Arrived today to pick up a car. Only car on the lot was a BMW SUV. Much nicer than the Kia Soul-class car I reserved. I was on my way in no time I ve rented here once a month for several months and have no reason to go elsewhere.

Hand downs one of the best car rental locations in all of Chicagoland. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted and accommodated with one of the best services I have been offered. The gentleman who helped me out was so polite and understanding, for someone who has never rented a vehicle before, he made it the easiest for me.I rented out a 2019 dodge caravan, when I picked up the vehicle it was clean inside and out, and ran with absolutely no problemsI will definitely be using their services again, and will recommend to all my family and friends.Thank you Budget Car Rental for the amazing experience!!

I have been renting from this location for the last 5 years and Deirdre has been the best manager. Cars are clean and checkout painless. I rent here several times a month for work and have other options, and this is my go-to location. She has always been helpful and attentive to any issues that might come up.

We reserved a moving van days in advance to move someone from Chicago to Indianapolis. We show up and the employee was instantly unfriendly. They asked me if I was there for a car, and I gave my name and said I was there for a moving van. They say, Oh, we don t have any of those. I forgot to call you to let you know. They then check with another location, which also doesn t have any available. The employee tells me, Can you check if UHaul has anything available for you? And I said, Yep! and walked out. Do better, Budget. You just lost a customer.

Absolutely the worst experience ever! We reserved a vehicle well over two months ago. Called a few days ago to ensure our reservation was still in place, due to no confirmation emails or calls. Person said everything was good to go. Went to pick up today. Our vehicle was "ready" an hour and a half after our scheduled pick up time, filthy from the previous renters and the wrong style vehicle so it would not accommodate our travel needs. We asked if there was going to be any type of compensation for us having to clean the car and deal with the mess up in model and we were met with "that isn't our policy, if you don't want the car we will refund you." I wasn't aware that your policy was renting out extremely dirty interior cars late to customers with booked reservations.... But of course this happens on a Saturday and they were just late enough getting us the rental that all other places are closed. Thanks for the great start to our first family vacation, Budget. Al least you won't have the opportunity to ruin our next. Avoid this location and "business" at all costs! And yes, we gave the vehicle back to them for our refund (it was truly that bad!)!

Long time customer. I pre-paid in full for a rental reservation several days in advance, and showed up on time for it. But they gave my car away to somebody else and closed early. Their excuse is they couldn't reach me when they tried calling earlier in the day, so figured they could just give away my car to someone else. So I was left stranded. When I contacted Budget they said this contradicted their policy, the branch was not in the right to do this. Budget apologized and gave me a voucher but only after escalating the case. Beware of this branch.

I had a really negative experience with this facility (moving truck) and found out the hard way about some extremely dicey customer service techniques that the company as a whole practices. I will start by mentioning that 90% of my CAR rentals are from budget (never this location). I reserved a MOVING TRUCK with Budget online to pick up from this location 3 weeks ahead of my move. The online representative (chat) indicated that I would need to call the location itself to confirm the reservation and provide them with my credit card details to hold it. I immediately called them upon making the reservation and stated to the clerk verbatim what I was told. He said quote, "No, I see your reservation here and it is good to go, we don't need the credit card". I told him I thought that it was strange they would tell me to do so if I didn't need to, and I would prefer an e-mail to confirm everything was good. He said he would send the email. I never received the e-mail, and didn't check back immediately due to all of the other things happening in my life. So 5 days prior to my move (Monday, picking up on Friday) I called again and spoke to the same clerk who told me that "yes, still have your reservation, 16' truck, looks good, no issues, we'll see you Friday." I told him I never received the e-mail. He said "I can't send you an e-mail from my system, so I will text it to you" and confirmed my cell phone #. He sent a picture via text message with my reservation #, name, cost, and truck details. I thought it was odd, but since it all looked good in the picture I figured I'd let it go. Despite all this, I decided on Thursday to call again just so I wouldn't get burned. 4:50 PM on the day before, I call and speak again to the same gentleman, who tells me immediately "Oh, my inventory manager didn't contact you to let you know that your pick-up location has changed?? I spoke to him Monday and after we talked and he said he'd call you."No. No, he didn't call me. And also, what do you MEAN that my pick-up location has changed?? Your location is the only one close to my house.He tells me that they've gone home for the day and I'd need to call customer service and they'd tell me where to get my truck since he isn't 'allowed' to see.I call customer service, who proceeds to tell me "oh, since your reservation was never confirmed with a credit card, it was cancelled. Yes, Cancelled. No call, no e-mail, no 'remember to confirm your reservation!!' Just cancelled with zero warning. the NIGHT before and only because I asked. So I immediately drive to the store, where I sit on the phone with the customer service supervisor who also tells me there is no way to contact the inventory managers and they have all gone home, and he would 'escalate' and they'd resolve the situation the next day. (the day of my move, when I was supposed to have the truck by 7:30 AM and I had movers coming to help load it at 8:00) Obviously, at this point I am fuming, and the clerk at the store says all he was told is that it was moving, nothing about cancellation or unconfirmed reservations, though his story changes slightly back and forth between 'the Inventory Manager was going to call to tell you your res was moving' and 'the inventory was going to call to confirm the reservation' ... All in All, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. The next day, after leaving a voicemail for the Inventory team, and having been promised by national customer service supervisor that they would resolve the situation, I received ZERO communication from ANYONE at budget. I rented the same sized truck for ~$90 more at U-haul and had a great experience with them. Never again will I rent a truck or a car from Budget. Pay a little more money and save yourself from the hassle. This location is poorly run, and I found out through my other conversations that the national infrastructure at budget is completely in disarray. They will take reservations left and right, but they cannot guarantee them. *Cue the Seinfeld car reservation episode here*

Budget Car Rental you are a life saver!I came to rent out a minivan for my family and I last week. We were running late for a road trip because our own car broke down and we were really frustrated and in a rush. We contacted Budget Car Rental and I was helped by a man who walked me through the entire process in just a few minutes. I had my car and my family ready to go in just a short amount of time. This is one of the best experiences I ve had in renting a car and I would definitely use them again. Highly recommend! Thank you so much!

Are you looking for a rental car, SUV, or truck at a low cost? Whether you need a transitory rental to explore the city for a few days or you need a extended rental to travel out of state, this is the place to go!!! I have personally rented from this location Budget on multiple occasions and was always satisfied with the customer service. No hassles, hidden fees, or cancellations. Umar provided me with the lowest rates in the city, along with the exact kind of vehicle I needed, all while going out of his way to accomodate a good rental experience for me. One time I was late in picking up my rental, but he came and opened the place after hours to make sure I still got my vehicle . Much love

I was in town for a few days to take care of some personal business, and I had reserved a sedan. Quick and painless transaction and I was on my way within 20 minutes. The following day I hit a huge pothole (thanks Chicago) and it took out the front right tire. A quick call to Budget, and I spoke with the owner, Umar. He called a tow truck and personally came and dropped off an SUV (wohoo) so I could be on my way without a hitch, and said everything will be taken care of.10/10 will rent from them again, and recommend to all my friends and family. Thank you again for the wonderful experience Umar.

Omar called and cancelled the reservation and said that they had no vehicles on the lot , despite several being listed as available online. How does a rental car company not have any vehicles? No explanation needed, this is not a trustworthy business - go look at their ratings on Yelp.

Furious with Budget. My husband and I planned out our move over 800 miles across state and booked a 16 Budget truck in advance knowing that was the exact size we needed to move. Upon arrival to pick up the truck, he was informed that not only did this location not have our 16 , but neither did a single pick up location in the surrounding area. Instead, having to leave by the middle of the day as we d planned to make our halfway non refundable hotel reservation, we were forced to attempt to make a 12 truck work. Rather than discount the truck based on their subpar system and total lack of the vehicle we needed, he was told upon return, we would need to call corporate to explain the situation and work it out with them. The truck was completely maxed out without our newer sectional couch that cost us more than the original truck rental itself. We had to leave our couch behind to be picked up by a junking company because of Budget s inability to provide what we were promised. This is entirely unacceptable and I will never book through Budget again if this isn t rectified in some way once we turn the vehicle in later today.

I rented a car for a 3 day vacation. The car was clean and i was able to pick the car of my choice. Umar is very friendly and has great customer service. I definitely see myself going back.

This business is a complete joke. If you wanna get screwed over, rent here. I made a reservation a week ago and got cancelled on the day before my move in. Was told they don t have a truck for me and that truck availability is by who pays more. LOL WHAT? Already filed a claim with the BBB and I m contacting a lawyer.

Have rented from them a few times. The employees are great! Always welcoming with a smile, have great conversations and have cars ready for you. Never had any issues. Definitely recommend.

Prepaid reservations do not lock in the ability to have a vehicle, only a price when the vehicle actually arrives. It has happened more than once, that Budget has taken my money for a prepaid reservation, yet they will not have vehicles available at the time. The only response is to wait a couple hours and see if the vehicle arrive. These are because of other returning their vehicles late, or Budget taking on more reservations than they can handle.

Not helpful at all!!! Did not have the car available that I reserve. Made up a lie that they don't accept debit cards when it is clearly posted on the wall that they accept debit card. Staff made no effort to resolve the issue...bad business practices. Don't waste your time, go to Evanston location or north broadway...

Horrible! Made a reservation a week in advance. When I arrived (Sunday noon) they had no cars - not even an upgraded car. He sent me to another location that told me they couldn't help. Then they closed and left me hanging. No call in advance to tell me that there were no cars and no apology.

The three stars are for their employees. Tiny shack for a office, hot and really old & slow computers. But their people make it work as well as they can. Car choices are a bit on the stingy side. Leave them more cars.

Great service from the man working. He explained everything and even vacuumed out the vehicle and made sure everything was good before I drove off.
