I'm usually pretty weary of mechanic shops because you just never know who you can trust and if the work promised is actual work done. I have to say that my first visit at Lake Villa Tire & Service has been superb and far exceeded my expectations. Both Mike and Ken were professional, explained all the services to me and answered all my questions. During this visit I asked for a front brake service along with an oil change. After an evaluation of my brakes by their tech, Mike called me and stated that it's not something that I need done right now because my brakes had plenty of life left in them. I was surprised to hear that as I'm used to mechanics pushing services on me whether they are needed or not. They definitely earned my business for the future and I will be sure to recommend Lake Villa Tire & Service to all my friends and family for all their vehicle needs. Thanks guys! -Sebastian

I needed new tires after getting a nail in one and decided to replace all four before leaving a day later for July 4 vacation.Mike and his crew were able to acquire and get the four tires I wanted delivered next day and installed. It s great to find an easy to do business company that has a good team and does great work.I ll be sure to come back for my trucks tires next and I d highly recommend you give Mike and his crew at Lake Villa Tire and Service a call.Service: Tires

Mike and the crew always take great care of my car. Being a young girl sometimes you don t get the service you are looking for. Mike always explains everything in real people terms and doesn t try to slide something past me. I ve been going there for 4 years now! Keep up the great work guys!

Recently had my car towed to this shop after a previous positive experience. I had my car towed this weekend due to leaking fuel and it was discovered that my fuel tank had a puncture and required a replacement. Given that I had hit something the day prior, I wanted to work with my insurance due to the cost.My insurance estimator had an estimate $400 less than what the shop's estimate was. My options were to leave it with Lake Villa Tire & Service and pay the difference or have it towed elsewhere. I contacted the shop and spoke with Mike in the hope to ask some questions so I can make an informed decision to leave it there or have it towed elsewhere.Before letting me speak to ask my questions or inform him of the intent of my call, Mike went through the estimate (which I had a copy of already). He then ended the conversation with "put it this way, it ain't my car so I'm not paying for it" referencing to not eating the cost difference. I voiced my discontent with the conversation and tone in which he said "I'm not trying to beat you up over this."Not once did I ask him or the shop to eat the difference. I was hoping to ask questions on where the discrepancy was mainly so that I can decide if I would be willing to pay the difference myself to give business to a local shop. Rather than listening or allowing me to ask questions he wrongly assumed my intent was to get him to eat the $400 difference. Needless to say, I am having my car towed elsewhere & will never return here. Due to my experience, I cannot recommend this shop to anyone.I can totally understand that he has dealt with insurance companies often enough to be in positions like this before, where certain customers may expect the shop to eat the difference. My dissatisfaction is not based on the price difference between the shop and the insurance estimate, it is tone, the words he chose to use, and the wrongful assumption of the reason for my call. Honestly, for $400 I likely would have left it there vs. having it towed elsewhere and starting over. I need my car back.

Fantastic service. Did an overnight drop off for an Ili change. I was able to pick up the vehicle the next afternoo. Had an old school vibe that was appreciated. Would recommend.

I was a loyal customer for a couple years but the last visit changed that. I went for an oil change and noticed a leak a few days after. They claimed to fix it but now I see they just smeared epoxy all over so no one else can change the oil next time. I don't think they do ethical work. Make sure you check their work afterwards.

Mike and his crew did a brake job on my truck back in May, and replaced headlights this week.Both times they provided great customer service and excellent work by their mechanics at a competitive price.Give Mike a call the next time your car needs some TLC!!

Brought my car in for a routine oil change which turned into a larger job thanks to the catch of the team there! They found another issue which could have cause major damage down the road. They did great work and also got my AC kicking again. After a horrible experience at a competitor, I scheduled an opportunity change with you. Two hours before my appointment my car stopped dead in its tracks. Turns out not only did the previous person that changed my oil at the competition not replace the oil cap on the engine, all the oil was thrown out of the engine over the previous four months. It was bone dry in my engine... there had been a kerosene type smell for a few months and I took it back to the previous place to have them figure out what it was. They had it in back and came back with "you need a new cabin air filter" they didn't even notice the cap was missing and oil was burning on the manifold causing the smell. When lake villa tire and service looked at it and found they also were leaving the extra gaskets from previous oil filters on when they were unable to remove them. So there was a few layers of gaskets between the newest filter and the oil pan. Lake Villa tire was so helpful during a scary time and fixed it for me at a really reasonable cost. Went in for a full set of tires and upon inspection, the shop owner Mike said I only needed two. Honest, helpful, friendly, and efficient! Mike and his employee found a pin in the tire. The tire has 1500 miles and the pin was in the sidewall. Mike stated the pin didn't go all the way through and there was no charge. I will be coming back to do my service here. Very nice people.Service: TiresService: Tires
