This company has to focus on enhancing their courteous and fundamental politeness in their interactions. There appears to be a perception that they speak as if the parts are provided at no cost. Implementing a training program for front desk customer service would be beneficial in addressing this issue effectively.

Over many years, I have been a repeat customer at Acme in both a personal and corporate capacity. There are so many automotive services and products they offer across so many different product lines. From batteries to windshields, engines to transmissions, engine repairs to brakes and suspension ; Acme can repair, replace just about any part or service on any car, truck, Suv, or commercial vehicle both foreign and domestic.Besides the automotive services, I have used Acme for commercial snow removal for small and large properties. If you need small or large scrap disposal and metal recycling, Acme is the choice. There are so many services they offer, it is truly incredible. The best part about Acme is the owner, Mike Baker. Mike is a down to earth ,generous, and kind business owner. He is truly engaged and understanding of people and their automotive needs. Acme puts people over profits and delivers quality products and services at a very reasonable priceI highly recommend Acme for any automotive need or any of the many products and services they offer.

please do yourself a favor and drive to the junkyard in Blue Island. This junkyard has cars that are fully gutted and accuse you of stealing. What is there to steal if all you have is dust bunnies?!?! I swear acme employees have no parent figures

When a trip through high water blew the engine in our van, a coworker from Indiana recommended Acme Auto Parts to me. After getting several quotes on an engine replacement around Lafayette, IN, I decided to go with Mike's competitive offer, even though his shop was 80 miles away. Mike picked up the van from Lafayette and brought it to his shop. He was able to offer a used engine with fewer miles on it than other shops, and I was able to replace the windshield and bumper with him as well. Junior and Mike worked miracles on our van! Junior was very thorough and made sure everything was in order before returning our vehicle. They swapped out the old engine with a newer (used) one, included a new water pump and warranted their work.It has been a few months since then, and we've put several thousand miles on the new engine. The van runs great and I highly recommend Mike and his team! They are friendly, professional and thorough. Should the need arise, we will definitely return to Acme Auto.

I wouldn't step foot there ever again. I was shopping for a bumper in the yard which I had no luck of finding. They keep vehicles in yard too long and stripped out of anything worth buying. Not to mention accused of stealing catalytic converters mind you with no tools in my possession. So be careful and think twice about doing business with them not worth the headache.

ACME auto parts is the place to go in all of Kankakee County and surrounding areas! Mr.Baker always has the part you're looking for at a great price! Huge inventory available with many acres of great cars. I could spend all day here just walking the yard! Great prices and parts availability followed always by a great conversation with Mike!

Very Friendly Company to do Business my Family been doing business with Mike and his crew for years and I'll always remember when I brought in a couple of large 60 Smashed Crushed Can and got them weight and then got the Ticket and went to the front counter to Mike and He was blown away at how much I had brought in and got Paid On The Spot In The Front Desk Office Area and went my way and I'll always keep on Continue To do business with Mike and his crew like my Brother does and if Google would let people give him Ten Stars Mike Company would get the Ten Stars from me and my family all day long today

I called up Friday Afternoon around 4:45pm (15 minutes before close) asking if they have a size 235/16R60 tire. The guy on the phone said they did. I told him I would be there the next day to get it.I called back Saturday Morning around 9:15am to verify they have that tire. Unfortunately the guy on the phone said they couldn t find a tire that size.I told him that I called yesterday and was told they did have a tire that size in which he said that they looked but couldn t find one.Either the guy yesterday misunderstood the size I needed, they didn t look hard enough or some how it got sold within that time frame.I m not really happy because I really need to get my tire changed and I ve been driving around slowly on that donut tire for the past week and it s impeding my ability to use my car effectively and get to places. The only reason I am giving them a 2 star rating and not a 1 star is because the place offers good affordable deals.

Needed a tail light. I had them pull it. They called me when it was ready. Part was in great shape. Thanks! Oh and it was cheaper than an aftermarket or used OEM part online.

Been going here since i was a teenager. Recently went through them for a new motor for our 96 jeep. Had a few hiccups but overall they did a amazing job. Was a great price also. Sean was very knowledgeable and Mike is always on the front lines. He always remembers us when we see him which makes it easy when finding parts. Highly recommend.

Came there today as I regularly stop here for parts for my car group. Gentleman at the desk shot me an irregularly high price for only a couple small parts. I asked about the high price since I pull parts from all over the area and he got hostile with me and told me to check prices before I come. If you have a problem sir we can settle it.

When they were smaller they used to be more attentive to the customers. I called about a part and was told that they had some pulled. When I arrived they went to get the part me . 10to 15 minutes later guy return without part. So I question him very polite concerning the radiator. I was told to relax and not be in such a big hurry. I asked about how much longer should I expect to wait and was told about 10 minutes... After another 30 minutes I asked another salesman and was told basically the same thing. He said when they say 20 minutes you can expect to wait 45 minutes. The owner heard our conversation and asked what was the problem. After telling him every thing that had transpired he was kind of condescending, and he said that he would just give me my old radiator back and I could go elsewhere. A word to the wise; What goes up Must come down. So be careful how you treat people on your way up cause you might see those same people on your way down.

This place is incorrectly named. We were in the area from NC and I was given the name of this company and Mike Baker for potentially replacing our bum landing gear leg on our RV. I called and they said they had what I needed (thinking a "PARTS" store), but I had to make a quick decision since the location was an hour away from where we were, and I had just enough time to get there with about 20 minutes before closing. So I rushed off to make it in time. When I arrived, I referred to my call to the guy at the desk, and ended up speaking with Mike to ask about the part. Sarcastically and rudely he stated that he didn't have time to go out in the rain and look, but showed me the area on a screen where a flatbed trailer was located and sent me out to look. (It actually wasn't raining but just cloudy.) What I encountered was a huge SALVAGE yard, and I came back in after not seeing one RV on the entire lot. Thinking I should just leave, I went back in to the counter and he then sent one of the assistants to show me where the drop down flatbed was located, which was nowhere near what I had described when I had called. Biggest waste of time and fuel I've ever experienced. However, the shop kitty was sweet. I wouldn't refer anyone to this "PARTS" store, namely because of Mike's rudeness. However, if someone needs to search a SALVAGE yard for a rare part et al, this place may be of help. I strongly suggest they rename it "ACME SALVAGE" as the word "salvage" would communicate what it actually is, rather than a false idea of an auto parts store like unto NAPA or Autozone.

Came in to get head light told the person at the counter part year and make of car he came back with wrong part. Then tried to say that I told him wrong. Then continued to argue with me. You can tell that when I walked in the door that he didn't want me to come to him. But there was no one else to go to. The place was empty I see why. Last time in this place!!!

Went in today to get some parts for my mustang (got a wing and a piece for my center console in my car) paid a very fair price for the items the owner i spoke to Mike was his name knew exactly were the cars were parked very civil man i would say and also the staff walking around were very nice and helpful but i would recommend getting out of the yard before 5 because 1 it gets very dark and 2 the staff would like to go home . but other than that its a great place to get parts for your car and they gave me a like i said fair price for the wing and console piece

Decent scrap prices. Have only ever dealt with the owner, nice guy if you understand his sense of humor. Got a brand new front bumper for my daughter's nissan versa for 175. Then had his people prep and paint to match her car for another 100. I couldn't find the same new part for less than 400 anywhere else not including the cost to match the color of her car. Will be taking my used truck that I bought there to have some rust cleaned up and painted to protect the skin.

The location was a bit tricky to find considering a distance off the highway , the customer service was good and no issues , locating the salvage car I was trying to find took some time . Would like to see a inventory of cars and lot rows to have better access . Otherwise I had no issues and the part I got worked ( trunk lock actuator Nissan Altima 2003 )

Mixed feelings here depending on which experience I base my thinking on. Reading through other reviews I can agree with most.. I often felt talked down to when visiting or calling for a price. Snobby responses were common. However, there was also a time that I had a windshield replaced at a fair price, even when they broke 3 trying to remove them from cars in the yard. It took longer than expected but they ended up putting a brand new windshield in. Try to have patience with them.. they're a business that tries to do right by themselves and the customer.

Love this place. We have had 3 cars that have been in accidents and these guys fix them great and quick. They even gave us a loaner car while they are fixing ours. You can't beat their prices either. Everyone there has that quick wit that i enjoy to be around too.

I love to write reviews when I receive great service, and I was very satisfied with my major purchase and service here at ACME recently. Ty, Mike, and Rusty wanted to make sure that I was a satisfied customer, and I can honestly say that I am very happy with the service I experienced with them and others. I highly recommend ACME for auto parts and installation, and I will not hesitate to visit this business again for my automobile needs.

To fix 1 window they told me to come drop my car off now which it s al and they said it may be ready by 3pm! A 6+ hour wait for 1 window!!! It s a quick fix. That means u have to drop off your vehicle and then pick it back up. Very inconvenient!!! I like to stay with my vehicle and I let him know that but he told me it s not an option unless I wanted to wait there all day. Getting rides to and from places isn t always the easiest and not everyone can give up their daily driving car for such a long period of time! They should at least offer appointments so that way we can bring our small repairs in and get them done and be out the door. A small repair shouldn t require you must drop your vehicle off

When I needed a part I couldn't get anywhere else, Acme usually has it...I have bought parts for three different vehicles...usually just small stuff.I needed a steel wheel to use as a spare and Acme had exactly what I wanted. Also, used auto parts places aren't junk yards...you buy junk to replace on your vehicle. My brother, way back in the 70s, would call used auto parts places, "boneyards"...and it stuck with me....hope you catch on....

Went there to get a couple interior door handles for my car. Got inside waiting in line to get to the desk. Waited for about 5 minutes then these 2 other guys walk in and the guy at the end look at them and ask them what they needed. VERY RUDE that we were waiting before these guys even got here...Then when I get to the counter with the blonde hair guy and told him what I needed. He then said "I think we have some new ones in the back, hang on." I asked how much they would be, he said "$10-$15 (each)". He came back with none and said he could order some if I wanted.... HELLO, I was there to get some out of a car in the junk... He then told me to go out back and see if I could find some. I found what I needed (two of them).Got back inside and he asked how many I have and said 2. THE GUY wanted $20 for them! I looked at him and told him I could get NEW ones for that price! He came down to $10 quickly after.Rude service and tries to OVER charge you!

Acme is a good old fashion junkyard, not a corporation run junkyard like LKQ Pick Your Part. LKQ will nickel and dime you for everything, including admission fee, core deposit which you don t get back, and warranty fees. By the time you pay all of the LKQ fees you re about 70% of a new part.At Acme, you just walk into the yard and see if can find what you re looking for. Upon finding a part, go inside and get a price. I have always found the prices for parts to be very reasonable if not down right cheap. Just the other day, I got a ICM module for $30 cheaper then LKQ wanted.I ve been a customer for 15+ yrs while doing restoration projects. The only complaint I had was their driveway was a little bumpy yrs ago, but they fixed that. I ve always enjoy talking to Mike and walking around in the yard listening to all the stories those old cars can tell you.

Please don't waste your time with giving this company any of your time or money.I have been leaving messages with Acme Auto Parts,Inc since August 2nd for the poor service I had the week 17th of July. The service started as we looked for a truck part. This company said they had a good one and would sell it. ($100's) It was 3 hours away. When it was picked up it should have been all good. As Acme said it was a good part. Again 3 hours away. Once back into town, truck on the lift and ready to make it happen. Remember the part was sold as a good part and ended up being worse than what was getting replaced. Now a trip back up there and service of not caring they wasted days of getting a repair done. If you extra time and money go ahead use them. But I wouldn't if I were you.
