After brining my car to have transmission leak looked at, they wanted 573 dollars to reprogram and solenoid unit replaced. After I declined and bought to another shop. They quickly spotted the power steering cap was missing, I called them, they denied losing it. And they also found six major bolts are missing around the transmission and three loose bolts around transmission pan. I had trouble finding a power steering cap replacement because it was discontinued. Luckily found one in another state that had one left in stock by Chrysler dealership's help. They added on new bolts. Problem solved. Whoever worked at ace transmission service was a disgruntled employee who was hoping to rip disabled guy off ,for unnessescary repairs,has decided not to put anything back on and left it out in the parking lot as if it's piece of trash? I reported, took pictures and will seek to have their business license revoked,closed down,put them out of business. They messed with the wrong guy who had close ties with law firms. Whoever worked on my car needs to be FIRED pronto! As for anyone who considering bringing thier cars there, go somewhere else.

Excellent service with a quick turnaround. Ace Transmission is not a pop up shop, or chain. I called several shops, Ace was the last one - I knew this was the one. I appreciated their straightforwardness, and honesty. They say what they mean, and mean what they say.

I've taken my car here a couple times, and they're definitely one of the better shops in the area. They're always honest too, quoted me for a rebuild, but also said it could wait too. Would recommend for anyone looking for transmission/other car work.Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

This guy s word means nothing. Was given this establishments information on a recommendation from my local mechanic out in Hampshire Illinois. Little bit of a drive for me but I do value my mechanics opinion. I have a 2009 Chevy Express that I drive for work that started shifting extremely hard. Common problem in these 4L80 transmissions. Van has 210,000 miles on it. This is the second rebuild. First one was done at about 85,000 by another establishment in Villa park. I was also please with his work, Ace was just a little closer for me this time. Received the van back a few days ago, 253 miles on it so far and I'm extremely pleased with their work. Junior was extremely responsive and accommodating and the turnaround time was excellent. Brought it in on a Friday had it back the following Wednesday. Spoke to Junior a little bit about the upgrades they do to them and like I said so far so good. The 2/3 shift is a little firmer which is great because I do tow loads with this vehicle. You have peace of mind that you're dealing with a reputable operation here.Thanks Ace!Service: Transmission

If Ace Transmission could get 10+ stars they would and I give 10+ star service. Service is honest, fast and price extremely reasonable. My car is shifting better than I ever have seen or felt and gas MPG up through the roof. I had Ace Transmission rebuild my 2000 Saturn valve body that was badly worn out. This is a repair shop that not out to take your arm, leg, guts and wallet, but repair only what is broken. Ace Transmission you Rock 100%. See you in December for my Tahoe trans and transfer case and rear main seal work too.

Great service, communication, and timeliness! An honest independent shop that fixed a flywheel issue on my car for less than half of what the dealership quoted me. Want to thank Sam in particular for being a great help! Can t recommend highly enough

I never write reviews but I have to tell you about this place. Let me preface by saying this was all my fault. I had transmission issues and brought it in. They diagnosed the problem and I gave them the go ahead to fix. I then found out it was still under warranty. When I called them to say it was still under warranty, they couldn t have been nicer and understood due to the cost associated. It s so nice in this day and age to come across a business that is honest an respectable. Thank you again Ace Transmission and you have earned my business!

I have a Honda Accord 2006 model which was in non-working state. I was told by a car mechanic that the transmission is out of order and need to spend in thousands to get it fixed. Luckily I was referred to Russ at 'Ace Transmission Service' who is a trust worthy and honest gentleman and has 44 years of professional expertise in auto repair. Russ heard me patiently putting aside what my previous mechanic diagnosed, and has evaluated meticulously to figure out the actual problem. He diagnosed it as some short circuit electrical disturbance due to which my car s computer component was unable to recognize the transmission functionality. He quickly resolved the issue along with fixing some minor issues. Now my car is in good running state without having to spend in thousands of dollars. Russ charged me very genuinely. I was referred to this shop by my family. It is family owned and operated. The owners are very knowledgeable, conscientious and trustworthy. It is not easy to find a good shop you can trust. These guys are fantastic! My first experience was for a 2005 Honda Pilot that had the transmission fail after trans. fluid mixed with coolant. The radiator had to be replaced and the trans. had to be rebuilt. The rebuilt transmission continued to work perfectly for the several years that I still owned the vehicle. I have also had a classic Chevy in for brake work and several odds and ends to be repaired including trans. leak. The brakes stopped much smoother and more evenly after Ace completed the work. They went way above and beyond what was expected on the classic car. Definitely a great place to bring your vehicle! Highly recommended.Services: Transmission, Brakes, Oil change

Hello to all that are considering Ace Transmission as an option when getting your vehicle taken care of. This family owned business was exactly what i was looking for when I needed my transmission rebuilt on my 2008 Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Because this a former Detective Issued Vehicle there are certain parts and performance standards that I must have..hence the reason I purchased my beast in the first place. I've had my car back for about a week now and I couldn't be happier. She rides like a dream, matter fact better than new! We even added some upgrades and high performance parts. Good people. Great work. I will recommend this place to anyone who is looking for quality work. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising...the word must get out about this place. DO NOT go with that "_ _ MCO" place for transmission work. They only work on volume not for the people. Ace is the place!!!!

I ve been getting my cars fixed here for many years and have always been very satisfied. The job is always done very well and as well the customer service is phenomenal!! I highly recommend everyone to bring their cars here for any job needed! They ve fixed my ML 55 Mercedes transmition and since then I have made 35K miles and it runs perfectly to this day. I can not relate to any of the negative comments made by others. They never over charge people, are always kind, and get the job done!

I highly recommend ACE Transmission, Inc. to anyone who is looking for a place to bring their vehicle where they can trust that they are not getting getting deceived and that they are working with honest and caring professionals who have your best interest in mind. I purchased a used vehicle that needed some transmission work done that did not show any symptoms at the time of purchase. I specifically worked with Junior who was extremely honest and clear not only about what work needed to be done, but whether or not the work was worth it based on what I paid for the vehicle compared to the cost of the service. Junior gave me clear and honest advice through multiple conversations on the phone and was not pressuring in any way since this was a big decision. His advice and experience working with these vehicles for a long time helped me to make my decision to fix the vehicle and not try to sell it immediately thinking it will be a money pit down the road. Junior also offered to check a couple other major components in the drivetrain to confirm that the transmission fix was worth the time and money to make this vehicle last a very long time. Being a car enthusiast who is very particular about who works on my vehicles, I will be headed back here if there are jobs that I need done that I cannot complete myself.Service: Transmission

Loooooonngggg story short, I have an '03 Tahoe that I drove up from Florida to work for the summer. It broke 325,000 miles this summer. I began to have a a series of horrible grinding noises from the front left end of my car whenever I turned, or was going 35-45 mph. I took it into Firestone, and they charged me over $1k to replace a U-joint and front break pads. Nothing changed. So I had them re check, and THEN they were able to tell me my transfer case was the one making the sounds. Luckily, they referred me to Ace Transmissions. Talked to Junior, dropped my car off for like 35 minutes, he called and said my whole transfer case had leaked all the oil out the rear seal, and obviously it was shot. Incredibly, he was able to find a guy with a remanufactured transfer case, and was able to get me back on the road in like 6 hours from me bringing it into the shop. Freaking awesome Junior, went well out of his way to help explain the problem, and help me fix it.

Fantastic service. My Honda had a bad shudder when driving & was getting worse. Had car in at dealer for another problem & inquired about the shudder and told it was the torque converter. Was like pulling teeth to get information and couldn't get a call back. I contacted Ace Transmission in Hanover Park and spoke with Russ. I knew this Business had been around for many many years. Russ was exceptional. He went over and beyond to explain everything to me and was more than patient with answering all of my questions. I took my car in for a diagnosis and estimate and approved the repair - which was a great decision. This is a family run business and they treat you with great respect. I felt so confident with them. After a few days Russ called to say my car was ready to pick up and the cost was below the estimate. Russ was absolutely amazing and took the time to explain what was done. Very pleased with this family business and highly recommend going there. They are extremely knowledgeable and efficient. 5 stars!

We brought our car in for some rear end work The guys at Ace were very professional and very thorough. They didn't just do the work and send us on are way. They took the time to completely inspect the rear end and actually found some damage that would have caused complete failure down the road. They even worked with our warranty company and most of the work was covered ! These guys are the best they will treat your vehicle like its their own. You are in good hands at Ace. Definitely going back.

Took my 74 Buick convertible in for a noise in the transmission. Turned out to be just a loose bolt in the torque converter. Less than an hour later I was back on the road and no more noise! No up selling no hassle! Great service!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

Gotten many services done here, including oil changes, brake rotors and pads, and a transmission rebuild. These guys are top notch, take you right away, and the turnaround is incredible. They especially take care of their repeat customers. Incredibly reasonable shop and very friendly staff. Recommend Ace to anyone. You won't be disappointed!

Maybe they will change the name to Ace Automotive repair because they do full service repairs now. I came across this company about 15 years ago when I needed a new transmission for my 55' Buick. Did an excellent job and a few year later they got my Honda S2000 back in the game with a new transmission as well. Always at a fair price. I'm a retired 26 year police officer and the owner Russ is as honest as they come. I recently learned he was doing all types of repairs and a few days later my starter took a dump. Of course I took it to him. Same great service as usual.

Great family business. Very reasonable pricing and trustworthy. These guys really know transmissions.After rebuilding the whole transmission on my Honda Odyssey, the gear was still slipping slightly in low gears. They could have easily told us we were crazy (for a while we thought we were) or that it would be extra. But instead, they spent many extra hours and replaced extra parts to figure out the problem and fix it. Ended up I had a one in a million kind of leak in one of the chambers. I'm sure any other transmission shops would have tried to squeeze more money out of me. These guys didn't give up until it was solved.

I took my car in and Russ was very nice and wrote down all of the problems I was facing with my car. It was close to closing time so they looked at my car the next day and gave me a call around 9:30 in the morning with the codes that came up. Russ also followed up with my dealership to see if my transmission problem was covered under warranty, which it was. When I came to pick up my car he told me the exact codes that popped up and gave me a printed sheet detailing everything. Russ was very helpful and professional. I would recommend Ace Transmission to everyone!!

I'm so impressed with Ace Transmission. My husband kept telling me that Ace is the place. Out of ten transmission facilities Ace was the most reasonable. I felt completely confident that I selected Sam to do the repairs on my vehicle. Sam is a very down to earth person with compassionate, patience & understanding person, as he worked with me while I was ill. I appreciate & is very grateful that I can drive now.

After being told by the dealership that I needed a complete transmission replacement on my 2011 Ford Edge, I took the vehicle to Russ and his guys at Ace Transmission for a second opinion. Turns out, after putting the vehicle up on the lift and running it through the gears, the vibrating I was experiencing was caused by two bad wheel hubs. Ace saved me over $3000 in unnecessary repairs! Highly recommended for their expertise and honesty.

Came in noting my car was experiencing transmission issues and asked them to run a diagnostic. I came back four hours later to learn they didn t even inspect the transmission or trans fluid at all. They just scanned fir codes which had nothing to do with what was going on. And still charged me. Waste of money. Maybe better place for something else.
