Beware: Firestone in Joliet - A Disappointing ExperienceRating: I recently visited Firestone in Joliet to get air in my tire, but what followed was an unsettling experience. Upon inspection, they claimed that all four tires were riddled with nails and staples, rendering them irreparable. Shockingly, they presented me with a bill totaling $1318.12. Feeling suspicious, I sought a second opinion at Belle, just down the street.At Belle, I encountered honesty and integrity. They confirmed that only two tires required attention. Remarkably, they repaired one tire free of charge, as per their motto: if it's fixable, it's free. The other tire had sidewall damage, precluding repair, but Belle didn't push me to purchase a replacement from them.This stark contrast between Firestone and Belle left me deeply disappointed. It raises concerns about Firestone's integrity and prompts me to question what else they might have misled me about. It's evident that Firestone prioritizes profit over honesty, earning them the unfortunate label of "snakes" in my book. Beware and seek a second opinion before entrusting Firestone with your vehicle.

I was told with my purchase of two tires and an oil change that I would also get a free tire alignment. This was the deciding factor as to why I purchased tires from Firestone. However, it seems I was misinformed, and free tire alignment actually meant free alignment check. I was given excuses as to why I must have misunderstood, and wasn t even given an apology after I was denied the tire alignment. As someone who isn t familiar with cars, this feels very predatory. Would not recommend taking your car here.

Techs were very thorough with the inspection, did not try to sell me on anything thing I did need, the Manager did a great job going over the results. This is my 3rd time there and will go back when needed.

Fantastic shop that does everything except transmissions. Very friendly and helpful staff. You can sometimes hear them singing and goofing around in the back, which I LOVE. This was also the shop my in-laws used for many, many years and I can see why. They'll get my business as long as I'm in town.

I scheduled an appointment for an alignment, and gave them all of the information for the vehicle. After arriving on time to an empty storefront, it took 20 minutes for anyone to help me, and within 2 minutes they told me they can't align a vehicle with lane departure. Standard base model equipment for the last 10 model years of my car.

I been a customer of Firestone for years. Living in Alabama it was my go to for my auto needs. I was very disappointed when I went to this location for a simple oil change and was turned around and refused service for no reason. It was 3pm and they close at 6pm. I m very disappointed at how unprofessional the guy was refusing to service my car. Something I got in Alabama

Decent price for an oil change. I did have an appointment and it still took about an hour so I took away one star. There was a couple people in there who seemed pretty upset about something that happened with their vehicle (I didn t get the story) but the guy working the front handled it pretty well. I d recommend going here over Jiffy Lube if you can swing it.

If it was possible to give them 0 stars I would. Left my vehicle 8am this morning, I called them mid day and they told me they would call me back because they had not inspected it yet. I showed up at 5pm and they said they had just finished inspecting it and that they had cleaned off the corrosion in the battery and they did not. I purchased a battery and corrosion kit from them a few months back. They did not clean it nor did I get a report for the vehicle inspection. Very unprofessional

They are great, great work,on my vehicle..They resolved a problem that was created by NTB. Their mechanic Steve was very knowledgeable, on issues with my vehicle..George the manager was very fair and understanding, he was honest with pricing. They've earned my customer service from here on out..Keep up the great work..

Do not use this location for your car maintenance. I have been dealing with them for almost a week now. I originally came here for an oil change and them to check my tires because my tire pressure light came on. They said I had a nail in my tire and needed a patch. The next day after the patch, my tire was completely flat. I ordered a new tire, replaced my flat tire with my spare, and drove it over. They then said my tire that had a flat had a bent rim. I asked them how that was possible, the dude in the front register said whoever patched my tire must have missed that. THEY WERE THE ONES WHO PATCHED IT. I then went to go buy 2 new rims for my tires because they said you should probably get both back ones replaced so that there isn't a balance issue with replacing one rim. I bought the two rims and brought them back to Firestone the next day. After an hour they told me that the rims don't fit my vehicle and I should get them from their partner site. I then took the rims back to the place I bought them from and they said the rims fit and put them on at no charge. I will never go to firestone again, maybe it's just this location but I'm going to pass on this nonsense happening again.

It's hard to find a good shop to take your car these days. Where you can get quality service at a good price. Firestone on rt.30 has been my shop for about 5 yrs. Now. They have been professional and courteous every time I have been there. The front desk personnel have been great. Keep up the great work!

Had to wait 2 hours for an oil change and when I was expecting to pay around $22 for the service I was shocked the total was $33. I commented that I never have paid the amount for an oil change. After talking to the manager the next business day, no apology offered for the experience of the wait, however, it was explained that it is a corporate store. I was then offered the refund of the difference. As much as I can appreciate the gesture, I plan to return to Angilo's Firestone.

I've had mixed experiences with this particular fire stone in the past few years that I've used them. It really all depends on who you talk to. Most of the staff is pretty friendly and straightforward, but every once in awhile you can get someone was a bit grumpy. Their prices are higher than most other places, but their work seems to be good. I have a lifetime wheel balance and alignment, and I have it done once every few months. When they sell you the service they will tell you that it's as long as you own your car, but when you come to get it done you'll find that it's as long as you own the tires. that means if you switch tires your lifetime wheel balance is gone. Like I said, it all depends on who you talk to. All in all it's not like they're a bad shop, but they can certainly stand to be a little more competitive price wise.

I advise people to take their vehicles somewhere else for repair after being treated rudely and lack of mechanical competence of staff running place. I called to make an appointment for a simple routine auto service and I was talked to like I didn t know what I was talking about and told couldn t be done!! Went to another local shop and no hassle, got my car s routine service in and out in 15 minutes with no appointment. They don t know what they are doing at Firestone or how to do common simple auto service. That s a Red Flag and will never do business there again!

Although this was my go to for several years, I have to say the experience here has declined in value and customer service. Scheduled an appointment on the app as I always do. Waited for a confirmation email, which I did get stating my requested appt. Was accepted and it was confirmed. The guy who helped me, stated no there s nothing for u here. I showed him my email confirmation for the exact store I was at, when it was accepted, and when it was confirmed by his store staff. Showed him on the app too. It was the same info. This gusano had the nerve to just keep denying denying denying and suggested I made a mistake and scheduled it at another store. This is after I show him the facts WITH HIS STORE s ADDRESS ON IT. How r u gonna say that when all evidence is in your face? And then suggest i must be mistaken and didn t know how to schedule? If it was glitch in your system then just say that, apologize for the mix up and offer a new appointment whether today, tomorrow, or the next day or week idc. But he didn t offer any of that. Just kept saying I must ve made a mistake. Didn t give a s**** about offering a new appt. Forget this location, they have no clue what they are doing.

Set up appointment for a fuel injectors cleaning yesterday, different guy answers phone today tell him I m running late and he says they will diagnose my car.??? Then asked me if I had engine light on? I just wanted my injectors cleaned because it s never been done, I m not looking to have my car diagnosed or any of this.... just clean my system.. not sure if they want more money somehow or if they are not wanting to do any work at all? thanks I ll look elsewhere for now on.

A bit pricey, but staff is very nice and informative. Not condescending, explain issues clearly, and flexible on services offered. I have never felt pressured to spend more than I can afford on services I may not need. My vehicle is always serviced in the time frame promised .

I've been going to this location for 4 years and in the last 6 months service has fell down the crapshoot. Today I stopped in for a quick air check and was told I needed new tires without even inspecting them. The technician knew nothing of my cars service record and just jumped on selling me something. Little does he know is all four tires are less than 6 months old, one is brand new, less than a week old.I know what my wheel problem is and it is not the tires, educate your staff to not make such recommendations without inspection.

First time going here this past weekend for a quick oil change on my wifes suv. They told me it needed a air filter for thirty some dollars I said no I'll do it myself, he said well make sure cause it's bad. So I went today bought one from the dealer for 9$ went to change it and it's almost brand new looks just as white as the one I bought!. So they tried to scam me out of thirty dollars or so bad business first and last time I go there!

Excellent service! I brought my car in for a 4-wheel alignment, at Noon 1/28/19, since I had replaced my lower ball joints and outer tie-rods. The job was completed and I was on my way out in 50 minutes and that included my car sitting outside for 10 minutes before the ASE Certified Mechanic brought it in to perform the service! Tanya was the Service Writer for the day (on loan from the Bolingbrook Firestone store) and she could not have been more professional or pleasant. I normally do all of my own automotive repairs and only let someone else touch my car if it's tires, alignments, bodywork, or A/C issues (to protect the environment), so needing to come and have my car worked on bothers me. That being said, I can honestly say that I will bring my cars back here with full confidence.

We had our car serviced here many times. This last oil change however the rear cover that protects the oil pan and engine area flew off while driving down the turn pike in Ohio. Not good. Took it back to Firestone when we arrived back in town. They stated they would replace it, two weeks later still no cover. I know that this may be a part that is hard to find perhaps but all this time the area under my vehicle is unprotected, not good. So I am still waiting for this to be cleared up......to be continued

I had an issue with my vehicle on a Sunday. They ordered parts and went to go pick it up in Chicago the same day. They even stayed late to finish the job! If I could give ten stars, this place would get it! A big shout out to service manager Hensler and mechanic Steve at the Joliet location!!!

Going to a mechanic has always felt like going to the dentist. Today I had the greatest experience working with George and Steve. I felt like they were really looking out for me and my car. I am going to insist on my family and friends going to the Plainfield firestone and will adamantly insist as a recommendation. Thanks so much.

Went in for an oil change, had a coupon for 19.99 they charged me $32. Said I had to pay extra because my car took 6 quarts of oil instead of 5. Really that much extra for 1 quart of oil?!?!?! Also told me I had a nail in my tire and it wasn't repairable ask me to buy a new tire. I told them no because I had a warranty on them and took my car to Discount Tire to have it fix. Discount checked all my tires and said there was nothing wrong with any of them. Do not go here trying to scam people.

I made appointment for wheel alignment, I had confirmation and 5 minutes before schedule, when I was 2 min from their store, they called me : we can not do your alignment. i wasted my time and fuel. Never make appointment there.

Had my truck tires rotated about a month ago and I asked to be ensured that lug nuts would be torqued to specs. 140 ft lbs. Got home and had to replace a couple of lug nuts and found that they were all over torqued excessively!If I would of had a flat on road probably could not have been able to loosen them!

I like firestone but when you make an appointment online and keep getting bumped to the next time and finally settling on a time and a guy calls you saying he can't do it except for this and that all while sounding like he doesn't care if you go there and really does want to do any work. Great customer service. Your not the only game in town gotta work on that customer service or not I guess.
