Homey quarters, some with river views, in a historic hotel with a storied bar & free breakfast. Overlooking the Mississippi River, this genteel hotel established in 1879 and rumored to house a ghost is within an 8-minute walk of both the Grafton Winery and Grafton Harbor. Quaint rooms provide pillow-top mattresses, free Wi-Fi and flat-screens. Upgraded rooms add minifridges and coffeemakers; some have sofabeds. Suites feature whirlpool tubs, balconies and/or river views. The 2-bedroom apartments offer living rooms and kitchens. Room service is available. Breakfast is included, and served in a cozy restaurant that features an ornate, wood-paneled bar built for the 1904 St. Louis World's Fair. Parking is complimentary.

Room price was expensive. Need rooms decorated. Nice to have a bar attached. We waited over an hour for breakfast but it was good. The bartender/server was the best!!Nearby activities: Quaint town with a nice flea market and friendly local shops all walking distance

The staff in the hotel and in Abigail's tap room are awesome. We had so much fun. The only thing I'd change is making the bed a bit softerNearby activities: They had karaoke in the attached bar. Was the first I believe they saidFood & drinks: I love that there is a bar restaurant attached. Good thing because my group had no business driving after we drank Friday night

Loved the Ruebel!!! My husband and I had a weekend getaway to Grafton and stayed in the Jacuzzi Suite. Everything was amazing. The room was clean, the Jacuzzi tub was awesome, and the location was perfect within walking distance of so many restaurants and shops. The only bummer was that the little restaurant that is attached wasn't open so we couldn't have breakfast there. But other than that it was amazing!! Thanks so much for the hospitality!! We'll be back!

The hotel is a nice historic property in a great location. The owner was very friendly and personable. The bar server was extremely nice as well. The room was decent sized with a very comfortable bed and excellent air conditioning. The bathroom was good sized as well. I would have given 5 stars but the room was a little dusty and there were 2 long hairs in the sink that were probably from whomever cleaned the room.

We were able to secure LAST minute lodging at the Ruebel which we were very thankful for. The Grafton Inn blew booking due to not answering the phone. The rooms are clean, air conditioned and ours had a fridge, coffee maker and a nice view. Constant access to a beautiful balcony commons area which overlooks the river. It's haunted...which was kind of cool. Didn't see Abagail, but our room deadbolt unlocked by itself several times while both of us were in the room (right after we just locked it...more than once). So that was interesting. The bar will likely not be open in the hotel but right down the road are a couple places with great food and drinks. EASY parking and a gas station right across the street. The hotel was quiet and we would stay again. We had fun.

We had a wonderful time in Grafton. The hotel was so comfortable, we loved the bed, sheets, towels etc. The staff was amazing from Mo, to waitresses and maids, all so nice, like one big family. They want to make sure you are comfortable and do what it takes. We had an awesome breakfast on Sunday before we left. Thanks again Mo!! Can't wait to come back very soon. And we are bringing our friends.

I have stayed at another of places, this place is in my top five.. I love the character of this place. It's old and they keep that feel. So do expect that your going to have some old issues. I am live with the bed I want to take it home with me if you ever get rid of the furniture let me know I'll come back here for the bed.. the rooms were super clean . And the service was amazing I felt like that really wanted me here and they appreciated I chose this hotel.

Beautiful old style hotel that had a creepy feel. Creepy in a good way, like in a movie. Room was small but very clean. Beds were OK.Walkability: Very close to the main downtown area, everything was within walking distance.

We had everything we needed, very clean, and the bed was very comfortable! We stayed in the standard room here on July 13th. It was just what we needed. The owner was very sweet and nice to talk to. He apologized for the restaurant in the bar not being open yet because of the recent flood, the restaurant in the bar would have been nice, I hear it is very very good, but it was OK with us, we had arrangements for most of our meals that weekend. It's a neat place, we walked around and enjoyed seeing such a neat, old place! Loved it and We love Grafton!

The hotel has been nicely updated to make it comfortable. The porch outback was enjoyable with the River in the distance. The major issue I wish I had seen in another post is that during the week the closest breakfast is 10 miles away. We found that very inconvenient. The town is basically catering to a pub clientele. Our car horn went off at 2am with a theft attempt call from OnStar. The other concern is that the front door (& read later back door) are never locked. The front desk is not attended on a regular basis.

We stayed in the room with a deck. Since it rained quite a bit we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we could but it was a nice room. Comfortable beds and more pillows than I could ever use. We really appreciated the mini fridge with two bottles of water too.We stayed here and walked to all the places we could go in Grafton. This was our view and the continental breakfast was a great start to our day. A lovely old school hotel, I recommend it.

The manager that first claimed she wasn t a manager was blatantly rude and ignorant. Has no idea what their policies actually are. She declined when I told her I d read them to her myself. The things she said to me, it was like I was speaking to a 16 year old at McDonald s. Bizarre. The place must have sold because we ve never been treated like this. We ll be finding a new place to stay in Grafton.

My wife and I booked the Ruebel Hotel to stay at for her birthday! When the weekend rolled around it was so cold and rainy we called to see we could push it a week and the owner gladly did it! Then we checked in early the day we arrived and ate lunch in the restaurant which had amazing food and the service was so amazing!!!! We the. Visited the shops that were located all around the hotel including having some very good ice cream from The awhile Scoop across the street. We went and drank wine ate Aeris winery and had an afternoon snack at The Loading Dock (all of which were right by Ruebel Hotel) we finished by walking to the Oyster Bar for a good dinner and went back to the Hotel where my wife and I planned to spend the evening on the big deck overlooking the confluence of the Illinois and Mississippi! To bad we got a call from our family saying our kid got sick and we had to leave around 7 that night! The owner however felt terrible that we had to leave and offered us a discount on our next stay and and bottle of wine to take home with us! Neither of which we took because this hotel was so amazing and the ownership so generous that we couldn t imagine taking more from them! We will be back to the Ruebel very soon because of their great ownership, central location, great employees and the fantastic accommodations!

Smallish rooms, but sized and furnished similar to other boutique hotels I've stayed in. Bed was comfortable, linens and bathroom were clean, and breakfast at the attached bar/restaurant was excellent. Parking was more than adequate. My only real complaint was the constant traffic noise since our room was facing the street.

Very clean historic hotel. Great staff when they are at the front desk, which is every once in a while. It is definitely off season so I guess they have a good excuse. Only one other couple in the hotel. Cell service not too good but WiFi works fine. Great town to walk around and look at the river. Comfortable beds with lots of pillows. Would go back.

What a neat place to stay. Highly recommend this hotel for it's location, cleanliness, and outdoor patio seating. Right next door to a bar/restaurant. The owner was very friendly and accommodating. He was very personable and went out of his way to make sure our stay was excellent.

Everything was wonderful. It is a very old hotel with a lot of history which the owner is very happy to share. The staff are very welcoming and the showers were fantastic!!!!! Wonderful view!! And within walking distance of anything on main Street and beyond. Will absolutely stay again

No one working reception. Bar closed and locked ice cream place closed and locked restaurant closed and locked. Its 4pm we can't check in until 3pm and there are no workers to be found. Finally a kid comes in and says oh yeah I had to go to the owners house for a bit. Seriously why not leave a note for people who made reservations. Then 3 loud women came in while we were trying to check in, talked over us because they were "regulars" and wanted to make sure we weren't getting the room they wanted. There was no kindness from the young man who waited on us. We did not get the room we booked on line. The place is nice but a horrible first impression stays with you. We left about 20minutes after we checked in to go find dinner somewhere and all of the lights were out in reception area nothing about who to call if there were any problems. For what the room cost us, this was horrible and we won't stay here again ever.

This place looked really neat when looking for things to do in Grafton so my husband and I decided to stop in for a drink around 7 o'clock on a Friday night in October. The place was completely empty and we should have known that was a sign. While sitting in the restaurant we watched the owner (who was holding a glass of wine and it must have been one of many of the evening) provoke a verbal argument with another customer sitting right next to me in the middle of the restaurant. It was very awkward for everyone there so we left without finishing our drinks and will never be back. Many reviews on other social media outlets have complaints about the owner(s) attitude.I put a review on Facebook. My review, and other's reviews, were responded to by someone at the Ruebel Hotel. Their response was totally unprofessional and rude which just proves what kind of service they provide to their customers. If you are looking for a place to stay there are many B&B's around town that would be appreciative of your business.

Visited for breakfast, sign said breakfast until 10:30, time was 10:05, as we entered gentleman at the bar said they stopped serving breakfast, but then the owner said we could stay and eat which was nice. Menu had about ten different selections for breakfast. Eggs, bacon, and toast was good, but hash browns were crunchy like raw noodles, but overall experience was good.

No hot water in shower, room was small & expensive. Steps to get in is hard for some with bad knees.Coffee in the lobby was cold & extremely strong. The creamer in the room was bad .The biscuits & gravy for breakfast weren't hot just lukewarm.
