Been taking my 2008 Honda Civic here for years. They've always taken good care of it and always been happy with the results. They're often very busy, so be prepared for that, but they're busy because a lot of people trust them.

Stay Away from this place! The mechanic/manager Darren is a liar and scammer!I brought my bmw there for a coolant leak . The diagnosis was a hairline crack in radiator charged 1700 for a new one. I picked it up on feb 1st the next day my lowe antifreeze light pops on so i try to open my hood it wont open he Darren jammed it shut out allignment. I took it to my brothers mechanic friend at Patrick Cadillac he got hood open put car up on lift to show me that the actual leak was still there and coming from a cracked thermostat housing and never needed a radiator in the first place. I call Darren to explain it to him he says I am not playing this he said who said game with you and hung up on me!DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STAY AWAY FROM AUTO MEDICS & THEY ARE SCAMMING LIARS ESPECIALLY Darren HE IS THE WORST MECHANIC IN ALL OF WILL CTY.

To all the people of JolietIllinois Do not for any reason go to this place auto Medics I took my car for a brake job picked it up and drove home to a wobbly feel and car shaking all over the place I was just to enter onto 55 off of Jefferson pulled over on ramp and the wheel was completely loose spinning around around the lugnuts were off and gone with the wheel barely staying inside the fender wheel well. Darren was the mechanic . If I entered onto 55 I could of been in in a terrible deadly accident ! I strongly RECOMMEND do not go to Auto Medics because tour life may depend on it!

Had a fullsynthetic oilchange done and few months later giant oil spill was put on my driveway... found. Out wrong oil filter was put on.. tried to resolve it with Darren but he refused to even let me finish speaking before shutting me out.$100 oil change cost them a long time customer who's all friends and family go. Rich would've handled this InA way better matter even if I was wrong. I've been going there for many years and even have my companies vehicles go there. We will not be going there no longer

took a fusion in for a water pump kept it for 3 and half mons kept giving excuse after excuse why not done bunch of lies picked it up was told check engine light is on need cam sensors was told when i took car there it ran good just had a coolant leak was told water pump and timing belt needed changed 3and half months later piked car up ran worse than when i took it in charged me 1200.00 dollars the next day took it to ford to get fixed right ford said timing belt was installed wrong charged me 1500.00 to fix it right i was a long time customer when rich was there it was a great shop now a bunch of lies and a dump they should close up shop mechanics there dont have a clue what is going on

Do not take your car here. The owner was belligerent, rude and threatened to physically assault my husband. They did not complete the work they quoted for but charged me the same price. They didn t tell me they didn t complete the work until after I signed and paid. They left unsafe parts on my car. The owner yelled at his son for telling me the parts were left on the car. That he shouldn t have said anything I would have never known. Do not trust this place. They refused to give me written result for diagnostic that were done and would not give me an estimate on the cost for additional repairs. I have never been treated so poorly before. I literally sat in my car and just cried afterwards. What an awfully way to treat people.Service: Brakes

Feel remiss in failing to do this sooner. AUTO MEDICS is the best. I have had the work on my car done by Auto Medics for years. They have fixed everything from the radiator to the back windshield wiper. I keep coming back when I need help. They check out the problem, explain what's wrong and give you a cost up front. Their costs are reasonable. Their work reliable.As a woman, many repair shops treat you like you're an idiot. Auto Medics does not. They listen and explain what they think is wrong. I trust them completely. They take good care of my '06 car and me.I recommend AUTO MEDICS to everyone.Services: Electrical, Brakes, Air conditioning, Oil change

don't know how to speak to people. asking for a quote on a common Issue on cars and couldn't even give me a ballpark estimate on what jobs like that usually lie between . shows the experience. then when i proceeded to ask more questions , this guy told me he that he was going to hang up and answer another call like my call wasn't important. Didnt even take my car here and from that experience wouldn't even want to .

This is my second review, I just had a sensor fixed in my Jeep and again had great service !! Review number 2 . Had my jeep worked on with a different company and came in to have shocks installed , the head mechanic at auto medics instantly notified me of the shotty unprofessional unsafe work the other company performed and pulled me aside and showed me personally. Setting up a new appointment with auto medic to make my car safe again . Seems like some people still care about the customer these days bravo auto medics and staff!Services: Electrical repair, Steering & suspension repair

Very unprofessional and rude business. I would not recommend them to anyone. Was charged over $500 for a check engine light check.30 mins was leaving you hanging all day? You became extremely rude and and charged me $500 for an 80 service after you found out I was taking my service somewhere else, To a company that respects their clients. When I called back about getting that $500 credited you hung up on me rather than refunding my money for a service you didn t do. Keep trying to spin it however you d like to try and make you look better I hope all potential customers see this and decide to take their business elsewhere.

My vehicle was stolen in September. Kia parts were on back order and still are. I called Rich because he has done work for myself and other family members in the past. My car was sitting in Kia parking lot for almost 4 months! Rich told me to get it towed to his place off business and hat I would have my car in 4 days! But NO . I got my car back in ONE day! Auto medics Joliet has never failed me! Thanks AGAIN Auto medics!!!

Honest, professional mechanics. I don't understand all the complaints. They are upfront and honest, maybe a little too blunt according to some, but if that means my vehicle will be properly repaired, and not hack-jobbed they have my business.Update: I will never return to my old mechanic again; they kept blaming the cause of my front end issues on misalignment and bad tires. Darren explained why my old shop was run by a bunch of idiots, and properly fixed my vehicle. My old shop overlooked a worn front wheel bearing, torn boot on steering rack, amongst other things that an amateur mechanic would have spotted immediately had they taken the time to properly diagnose my car. My 19 year old car with 215K miles drives like new! Thank you!Services: Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance

I owe Rich a review from years ago! I never did don t know why but I m truly sorry because he service my 09 Corolla and my Wife s Murano and always gave us GOOD prices and quality work. Rich once went way beyond on letting me Borrow his work truck so I can make it to school while they fix my Corolla and that I do Appreciate it because what shop lets you borrow their vehicle to a client with no extra charge! That time was on a Saturday which they we re waiting for me to close and pick up my car Plus the truck was Brand New at that time, Thanks Rich

I went in there in November 2021 for a battery change on a 2012 Chrysler 200. They quoted me 165$ over the phone for the battery the night before. We go in the guy at the desk tells us it will be 280$ we did not have that. They told us they would do it for 190$ we agreed. Darren the guy with the pony tail was very nice and generous I will say. Well to get to our battery they have to have the front left wheel off. The guy tells us someone else broke our wheel lock key and he couldn t get the lug nuts off, so he found an additional way to get to the battery. (However we saw him using a impact for a very long time on our car) A week later we take it to a shop to get the locks replaced with a new key, and we come to find out the front left tire only has two lug nuts on it. Not even across from each other , right next to each other. COMPLETE SAFTY ISSUE. They sent us out with a wheel with only two lugs holding it to the car! When I called to let them know , the guy on the phone started getting ignorant with me saying okay so what do you want?! Excuse me? Never again DO NOT GO HERE!!YOU DID A GOOD DEED? You sent us away with two lug nuts holding the wheel to our car? Get off your high horse you messed up and cannot admit it! Please give me a break! 32 years of service in Joliet? Maybe it s time to retire DO NOT GO HERE!!Service: Battery

No bull, straight to the point, and honest.I'm sure many of us all have the same feeling when dealing with an auto mechanic. Theres that question of, "can I really trust this person?" It's an uneasy feeling when so many places take advantage of customers who don't know much about the ins and outs of something as complex as a vehicle.But let me put your mind at ease.This is the ONLY place I trust 100% to tell me the truth. Time and time again they have done a fantastic job and gone far beyond what others will do to get things done right. Their prices are hard to beat, and they have no problem taking you into the work area to explain in detail what is wrong.Their detailed methodology about how they conduct their work is by far the best I've seen. You can bet I'm a customer for life.I've had everything from wheel bearings to the timing belt system done here. The crew are top notch.I love my car to death. I wouldn't take her anywhere else.

Horrible customer service starting with the owner down to the techs. I wish I had read some the reviews prior to taking my car to this establishment. I would've risk driving my car home and finding another business to do the job. I'm honestly experiencing the same issue prior to them replacing my master cylinder. Great customer service brings customer back and creates a level of trust. But this place didn't provide a great experience. I plan to have a second opinion.-The owner's response and attention to my dissatisfaction speak for itself (with all the explanation marks).- A loaner was given to me for less than 2 hours as a way to get my business. It was explained to me that there were only 2 workers and it would take an hour before someone to test drive my car ( at this time it was 4pm and the business close at 6pm). Initially, I had planned to leave and return within the hour, since I only live 8 mins away from the establishment. I left my car overnight and on the day of the service, a loaner was not issued to me.-The owner was rude when he returned my call at 5:14PM. I was trying to get an understanding and he stated, "just come in and return the car Honda (loaner car) and we will talk then". I arrived to the establishment and the owner wasn't there. I had to speak with the two technicians who were at the desk. When they saw that I wanted time to think about, then they said I had to pay $60. Which the owner never discussed with me.-dissatisfied customer.

Was in Joliet and my belt came apart because of my own laziness. Rich called tow truck for me and got me in and took care of it. Gave me very fair price. Loved the responses to the bad reviews. Ive been in service industries for years and alot of people you cant make happy no matter what you do for them. These guys are good mechanics. I could tell by listening to their conversations. Thanks guys

Rich and the entire team has always treated us very well and always has done an awesome job on all the family's cars and always goes the extra mile to keep the costs to only what is necessary. This has been the only auto shop that doesn't try to push unnecessary car repairs. They are the most honest shop around. Will always continue to be our family's repair shop.

I called the shop this morning asked for alignment service. The man - Rich told me to drop off the car. When I get there he was on the phone barely listening to me, took my info while on the phone with somebody else. I asked him how much it will cost and whether I need front and rear or the front is enough since I had a front wheel and control arm replaced. He said they have to take a look at it to be able to tell. Fine. 2 hours later I called him and he told me that they have to put on 2 camber bolts and it is going to cost me an extra $120. I told him that I need to think about it and wanted to cancel the job. He then said he will charge me $40 because the car is already on the rack and they did the diagnostics. That is half the regular alignment price of $89.95! (My husband was in Car-X before for an alignment and they never charged him for diagnostics despite the fact that he cancelled the job for unexpected extras). I felt like Rich was taking advantage of me being a woman who doesn't know much about cars. Since I wasn't sure if I really needed those extras and I didn't feel like paying $40 for nothing I told him to get it done. Honest business? Really? If he would have told me that he is going to charge for just letting me know what needs to be done when I dropped off the car, I wouldn't felt cheated. I could just thank him and go some place else. And yes, it bothers me when businesses play the predatory game. Auto Medics, like the doctors office, you never know what it's going to cost you until they are finished with you and its too late to complain. Ladys, let me give you an advise, if you need a mechanic and don't know anything about cars, ask your husband to deal with it or you will pay double. That much about my first and last visit of Auto Medics.

Seriously love this place!They keep me updated and understand as a single mom, i needed my car done asap. with everything that was wrong and the manpower they put into it, it was done within hours.And they offer towing for a fair price.. whats better than that?

They are very unprofessional and poor serviceI took my Lexus SUV there and they told me that I have 2 bad rear break sensor and it will cost 1300.00 I took the same car to an other place they found nothing wrong with rear break sensors how ever front left was bad which causing the light to stay on and it cost me less then 500.00 to fix it saving of 800.00I found this to be way over priced.When I complained he left me a nasty voice mail with extremely abusive wording.Then send me a later to sue me luckily I saved that voice mail.Bottom line is very poor service at this place and way over charged my suggestion take your car to better place there are many good hard working honest people out there then this bunch. I would not even let them touch my bike.

response to owner- this is my only review I m sorry so many other people are dissatisfied with their service from your shop. Going back 4 years for the public to see. I m truly sorry you feel you have to lie to the public. Please show video footage to provide to the public who was screaming. you are held responsible for your own actions not me. You should be ashamed of yourself for getting so out of control. I hope you think about your actions next time you decide to rip someone off.Very disappointed on the way we were treated by this owner and mechanic. I would most certainly not trust my car here in the care of such ever again. Just sharing my experience.Came in for a simple noise the owner Rick told me I was going to need rear shock mount and such work coasting a little under $500. Owner told me mine was broken and that it needed to be fixed asap. I didn t have a good feeling so I trusted my gut. And got a second opinion. I simply Took my car into another shop to have it looked at and have a printed report stating there was nothing wrong but a loose bolt and to have a nice day coasting me $0. I m very thankful to have been lucky enough to not pay 500$ when nothing was broke. When I went back into the shop to cancel my upcoming appointment and let them know what happened the owner immediately raised his voice and yelled and told me to get out. He had a million excuses for his actions. He threatened me and my family he will sue us if given a bad review, in return if keeping our mouths shut. Although you can not sue for an honest review. I see that down below the owner is still in denial and slandering us still calling us out of our names. Which is just proof right there an example of how we re were treated. But two wrongs don t make a right so I will not do that to them. The mechanic also threatened Family member that he was going to knock the smirk off of his face. I m sure like any place he has video cameras and should show the footage of how bad they treated us.. hopefully it s all on camera if they have one. Again we came into this shop very politely and respectful and due to our honesty the got severely defensive as they were just caught doing this to me. We had to file a police report as soon as we left. And we decided to not press charges for the threats due to fear of retaliation. Because of the threats that were made to us. I felt very unsafe and scared. I honestly just hope the owner and his mechanic realize they need to be more appropriate. We were told we are ghetto trash. Seeing that I m very educated I do not take offense to the threats and unprofessional actions of this place. They have now lost the business of us and a few friends. I just recommend to always check reviews before entering a shop for work. As we are not the only people that have been put under this situation.

The staff is friendly and helpful.While I may not like the costs of fixing my vehicles; but that's all part of car ownership. You would be hard press to find another auto repair place that does this quality of work at these prices.

The people are very honest. Hey women great place to go, they won't take advantage of the fact you're a women. They could have done work that didn't need to be done,instead they told me what options you have. I was getting ready to drive 700 miles home with my kid's, they gave us a thumbs up. It's safe.

Been taking my car here since I moved to Joliet about 15 years ago. So I've been going here before the current owners/workers were here. All in all great work and clean waiting room.
