!!!!!!SCAMMER ALERT!!!!Jerry promises cars to get done but he doesn t do any work on the cars. He had my dads mustang in his shop and was supposed to modify the rear end and rebuild the motor. Motor is leaking oil all over the place. He won t fix anything after I told him all the problems.I know 2 other people that paid him in full and they had to pull out their cars because NO WORK has been done.He will take your money and do nothing but lie to you.DO NOT bring your car there. You will be paying for expensive storage!!

Gave him $8,000 two years ago because Jerry was supposed to send my engine out for a rebuild. He claimed to start on it a couple times but never touched it. Now it is in storage (off site) and he is (admittedly)Behind on his rent there.He promised me last week I would get my car back on Saturday. Saturday turned into I promise it will be in your driveway on Monday Still no car and I am positive his check will bounce.He is good at ignoring or putting you off.If you are thinking of using him for any type of extensive work, you might want to think twice.He has dozens of cars to fix, one mechanic and an empty bank account.He might be a good mechanic but a terrible businessman.When i told him I want my car and money back, he told me he was going to sue me .Stay away!!Update. Luckily found out where my car was parked and was able to pay $500 in back rent to get it out. Got the keys the next day from Jerry (who is going to sue me because he considers this slander). In parting, I got Jerry s famous It s all going to be taken care of on Monday line. 4 weeks later, Still no money to cover the check he wrote me for the work he never started

Brought my Grand National to them during covid after blowing the motor literally to pieces, Jerry and the guys got my car back together and found the parts to do it when everyone else said they were unobtanium It s a shame I see a lot of reviews here about not answering the phone, or time it s taken to get things done Well you can chat on the phone all day but that doesn t get cars fixed now does it? And as for time for repair, C mon your talking about 30-50+ year old vehicles that parts literally have to be tracked down our scoured for I mean Jesus in my case they literally had to find a new engine block and start from scratch Pre-covid that wasn t easy!!!Services: Electrical, Auto brake repair, Engine repair, Brakes

Please Beware! Don't be fooled! Jerry is extremely nice however lacks integrity, honesty, and communication. 1 year and 3 months of my truck in his shop, he had lied to me several times and had not completed the work and asked me to take down an honest review in exchange for free work.Feb, 10 2022, I dropped a vehicle off for the removal of front and rear leaf springs and add coil over suspension which he said should take a month or two . After six months of countless calls, respectfully being blown off, I decided I had enough and showed up unannounced to see the progress . I found the shop appearing to be overbooked, full of cars, and when I asked to see my vehicle, I was taken to a storage facility down the street and found none of the suspension repairs had been touched. I picked up my vehicle in August of 2022 and wrote a review on my experience.Two weeks later after seeing the reviews, Jerry reached out and wanted to "make things right". I told him to treat other customers with respect, communication and honestly and make things right for them and I'll go about my way and find another shop. Jerry then said if I took the review down, he would do the repairs for free. Like a fool, I agreed to take it down and on August, 22 2022, I sent the vehicle back to his shop. 7 months later, March 2023, I visit the shop to find no work had started. He asked for more time until the end of April.One year and three months later, May 2, 2023, I picked up the truck for good and blame myself for not being more proactive in staying on Jerry. He had not touched the rear suspension at all. As an insult, he removed my 2 front shocks, left the leaf springs, and put coil overs in the shocks place thus not switching the suspension to a coilovers I have screenshots of our conversations and pictures of how he did the shocks.Lastly, Jerry said would send me the rear coil overs in the mail. That has yet to be seen. All and all, my experience showed me that Jerry is a lier and will smile in your face. I am a first responder and if he will do it to me, he will do this to anyone. Please be careful doing business. I would not recommend it.

The owner, Jerry Raub is nothing but a thief and a fraud. He will take your money, not order parts (like he says he will do), and discussed prior and refuse and ignore calls, texts, and emails in order try and get my money back. The so called business is a scam!! Stealing your money and not thinking anything of it. Some say he's the greatest. Yea right, the greatest CON ARTIST. He should be OUT OF BUSINESS and in jail. ***Jerry is still defrauding his customers. Do not trust him. He will take your money and keep pushing you off till you decide NO MORE. I don't need your scam service. There are plenty of reputable businesses that would gladly treat you with the respect so deserved. This guy simply does not care about having a great business. His own employees even walked out on him.Stay away from this company and him. He thinks he can hide but he is sadly mistaken. Just a punk! Hope KARMA bites ya sooner than later. I bring my daily driver to hot rods house of power whenever there is something wrong with her . Jerry and his crew do a great job diagnosing her ... They're honest and don't leave me guessing.... Was told by another shop I needed new a head and gaskets,they were wrong!! I feel like cuz I was a women on my own they tried to burn me....I had a small barely visible leak in a hose that ran to my water pump , Jerry and his crew found it and fixed it and even threw in a new water pump (for the same price discussed prior to fixing ) ... I have taken all of my cars to hot rods house of power to b fixed and I'm never disappointed or feel like they are being dishonest like others I have been too.... They have fixed brakes, fuel pump, done oil changes, among whatever else I have needed for an honest price .... I have even sent my friends to him to have their cars fixed.... Highly recommend these guys... Honesty is hard to come by ...Services: Engine repair, Brakes

Jerry and his crew have done great work on both cars I have brought to them, one being a Sierra Duramax Diesel. Jerry recently honored warranty work on front rotors with no problem. Friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled!

Interesting the reviews got better after a barrage of bad ones. Here s the thing, we brought our vette in to have the engine rebuild in May of 2022. Gave him $7k upfront as well as all the parts. Went with a local guy seemed legit. Lots of cars in the driveway. We reach out after 4 mos came and gone, said the machine shop had it still. October rolls around haven t heard from him we reach out, machine shop still has it. We decide to move out of state. we stop in the shop to let him know a few days after Christmas, he says can t save your block give me $2k I can get you new one. My husband said you sure? They aren t making them anymore. He assured us. We move 8 hours away. I go back in Feb it s been ordered, great where did your order it from. Can I see the receipt? He told me the business doesn t work like that. His words not mine. Demanded an update by end of day, crickets. March says it will be done in 30 days. April rolls around I go in the shop again lies again and says it s ordered. May rolls around nothing. My husband is now fed up. Submits a BBB complaint Jerry, I assume, gets it in the mail and threatens my husband that he s going to put his car on the side of the road. I know he won t do this, because all the cars that were in the driveway when we dropped the car off a year ago were sitting there with no work done. Some inoperable and the vette was 2 rows back. But my husbands drives up and misses three days of work because, like I said we moved out state and he did not want this man doing anything more to the car. Plot twist, Jerry never ordered the block. Sounds a lot like misappropriation of funds. Give him $2k for a block and find out he never ordered and never refunded it to us hmm. We will be taking him to court. It s sad really because all Jerry needed to do was be honest and stay in touch with us to let us know what was going on. Instead he lied, took our money and didn t do what was asked. We support local businesses. It s so disappointing when folks get in over their head and can t be honest about it. Whether it was health concerns, family troubles etc, doesn t give anyone the right to treat others badly and take their money. Jerry posted a set of headers for sale, I talked with him on the phone, we agreed on a price, I sent the money..... four weeks no headers, no documents of shipment, NO REFUND even though he agreed to send me the refund. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS GUY!!!!! Gave one star to allow the post!UPDATE!!!! 10-17-23 STILL NO HEADERS OR REFUND AS PROMISED!!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS GUY!!!!!!!

Jerry and the guys are the Best!!!!!They took great care of my car and did the work agreed to and didn t take forever to complete. I will definitely and for sure have more vehicles worked on by them and will and have referred other people to them. Keep up the good work!!!!!!

The biggest rip-off in the Chicagoland area!!!! Till this day they still have my car, ive had it there since JANUARY FOLKS...this man doesnt answer the phone, unless you call from an unknown number and then he doesnt answer that number! Said he can change my motor but still hasnt yet. We paid half the deposit and now he is in hiding. He claims we can deduct 30 dollars a day for work unfinished since last friday but he still hasnt answered the phone!! And the police said they cant do anything about it will be leaving a review every week until i get my car!!!

Do not do business with shop. A friend of mine who is a first responder who had a vehicle there from February 2022 to August 2022 and he did nothing. Then when the vehicle was picked up, a honest review was posted. Jerry asked if he coud make it right and do repairs for freein exchange to remove the review. From August to april this year, he still did nothing. Do not use!!!

I have had multiple cars fixed and have sent a lot of people to them for repairs. During Covid and even now parts are a big problem to locate, unfortunately waiting is the hardest part of having old cars repaired. They wouldn t be in business if they were not taking care of business.

Had my car for 5 months. The only thing fixed was my exhaust pipe tail hanger. Brought car in for dash board guages. Replaced the speedo cable and even that is not working correctly. I was charged 450 dollars. No idea why. Once you can get them to respond to your call they are very nice but empty promises only go so far. DO NOT PATRONIZE HOT RODS HOUSE OF POWER. JERRY RAUB IS A CROOK AND A CON MAN! HE NEEDS TO HAVE HIS BUSINESS LICENSE REVOKED, AND BE PUT INTO PRISON. HE STOLE $9,000 FROM ME. HE COST ME $17,000 IN TOTAL DAMAGES. HIS SCAM IS TO HAVE PEOPLE PAY HIM LARGE SUMS OF MONEY UP FRONT. HE TAKES THEIR CARS AND HOLDS THEM IN STORAGE WITH ZERO INTENTIONS OF DOING ANYTHING TO THEM. HE KNOWS THAT AFTER A YEAR THE CUSTOMER WILL COME AND DEMAND THEIR CAR BACK. YOU MIGHT GET YOUR CAR BACK (IF HE CAN FIND IT, OR IT HASN'T BEEN IMPOUNDED). BUT WHEN YOU ASK HIM FOR YOUR MONEY HE SAYS "I TALKED TO MY LAWYER". WHICH IS A LIE, THIS LAZY POS CAN'T AFFORD A LAWYER.

i had an issue with my horn and a warning light that was on about 2 weeks ago.i was referred to hot rods house of power by both my son in lawssince they had work done by them a few times already.they were able tofix my issues and after a couple of weeks everything is still ok.prices were very fair,my wife and i will be bringing our cars in for service in the future.i would highly recommend them.
