I've been taking my Kia Sportage here for years. They are very fair price wise, they only accept cash though. They let you know what's wrong and let you decide if you want it fixed.

They were really great. Got my truck in discovered the problem, brought me to see what was wrong, explained the cost and time it would take. And it didn't even take as long as they said. 1st time here, had a really good experience. Thank you Velasquez!!

These guys are great! So great I should buy them lunch. I took my car in for minor repairs and boom! Don't st a love price. Professional mechanics are on point, and they will get your car rolling.The part is that the price is right.These guys are the best.

This place is the worst place to ever visit. The receptionist are so rude and unprofessional. No one in that place has communication with the mechanics and when you call to speak on what s goingOn with YOUR car they absolutely just tell you they will call within 2 hours and they have you like that allllll day to fix nothing!!!! If I can give them a negative 10 stars I would! They don t even deserve a one star.

Tried 3 times to get my truck in for a simple pipe weld repair. Was turned away each time saying they are to busy. Might as well just stick to brake jobs and oil changes if you don't want to do muffler repairs

I normally get my car serviced at a different shop. My car needed exhaust work, which my preferred mechanic doesn't do. They recommendwd Velazquez.I was very happy with the recommendation. Very fair prices and good work.I went on a Friday morning around 9 am and they were packed. It's first come first served so be prepared to wait or have a ride ready if you decide to drop off your car. Also, at the time of my visit they were cash only.Again, great prices band great work, just expect a wait.

The receptionist always act too busy actually help. She recommended leave my car for three days for a muffler repair. This was my second time getting the same off putting service. You got your second shot guys I m sure you would be out of business If it wasn t for your location on the busiest part of Jefferson St.

I bought my car to them in August because I needed a new engine and they do engine replacements, this cost me approximately $2k which included a car rental. After getting the car back as soon as I pulled it off the lot the car started over heating I bought the car right back to them and they told me it was okay the engine needed to adjust. 2 weeks after Driving my vehicle the engine light came back on, I took the car back to them and they told me it was my Cadillac converter but they were under the hood of my car for hours doing something to the engine and they never told me what the real issue was but they claimed that they fixed the issue and everything was fine. Whatever they did the engine light went off. I have been driving the car for weeks now and the engine light would sporadically come on and then go off. For the last 2 weeks the engine light has been on consistently. Now today, the engine light is blinking and the engine is making a noise like it wants to cut off. The transmission has been replaced recently and when I took it to the Ford dealership they said it s not the Cadillac converter, it s a bad engine! I took the car back to this place and the receptionist was horrible, I told her there was no oil in the engine because it needed an oil change and she told me that s not the issue and that no one could look at the car until Monday, mind you it s 11am on a Saturday morning. They make you wait out in the cold, make you pay in cash and then do bare minimum work on your car just to charge you more money for stuff that don t even need to be replaced. It sad how ppl no longer value excellent quality work or customer service. I will be contacting the BBB and filing a lawsuit on this company if my car is not fixed correctly with a proper running engine like I initially paid for. The engine that was placed in my car had problems the second I pulled off their lot and they knew it because I continued to bring the car back with the same engine issues, it s a bad engine period and they need to acknowledge that and replace it for free as I ve already paid in August and what they did was continue to put bandaids over the engine issue so they could get past the warranty phase on the engine so they could try to charge me more money for another engine. This entire situation is unacceptable as a long standing customer of theirs and I don t even reside in the area!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

They installed an aftermarket catback exhaust kit (Invidia R400 that I purchased and brought in) on my civic type R with perfection at a great price. It took a little longer than estimated but the kit wasn't a part-for-part match to the factory exhaust and they didn't cut corners or leave "spare parts." The job was a little more difficult than anticipated, but the price did not change and it was done with all the care and precision of doing it myself. I'll be coming back for anything and everything my Honda dealer does not offer. At the last visit the only payment they accepted was cash and they did not take appointments, but those are trivial inconveniences for the price and quality of service delivered.

I wish I could share an experience with you but it can't even get in. They expect you to wait in the driveway for an hour just to see the counter person so they can look at your car.As a disabled person I can't wait outside in the heat and don't think I should sit in my running car for that long.I understand COVID means one 1 person in the tiny front office at a time but they should be doing appointments to stagger arrivals. The bays were full and 3 people were waiting in the driveway when I arrived.I guess I'll just have to spend my money somewhere that takes appointments.

I needed a new exhaust pipe and muffler basically from the catalytic converter all the way back on an older 2006 car. They had it done within a few hours. The welds are perfect and it looks like new. I was hesitant to go into a muffler shop for this because I thought it would be very expensive but it was less than $300 for me. I definitely recommend going here if you are in a situation where you don t need an exact factory replacement or you just want your car to stop being extremely loud on the road.

Noticed I had a hole in my muffler and I took my truck to Velasquez and they instantly threw my car on the lift to inspect it. The guy mentioned it was the muffler only and would change it in 20 minutes and cost under a 100. Great place, good work and price. Overall great experience!

Left me on hold for 20 min . I was the parking lot watching the mechanic hold long personal conversations. While I am on hold waiting for him to give a around about price. But he never came to the phone to speak with me

Make sure you only go there for welding or mufflers. The overheating light went on for my car so I took it in. They said it needed a new radiator, so I agreed to pay for it. Once the job was completed, the receptionist changed the agreed upon price and the overheating light would come back on. After coming back, I talked to the mechanic and he said it was fine and the light would soon turn off because it was a malfunction and the car temperature wasn t overheating. I used the car a few days later and it overheated on the highway after a drive for 4-6 miles. They really don t know what they re talking about.

Check engine light went on and they fixed it for $120. A week later it comes on again and they tell me it is going to be $500 for a leak in the EVAP system and some other stuff now, but couldn't tell me where the leak was. I took it somewhere else and it ended up being a $40 thermostat that needed to be replaced. Glad I didn't pay them the $500 to fix something that wasn't even broken!

I went to this location to finish the brake job the Crest Hill location could not do that they started. After a bad experience with the other location, this location on Jefferson, fixed the issue promptly and professionally. Also, to make up for the issues of the other location, they only charged me 20 bucks. As they are a franchise and didn't need to do that, I will be bringing them my work from now on.Update. Only bring vehicle in for basic things. 2k later and there are more issues with my coolant system than when I brought it in. That's right. After 2k. There are more dash lights on now then when I brought first it in. Mechanic says he doesn't know how to fix the issue.

Worst place ever !!! DO NOT GO HERE !!! I replaced brakes , rotors, and wheel barrings . Most places give warranties for a year or 24 months , but not this place . Their warranty is 6 months only . Prices are cheap I guess thats why most people go there. But Ive been in to this place pretty much every 2-3 months due to the part they have replaced only to come in again after they have "fixed" the problem again !!! Do Not Waste your time there . They also take forever to fix a part . very unprofessional receptionist as well. I could barely understand her when i said sorry i didn't understand she would get mad !! I wouldn't even give it 1 star rating !!

All the cars I have had since I been in Joilet I've taken to then since I found out about them. The cool this is they always show me the work that needs to hey done. Also they don't unnecessarily work too. Very honest.

After spending $460 on rear rotors, pads and bearings, they finally figured out the real problem. They want another $540 for a drive shaft. Don't take your business here - go down the street to Auto Doc (AD), you'll get a knowledgeable diagnosis and honest repairs at AD.And for some reason, the woman at Velasquez is always asking to be paid in cash. I'm sure she and the mechanics are pulling some fast one on the owner.

I needed a "flex valve"? For my exhaust.. they fixed it the same day within an hour or so! My car runs little new now!! They were very economical!! Irecommend them for anyone needing services!

Good Afternoon everyone, I've been reading all the comments that have been said about this shop. Thanks for the good and bad comments people have left. I remember all the people who have talked bad about this shop and maybe we have committed errors but at last we find a solution to the problem. We do our best to satisfy each person and complete their standards. Sometimes we last a long time because we want to be sucure about our job that we are doing.Thanks for preferring our services

They lied about the service that was done to my automobile saying work was done First i did not authorized repair or replacement of a fuel pump i told them not to do anything to my automobile second,the keys were locked up in automobile for six days and the did not let me know. I had get a friend to take a spare key over to the shop to open the door for them. After all of this the automobile wouldn't start and the shop wants to charge me 420 dollars for repairs that where NOT DONE. TO ALL THAT NEEDS WORK PERFORMED ON THERE automobile DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO Velasquez mufflers and auto repairs they lie just trying to get your money. They need to be reported to the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU I PLAN TO DO THAT I AM A 72 YEAR OLD MAN ON A FIXED INCOME AND SICKIY HEART PROBLEMS PLUS I MAY HAVE CANCER IN MY KIDNEYS, AND LIVER.

They replaced a thermostat but left the bolts tightened and the housing unit loose and the hose was disconnected and all the coolant was gone. Took it to get fixed again and still was overheating and smoking. This is not the first time we have had problems.

****DO NOT COME HERE!!!!****My father dropped off his car here because he thought he needs a fuel pump. they locked the keys in the car! So my uncle went to give them the spare and when they turned the key, the car actually ran like a new car. It wasn't the fuel pump it was the key he was using. Long story short we told the girl NOT TO WORK ON THE CAR... They did anyways and now are trying to charge him! They are rip offs and not good.

They do great work and they are by far the cheapest. Yes theirs some bad reviews by ppl that probably expect expect to much and probably complain about everywhere. I've been here a bunch of times for exhaust work and have never been disappointed. And remember NO business is perfect

Only accept cash so their prices are lower than others. I ve only had my brakes changed and my brake calipers replaced. Usually done within 3 hours and there is a McDonalds nearby as well as a pond to sit and wait

I have returned there four times after having my brakes fixed there. Each time they say they cant hear sqeaking from the brake job they performed.After the last time I went to the other Valesqeuz and son and they confirmed that my brakes sounded bad but informed me that they are not all connected and that if they worked and fixed them I would have to pay for it. Ultimately saying that my warranty is only good at the shop where the work was done.Unfortunately I just went back to them and once again it was not sqeaking and they could find nothing wrong. Will be going to get them checked and return with what needs to be repaired. Maybe then something will be done.
