So let me get this straight, I paid you to fix my tire and you said a patch would do the trick. Well the tire is still loosing air, so I bring the vehicle back and you said the tire is now damaged. You also said the price to fix it, would be over $420, that's the replacement. Well Mavis Tires & Brakes in Dekalb found the nail still in my tire and since you patched the tire anyway, they didn't want to patch a patch job. So now I do need a replacement tire and I received one, for $225. I have no idea about the sales department, this was my experience with the service department.

I ve been buying trucks from Rick for over 10 years and the service has never changed.. the entire staff always makes the buying experience seamless and easy. Kudos to the family owned and operated business that always hits the mark.

I could not be happier with our purchase and the service at Barkau CDJR in Freeport. I worked with Shawn and he was great. No pressure to try to get me to buy but worked with me to get the vehicle I wanted at a very competitive price. He answered my questions whether I contacted him by phone, email, text or in person in real time. I never waited more than a few minutes for an answer. He was intent on making sure my experience was first rate. Comfortable, friendly and customer focused. I compared vehicles at many dealerships in a hundred mile radius but got the best deal locally. Great local service, which is how I try to shop, locally whenever possible..

I would strongly recommend this dealership. I had a great sales experience and didn t feel like I was being pressured to buy something, which I think is rare nowadays. We purchased a brand new Jeep Grand Cherokee and it s been a great vehicle so far. Employees were nice and everything was nice and clean. Highly recommend.

Every time we need anything done with our Chrysler Pacifica, we take it into Barkau CDJR! Typically it's only a quick fix or an oil change, but we have had our larger warranty issues, but thankfully, Marcy, their service writer always tries to keep on top of the game to keep us happy. She either goes out of the way to get us a loaner and at times even brings the loaner out to the house when we don't have time to get it into town!

We live in Beloit wi. Went to all of our local new car Dealers and none of them had a vehicle that were looking for 2020 dodge Durango with the options that we wanted all the other dealers did a locater search and they could not find one at all but when we went to Barkau he did the same thing and he did find a vehicle that had exactly what we wanted but bad news it was in Alaska so Our sales person said we can order you the vehicle with just the options you want and the color you wanted if you would like us to wow well that's great new not one other Dealer ship would do that for us But Barkau did and the vehicle only took a few weeks to arrive we are so happy with our experience that Rick and his team have gained our family's business for life thanks for making our new vehicle purchase fun and great experience TheBELL FAMILY

Bought a 2500 Ram from Shawn upstanding salesman, professional, easy to work with and pulled no games. Drove the truck home over 600 miles back to NY. And the following day got a call from Shawn to make sure everything went well.. Great people from the GM to Rett who completed the sale and paperwork. Would tell anyone if you want a good dealership to deal with call Shawn "man of his word"

Was disappointed that they couldn't recreate the problem and told me if it happened again to come back. I get it but I work in Monroe and had to get a loaner so it's just not that simple for me. The oil change was no charge but never got any print out of work done.

I had a flat tire on my Lincoln and did not think anyone would have a tire in stock at 4 o'clock on a Friday. We called the service department and they had one in stock and we were told come in and they would mount it for us.We were greeted with a smile and never felt like we were an inconvenience for coming in so late in the day.The tire got mounted quickly and they installed it back on my car so we would not have to do it ourselves.The best part was my Ford dealer quoted me MUCH MORE for the same exact tire.I really hope this review makes it back to the service department because they did an OUTSTANDING job and deserve kudos.**by the way I am a service manager of a shop myself and these guys impressed me and I am a tough critic when it comes to service**

Barkau is great! We have purchased a number of cars from Barkau over the years, mostly used vehicles but now our new Jeep, and have always had great service from them. All their staff are personable, helpful, and pleasant. (Special shout out to Pat Gillespie.) Questions are answered promptly and courteously, and if they don't have an immediate answer, they will find out and let you know the answer. We always feel welcome when we walk through their doors.

I don t even know where to start. I found this BMW (my dream spec) on their website and made an inquiry online. Dan and Pete are literally the best people in the world. These guys made this purchase as easy and smooth as possible. This car was in Freeport, Illinois and I m from NY. I m 22, and this was the first car I was going to buy by myself. Dan and Pete answered my calls and emails every day with all the questions I asked (I know it doesn t seem like a lot, but trust me, I asked for a lot, ex. videos, paperwork, literally anything I asked for, they got it for me). It really helped me trust them, especially being a thousand miles away. I have been car searching for over a year, and all the dealers I called would ask me to come in and see the car. Every time I went, they always said, This isn t the final price online. You have to add in this and that, and you don t qualify for this promotion, so the car is actually this (usually put 5k on top of the car), or they wouldn't even have the car in stock. But Dan and Pete were straight up about everything, and I never, ever, for one second thought they were trying to scam me. And this deal was all done through the phone! Not only did they make me feel secure about buying this car from 1,000 miles+ away, they even got me a driver to pick me up from the Chicago airport (like seriously, which dealership does that?). Before I got there, we finalized a deal through the phone, so I knew how much I would be paying. And when I got there, no tricks, no scams. It was legit the same exact price that they offered me. When I arrived, I saw the car, and I literally fell in love. And signing for the car was super easy. Seriously, this is the nicest/best dealership you can go to. I wish they ran a dealership in NY. If you go to this dealership, Dan and Pete are the real deal. They will take care of you, and they really want you to get a good deal as well. They gave me the best car-buying experience ever. Seriously, I don t know how to stress it anymore. Thank you, Dan and Pete! Seriously, thank you guys so much!

My husband bought a new Pacifica October 2021. He was impressed with the ease of purchasing the vehicle. I found a used Pacifica this last July (22) and had a great experience in purchasing it. They were friendly and made the purchase go through with such efficiency. They even gave me a great price to trade in my vehicle. I had a hitch put on my van and was very satisfied and impressed with the service department, also. This is the place to go to buy new or purchase a used vehicle. We are two very satisfied customers and will surely recommend you to others!

I couldn't say enough great things about this dealership. They have been easy to work with and more than accommodating. I can't ever say I have had a pleasant experience as a whole from a dealership. But from the first email to signing the papers they have been great to us. I will finish my full review once the final work is complete and we receive the vehicle, however so far its been a pleasure.

I know he is not going to sell me anything that doesn t meet my standards and if there is a problem he s on it. I can count on him to take care of my family as well. Sales side wasn't terrible, due to my work schedule I wasn't avaliable at the same time as my original salesman which in turn led to me working with 3 different people and the GM. However when explained I would be in, the next morning to purchase my 2022 power wagon and would like it cleaned up and ready to go, was told "no problem". Got there to sign papers. Truck is filthy, has bird droppings on it and paint marks from factory inspection. After signing papers still had to sit for 2 hours waiting for it to be cleaned. Got it home and noticed the entire truck is covered in swirl marks. Looks like it was washed with steel wool. Made an appointment to have it looked at. They never once came to see my complaint, just stated they would have it buffed. Waited 2 days luckly they gave me a loaner. Come back to pick it up. Still covered in swirl marks and the front end still had bug guts on it. Great buff job eh? Instead of wasting more time I have now made a claim with RAM. Someone WILL be fixing this 70k dollar trucks paint job. After all my negative experience with Dodge brand over the years, guess it still wasn't the time to give them another chance.

Great service experience. Dealt with Lee the service advisor with a tire wear issue. Gave me their recommendations and ultimately just did a tire rotation. He was never pushy or tried to upsell replacement parts. And the pricing was very reasonable for the time I was there. Will definitely come back here if/when I need new tires or other work done. Also, they have free snacks and water/pop in waiting area. Doesn't get better than that.

Dan @ Barkau CDJR was excellent to work with, as an interested non-local buyer in a used vehicle from them, Dan took a TON of detailed and very transparent pictures all over the vehicle and sent them to me quickly. A+ service, thank you Dan!

Buying a vehicle from them was a million times better than having service done by them!!Scheduled a service appointment almost a week ahead to get an oil change, tires rotated, recall done, and fill DEF tank up...I sat in the waiting room (because I didn't have another ride) for almost 3 hours.At the almost 3 hour mark, they come in to tell me that my oil filter is on backorder and they can't find one nearby so they couldn't do my oil change.I was the first one in the waiting room...4 other people came after me....and they all left before me too.It was beyond disappointing.They said they'd call me when they got an oil filter in....still have yet to get a call from them. Been about 3 weeks now.I ordered my own filter and it got here in 2 days.

I am not entirely sure what s going on here. I went to look at (and was planning to buy) a vehicle with my mom and a friend. We were prepared to pay cash. We were not greeted with even a hello. Just Julia? Okay do you want to test drive? I loved the car. I had a local mechanic look it over for me and found an oil leak and that the ball bearings needed replaced. He estimated $400 to fix the bearings and could not find what the cause of the oil leak. We wanted to have them meet us lower due to it needing work and it estimating the asking price at least $1000-2000 over it s worth on many different sites. (Including the one the bank uses) we also wanted to look at a warranty and the salesman told us that s going to be like.. so expensive. You don t even want to think about that price. We were prepared for it to be a couple thousand and sure enough when we had to ASK him to go find out, it was what we had expected. Is it common practice to tell people it s too expensive for them? I am not sure if it s because we were women he didn t think we would know what we wanted? I also asked for a copy of the service report and was told I don t think we do that. I don t know how to find that. I had to ask him to ask someone who would be able to get that information. Considering the issues I would have to pay out of pocket to fix and that we were paying cash, we asked to have them meet us in the middle and we were told no. No room to help or even counter offer other than $400 lower considering there was things needing fixed and paying cash. All around, it s okay we didn t buy the vehicle. But the salesman knew none of the answers to our questions, talked down to us, and told us what we could and could not afford. I would have loved to buy that car today, but with how we were treated, I chose not to. Also the salesman had to be asked to wear a mask when we all were as one of us is immunocompromised. I was not impressed.

Tried purchasing a 2018 Ram diesel from this dealer and wasted an entire day to get nowhere with them. I let them know I had plans that day, but would like to pick the truck up, so I could wait a bit. I waited over half the day and got nowhere. I sent them proof of income for my loan application and they took 45 minutes to tell me the pictures were to blurry. But only after waiting around all day already. I then got no response after re-sending those pictures. NONE. Then conveniently the truck happened to sell a week later.The only reason I m leaving a 2 star review is because of the salesman I was dealing with. He was great. However the dealership itself has guaranteed I ll never go back.
