOT one of those shady mechanics that takes something all apart to 'diagnose it' and then you are 'forced' to make a repair because it isn't able to go back together without new parts.I'm so glad I was referred here! My husband agrees, so I'm telling everybody about this place!Thanks Jon for being great with both of our cars...and our budget!

Jon and his staff are very Honest, Helpful and always communicate via text, phone or email within 10 minutes. They are very pleasant on the phone, and always makes you feel comfortable and eliminate all worries you may have. Outstanding. Amazing service and people there are even better! Jon is someone that you can really trust because he doesn t oversell, and really tries the best to help you out. I was there late afternoon because of work, even tho he was about to close he still helped me out as much as he could and gave me great advice about my car. I was referred to here by my boss and my colleagues, and after I went there I know exactly why they go to J1 for any car issues/concerns.
