Abby Automotive is a reliable source for all your car repair needs. I stopped in and had them put vanity plate covers on my new car. Chris did an excellent job putting them on the front and back. The screws and the screw covers that came with the plate covers didn t fit correctly. Chris took his time, used his own supplies (longer screws) to make them fit right and secure.The shop is very clean and well organized. They have a comfortable waiting area and are conveniently located on Higgins Road a little ways past the high school. Chris at Abby Automotive was honest, personable, provided great service and a very fair price!If I had another car I would have no problem bringing it in to Chris to service it.Thanks for the excellent customer service Abby!

I had a piece of plastic, possibly a cover or protective piece on the underside of my vehicle hanging down and dragging along the road, I stopped by the dealership on Golf Road but of course they were busy. I brought it down the street to Abby, and Chris briefly paused his current job to roll my car on the rack and fix it, and he didn't charge me for it. Easy fix, I wasn't there even for 15 minutes, but I appreciate the willingness to address it right away. Love the family business level of customer service. Better than dealerships and franchises. A+

Had some issues with my Chevy exhaust system. Took to Chevy to get a quote and they wanted way too much and told me I had to get this and that so I'm like No... Abby automotive is down the street from me so I'm like, "let me check out this Mom and Pop shop". So glad I went there because Chris was able to tell me what was needed and gave me a damn good price and I am truly satisfied... Had my car done in no time, purring like a kitten again! Thank Chris, I appreciate you and you will always get my business. I definitely refer Abby Automotive!

Abby Automotive is truly a breath of fresh air, especially during these crazy times. Chris is extremely competent and fair. I can tell you how many years we looked for a good car guy. We now get both our cars serviced by Chris.Do yourself a favor and go visit Abby Automotive

I had no heat in my car and thought it was the thermostat and antifreeze. Chris brought the car back in 10 minutes and said it was my settings! Showed me what I did wrong and it s working great!You ve earned my business going forward Chris! Thank You ..

Abby Automotive is EXACTLY what you ve been looking for in a local mechanic. Knowledgable, friendly, accommodating, and HONEST!! I couldn t have been any happier with my experience. They had my car in and out with-in a matter of days and guess what it was fixed right THE FIRST TIME. I was in the process of purchasing a vehicle from a local used car dealership and decided to take it to Abby Auto to get it looked over prior to finalizing the deal. Chris and Mike immediately inspected it, ran a full diagnostic, and put the car up on the lift. Despite the car's clean appearance and CarFax report, it turned out to be a mechanical mess and needed several major repairs, estimated to cost thousands of dollars. Chris took me around the car and spent a lot of time explaining each potential problem to me, allowing me to take photos to bring back to the dealership. Based on his advice, thankfully I did not purchase. He saved me a huge headache in the long-run and lots of money. Also, this shop is impeccably clean and so nice inside. Highly recommend. Thanks again Chris and Mike!

I have taken mine and my wife's car to Abby since moving to Hoffman Estates last year. I had my exhaust replaced, and my wife had her air conditioning recharged. We were happy after both visits. My car broke down and I found Abby Automotive within the area of Hoffman Estates, IL. I spoke to Chris who was so gentle, very knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasing to work with. Chris provided me with a tow trucking company to get my car towed to Abby Automotive. (Tow truck company was amazing also) I was able to get my car fixed in the same day which was very helpful to me seen as though I was without a car for about 3 days. I will forever pick Chris and his shop over anyone else! If anyone is ever in need of a mechanic, please trust Chris! Told me not to do a repair because it wouldn't be worth the money with how old the car is. Love honesty in mechanics. Had a pretty extensive exhaust repair done here and the bill seemed pretty fair. Abby Auto has been great. Not only is it conveniently located for me, it has also been a great experience every time I've brought my car in for repair. Chris has been awesome, he and Mike have made repairs to my car a few times and always take the time to explain the issue they've found and how they'd correct it. When a part's needed, it's a simple deposit for the order & then just take it in for the repair when it arrives, which has been speedy. Next time you're debating taking your car into the dealership or are unhappy with your current place, take a chance on Abby. Support a local business and trust repairs are done right. I've been to Abby Automotive for my wife's car and mine; from simple oil changes to more involved front end work.I'm very happy with the work, the cost and the short time he needed the vehicles to complete the work.When we had an HVAC issue in our van, Chris suggested we take it directly to the dealership because they have more experience removing the dashboard.We explained to the dealership what Chris had said and even they were impressed with his honesty and integrity. Apparently most mechanics wouldn't want to pass up that sort of payday and would probably have done damage in the process.I absolutely recommend Abby Automotive.

Don't think five stars is enough to explain my well,,, "experience" with Chris on a Sunday, memorial day weekend. I had an unusual situation, I bought my son a kitten, and the little fellow escaped his crate on ride home and disappeared into car without trace. I tried all night to find kitty, no luck, put food, water, and a fan inside car, and closed garage, no trace. Next day, while driving, heard little kitty crying, still could not locate, started making calls, and leaving mechanics messages about growing dangerous situation it was becoming, with temperatures rising, and no food or water. Chris was an answered prayer, responding to my message and kitty's cries. On his day off and enjoying the birth of his first son just days old, went to shop, and played animal rescue/ mechanic, and was able to save kitty from the center of cars dashboard, and made his name. I drive an old car so am used to having to take my car it from time to time. Having a good mechanic that you can trust is a big comfort and that is definitely the case with Chris/Abby Automotive. The service is prompt, professional and excellent. They are straight forward in reviewing the issue and don't try to upsell you on anything. Great place for your repairs. Conveniently located and upfront on repair times and costs. We have used Abby several times. Brakes, oil changes, timing belt, power steering pump and radiator replacement. They ve handled it all and I ve had no issues after leaving. Uses quality parts. Unlike others I ve used before. Been using another shop for years and decided to give Abbey a try for some front end noise on my Jeep. Chris was very helpful and within the hour had my vehicle up in the air and texted me with a quote with the price out the door . Nothing hidden. Everything was up front and painless. Their service was great and very convenient. Their after-hour drop off and pickup service really worked in my case since I had my father s car towed over there a couple of times and could not pick up by 5pm. Chris did very well in communicating via text about the diagnostic results, process he would take to fix the issue , and making sure I was fine with the total cost before proceeding. He did send over pictures of the area where the issue was. - It greatly helped me get a better idea of what was wrong. Chris also checked back days later to see how the car was doing which I highly appreciate. Definitely recommend their shop!Services: Electrical repair, Electrical, Battery

I can't recommend anyone else ever again after dealing with Chris over at Abby automotive who I was actually referred to by the "audi" dealership across the street. I had bought a higher end vehicle that needed some general maintenance as it had been sitting for awhile before I purchased. He went thru the entire vehicle and found things I would have never realized that were completely unsafe. His honesty is hands down absolutely fantastic! I honesty don't know what I would have done if I was recommended to him. Especially for higher end vehicles you can't just take to a jiffy lube or Firestone place..I strongly recommend Abby automotive to anyone who doesn't truly have a mechanic they can really say "you trust". Thanks again Chris for all you did. And I'll see ya soon for tuneup and oil change

We have been very happy with Abbey Automotive for several repairs and maintenance for the 4 cars in our family. We keep our cars a long time, to high miles so having a reliable, consistent and fair mechanic that explains things, does regular maintenance is important. He has solved numerous check engine lights, replaced headlight connectors ( more than just replacing headlight), solved exhaust leak issues, replaced a heater core, diagnosed oil pressure error message issues and more. Repairs have often been at lower cost than I might have expected. While he sometimes does smaller projects very quickly, I find it helpful to leave the car so he can take time to diagnose, repair, and do maintenance.Services: Electrical repair, Exhaust, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Oil change
