I was in a bad hit and run accident. Needed repairs as soon as possible as I was without a vehicle until I found a shop. My insurance only gave me a discount rate for a rental, so I didn t want to pick one up until my car was in the shop. At first I thought I made a great choice picking Our planet automotive because all the reviews they had, but after over a month of having to harass them for updates on my vehicle- I would call from my number and have no answer, then would call from a relatives number for them to answer right away! I would not recommend for a big job to be done with them. They gave me about 4 different days that my vehicle would be ready for pick up, each time I d call to confirm on pick up I was given another excuse to why it would be another day. They then said to me that they would pay a day of rental charge because they will take another to have my vehicle ready. (They didn t) Come pick up day- I call Stan to check in with timing. He said he d call me back after checking in with Tyler, but never did after an hour (he tends to do this a lot) so I call again and was given a time. I get there and my car is still being buffed out (they told me the day before it would take another day because that s what they had to do that day) when leaving I do a quick walk thru because I just wanted to leave that place with my vehicle. Getting home, I Immediately notice the right side of my vehicle (not the side that had damage) well I ll show pictures of the right side. Also had small scratches and had a piece of my car I m assuming, in my trunk.

Soooo dissatisfied with my experience here!!! The only convenience was the fact that the shop is within walking distance; but TOTALLY not worth it. I was charged $130 for them to look at the car, & the pathetic mechanic Rueben, couldn t even diagnose the problem!!! Then his incompetent behind had the NERVE to cop an attitude because I asked why the check engine light is on now, when it was NOT on when I brought the car in . SUCH A WASTE!!! Just can t find skilled workers anymore let alone polite OR accountable! I DO NOT RECOMMEND

As working as a mechanic in the area for 30 years at Petes Automotive I can tell you that this is the only place that cares about the environment. Antifreeze goes down the drains at petes and also grease and oil from the engine washes that are done in the shop.

I had my boost gauge repaired along with my air conditioner, and right front tire seal replaced. Our Planet was recommended to me by BC Body Craft in Oak Park. Glad they did as I was very happy with the service. Seamless communication and timely repairs. I will use them again if need be. Our Planet was awesome! They had me come in same day and replaced my serpentine belt, resolve my brake issues (new rotor, caliper and pads) and diagnosed an additional issue I will return to address. Stan called me to let me know it was done hours before I had initially thought. I will use again!!! Just moved to the area and needed brakes looked at. I went in blind and they told me all I needed was the front axle. They could have had me but they obviously have integrity.They will get my repeat business.I felt the price for front brakes, rotors, oil change and service was fair. Told them I needed to be out by 3 pm and I was, job done!

I am a Handicapped Individual from Pennsylvania looking to buy a Handicapped Vehicle. Using the internet I found a vehicle in the Illinois area.Knowing no one in the area, I had no way of getting the vehicle checked out.Being Handicapped is a very expensive way of life. And I cannot afford mistakes when making such a serious purchase as a vehicle.I ran across the website for Our Planet Automotive Services. I liked what I read and took a chance and called them.While it was not their policy to do so, Tyler, the owner was extremely kind enough to agree to bring the vehicle to his shop and check it out. I was more then happy to pay him in advance to do this for me.But being the kind, honest, upstanding Individual he is, he said to hold off. He said he would swing by the dealership and give the vehicle a quick look to see if he found any red flags.If he did, he would let me know BEFORE I made the decision as to whether or not I still wanted to spend the money to have him to bring it into his shop for a thorough exam. He did not want me wasting money I did not have to spare.He had NOTHING to gain by helping me out as I could not send him any future business his way. And he did me a great service as it turned out there WERE serious reasons to be concerned about the condition of the vehicle and the integrity of the dealership. I chose to keep looking elsewhere for a vehicl.If I ever decide to move from Pennsylvania to Illinois, I can guarantee I would look no further then One Planet Automotive Service for a mechanic.Honesty, Decency, and Trustworthiness are very difficult to find in this world.If you live in this area, I 110% recommend you check this place out! You won't be wasting your time!Thank You Tyler!

I wish I could give these guys 100 stars. I got a flat tire in Oak Park. I called them since they were the closest auto shop. They were really nice and really fast. Put my spare on and ordered me a tire which I picked up the next day! 10/10 Service!Service: TiresService: Tires

I dropped my car off and they called within two hours with my estimate. They walked me through the repairs so that I could understand what the issue was and why they suggested it be corrected. The work was completed earlier than I expected, and there were no surprise extra charges on the final bill. Not only did they come to us to open our car but they repaired the problem that day. They also recommended and maintained other procedures that had been neglected. Fast, efficient and courteous. Highly recommended

I got a nail in my tire (sidewall), I called them the next morning and they got me in right away, checked that my spare was good/safe and had a new tire for me that afternoon. This is the type of auto repair shop I love. Not some huge corporation. Will definitely be using them in the future!!

I really like their staff. We live nearby and they will occasionally send someone over to our house when we pick up yet another nail in a tire, to re-inflate it so that we can get it to their shop and fixed. I wouldn't imply that's a regular feature, but is certainly an example of how they accommodate their customers. They've been great about patching tires for a reasonable price and quickly. Still not sure why we keep getting so many flat tires, though...Also was impressed when I brought my car in after a heat shield fell off on the expressway. The mechanic took a look at it, noticed that another heat shield was missing, then asked me if I had it serviced at a particular nearby oil change shop. When I replied "yes", he suggested they likely forgot about it, because that's a thing they do. A couple days later, I called up the oil change, and found out that indeed, they had it. Our Planet called that one, perfectly. Would not recommend that particular oil change shop.But this is a great group.

This was by far the BEST car repair experience I have ever had. I needed a sensor malfunction diagnosed and fixed. I received a quick estimate and timeline. The estimate price was very reasonable and I made an appointment for the repair. The repair was completed in a timely manner, just as they said it would be. The waiting area is clean and nice with coffee and mints.Everyone I interacted with at Our Planet Automotive was SO SO nice and professional. I hope that I don't have another car repair again...But if I do, I'll 100% return to Our Planet Automotive. This is how car repair should operate.

$75 to change a bulb that I could have done in 10 minutes with no special tools. They don't print a receipt they send via email so I didn't notice the insane gouging. Stay far from this place.Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

I HIGHLY recommend Our Planet Automotive! Tyler, Mike and the entire staff are all on-board to help in any way possible. I went in for an oil change and was given an update on other issues looming that I should start planning for. On my second oil change I was alerted that my car was not holding up in either my tires or oil pan leak and both were at a very serious state. They immediately gave me rates on both and sincerely went the extra mile to make this affordable and easy for me. I was back in in 2 days, spent the day at the shop and made their lobby my mobile office. All day I witnessed they knew everyone who came by by name, hand shaking with everyone and even the postman had a quick chat. They cooked lunch and I joined them. My car is safe and I'll be back to keep my car maintained. I am also taking their business cards to my work and let my co-workers know that they are in the area and I highly recommend they come check them out. I have a friend who wants to work with eco-friendly businesses, and have already connected them. Just a great all-around business who wants to have a relationship with each client. You are not a transaction and they care what you about their work. Highly recommended. Lisa

Needed to find a new mechanic.Really glad I found this place. They do good work in a reasonable amount of time. Prices seem fair. They don't try to sell you something you don't need. I would trust them with my 99 Buick again. The parking area is crowded unless you arrive by helicopter. Tyler was amazing. He got my blazer in right away. Showed me the problem and gave me a reasonable price. They have a play area for kids, which worked out Because I had 2 with me. Helped pass time. Before leaving, Mike, awesome Mike, gifted the kids with a Easter bunny. They have great service and they make you feel like family. Thanks "Our Planet Automotive."

Made one phone call spoke to Tyler, and he took care of me as soon as I got there. The work was done same day . Clean honest work means good business to me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. Most of all my wife is super happy with the results. Great work great price. I won't go anywhere else anymore. Mr. Torres was awesome as well. Give them a call check them out don't hesitate. Very clean establishment as well. Great job to the whole team there.

I can't say enough good things about this place. You get great reliable service. They are honest and trustworthy. I've never had a complaint on price for service. Our Planet Automotive is everything you want in a mechanic shop. Tyler is one of the best! I won't lie, I've been going to him for years. Followed him from his previous locations to this one. Once you find a good mechanic it's hard to give them up. Personally, I recommend Our Planet Automotive to everyone who is in need of repair. Plus, to top it off, they are about helping the planet and giving back!

Have been with Our Planet just about since they started, three locations ago. They know what they're doing, their pricing is fair, and they are easy to work with. And, unusually, they run an environmentally-sensitive business. Just had some major work done early this week and it went well. If I could leave no stars, I would. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a shop in my life. I bought a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander from my brother who lives in Oak Park. He had the car checked by this shop since it was so highly rated and close to him, to make sure he was selling me a car with no issues. They shop looked at it, made some repairs, and said the car was a go to sell. They wanted me to bring it back in two weeks later to make sure one of their repairs was holding up. When I took it back in, I had a small list of problems that had not been taken care of before (back license plate light out, asked them to change the front license plate because the bolts were stripped, and it was having issues accelerating-rpms were going up, but the car wasn t going anywhere). I get a call back, and my whole transmission needs to be replaced! How did they not catch that before? They told me this can just happen and probably happened while I was driving it, but I had experienced this issue ever since I bought the car. They told my brother and I they could find us a used transmission for a reasonable price with warranty, because the car wasn t worth putting in a brand new transmission. Long story short, after 2 bad transmissions, and waiting almost 3 MONTHS they couldn t fix it, because the only working transmission they could find was brand new. We would never have told them to take the transmission out had we not been promised a used transmission for much cheaper. Had the car towed down the street and it was fixed within two weeks. And found out, that even though the shop had my car for MONTHS, they hadn t replaced the front license plate or the back license plate light. This place is a joke, communication was impossible, and I feel ripped off. Even though it may have high ratings, do your research before taking your business here.

I've taken my toyota in to Our Planet Automotive a few times over the past 6 months for oil changes / tire rotations and for 50k miles maintenance. The service has been prompt each time and during the longer service they offered me travel to and from home. Each time I've spoken to Michael who has been very friendly and helpful. During my 50k maintenance he recommended a valvoline treatment, which I was a little skeptical of at first because it seemed like it could be an up sell. However, he explained that it would not only improve my engine performance and save me fuel and maintenance costs down the road, but it would also reduce pollutants in my exhaust. I'm very happy with this treatment, as my prius has achieved a noticeably higher mpg since (almost 5 mpg higher over 7k miles). I'm happy to take my car to Our Planet Automotive and support their local business and environmentally responsible servicing.

I was beyond pleased with my experience today. I called around to a few places to take care of a few things on our car that I thought were going to be very expensive. The other places made me feel stupid. When I called here he was very confident he could take care of it. It was all an easy fix actually and much less than what o thought. And done the same day, afternoon even. We found ourselves a permanent mechanic! Thanks Tyler!
